This is a butcher shop. Were hung up on twice when called. Were spoken to rudely by a male receptionist. "Vet" refused to fax a prescription for a thirty dollar cream two days in a row. Forced us to leave work early to pick it up there. this clinic is definitely a CHEAP one and not an "inexpensive" place.

I had taken one of my puppies previously to a clinic near by and all of her vaccines and preventative care came to 400. Today I took two of my puppies to East side animal hospital and the total came to 515 for two puppies. The only thing that is really bothering me is that they don't offer on site fecal examinations. They said they will have to send it to a lab and the process will take 2 days, but hello isn't this an animal hospital?? What kind of hospital doesn't have on site lab or even a mini lab?? It's really really bothering me

We decided to visit this animal hospital because of its low costs and the reviews looked good - our kittens needed two shots. The vet took a rectal temperature first instead of trying to take their underarm. There was no warning or support to hold the kitten down, he just stuck it in there. Poor kitties, they freaked out. When it came to the shots, with no guidance or help, the vet just went for it. The kitten was not held down and was just sitting on the examination table. I thought he would have held the kitten securely so that they wouldn't move or try to run away as the needle was in them but nope. I was terrified the needle would break. After the first needle, my bf held our kitten but still we don't know how to hold them in a position where they can't move. The first vet we had ever went to (not this one) had an assistant come in the room hold the kitten and they did not even panic or freak out at all. This vet, ugh. It was a horrible experience.

Made an appoint with them today at 5:30pm. I called them at 5:30 pm, since I was still stucking in the traffic. I was trying to tell then I will be there in 5 minutes. This is the first time i went there, I got off from the wrong subway station. No one answered the phone. It was directly transfered to voice mail box and said they were closed. I took 2 hours get there, but they was already closed. Why are they accepted the 5:30 pm appointment even they are close at 4:00 pm? Why no one call me and tell me they will close at 4:00pm. The worst experience every. Waste half a day and I even left work 2 hours earlier for this.

Amazing service, friendly and cost effective. He takes pride in his work and is always friendly and tells you the truth sometime even when it is bad news. Exam prices are excellent and carries an assortment of food, supplies. He is moving across the road to the plaza on the south side of Kingston Road so if you do not find him at the old location, just look across the street. He also has a second clinic and his hours are good.

Took my yogi bear in for his ear infection and the doctor did a great job diagnosing the issue and treating my dog. The front desk lady was also super nice and helpful :) will probably make this our go to veterinary clinic .

This rating is purely on the customer service skills. I am hard of hearing, and the gentleman that I spoke to seemed to disregard this information. I made 3 attempts to make an appointment to have my cats seen for their rabies vaccinations and get annual examinations done. Finally someone answered the phone and we were able to make an appointment but I'm not sure if there was some miscommunication between us and him, or him and the schedule but we were booked for a time slot long after closing hours, which of course, nobody would answer the phone to rectify. We have no experience with the care from this vet, so I cannot speak to that. This may be a perfectly fine vet, but we will be finding another vet for our pets.

I rarely if ever write reviews. However, I cannot ignore the experience I had today with Dr. Suresh and his staff. If you are looking for an honest, clear and knowledgeable vet look no further. During, our present pandemic crisis, I called several clinics, left messages and received no response to have my kittens examined. Dr. Suresh returned my call the same day, answered all of my questions and then suggested I call back to book an appointment. I thought travelling 15km to the clinic was a bit out of my way. However, I am so glad I did! It was worth the drive. During, the examinations, Dr. Suresh made me feel very comfortable. My kittens were in safe hands. I was given many options and didn’t feel pressured with the choices I made for them. Costs are very fair. I was asked several times if I was sure about the costs and if I understood them before proceeding with payment. The prescription worked immediately. Dr. Suresh and his staff treated us with extreme care. For the first time in my lifetime of owning several pets, I walked out of a vet clinic feeling like I didn’t overpay and I was eager to book the next visit. I am a customer for life. You will not be disappointed!

I went to this vet as my regular vet had noticed that my dog had a cracked molar probably due to biting a bone or a toy, mind you this was a thorough examination and that was the ONLY tooth that was problematic. Went to this vet, he also did a thorough examination and I left expecting to pay for just one tooth. On my return he advised that he ended up removing 7, that he did not advise during the examination and did not actually show me the teeth or what was wrong with them, AND as if that wasn't already strange enough he left a siringe in my dog's paw, that we had to u turn and return to their office when I noticed it so they can remove it . Overall the whole thing was veeeerry suspicious. I wouldn't recommend this vet.

