Excellent care for our dog by Dr. Bhinder, Dr Sandhu and all staff at the Bruce St Animal Hospital. They were able to treat her immediately and I was able to stay with her while being sedated. They called a few days later for follow up and based on my observations, requested another appointment to check her out. I was not charged for this. Received another call a few days later to ensure she was recovering as expected. Fees are reasonable.

Worst vet I've ever seen. Unknown to me my cat had a broken pelvis and broken femer when we got her. We noticed that her right hip sat a half inch higher then her left hip. The "VET" told us that was normal. We'll guess what that isn't normal. Then because the breaks didn't heal properly she ended up with mega colon. My wife researched it. And told the Vet this and she said no she just has inflamed bowels. She got to the point where she was 4 lbs not eating not pooping. We told her we wanted to go to guelph animal hospital. 2000 dollars later the real vets at guelph told she did indeed have maga colon. Now my cat has had a life of pain and cost me close to 10000 dollars in meds and vets visits. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Parkdale Animal Hospital is where we go now and we couldn't be happier.

My 13 yr old cat was very ill, they took her the next day. I wasn't allowed in but they treated her well,she wasn't scarred by the visit. I thought this would be the end for her but they gave her fluids and a proper fibre rich food and she's making a good, but slow, recovery. I didn't have a very good experience at this animal hospital. I went there to get medicine for my dog due to the fact that she had a tape worm. We had treated her for this with medicine from a pet store. The vet at this location did an examination and told me that her teeth were really bad. She then proceeded to tell me that she is in pain due to this and that if I didn't do anything about this in the next two weeks she would call the SPCA on me for neglect/animal abuse. Now this is a huge surprise to me and put me in panic mode knowing that my girl friend has a dog at the same address. She has had her dog for 15 yrs. and they would take her as well. We took my dog to a different vet and they said that her teeth were bad but to call the SPCA on us was uncalled for.The new vet was very understanding and kind to both animals. The vet at this location I found harsh, rude and only wanted to sell me medicine that was not needed. My dog is not in pain and not in need of antibiotics. I had brought in a fecal sample which was not needed as the vet saw the worm crawling out her butt. But still asked me if I wanted it to be sent away for testing at which time I declined. The vet made sure that it was stated on the receipt I declined the sample to be sent away for the price. Please make sure you get the best vet for your pet!! I would stay away from this location!!!!!

We've brought our Frenchy pug here quite a few times and I highly recommend. We moved to Cambridge recently and are now needing to have his teeth looked at. But after looking at vets here in town I really think continuing his care here is worth it as nowhere else seems to be as good.

Quick and friendly. My cat and I were in and out within 20 minutes, with the medication my cat needed for her eye. Vet also offered a free check up in a few days to make sure the meds are working. Edit: the meds worked perfectly and now my baby girl is back to full health and back to her normal self! ????

I have been going to bruce street for several years for routine vaccinations for my animals. Recently, I had to bring my cat Loki ???? due to urinary issues. We had several issues come up and with limited finances, Dr. Sandhu and the team discussed what my options were. Loki is still in the processing of recovering from his issues and I'm hopeful. From my experience, I can honestly say Dr. Sandhu truly cares about my animals wellbeing and even gave me her cell number if I ran into issues over the weekend. They followed up on Loki to see how he is doing and were quick to get him in when needed. My only feedback is improving the telephone line, whenever I call I always seem to get the machine. Not sure if they are that busy or some glitch from their phone.

Took my shih tzu here at Bruce street. He had an ear infection, gave me drops advised me to apply drops for 5-7 days not telling me that the ear wax was what’s causing it. Took him elsewhere they removed the ear wax and let me know that his ear infection had not gotten better in those 5 days I’ve been applying the drops due to the ear wax buildup. Will not be taking him here again. Very frustrating, I thought it would help him but it wasn’t. Please be advised of where you take your pets.

