If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They claim they only take appointments for their patients and being the only vet clinic that closes at 8:00pm, they refuse to help sick animals who are in need. Instead I get turned away and that my pet can wait another day. They did not even look at him, they just said that he can wait. How would you know if you did not do any tests or examination? I didn't want a full work up, all I wanted was to determine his symptoms and get medicine for him but apparently 15 minutes isn't enough for that and as people who claim to save animal's lives, they were not willing to stay late to help. I used to work at a clinic and the doctor there would stay hours later just to comply with their patients schedules. This is disappointing and I will never recommend anyone to go here.

They saved my bearded dragons life when she was less than a year old after she came down with severe MBD (I was sold the wrong light but was told it was the correct one.). This past year, she laid a clutch of infertile eggs and we were unable to get calcium back into her system because she would not eat and she sadly passed away but the staff at Beardalls treated me and my bearded dragon with nothing but compassion. My dragon was dead upon arrival but they examined her anyway (to see what they could find) and I was not charged a dime. I would recommend these guys to anyone, especially for beardies!

Very unimpressed after years of bringing our pets there, treated with not an ounce of respect or compassion or helpfulness by office manager. Vets, Vet assistants and desk personel have been amazing, but recent experience with one individual who somehow is in charge, leaves me with bad taste in my mouth and I have chosen to take my business elsewhere. This individual doesn't care that loyal clients with decades of patronage will take their business elsewhere and treats with attitude of complete disrespect and lack of compassion. Very disappointing. I will miss the other people and their skills and compassion. Sad to leave. But Jessica does not care. Sad that.... I see some responses from "the owner" here. Would love to know who that is and who is accountable beyond the young person who is handing out edicts at a place that otherwise had been a very nurturing and pleasant place that has served my animals in sickness and health over many many years at no small expense! oh have so much more to say, but won't say now... probably wasting my breath. Very disappointing and saddened mostly. Humanity is not there where I entrusted it....and threats of collection agencies when a person was willing to pay their bill, despite extraneous circumstances, highly further offensive. Sad. Disappointing. Big time. Not sure if any of owners or staff will see this, but want the vets and vet techs and front desk people to know I had the highest respect and was sad to leave, tho my leaving is apparently not grieved with or without dollars attached.

We have been going here for a while now, First with our very old Siamese cat Max, who was diagnosed at another vets office who treated me like I knew nothing about my cat and I was treated like a fool there, then I came to Beardall with him and they were great with us and talked me though everything and answered every question I had. Then when it came time to have max put to sleep they were very good with myself and my boyfriend, talking us through it, letting us stay in the room, and even letting us hold him as he went. We even received a card about it a few weeks later which may not seem like much but to us it meant the world as max had meant the world to us. Now we bring our cat Jade here and they have once again been amazing with her, always gentle and explaining everything and answering all of our questions.

I would recommend this hospital to anyone in a heart beat. We take all of our pets here 8 in total of all kinds every single one is given the best care possible. Last night our youngest cat was having a seizure and we rushed her over to be seen and they took her back immediatly and were fantastic keeping us updated and calm. As long as I live in kingston this is the place my animals will go for all their needs.

I brought my cat in to get spayed, turns out they left an ovary in place, resulting in her continuing to have her cycle. I would not ever recommend that you bring your pet here to be spayed, neutered, or for any service in general.

This place is a money pit. They will offer you a huge array of stuff you don't need and tell you that you need it. Also NEVER JOIN THE VCA CARE CLUB! If you miss a payment they will cut you off and slam you with dozens of charges they only managed to talk me into because it was meant to be covered. For some reason they tried to take $500 for a $150 bill and overdrew my CC. I literally had ONE respectable vet in the 7 years I was a customer.