Came here for shots and an exam for my new puppy. Prices looked good so figured id check it out and if it checked off id make the doctor my permanent vet. Result? Think ill go somewhere else. If i have concerns about my pups low rbc and ask how i could manage it i expect my vet to educate me and not push a service. When i come with my pups vaccine history it shouldnt be up to me which vaccinations i should give her. I shouldnt feel like im the vet when doing a check up for my dog.

Save up a little more money and go elsewhere. This is by far the worst veterinarian clinic that I have had the displeasure of visiting. I spoke with the receptionist, Shannon, twice last week. She is the only reason I decided to visit this clinic because her customer service and telephone etiquette are excellent. However, the vet, Dr. Suresh Prajapati, is a rude, dismissive, and irresponsible vet. While speaking with Shannon, I asked if the vet can check to see if my cat is spayed (we adopted her and she did not come with a health record), and I was informed that the vet could check on the day of our appointment. To my disappointment, the vet not only refused to check, but he also rushed my entire appointment -- mishandling my cat and making her feel even more frightened. He also forgot to close the exam room door, and my cat almost ran out! The only good thing that came out of this appointment is that my cat got her essential vaccinations. I will never revisit this clinic! Word of advice, stay away from this place. EDIT: Thank you for your explanation, Doctor. However, this doesn't negate the fact that you did not even try to check for the spay scar on my cat, which supports my previous argument that you are dismissive. Sure, an ultrasound can confirm if the procedure was done, but that doesn't mean you should avoid all other investigative means or measures. Have a wonderful day.

I have been going to this vet for a couple years now, and every experience has been very professional with reasonable prices. I brought my dog Polar today to extract some teeth while also getting his teeth cleaned as well, and he was well taken care of. Dr Suresh carefully explained the aftercare process and answered any questions I had. Overall great experience and will continue to take my dog here.

I took my cat and dog here for years. Dr. Suresh was always kind and patient with my pets and my questions. When discussing optional services, I never felt pressured or guilted into spending the extra money. He looked after neutering my puppy and everything went perfectly. Sadly I moved out of Scarborough and have to find a new vet

Very happy with my experience here! I wasnt pushed into spending more money than necessary and they really took the time to figureout what was going on with my pomeranian. The veterinary assistant Kaiesha was amazing. I was nervous going in and she made me feel comfortable right away and really took the time to bond with my dog that suffers from serious anxiety issues. If youre looking for a high end over vet, this isnt it. This is a reasonably priced vet that cares about animals and doesnt charge you an insane check up fee on top of other services. This will be my vet from now on :)

Absolutely great animal hospital. My dog had teeth removed yesterday. They were amazing. The doctor explained every part of the procedure before hand and gave great post operative instructions. This was my first visit but I will return with my pets!

I do not recommend this place. My little dog had ben seen this place for regular visit. Two weeks ago, I took my little one there since there was concern he may have cancer. The vet checked by charging $50 extra for going inside his annas and told us it may be cancer. when we asked him whether he could refer a specialist. he said NO. After we got home, I started calling the specialist by searching online and found out that the most of places do not take direct call. It means we have to be referred by the vet. It ended up we had to go to another vet to get exam so that the vet can refer us to a specialist. This place takes money but does not do work. Also vet and staff are not friendly to your fur kids at all. not responsible at all not friendly