I do not recommend this vet to anybody they need much better training. They made sure I knew that my dog was a very very good dog because they tried to keep my mind off the fact that they butchered her feet and people wonder why I have trust issues. It was bleeding all day blood all over my floor and I can only imagine the pain they left her in with no care in the world. They make you pay prior, because they knew they don't deserve a penny. Never again.

It's a no frills operation but that's fine with me as their prices are so reasonable. There have been a few minor problems with my dog and cats during the last few years and they've always suggested a cautious yet appropriate form of action so that I don't risk my pets health and at the same time don't spend an unnecessary amount of money. There follow-up is also really great as they called twice to see how my dog was doing when he had a scratched cornea.

I could not believe the service of this clinic changed so fast during this year to be unfriendly and even not compassionate. It used to be very welcoming place we loved to visit but this year Dr.Sandhu have completely different team and some of girls behave very unprofessionally and not even friendly. I am a breeder and need the vet service pretty often, several times every month. I hardly can reach receptionists by phone as no-one is available even you stand on the parking lot and need to notify that you have arrived for an appointment. The only way to get an attention is to go to the front door and wait in the line with other people which is definitely is not the best for small kittens we have. One time in April I was there, it was very windy and cold. I asked the receptionists (girl) who was talking with other customer for a long time if she could take my under one month kitten inside because it is too cold for such a small creature. I got a cold answer that they are too busy, she continued talking and even did not say sorry for waiting, no compassion at all. Staff making many mistakes from small like mixing gender, weight in the health certificates to crucial like applying the not warm enough fluid to the kitten who's temperature is already low. The fluid should be 39 C not colder in this case, applying colder fluid may lead to the death if reached the critical point. That is what happened with one of my kitten in this clinic. Even I rate Dr.Sandhu's work very high (she is a very good doctor and surgeon) I am scared to go to this clinic now because I feel that her staff is not trained enough. Also they started to give poor prognosis just because I did not accept all recommended items. Should it be at least unknown in this case? Well, I went to another clinic, got a lot of hope and encouragement, kitten is absolutely recovered now despite of poor prognosis from Bruce St.Animal Hospital. About prices: prices for the appointment look very good however we found that for medication they tend to charge sometimes twice if compare with other clinics. Also they like to measure exactly all of prescribed medications, which means if my cat\kitten does not consume some doses (often happens!) I need to come in again and pay for the same medication again... Does it look fair? Just to compare I wrote my feedback an year ago : "Very friendly, understanding and knowledgeable stuff. Ready to accommodate your appointment if really needed. Affordable and competitive prices. Definitely recommend to friends." Now I cannot recommend this clinic to any one as does not feel comfortable to go there again.

First time visit with a very sick cat. They booked me in right away. I was overwhelmed and very worried but the girls were great, Dr. Sandhu was kind and patient with me, went over everything patiently. Horrible. Visited on told Friday with a seriously ill elderly cat. Was told I'd get x-ray results "soon as possible' along with diabetes results but that it didn't look good. Bracing to hear the worst on Saturday, they did get her started on insulin and was shown the x-rays indicating she is dying with fluid or tumors in lungs and around her heart. Devastated, was then told I'd be contacted 'soon as possible' first thing Monday with full results to discuss 'options'. I spent all Sunday night awake with her, preparing to say goodbye. Monday morning comes and I didn't hear anything. Called in the afternoon to follow-up and was told sorry, wait for the vet to call. Waited the entire day, missing work due to grief and ... nothing. I'm exhausted and disappointed by the whole experience with this clinic (there is more but this is already long). I'm glad I've paid almost $1000 over two visits to suffer along with my cat. Absolutely cruel to leave us waiting.