I got a call yesterday telling me my cat had been brought there by animal control because he "injured his back end" I went right there with the plan of bringing him elsewhere. When I arrived I was informed he had probably broken his back and was hit by a car! Then said unless I wanted to spend an extra 10 000 they should put him to sleep. I was a mess in the waiting room only for them to say I couldn't leave until my bill was paid ($600 btw). Any humane hospital SENDS you the bill to avoid such embarrassment. please avoid this place at all costs. I am still incredibly upset about how that whole incident occurred. I wouldn't even give this place one star if that was an option :(

I've been taking my cats to Beardall for roughly fifteen years now. Another vet clinic told me there was nothing I could do for my diabetic cat; a friend of a friend told me to try Beardall, and I've been consistently satisfied with their care of my feline family members ever since, through chronic and acute and emergency conditions. Vets and staff have always been honest and upfront with me and helped me make the best decisions possible. Office staff are helpful and understanding. I've never felt like there were any priorities other than the well-being of my cats, and the vets there are well-informed and up-to-date. I recently lost one cat to unexpected complications, which is the kind of thing that can happen in health care of any kind, let alone with a patient who can't verbalize what she's feeling. The vet who saw my Angel on that last visit was as compassionate and truthful as I've come to expect. It was a tough way for all of us to start off first thing Monday morning, but I'm grateful for how she handled it. When it comes to the safety of my cats, which matters deeply to me, and with vet care as expensive as it is (clinics have costs to cover), I'll be continuing to rely on the vet clinic that has earned my trust over the years.

Very easy despite COVID restrictions. A vet tech took my dog from the car and returned him 15 minutes later. She was extremely pleasant and Otto was happy to go with her. He had teeth removed several weeks ago and the procedure appears to have been a success.

I've had seven rats in total and all have gone to Beardall. Dr. Chamberlain has done five spays for me with no issues. One rat also needed her teeth filed every couple months because of a severe underbite, so if anybody is looking for this service, Beardall provides it. Three of my rats have had fatal medical issues (vestibular disease and two occurrences of cancer), and in all cases I thought that all of the doctors and staff involved knew how to phrase things in the right way. I am very aware about this sort of thing because I worked at an emergency vet service for years and I know how bad some vets can be with patients and their caregivers. The vets at Beardall are sensitive but will also be honest with you. Whenever I call, the staff always finds my record quickly and I have never had any issue with billing or making payments. Out of MANY bills one was more than I was quoted but it was because there was an issue in surgery. So just make sure to get a range when you get a quote if you want to be prepared.

I could not ask for a better vet. They are beyond knowledgeable. I have one dog with lupus. While out of town he became very sick. Two other vets misdiagnosed him. If I had followed their recommendations, he would have died. When I was able to bring him into Beardall, they diagnosed him immediately. He has required a lot of appointments, medication, and care, and I can say without a doubt that Dr. Clark has put in more hours to monitor his health, calling to check in, and taking her own time to talk to specialists, than I could have ever hoped for. They never run unnecessary tests, and any tests my dogs do have, have always proven to be 100% accurate in helping them. They can truly be trusted to care for your pets. The type of honesty that you get from vets like Dr. Clark and Dr. White, is hard to find. In the last year especially, I have felt that my two dogs health mattered more than the amount of any bill.

I found that they are the most expensive pet hospital in town. After my late cat past away. Moved my kittens to Collin Bay Vet and they are fantastic and much better priced. Much more of a family atmosphere then a big business

While attempting to pay our bill we were advised their debit/credit machine was down. The receptionist told us we could pay by phone. We called a couple days later and payed with a credit card. A little while later we received a bill with interest charges advising us we have an outstanding balance. We checked our credit card records and found no change so we called to try to make another payment. We paid the interest and our full bill. We then get a collections letter advising "This letter terminates all services provided to you or your pets". Summary: After attempting to pay three times this Animal Hospital bans us for non-payment.

Our pet rabbit was obviously dying and needed to be euthanized.The entire staff was kind, caring and thoughtful. We had only brought our rabbit in once before when we first got it 11 years ago. They made a rough day much smoother.

Way Over priced. To get my kitten 3 sets of shot they charged $130 each. Then my girlfriend took him in to get neutered and chipped and we were under the impression it was $220, but ended up costing $497. That is one expensive procedure.

Great staff and awesome service! Our dog is always excited to go to the vet, and they really understand that your pets are family too. The VCA pet plans are also a great incentive and offer lots of perks. VCA also offers direct billing with Trupanion Pet Insurance which is great because you aren't stuck paying large vet bills up front and waiting to be reimbursed. Would recommend to any military in the area, as VCA extends across Canada and their pet plans are recognized at any other VCA location.

