I was referred to this clinic by my mother when my dog got sick. I am so pleased with Dr. Farooq and his team. They charged us a fraction of the cost of what our previous vet charged for the same services. Now my dog is making a speedy recovery and we couldn't be happier. Dr. Farooq and his team are friendly, ethical, and affordable. Needless to say he is now our new family vet and I'm proud to recommend him to friends and family. UPDATE It's been over two years since I posted my review. Dr. Farooq and his team are still amazing as ever. They've helped us through some tough times when our pets needed care. We see over the moon impressed with GRAH, and so are our family and friends who we've refered.

We have been to several places for our cats over the years, but this is the best one. They have been very caring and compassionate with our cat which is very important to us. They are always professional, and we feel very comfortable with our cat there. The prices are very reasonable as well, especially the new kitten deal for shots/immunizations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Took my 6 month old kitten in today because he was vomiting and looked lethargic. He had recently been neutered and my other vet was closed. The vet assistant did a really thorough physical exam which was awesome. The vet was also wonderful and very friendly. I definitely recommend bringing your pet here!

Dr. Farooq and staff are so friendly and caring. I feel like they genuinely care about the animals they see, and I know that every time I take my dog there she is being provided with the best care. Everyone is professional and their hours are great, highly recommend!

My one cat who I got registered here when she got spayed (one year ago) had a seizure the other day, and it worried me (obviously lol) and I got my partner to call gardiners Rd animal hospital to be able to bring her in immediately to get checked and make sure this wouldn't get any worse, they knew my cats name as soon as I mentioned my last name (which was actually really comforting to know) We got there roughly 15mins later, and she was seen right away. I got a call part way through the checkup and talked a bit about what was happening and get some more information from myself. After 1 hr, she was good to come home and with medication! She has since been seizure free, and the medications are working!

I took my four month old kitten in for kitten vaccines and the vet held him down into the table and put the needle in his leg that then went through hia leg. Do not take your animals here

Absolutely fantastic, could not recommend any more or say enough positive things. Dr. Farooq gave us the absolute best, kindest service and was extremely gentle, kind, caring and knowledgeable. He was also extremely honest about the likelihood of expensive procedures being successful for our kitty-- he definitely cares more about the animals than making money. Additionally, I was in Florida and unable to get to Kingston as our kitty was sick, and Dr. Farooq went out of his way to call me with updates multiple times a day, and even FaceTimed with me multiple times to show me our cat and her x-rays. By far and away the best veterinarian service we've had.

I had a problem with my 12 year old cat on a Saturday tried to contact her regular Veterinarian but could not get any respond. On Sunday called Gardiners Road Animal Hospital they took her in that afternoon treated her. Dr. Farooq & staff are very kind and friendly. They even do a follow up call to see how your pet is doing. If you have any problems with your pets i would recommend giving them a call.

I just recently switched my 10 year old dog to this vet and they have been amazing. My dog loves going here. Shes been having a lot of issues with one of her eyes and Dr Farooq has been amazing with finding something that will help fix the problem. He explains everything in a way that i can understand what is happening and he makes sure i understand why he is suggesting different treatments. They have also called a couple days after every appointment to check up on my dog and make sure i have no concerns about anything. I recommend this vet to everyone i know.

I Have been to many vets over the years and since I have been living in Kingston, Gardiner Road Animal Hospital has been by far the best. There are no hidden charges and I have never been made to feel like I have to spend tons of money to find out unnecessary results. There is always a friendly face to greet you and always speedy to get appointments.

Took my dog there for a second opinion and was so impressed by Dr. Farooq and his attention to detail that we are staying ! I’m going over my dogs medical records and listening to us tell our story he was able to pick up on an important detail previous vets had missed . Staff is friendly and very accommodating and hours and appointments fit into out busy schedules. Would definitely recommend to anyone .

I went to the clinic this eve. I am still shaken by my experience. I had to arrange for a euthanasia for my cat and didn't contact my regular veterinary clinic as I was sure it would be difficult to get a last- minute appointment at this time of year. The scheduling was great a long with the receptionist greeting and treatment. Once in the treatment room for my appointment the vet entered, asked me to go around the table. By the time I came around the table, instead of retrieving clippers and shaving his arm like many other procedures I have been witness too, she proceeded to rip 2 chunks of his hair out of his arm by the time I was around to the her side. I was so stunned, I didn't know what to say. I have seen many euthanasia's, blood retrieval's, etc, but nothing quite so barbaric. I didn't have a chance to say anything and she was injecting his fatal dose....only it wasn't enough...she proceeded to pull 2 more chunks of hair from his other arm and injected his final fate. Had I not been completely flabbergasted at her performance I would have said something, but it all happened so fast. I was 11 minutes from the time I walked in the door , had this tragic experience, paid the bill, $341.00 and got back in my car... They have made me appreciate how very lucky I am to have the Veterinary Clinic I do have. I have gone through this procedure many times before....never, ever seen anything like this????