I regret not reading all of the bad reviews from East Side Animal Hospital! Dr. Suresh is a horrible human being that doesn’t care about animals and one of those vets who only care about money. We had an appointment yesterday for an exam and X-ray, plus all the extra fees the vet decided to lay out and gave us the total before taxes. Besides the point, Dr. Suresh informed us that our dog has a dislocated hip and recommended an emergency clinic. I kindly asked if he could call and transfer the records, he refused and sent me the xrays through email claiming that’s all we will need. We went to the emergency clinic just to find out that we wouldn’t be able to get a quote, unless Dr. Suresh contacted them directly. The time we got to the emergency clinic, East Side Animal Hospital was closed and there was no way to contact Dr. Suresh. We decided to go home and contact more vets about getting an approximate quote. We called Vets Toronto and they were very helpful! They recommended FHO surgery and gave us a quote but we were also still looking around for affordable vets. Dr. Suresh called me today asking if I made it to the emergency clinic, I briefly explained that they couldn’t give us a quote because he didn’t contact them so we decided to go elsewhere. I also mentioned that I was looking around for affordable vets and trying to get an approximate quote for surgery. Dr. Suresh said that our dog needs surgery right away and that I should just hand him over to the humane society if I cannot afford to pay for his surgery. I told him that I was arranging an appointment with Vets Toronto which I did after hanging up the phone. Around a half an hour later I get a phone call about a report being made on our dog not getting proper care! Dr. Suresh literally harassed me less than 24 hours after our appointment and then has the nerve to make a false report. I had a friendly conversation with whom he made the report too, they were very understanding and stated the report as “unnecessary.” My dog isn’t abused nor neglected. I’ve been searching for affordable vets and quotes since I left the emergency clinic yesterday. I went to Vets Toronto today, they did an exam and gave me the exact total for surgery. They completely understood my reason to search, compare vets, get quotes and didn’t judge me based on what I can only afford. Vets are expensive and we all know that! Dr. Suresh on the other hand doesn’t care about you or your animals, if anything he will try to take them away! Well nice try and thanks for nothing! I hope you enjoy your overpriced vet bill because that’s the last cent you will ever see from me. I do not recommend East Side Animal Hospital and look out for Dr. Suresh. He’s a Jekyll and Hyde in disguise.

Took our cat for a blood test so she could get her leukaemia shots done on a later date. We warned the vet that our cat doesn't always like other people but is always fine with us. The vet proceeded to get a muzzle and put it on her that covered her mouth and eyes. At this point our cat started to freak out and the vet took her to a different room. We could hear our cat screaming, crying, and sounds of something banging for a good 5 minutes. When the vet brought her back she was panting, tongue hanging out, covered in feces, and blood. Her neck had blood around it from the vet attempting to draw blood and he told us he might not have gotten enough for the test to work. Her back right paw had blood on it from one of her claws being torn. Extremely dissapointed in how much our cat was harmed during this experience. We managed to clean her off after and obtained no scratches and she didn't squeal. See photos of experience and post clean of our baby doing okay. Hopefully her claw does not get infected and her neck heals. Other reviews praise this place for their cheap prices but the price isn't worth the pain to our cat.

The veterinarian and their staff clearly do not care about the animals that they are treating. They are not caring, gentle, or comforting. I took my 2 kittens here for their vaccines, 1 of which needed deworming as well. The kitten that didn't need to be dewormed was dewormed literally that morning from our regular vet, yet the staff kept insisting he needed to be dewormed right then and there again...Reading the other reviews of pet owners and their experiences here sicken me. This veterinarian is horrible. You may be saving money going here but it is not worth it when you consider how terrible the service and treatment is.

To start, this is my pet owning approach: My kittens were adopted from a breeder after interviewing several to find one who was super loving and i knew their 8wk intro to the world was well socialized. They each have trupanion insurance from kittenhood with no pre-existing with all the add-ons ie natural medicine, behavioural training, etc. It’s very important to me that they don’t get traumatized at the vets and lovingness is important to me. My babies have received nothing but love since birth. Especially during covid when we can’t go in with our pets going into an unknown place. Something about this vet didn’t sit right with me. He didn’t have the warmth that i want in a vet based in his interaction with me. i would pay more for gentle kindness. Something didn’t feel right to me, so i left after our interaction. The people leaving bad reviews might have sensed what i sensed. Went instead to a vet who has won veterinary awards from Now magazine. What a difference! They met me with the warmth that I want my pets to receive. This vet reminds me of the impersonal interactions of medical staff in human emergency rooms. Your a number for their shift and here i feel your pet is a number. Is he competent? I couldn’t say because I left after interacting with him. I didn’t trust him that he’d be warm and gentle with my feline children.

Terrible. The doctor barely told me what was wrong with my pet and then processed to tell me I should get an xray which costs $200 because of the way he reacted to the temperature check. I felt as if the vet did not care about my pet, rather only the money. I went to another vet recently, a few months after this place. They discovered a few things that this Doctor failed to notice. They even asked me how this doctor did not notice these things and I asked the same question as well.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! I came here previously for my cat. The doctor had no clue what was going on with my cat. They prescribed her medicine which made her a lot worse. We took her again a few days earlier and they just gave her the basic iv fluid. I've had to take my cat at the emergency vet because of this. MY PET IS SO WEAK AND CANNOT SUSTAIN HERSELF. PLS EXPLAIN WHY I PAID HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO TAKE HER TO THE VET AND THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! They have cost me hundreds of dollars which is not cheap at all. They truly did nothing to make my pet feel better.