The staff are very friendly but I was not all that impressed with my experience. First off they had my cat in the system as a male, which he is not and even after the vet examining her this clearly was not fixed. I was charged $80 for a "exam" which was basically a 5 minute discussion on the information I had already found when looking up her symptons on google. I then proceeded to pay for testing which was not really even necessary and showed nothing. I recieved several phone calls and emails asking me to come in and purchase their food which I instead decided I would prefer to change her to a natural diet. I then recieved a fairly rude email stating if she was fine to bring her in for ANOTHER exam and vaccines. Thank you but she had her vaccinations less then a year ago and clearly does not need another exam.

In the beginning my experience was great, the staff there are very friendly and very helpful. My small animal had a bad infection which caused here bowel problems and the vet at the time did as much as she could, trying new medications one some didn't work. But it seemed like she got frustrated and gave up basically because she told me there was nothing else I could do and she would have to be put asleep. The vet went away for a week, so I saw Dr. Chamberlin and she did an exam on my pet and found out what the problem was immediately (when the other vet really didn't know why or what was wrong) In a matter of 2 weeks the problem went away and things have been fine ever since. . I think when you have no more answers you should be able to ask for help, because if I would have given up than my animal would be dead right now. Because of this reason I only see Dr. Chamberlin

I deal with Dr. Gaines on a regular basis for my chinchilla. She's amazingly caring and open to all worries I have. She's always treated my girl with exceptional love and makes both of us very comfortable. My chinchilla hates the vet (obviously) but Gaines gives her free roaming ability in the checkup room and is very gentle handling her which is incredibly important to me. Thanks for all the service

I wouldn't even give this place one star. It is just horrible. Please do not bring your pets here. They are completely unprofessional and inappropriate. They misinformed me in the beginning, we're not accountable when the amounts and what was discussed suddenly changed and then refered to me negatively and inappropriately in the chart documentation after the appointment. So that should speak for their level of care and motive. The worst experience ever. When you have a pet that is old and ill and you are concerned, you do not need to experience this level of rudeness and lack of professionalism. I have lived in three Provinces and I have never experienced anything like this.

Absolutely disgusting in the way they treat their customers. Was told that we should be prepared for the possibility of EUTHANASIA with our small puppy when the vet couldnt figure out a diagnosis after NO tests came back with concern. Constantly pushed us to go to the emergency hospital after repeatedly reminding us that our dog is looking really bad. Used fear tactics on new dog owners to push us into gouging money out for our dogs supposed death like systems. Ending up getting a second opinion from a trusted source and found out the puppy was just constipated. Apparently the emergency hospital profits are split between the local vets. Good to know that, if youre naive to animal health, you WILL be taken advantage of by the disgusting practices at this hospital.

I brought my lethargic guinea pig here about 6 months ago and I was very impressed with the service I received. I had to cancel my follow-up appointment since she had passed away before it, and I thought that was it. I later got a card in the mail from Beardall Animal Hospital expressing their condolences and it meant a lot to me. I am very happy with how they treated my piggy and the fact that they went the extra distance to acknowledge their patient's passing.

I found the staff to b very nice but I found it was very expensive. I had to take my dog in for a neurological issue, which was out of their league I understand but they gave me a weeks worth of anti-nausea medication and my dog died the next day. I just feel I was given false hope. And there was no urgency when it came to my dogs health. I also paid for a $300 blood test that when I got to the neurologist he said I paid for that test for no reason. This was my 1st dog so I certainly learned a lot from this experience.

I recently went to this hospital with my cat who had a neurological problem. The diagnosis told us it was fatal and there was absolutely nothing we could do but make her comfortable and in the end put her to sleep. Our Doctor called us every week on her last month to see how she was and to recommend anything that would help her comfort level. I never felt alone while my family cared for her in the last month. Even after we were told there was nothing we could do, our doctor still did extensive research in the disease and printed off pamphlets so we could fully understand what was happening and why there wasn't a cure. When the day came that our cat had to be put down, we were told a doctor we didn't recognize would be with us. Instead the doctor who had helped us from the beginning came in. It was comforting to know that she cared enough to be devoted until the end. I will never forget it.