As the prices are decent compared to other vets I find the staff to be usually very stuck up. As someone who prefers the more holistic approach to caring for animals, such as feeding a raw diet and as minimum vaccines as possible, using all natural flea/tick provention instead of the toxic and harsh chemicals that are recommended, I get a lot of grief from the staff about it. I've been taking my 2 year old husky here and was planning on taking my four month old jack Russell cross here, but just after phoning them and explaining to them I want as minimum vaccinations as possible, the lady on the other end wasn't very pleasant and pretty judgmental. A friend of mine who also feeds a raw diet has taken her dogs here and the head veterianarian also took it upon herself to print out a booklet on why "raw dog food is dangerous". Vets are not taught much in canine nutrition, clearly. Will not be taking either of my animals here anymore. If you are more fond of the holistic approach as well, or feed raw food (or both) I do not recommend this vet. Seek help elsewhere.

My dog is always treated with care and affection. The prices are very reasonable too. Adding a few more comments as now our dog copper has been seeing the vet at Bruce Street for almost two years. We are extremely happy with the treatment our 3 year old lab gets each and every time he is there. Ash has been really very good not just with copper but with calming us whenever we have felt nervous about anything regarding copper. We are always given all the possible options along with the pros and cons for each. Never have I felt cornered or pushed into getting a treatment done that wasn't necessary or neglecting something that is necessary. I thought this was an important point to mention as sometimes some vets can do that to increase charges. Recently we had coppers boil removed for which we left him with ash all day and were really happy with how copper was treated and taken care of. Thank you Bruce Street for being the way you are.

After allowing Bruce street animal hospital to care for our beloved dog for many years, we were in desperate of need of help for our treasured family member. Unfortunately bruce street animal hospital could not give us the time of day. When we called in a panic for help we were told "we close in an hour" and advised to just go wait at the after hours clinic and hope they show up early, as it was not open yet. They did not even ask what the problem was. Unfortunately we lost our dog that night and the vet clinic not even acknowledge his passing, even though they were aware. Our pet deserved better than this and so does yours.

The staff are friendly and professional and all in all, she's a good vet. We did have a recent negative experience with my cat, but she called to try and make things right, as well as apologizing for any mistakes made. That was what made the most difference for me. They also call to follow up on how your pets are doing after appointments and procedures, and Dr. Sandhu is willing to come in after hours if you have any serious problems, which is a rare quality in many vets.

So I've been using this vet for over a year. I also referred a family member who ended up bringing the clinic a lot of business. I thought their prices were good and service was o.k at first until I got a new dog. It was suspected that the dog had crystals. Within hours of getting the dog I noticed him straining a lot to urinate. He was on antibiotics from the previous owners vets office. So, I just wanted to take him into Bruce street and have him checked out. All the vet did for the exam was weigh him and attempt to stick her fingers in his rectum (for that we were charged an exam fee!!). After she did that she said he was in a lot of pain and that he had a hernia and off set colon. She said she wanted to refer him to the University of Guelph and that it "would cost thousands of dollars". She then said if we could not afford it we should put him to sleep so he doesn't "suffer". We said we wanted to get an x ray done to rule out stones. After the x ray the vet claimed the dogs kidney was enlarged and recommended the dog have an ultrasound, again she asked if we wanted to surrender the dog for euthanasia. We refused and she said she couldn't do the ultrasound at her clinic so we asked if we could be referred to the Animal Hospital of Cambridge, they referred us and told AHC that the dog needed an ultrasound. That visit to Bruce St. cost us over $200. The next day the Animal Hospital of Cambridge did the ultrasound and found that everything with the dog was perfect all his insides/rectum were normal and they think that all he has is a urinary tract infection. He was prescribed some stronger antibiotics. That visit was almost $900 mainly because of the ultrasound and sedation. So over $1000 later we have a healthy dog with a simple UTI and had we listened to the vet from Bruce Street we could have lost an amazing dog! Needless to say none of my pets will be returning to Bruce Street.