I recently came over to this clinic because my dogs vet passed away a few months ago, I must say i am Very impressed with the way the staff handled my dog. The technician Kaiesha is always so nice and gentle with our pup, she weighs him, give's him treats and also will bring him water if he looks like he's in need. She is very easy to get a long with and you can tell she's very much educated on her job always give me the best advice a long with the doctor, he handles my dog with lots of care, interacts with him before vaccine's or getting his anal glands done so he's not so nervous. can be a bit expensive, but it is worth it.

Today I visited this animal hospital to pick up medication for my dog, I had spoken to dr suresh last week regarding an ear infection my dog gets chronically. I guess Dr.Suresh is away on vacation so I was unable to speak with him regarding my dog this week… the new doctor that is taking over dr suresh was rude and only concerned about the money I was told that I could purchase over the counter ear medication at shoppers drug mart which I thought mhmm!! Ok, I left and phoned another animal clinic and they told me that it wouldn’t work and not to waste my time nor money!! The doctor also said something to me about oral medication which with dr suresh I have never gotten!! I will NOT be returning to this clinic until dr suresh comes back… Whoever reads this I do not want them to think this is not a good clinic because that is not the case at all! Dr suresh and his receptionist are amazing people.

Horrible I called to book my dogs first appointment. I made it clear that I co-owned dog with breeder and only required his shots. Although they are as affordable they claim they tried telling me that certain shots were mandatory such as deworming which is not the case when I told them that It was not since he was only 12 wks and already had 3wks of shots times 2 vet then said I had to pay to do fecal sample if I didn't want to have deworming done even though I had proof of previous shots ..... they maybe affordable but they make up for it by enforcing other items and claiming they are mandatory when they are not and most people do not know better .... Vet is a scammer Do not go.... many better vets in the area. VCA a few blocks west they are excellent. Price may be higher but since they do not enforce anything that is not actually mandatory you'll end up paying the same amount if not LESS!!

I went to this clinic sept last year.My dog had an ear infection.The vet told us that he has to take the sample and look at the microscope what kind of bacteria (charged $25) then after 10minutes he charged us antibiotics which he said thats what the lab.test result the bacteria is sensitive to.Then he charged us 60$ for ear drops Canaural which later on i checked Amazon that its only 18$.Then he checked my dogs fur and insisted that the tiny dust is lice and told that 25$if i will have my dog vaccinated .All in all i spent $198. Going to this clinic is like riding to a cab to which the meter goes up every seconds.I am doing this review just now bcoz todayi found a very affordable, reasonable price vet .Spacious for sick dog.Gentle and my dog got well. Vet clinic shd not only think about money .They shd not take advantage of the time when our beloved pets are sick and all we have to say is yes doctor.

My kitten had her first appointment with this vet today & everything turned out very well. She did great. She was spayed , they even clipped her nails for me & cleaned her ears that needed to be treated for ear-mites. Dr. P Is very knowledgeable, understanding & caring. He answered the phone personally to answer any questions or concerns I had before taking her here for surgery. He is very nice & the prices are good too. I definitely will be bringing her back from now on. Thank you to you & ur receptionist there for taking good care of my Mya. See you soon for her post surgery check up!

Took my puppy for vaccines, good impressions all around. Receptionist was courteous and prompt. The vet explained various options etc well. Also got microchipped as a result. The rates were extremely reasonable. Added as the primary vet for my puppy and recommended toy son, too.

East side animal clinic was great with my kitten. First time ever taking my Wolfe to this vet and they were awesome. Picked up my boy the same day I dropped him. The procedure went smooth, my poor boy made in his carrier and the clinic was kind enough to clean Wolfe and the carrier. Wolfe ended up vomiting due to pain killers and anesthesia I was worried and the clinic was able to squeeze me in last minute the same day. They gave him anti nausia meds and some probiotics. Since then my boy's been feeling great. can't forget to mention the affordability this clinic provided. Definitely recommend this clinic.

