Not a good veterinary at all! and this is coming from a Veterinary Assistant!! They were very unprofessional when we brought in my dog, the first thing we were told on our very first visit there was that our dog needed to be muzzled ASAP, he wasn't even jumping, biting, barking or anything, he was simply just standing beside me! ALSO I was sent numerous emails and even recieved calls to book my dog in for his annual vaccines, we get to the appointment, they take our dog in, bring him back out and the only thing they've done was a nail trim. Told us they assumed he wasn't around other dogs, so they decided it was their decision to not give our dog his annual Bordetella vaccine, said he has a possiblity now that he can get Bordetella/Kennel Cough. We are very dissatisfied that they took this upon themselves to decide! Even in general most of the staff there is very unprofessional!! and I will be changing where I take my poor dog!!

I can't say enough good things about the Kingston Mills Veterinary Clinic. They helped when others wouldn't, weren't available, or were outrageously priced. My Coton de Tuleur puppy, Ari, was nearing the end of his awesome 15-year life and needed to be put to sleep May 9 -- and the staff at KMVH stepped up and helped make the ordeal relatively easy -- as easy as that kind of thing can be. Ari was never stressed, they thoughtfully gave us the space/time we needed at the end, and Ari was able to pass away quietly in my arms -- and I will be forever grateful for that!! Thank you!

We had a great experience at kingston Mills Vet clinic. The staff were so friendly, especially when I called in every 2 hours to check on my cats status. Max was in bad shape when he got there. This all happened the day prior and when I called at 7 am the technician told me to come now. The Drs were extremely kind and they took time to explain his condition. In the end Max survived thanks to great prompt care. Thank you to all the Drs and staff.

I started taking my dog here for the chiropractic & acupuncture services, then when she had to have a cancerous tumour removed it was done by Dr McMurray. All I can say is wow, and thanks. The after care support for the recovery, which took about 4 weeks, was simply stellar. They phoned daily to see how she was doing, and looked at her wound recovery every few days (as needed). I really felt supported through this ordeal and my dog also loves going there, she practically runs to the door when we go. I have never felt like this at a vet's before - they all clearly care way way more about the actual animal and their welfare. Thank you so much for your wonderful work.

I recently changed to Kingston Mill’s Vet as my own vet had retired (although previously I had used Dr. Morag McMurray’s holistic services at this clinic before with amazing results). Their vet had retired a year ago and now Dr. Mark Rutherford and Dr. McMurray are the vets at this clinic. Their services are excellent and compassionate. I was in an emergency situation with my kitty and they handled everything professionally and with compassion to my situation. This is now my new veterinary clinic and I couldn’t be happier that these two wonderful veterinarians are available to look after my furry companions. Thank you.

One of the best clinics in the city. We have taken our 14 pets there over the past 4 years and found them to be fair and caring and knowledgeable and super helpful every single time. Prior to finding this place I had used a few other local services over the past 20 years and they could not hold a candle to the Kingston Mills Staff. New owner was able to get my pets in same day even though they were swamped and overscheduled. I can say nothing bad about them. When you hear stories Beware!!! Perhaps give the benefit of doubt first and realize these people spend their whole life caring about the health and welfare of animals. They put that first priority as they should, and they deserve to get paid also.

I was very unimpressed. I took my mom to the vet today to put her 12 yrs old chihuahua to sleep. He was having difficulty breathing when we came in. Then asked about what cremation she wanted and what urn and if you dont make a decision will have to wait to release the body. I assisted my mother with the decision of urns as it wasn't handle nicely by vet tech. Then the vet tech gave him a sedative to relax him. He went into distress and it took over 15 mins to get assistance and asked three times for help. Finally when he was gasping for air the vet and vet tech enter. The vet tech took to attempts to inject another shoot to put him to sleep. The whole experience was horrendous for my mother and very traumatizing for her. The vet/owner was not very sympathetic. It was not a peaceful passing for our poor 12 yr old chihuahua. I will never recommend this clinic or any of there staff.

Absolutely fantastic. My family had to put our pet rabbit down after many years. They were truly amazing. They dealt with the situation with such compassion and cared for the rabbit as much as the rest of the family. The doctor and vet tech did everything they could to make my family and our rabbit as comfortable as they could. Could not reccomend these people enough.

What a breath of fresh air coming to see Dr. Morag McMurray at this clinic. I was looking for a vet who wouldn't make me feel guilty for not wanting to put chemical pesticides on my dog every month or feed him science diet. She was very knowledgeable, discussed alternatives to chemicals with me and did not try to upsell any food or products. So glad to have found her...been looking for a vet like this for years, tough to find. Highly recommend.