September 22nd I called to book appointment for October 16th at 9am for my kitty, receptionist took all of the information from me, and all set, however, no direction about COVID-19 protocol was given to me. Once I showed up, and receptionist opened the door was that I need to stay in my car and callbthem from there, once I started walking away to my car, she decided to take the info about kitties and teling me about something that has nithing to do with me. I'm standing outside, it's raining (drizzle) only for the receptionist to tell me that I don't even have the appointment and to call again and make one!!! Later, I did call that number just to make sure I got to the right place, it turns out it was right place, and as soon as I said who I am and asked to speak to whoever was there, she put me on hold, second call no answer, third call I was rude!! Now, I'm eastern European guy about 6"2' tall and 240lbs with strong accent and some people do find me intimidating and that always happens with ignorant and arrogant people on a power trip! Now if you wore ignorant, arrogant and condescending toward me, I'm really concerned how bad can you threat someone smaller then me, or a pet? I would give you negative million stars if I could, but unfortunately lowest I can go is one star

After trying two different medications my 14 year old Shih Tzu's eye did not show much improvement. Ash from Bruce Street Animal Hospital kindly talked me through my options and helped me choose the best next steps for my dog (considering best interest for my dog as well as the cost). The next step included getting an x-ray of my dogs teeth as a swollen eye can be a symptom of a tooth infection. Bruce Street Animal Hospital does not have this x-ray machine for dental but they (Ash) went above and beyond to call other offices in this area who do have this machine and scheduled me an appointment with them promptly (next day). Throughout this entire process the communication was great, the service was very professional and I most importantly appreciate the honest opinion/guidance. Thank you for your service!

It was extremely hard to get questions asked and then answers were few and far between. When I called back to ask about a certain medication we were told about no one "remembered " discussing it and had no idea what I was talking about. They then mentioned a skin condition on our girl and that we had declined medications for it when in fact, it had never been mentioned to us at all!!!!!! I finally ended the call incredibly frustrated with the girl constantly trying to push a medication we could buy online for 2/3rds of the price they wanted to order for us. I should also mention this was never discussed at the appointment.

The only vet I could find that doesn't charge ridiculous prices for spay and neuters! Not only was it a great price to neuter our kitten, but we saved an extra $15 by bringing our own cone. I had a few questions about the healing process after the surgery, and the staff was great at returning my calls and answering my questions. Dr. Sandhu even gave me her personal number and asked that I send pictures of my kitten if I had any concerns about how he was healing/infections etc. Truly a great vet clinic.

Dr. Sandhu is not only a vet Doctor; she is our animals' protector. Six years ago, she saved our cat Kraken from serious condition of Urinary stones; one year ago, she saved our dog Ramses from leg injury. The staff and Doctors here are great, one of the best in Waterloo region. I have dropped this to 2 stars as per our conversation earlier today. I made a couple of requests via their new contact the doctor page on their site and received no response for a while, I even requested a appointment online also when I received my rabies reminder. They only contacted me after Manitou Animal Hospital called to request her paperwork, I explained that I tried to get her in but thought they were just backed up. I like Bruce Street Hospital, but she came across as not giving two hoots whether my animals were patients or not, I guess now that business is booming my animals have become customers that are easily replaced. I guess our welcome is worn out here, thanks for the services but it's time to mosey along.

Despite heightened restrictions at a number of clinics due to the ongoing public heath emergency, Bruce Street Animal Hospital was more than happy to accommodate us on short notice to euthanize our sick and elderly cat. We as a family were permitted to be in the room for the procedure, which brings me comfort knowing his final memories were with us, free of any stress and anxiety. We were referred to this clinic by the low-income East Village Animal Hospital on Weber St., which was unable to perform this procedure the aforementioned reasons. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the cost of the procedure, especially in comparison with other clinics in the area. Taking the caring and compassionate staff into consideration, and this is easily the best value clinic in the area. Highly recommend, 10/10 Thank you for helping us through this sudden and difficult time.

My cat was throwing up and has a history of IBD flareups. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and they listened. First time at this hospital and I was impressed with the service provided and would not hesitate to go back. Other hospitals I've been to in Toronto have pressured me to do extra service but the staff and doctor provided me with the options and let me decide without pressuring me. They also took time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions.