Dr. Suresh is amazing! I adopted a senior rescue dog who needed a lot of work done. He had 4 broken teeth and 1 large tumor taking over the whole front of his mouth, as well as a smaller tumor on his gums and a strange "corn-like" growth on his back paw. Needless to say, I was very concerned about the dog going under anesthesia due to his age, and all the work that had to be done, but Dr. Suresh was extremely patient and understanding. He took the time to address all of my dog's issues, and did the pre-surgery bloodwork/exam and the surgery itself at a very reasonable price. I was able to book my dog's surgery almost immediately. Pre-surgery I was able to speak to Dr. Suresh in detail about everything to be done and realistic expectations post surgery. Although it was quite an extensive and difficult procedure, it went off virtually without a hitch! I'm extremely grateful to Dr. Suresh for his personalized care and patience with my boy. When I went to pick him up he was still quite groggy, but Dr. Suresh was checking his heart and monitoring his vitals and he and his staff assisted me in getting him into my vehicle. Dr. Suresh gave me his personal cell phone number should any additional issues arise over night. He also patiently provided detailed follow up instructions, including a post-op check up to be scheduled in about 10 days free of charge. This morning Dr. Suresh phoned me again personally, to check on my dog's recovery. My boy is doing great! He's pretty much bounced back almost completely since his major surgery yesterday, and I couldn't be happier with his progress and the amazing standard of care he received at the East Side Animal Hospital. It is worthwhile to note as well, that Dr. Suresh also owns and operates the O'Connor Veterinary Clinic and I will be taking my dog there for his post op checkup since the location is a bit more convenient for us. Thank you so much Dr. Suresh and staff for the great experience with my senior dog's complicated surgery!

Most unreliable place to take your pets, if I had a second chance I wouldn’t think twice about paying double or even triple for my little kitten. I brought it to this place for a vaccine and also let him know my pet is just recovering from respiratory illness, but the doctor sort of brushed it off and said it’ll be fine, he just rushes on to the next steps, just to be over and done with my pet. I also made sure to know the price before hand and they said it would be around $50-60 but the bill ended up being around 100+ from which I had to manually deduct. Save your pet and yourself the rouble and don’t go here.

I recently adopted a kitten and I’m a first time pet owner so I planned to ask the vet a lot of question to clear my doubts. The vaccination process was fine except I wasn’t told the vet is applying deworming and flea prevention which I didn’t ask for. I’m also worried whether he actually vaccinated my kitten because he struggled a lot. Then I asked the vet some questions such as how do I know when my cat is over-grooming. He replied it’s normal for cat to lick themselves. Then I asked so is it okay if the cat is licking themselves 24/7. He said yes. I should mention too the bill included a $35 consultation fee. So in my mind, I’m like this vet is kinda weird and ignorant. Wouldn’t recommend going to this place unless it’s urgent.

Brought a mother cat and sick babies in I was fostering because they were having stool issues from worms and had fleas. The vet did not tell me anything they were checking for or what they thought about their health at all. They brushed off my concerns and questions the whole time. I then had called back with questions about medication and the new female receptionist was rude and brushed me off as well and then hung up the phone before I was done talking. They do not care about the animals well being or your concerns, go elsewhere

Absolutely horrible vet had no regard for our pet. The man was extremely rude Mr. S, he's not our regular vet came to them as our vet did not have any space and they essentially made it feel like they didn't care for her life. He was very threating when trying to give him information about our cat, and handled our cat so care free in all my years I've never heard and animal scream like that and she's seen many vets. Highly recommended looking elsewhere so many better options close by trust me!

I took my 4 and a half month Siberian kitten to get her laser declawed and the Doctor and staff was very Professional and kind. My kitten experienced no difficulties in a matter of a week she was healed. The Doctor explained everything he was thorough and affordable I even got her micro chipped for a small fee of 50 dollars. The place is very clean and neat. And last of all Shannon was so helpful and everytime I called about questions about the surgery afterwards for my kitten she was always ready to answer them all. I highly recommend this animal hospital it’s purrfect . Thank you Dr.prajapah and staff . Happy holidays to you and your staff.

I called to pick up some dog food and was told that I would need my dog to be seen for her to get the food. A complete money grab, as no other vet clinic requests this. I would not be paying this much for specialty food if my dog did not need it. Would not recommend, as if they request a service that costs a lot of money just to buy dog food, what else are they charging extra for.