Our puppy Emma had a hotspot that became infected. We called Kingston Mills Vet Clinic and were told we'd be able to bring her in in 2 days. They called the next day and said to bring her in - so we got in a day earlier than they'd predicted. The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We dropped Emma off and picked her up a few hours later. We were given medications to treat her. Questions about the medications and how to give them were answered thoroughly and clearly. When Emma had a negative reaction to one of the meds, the clinic told us to bring her back right away. The meds were adjusted at no extra cost. Dr. Mark called the next morning to find out how Emma was doing, which knocked my socks off. I have never had such excellent veterinary service. Emma is recovering nicely.

The care and consideration given to our rather large cat (it’s litter box has stretch marks!) was exemplary. From the welcoming staff to the good doctor himself “Fatty Baby” (a lot of thought went into that name) was treated extremely well. She had presented with a rather large cauliflower growth on her ear causing her to look somewhat like an alien. Despite her alarming looks the staff showed no sign of fear, they did not run! This is a very good sign if one is expecting top notch care for their deal-a-meal, fugitive kitty. So, after some discussion with Fatty baby she asked me to write the following because she lacks opposing thumbs: “Kingston Mills Veterinary is the essence of ALL life in the universe as we know it today regarding cat care, corrective surgery, and kitty treats!”

After being quoted $3000 at another local clinic, Dr. Rutherford gave an honest assessment and completed the extraction for $1000 - and we felt the quality of care was great. We had to wait a couple weeks for the surgery appointment, but we're very happy to have found Kingston Mills.

Amazing veterinarian clinic! We have spent a lot of money and time trying to solve our dogs ear infections. He was been to many vets over the years with no luck. We were recommended to Kingston Mills by a family friend, and as a last resort we decided to make an apt. Wow… we are so glad we did! Mark and his daughter spent the time to call and get all his records from the series of vets we had been to. Gus is the best he has very been thanks to the treatment Mark has him on. A true life saver!

Dr. Rutherford and his staff went above and beyond for our cat, Rusty. We were lucky to have 17+ years with our cat, and in the end, Dr. Rutherford made sure he was comfortable and peaceful. It's so hard to write a positive review for such a heartbreaking day for our family, but the staff at KMVH made a tough experience just a little easier. Our cat declined in health incredibly quickly. We called at 7:00am and booked an appointment for 5:30pm for a "quality of life" exam. However, just an hour later we could tell Rusty was in pain and was suffering. We called back and they took us that morning to give Rusty some peace. Dr. Rutherford took the time to explain to us what happened, and didn't make us feel rushed to say our goodbyes. My sisters and I were in tears and yet Dr. Rutherford made us feel at peace with the decision we had to make. I have so much respect for the difficult jobs veterinarians have - vets really are heroes. Their COVID-19 procedures were thorough and we felt safe the entire time. As a thank you for the kindness shown to us that day, our family decided to make a donation to Spay and Neuter Kingston Initiative as well as The Forgotten Ferals Cat Rescue to honor our big ol' puur ball, Rusty. Both are great non-profits that KMVH supports and we wanted to do the same. Thank you Dr. Rutherford and your team for all that you do.

Kind, knowledgeable, skilled, down to earth, and honest. My final bill came in below the original quoted price; they could have easily stuck to the higher price, but they didn't. The staff here was patient, caring, and courteous, even though they were at the end of a long busy day. This is a wonderful veterinary clinic that puts pets & clients first.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this vet clinic. I am always impressed by how friendly, professional and compassionate the staff are. They offer a wide variety of services and truly care about their clients (both pets and owners). My dog loves going there and eagerly goes towards the clinic when we arrive. Considering that it usually involves her being poked with sharp needles and having her nails clipped, I consider that a true testament to how good they are!

All of my pets go to this clinic and we could not be happier with the level of service we get from all the staff! both of our large breed dogs were having issues over the summer and even with COVID the staff are super friendly, helpful, caring, compassionate - I could go on and on! Dr Rutherford has done something no other vets I have seen do and that is FINALLY getting to the bottom of my Lab's ear issues that have plagued us for 12 years. Dr McMurray took amazing care of my elderly Catahoula when he was having accidents and falls in the house - after testing for hypothyroid he is so much happier every day and has gone from "mildly obese to moderately overweight". Both dogs are like brand new animals after all the care they receive from all the Techs and Drs at the clinic. Kristen and Nicole (and everyone else) always answer the phone in a happy voice and answer all my annoying questions. Pricing is very very reasonable for most things. I cannot recommend this vet enough!

My dog is not a client at this veterinary office. Yesterday, we ran our puppy over as she had a stick lodged in her mouth and she was choking/panicking. We showed up outside of the office and they took our dog in promptly. They were so friendly and helpful and we were really grateful they helped us when we aren't clients of theres.