My boyfriend and I are new to the Kitchener-Waterloo area and have a 5 month old puppy named Dexter. I spent hours looking for a good vet and based off the reviews I saw, Bruce Street Animal Hospital seemed to be the best one in the area but that was unfortunately not the case during our appointments. I am typically a very patient and understanding individual but with the 2 appointments we had, we were very disappointed to say the least. When you arrive at this location you obviously can not go inside due to Covid restrictions so they leave a number for you to call at the front door when you arrive for your scheduled appointment. We arrived at 2:55pm for our 3pm appointment. Not only did it take them 10 minutes to even answer the phone but we spent 15 minutes waiting outside for them to bring Dexter in. They told us it would take about 30 minutes for dexter to have his second round of shots administered so we decided it would be easiest to just wait in the parking lot........... 2 hours later we were still in the parking lot waiting. Annoyed was an understatement but I didn’t say anything because the person who brought him out was very kind and the prices were very reasonable which I was happy about! Second visit: I called and made an appointment for Dexter to receive the tick medication on Thursday, May 27th and they were awesome and had an appointment available at 3pm on Friday, May 28th, I thought okay, awesome! I wanted to forget my first experience there and give them another shot. Again, we arrived at 2:55pm for our 3pm appointment (keep in mind this time it was freezing and pouring rain), we waited outside for close to 20 minutes with no one even coming to the door or answering our calls..... not only this but the individual who came to the door didn’t even know why we were there, they asked if we were here for a heart worm test??? The next thing we were told is that they were very busy. We were very understanding because we can understand covid times and how difficult things are right now. Anyways, they then proceeded to tell us AGAIN that they were very busy and Dexter would have to wait in a room for 15 minutes to see if they could even see him today???? At this point I was so upset and annoyed that I asked for clarification. I scheduled an appointment so what do you mean you don’t know if you can see him today? Which they would again tell me they were very busy so at this point I was extremely annoyed as you can imagine. They said if I wanted to wait they could call the vet for me if I had an issue which I declined and told them I didn’t understand why I scheduled an appointment and they weren’t able to see my dog. I drove all the way there and scheduled this into our day. Anyways... they were very rude to my boyfriend Matt Scarfo and I which was the worst part about it, being very snippy and short.To end the conversation I said you know what, I’m just going to find another vet because this is ridiculous and we left. Not to mention the other 8 cars in the parking lot who were waiting for their pets to return lol. We will not be returning because of this horrible experience. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but with how rude and unprofessional the person at the front was, we will not be returning. The wait times for simple vet appointments are ridiculous. Although prices are fair, be prepared to deal with this.

Absolutely awful vet clinic. Tried to stay with them, but had to do the move after so much money wasted on misdiagnoses, very unorganized, and turn over of staff is ridiculous causes the new staff to not have a clue ever what is going on. Also if you’re trying to reach them by phone good luck.. I usually have to call about 10 times in a row for anyone to even answer and the people answering the phones are not very knowledgeable or friendly. They have diagnosed a couple of my cats with the wrong thing after charging for all these tests (that they ask you to do pretty much the same tests with any little issue, money grab) and when the cat still isn’t better ive gone to other vet clinics for a 2nd opinion that say these guys don’t have a clue! Very disappointed how down hill this clinic is going. I trusted them with my fur babies little lives, but not any more! Quit letting go of good staff just because you rather have new students for cheaper. The animals should be a priority! One day you will misdiagnose and cause a life to end.

Took my shih tzu here at Bruce street. He had an ear infection, gave me drops advised me to apply drops for 5-7 days not telling me that the ear wax was what’s causing it. Took him elsewhere they removed the ear wax and let me know that his ear infection had not gotten better in those 5 days I’ve been applying the drops due to the ear wax buildup. Will not be taking him here again. Very frustrating, I thought it would help him but it wasn’t. Please be advised of where you take your pets.