Great with my pets, awesome hours, not pushy in regards to what to have done with your pet, non judgmental. I hadn’t had my cat in for a vet visit in years and they didn’t judge me. Just did what we were there for, which was exam and vaccinations. Great place and staff!

Gardiners Road Animal Hospital looked after my cats needs on a holiday Monday, my cat was in a crisis and I was so grateful that they were opened period!! Dr. Farooq takes the time and patiently listens to my concerns and has been very helpful with the different ailments my dog has experienced. I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for the level of care my three furry family members have recieved. Never in all my years as a pet owner, have we had such an amazing vet as Dr. Farooq and his staff. I really believe that they care about your pet and their wellbeing. They have helped us with our dog and two cats. They have amazing after care, the prices are good and he works with you to find the best treatment. Most recently he helped our one cat and was truly that super hero that came to the rescue. He was honest about all routes available to us, pros and cons. As long as we are in this town he will be our vet. P.s if we ever move I would even travel to keep our pets here with them for care.

Took my male Siamese in because of vomiting. Diagnosed with pancreatitis and stayed overnight. In the cage on the way home he was struggling to get out and very distraught. When I let him out, his hind legs were crippled. He was so traumatized he barely left my arms for two weeks. He was there from 11 am till 5:30 pm next day. What did they do to make him crippled and so terrified?! I do not recommend this place. Apparently he should have had a full pill not 1/2 pill of antibiotics for his weight. They gave me a liquid as a food stimulant. He hated it and was eating well so I stopped giving it to him. Later found it was actually to cost his stomach to cause less pain. Gardiners Road Animal Hospital was very responsive to the needs of our 11 month old cat last Monday. He was having trouble urinating and we expected some sort of urinary tract infection. We called first thing on Monday morning and they were able to take him at 10 am. The treatment protocol was very comprehensive and effective. Although treatment had to be explained over the phone due to covid restrictions, the vet was very thorough and took all the time we needed to answer any questions. He clearly cared about our cat's outcome and wanted to make sure he didn't leave anything to chance in terms of his recovery. The office has called to follow up on two occasions which we appreciated and again shows that they are willing to go the extra mile to ensure client's success and satisfaction. They also have great hours, both through the week and on the weekend, which minimizes the extra cost and stress of having to get a pet into an emergency clinic or hospital. We also had our cat neutered and vaccinated at Gardiners Road Animal Hospital. He recovered quickly and the costs were very competitive.

If I could give a lower rating I would have. We were very displeased and dissatisfied with the service and care. The lack of respect for our cat and us was very distasteful. Dr. Umar Farooq gave our cat a medication strictly for dogs. He was sure to cover the label on the medication warning it is toxic for cats and only to be used on dogs. When we discovered, we contacted the hospital. He tried to tell us there is a database other veterinarians use to share their research. Therefore confirming he used an unconfirmed method of treatment. He admitted to his malpractice. He asked if I had a medical background, I said I a simple research and reading of the medication label was all it took. The fact he took our cats health, her hearing into his own hands and treated with a risky method WITHOUT our permission is alarming. What other animals has he caused further harm to? A close friend had a similar experience. I would NEVER recommend a vet who disregards his client (our cat) and her owners rights. We have the right to decide her course of treatment. If we would of continued with his course of treatment, several vets confirmed she would have permanent damage to her ear, and more than likely deaf. Do not risk the health of your fur babies with someone who disregards his patients rights.

This place is awful, if you love your pet you will take it elsewhere. They will call you obsessively until they have throughly nickel and dimed you. They soaked us for an x-ray, 3 different types of antibiotics that didn't work and then a mucus swab test for $200 that we never seen the results of. They stopped calling us completely after the we paid for the swab test and they had been calling us almost daily before that. Our cat was limping after visiting them due to being wrapped in a towel and being held down. And this cat is one that never stops purring, the kids can carry him around upside down like a baby and he just loves the attention. Not at all a difficult animal to deal with. If you love your pet, and care about how it is treated you will avoid this place.

We took our 4 yr old cat to the Gardiners Road Animal Hospital with what we thought was a broken arm, but the vet diagnosed it quickly as an infection and abscess and with an antibiotic shot, some pain killer and some anti inflammatory to take home, our kitty was better by the next day. Fantastic treatment, fast, professional and thoughtful. We are super delighted to have found this clinic! Thanks to the staff and vet!

I could not recommend a clinic more highly. Dr. Farooq and team have gone above and beyond for both myself and my dog. They have taken us on no notice, answered calls on holidays, and been extremely compassionate and patient even in my times of panic. When our puppy had a very scary reaction to a medication that is commonly recommended to treat a parasite, Dr. Farooq consulted with an internal medicine specialist and did some research to find a less common alternative that WORKED! Dr. Farooq went over all options with me and always respected my choices. They followed up after each visit to check in. They continued to work with us to find proper nutrition to get our dog's GI system back on track and healthy. In lighter note, we love the convenience of text reminders, online booking, and our online profile to review our dogs medical history. The hours of service are unbeatable. These compassionate people work around the clock for our pets. Their dedication shines. We would not go anywhere else. Thank you for all you do!
