Dr.Haves and his staffs are amazing and helpful with my dog for years and new addition cat recently. He was very gentle and took care of the cat. My dog love seeing him every time the visits. Compared to other old vet places my dog was always afraid and scared. Dr.Haves saved my dog years ago with bladder stone urgent surgery. It went smoothly. He helped me with Farley foundation funds for my vet bill. Secondly time with dental surgery for my dog. He did really wonderful job and took care of her teeth. Dr.Haves have a big heart for the animals and will make sure they taking care of. Highly recommend go to this vet!

My family brought their dog in who was suffering from parvovirus. The team here recommended a specialist hospital which ultimately saved the dog's life - parvo is a death sentence if not treated quickly. I've been bringing my dog here for all of his routine checkups and surgery. I appreciate the patience and quality of care we have been receiving from Chris and his team.

The vet clinic is very expensive and just gouges money, the medication costs were extremely high, I asked for 4 prescriptions so I could order online, it took him 2 days to get back to me and then charged me $80 for 4 pieces of paper, that is 4 prescriptions NO medication!!! Unbelievable!!!

I wanted to like this animal hospital, but Dr. Haves did not make a very good first impression. I gave his clinic a try because it's convenient -- right around the corner from our home. We adopted a puppy on Friday and needed care for him as he was quite listless and refusing to eat. Dr. Haves did not introduce himself, smile, or show much compassion toward our puppy (or my 13 year old son who was clearly quite anxious and worried). He examined our puppy, said that he would "be back with a quote" and left me and my son alone in an examination room with our puppy. When he returned and my son asked him if our dog would be ok, Dr. Haves responded with a cold, "Well, I can't answer that." His suggested method of treatment was quite aggressive, including intravenous emergency care, bloodwork, and tests for the parvo virus (even though I had medical papers from our puppy's breeder that indicated he was vaccinated twice for parvo). Our puppy had a lower temperature and was drinking (two symptoms not indicative of parvo). When I asked questions and told him what I thought about the parvo, he was condescending and said that dogs "don't always have a fever with parvo". I believed that our little guy was listless because of low blood sugar and needed treatment for that, but I found the other things listed on his itemized $600 quote were excessive and extreme. (He also mentioned an irregular heartbeat but did not explain the possible causes for this.) Essentially, I did not feel comfortable with him: his cold demeanor, fatalistic approach, and excessive quote made me feel uneasy. I didn't trust him to care for a beloved member of our family. When I communicated this to him (nicely and respectfully), he crossed his arms and looked at me with a condescending smirk. I mentioned that I thought his response to my son lacked compassion, and he said abruptly (with a bit of a mocking laugh), "Well, do you want me to lie?" I said, "No, but there are softer ways you can talk to children to reassure them." I am all about compassion, especially with children and animals. I immediately called Mitchell Animal Hospital (where I took my 2 previous dogs) and received superior care, as usual. Dr. Gerald Gyorffy introduced himself to me, took great care with our puppy, and reassured my son. He ruled out parvo immediately because our puppy's medical records showed vaccinations and he thought intravenous was a "last resort" if our little guy didn't respond to his suggested treatment: a fluid injection and some enticing Urgent Care wet food. Both worked splendidly and our little guy's heartbeat normalized. He told my son that our puppy really wasn't that sick and reassured him with a wonderful bedside manner. Bottom line...our little guy is full of energy after eating wet food and getting a fluid injection. He is bouncing around, wagging his tail and happy as can be. Mitchell Animal Hospital is a superior clinic with compassionate veterinarians and I will be trusting them, not Doon Animal Hospital, with the care of our dog.

I've been a client of Doon South Animal hospital for several years & until recently I was fortunate enough to not have to visit them often. This year, all 3 of my senior animals have been & I'm very pleased with the service we've received. Dr. Chris & the vet techs are friendly, knowledgeable & take their time to explain things. These people care about your pet. After having 5 teeth removed from my cat, I can also say that their prices are quite reasonable.

Dr. Chris and his vet staff have been nothing but nice. They are friendly when answering the phones, and when Dr. Chris had to move my appointment due to a personal conflict, he was really grateful about my cooperation. He even waves the fee of the metacam he gave my cat as a thank you. Personality wise id rate a 4/5. Treatment wise a 1/5. Unfortunately 24 hours after I saw Dr. Chris who Informed me my cat was just stressed and gave me a RX for anxiety I had to rush my cat to another vet clinic. My cat had bloody urine, would strain, and wasn't using the litter box. The other clinic did an ultrasound and then an X-ray and diagnosed my cat with kidney stones, they also did a urinalysis that did not come back normal.. A heart problem was also identified while they were treating his urine issues. I cannot justify the cost of the visit I had, which contradicted the issues my cat ended up having. Especially when I told Dr. chris my cats medical history and that he's almost had a blockage before- due to crystals and having him still persist it was stress was Im sure Dr. Chris is a great vet, everyone makes mistakes but my cats are my babies so I unfortunately will not be going back.

Our kitty had urinal blockage and was hospitalized for 3 days. The doctor and the staff was very helpful and our kitty made a full recovery. They even called us and checked on him for the next 2 days. Very caring and good people! We are thankful for saving our cat’s life.

Newer-ish to the area, purchased a puppy Christmas of 2020 for our kids. Accident prone since that has lead us to three separate Vet worthy visits. Every single time Dr.Chris has gone above and beyond for us and our dog. He’s dry to the point and honest it’s exactly how we like it. He has called us on his personal line to check in with us after a leg break, waved some X-ray fees when we needed multiples for a specialist; and went out on a limb to go above and beyond for a neuter surgery our pup required that was not covered by insurance. Cannot say enough good things about how much this animal hospital has gone out of their way for us and our family. It should also be mentioned that his front desk staff are a dream team who also go above and beyond trying to fit us in and always have the best demeanour and treats for us lol they are amazing at what they do because past the animal care Dr.Chris is a paperwork hilarity, which is a statement to how good of a vet he is, no one wants a vet good at paperwork and appointment keeping lol. After three vet visits in 8 months we have no frequent flyer miles program with them, but they all know us by name and it shows and we appreciate that personalized feeling of care for our family. We will continue to use this Vet for as long as we reside in the area. Our many years of pet ownership we are above happy with Dr.Chris and his team one of the best.

Took my dog in because he had an ear infection after a 10 min check I’m told he has an ear infection and charged $150 for his check up and 7 steroid pills and some ear drops than they scheduled me in for a follow up and charge me another $75 for a 10 min inspection to check there work

The care from Chris and his staff is fabulous. They go above and beyond. I know when my dogs are there they are being loved and well cared for. Chris and staff are excellent with higher strung animals and seem to be calming to them. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets.

everyone that works here is absolutely amazing, passionate, resourceful and reliable. it is always a pleasure to visit them and we always love our visits. an amazing bonus to this vet office is that they are incredibly fair with their pricing and honest with charges.
