My family and I had taken our dog, Kate to Clark Animal Hospital for nearly 11 years. Generally the staff is friendly and accommodating. Their prices are about the same as other clinics in the area. Our dog was difficult and did not like vet visits, we were allowed to accompany our dog during COVID for an appointment. My reasoning behind my review comes from our final visit, when our dog was euthanized, Oct 2020. We decided to do the procedure by our vehicle as there were multiple family members. We were assured prior to arriving that someone would be able to accompany our dog inside for her IV catheter to be placed. This didn’t happen, our dog was taken inside and we were told we weren’t allowed in with her. However, the lack of compassion is what bothered me the most. The Veterinarian, Dr. Brown I believe, was kind and made sure that we could take our time. The various vet techs and receptionists that came out initially, to greet us, take payment as well as after, not one said anything along the lines of sorry for your lost or even asked how we were doing. Two of them carried our deceased dog through their back door with me holding it open. A thanks and closed the door, not exactly a very compassionate or thoughtful ending to an already emotional and stressful experience for any pet owner.

I love this vet! They are all super nice, and very gentle. I no longer have my puppy but when I do get another I'll definitely be back! The prices were good, and it was very clean. My only slight gripe is that the parking is a little hard to get out of but thats very minor and I live so close I could easily walk there anyway!

I recently moved back home and my poor kitty Amara got a bladder infection so I knew I needed to get my little fur baby to a vet. The team here were so friendly, knowledgeable and extremely Pleasant...they got her in quickly and did a check up on her and they weren't pushy to a certain type of medication they gave us all of our options and the different prices as well and informed us of each different option the steps and process as well....a very comfortable experience overall. The prices here are very good as well they help you out by keeping you well informed on everything you could need to know and more they also check up on your fur baby to see how they're doing. They have a customer for life for both my fur babies Dean and Amara brother and sister kittens I rescued and any other potential fur babies I may get in the future. Thank you everybody at Clark Animal Hospital keep up the amazing work :-)

My parents and I have been taking our dogs and cats to Clark for 20+ years and have always had a great experience. They have helped us with everything - regular checkups and shots, various illnesses and injuries, weight management, teeth cleaning/dental surgery, and helping us say goodbye to our furry loved ones gently and kindly when the time came. Every visit they are kind and caring, explain what is happening and what the information means, as well as the options available to us. When I moved to the far side of Waterloo I continued to take my pets here rather than switch to somewhere closer because I know I can trust them.

The Staff is very friendly and professional and the office is clean and well run. However when it came to care for my giant breed puppy, they really let us down. After a really bad slip and fall back in December we took our then 1 yr old dog to Clark's to ensure there was no damage to her joints. Being a giant breed this was our greatest fear. However after being reassured that the joints were fine and just a soft tissue injury that would take time to heal, we went home. Over the course of the next few months no improvements in her ability to use her back legs. Also 3 more serious falls and more visits and still the same answer. Now however they were possibly suggesting an x-ray, but because she was still growing, they weren't really pushing this. At this point we needed more, we needed clear steps to help her and protect her, some way to help prevent these injuries and ultimately what was causing her so much pain. We had already taken it on ourselves to discontinue walks and started her on joint supplements, after no clear instructions from Clarks. Even after we got x-rays done they still got her diagnosis wrong as we learned when we were referred to another vet to investigate Physio for her hips. 15 minutes into examining her and reviewing the X-rays the second vet discovered her knees were both severely damaged. We were actually able to feel the scar tissue around her worst knee. The second vet laid out clear instructions on what to do now and after she had knee surgery and said that the surgery would need to be as soon as possible. Sadly though the surgery appointment was canceled due to the virus outbreak But more tragically our a little over a year puppy lost the ability to walk. Because she was a giant breed we had no other options left but to end her suffering. Clarks may be a fantastic vet for cats and smaller breeds of dogs, but in our case they failed us miseriably.

Clarkes was amazing. They have been our vet for over 17 years. They are very personal and professional. You can tell they love animals. I have been on disability for a long time. Thwy have been amazing with trying to help us best they can and not charge us a lot. Even once gave us advice to buy medicine online as it was cheaper. I once lost my wallet on the way there and they even were kind enough to allow me to come back later, i even offered to leave my service dog with them as collateral that I would come back, they refused and let me just go and come back whenever I could, like a put it on my tab situation, rather than call the police or make a big deal out of it or something. I came back a few minutes later. They were surprised and figured I'd be coming back in a couple days. They even didnt charge me for certain appointments and services/medicine when I told them I wouldn't be able to afford it for another month. They obviously dont do this all the time but they have gone out of their way to help me help my dogs. As they don't seem out for money. They seem like they are out to help animals and people trying to care for them. Especially disabled people with service dogs. We cannot always work. Service dogs cost a lot to begin with and with how amazing they are. They deserve the best treatment when things are wrong. Any animal does. I would recommend them to anyone. The staff there is amazing. Also I will go as far as to say a lot of them are cute ;) That's also a compliment not a pervy creeper comment. All in all. I am glad we choose them as our vet. They have kept our family dog. My service dog and my other dog safe healthy and happy. As well as tried to cater to my needs as well without acting like I'm just trying to get pity passes for everything. They are generous and personable. Can't do better than this. As we are moving to a new province soon. We will miss you so much. As will our fur babies. Thank you for everything you've done. You really made a difference and impact to us.

Until my baby girl (yellow lab) passed away recently, this was her vet since I brought her home 13 years ago. Dr. Clark was amazing, and the service continued flawlessly with Dr. Brown and Dr. Cross. They always followed up to ensure my girl was doing well with treatment and were a huge support pre and post cancer treatment (4 surgeries!!). I'll likely never have a dog again but I highly recommend this vet.

After having multiple bad experiences with my previous vet I decided to take my pup here as instead, I've taken my pet rat here in the past and was blown away with how sweet and caring the vet was. Just took my 4 month old pup here today for a checkup and shots and she was so good with my girl. Very informative and doesn't push every vaccine/medication under the sun just to get extra bucks. Also she didn't criticize me when I told her I feed my dogs a raw diet, which I was SO happy about as my former vet constantly put me down for it. The staff was extremely friendly and polite, would definitely recommend coming here! Will be taking both my husky, jack Russell/chihuahua x and cat here!

Brought our cat here, turned out he had enlarged kidneys. The vet that they couldn't find out what was wrong and it would cost a specialist $3000. Took him to another vet and they were able to diagnose for a fraction of that price, do not recommend.

Favorite thing about this place is they don't pet shame you or make you feel like less of owner if you don't buy the most expensive everything for your pet. I took my rabbit to get spayed here. I was very nervous about the procedure but their lovely, caring, and knowledgeable staff told me that they never lost a bunny during a spay/neuter which really calmed my nerves. They also kept me updated with my rabbit’s progress throughout the day which I really appreciated. I was able to get the pre-surgery exam and surgery done the same day as well as take my bunny home immediately after the procedure. It was a very quick and simple process which it should be (some places I called required a pre-surgery exam days before the surgery and did not allow me to take my rabbit home - which is not recommended as rabbits get stressed in new environments easily). They don’t try to push other services on to you and are priced quite reasonably. This place is great and I’ll be taking my boyfriends bunny to get neutered here soon too. :)
