I went to this vet for the very first time at 11 pm terrified thinking my dog fractured his paw but I walked out of there so happy. Their customer service is beyond excellent, from the receptionists to the vet herself. The vet was very good at her job, she was able to examine my aggressive dog with no hesitation. As soon as I got home, my dog felt so much better. He was back on his feet in no time due to the pain medication the vet provided him. I am beyond happy with them and would highly recommend this place. Prices are definitely affordable compare to other vet clinics I’ve been to.

We were looking to neuter our bunnies and called up Dr. Kerolos. The prices she gave us were so affordable that we booked the same day! She neutered two of our netherland dwarves. As this was our first time neutering the rabbits, we were very anxious about the process. Dr. Kerolos constantly checked up on us and made sure that our bunnies healed up safely and properly. She is now officially the new vet to our rabbits :) she and her staff truly care for the pets that arrive in their clinic. I highly recommend this hospital!

There are no words to to express how amazing this clinic is , Dr.Kerolos and her team are all so amazing! Being a 1st time puppy parent with a bad experience with the first vet I could find previously , to coming here in desperate need to find a vet whom I can trust with my baby for her spay surgery .. it's been simply magical. The clinic has a very good aura and atmosphere about it, very clean and includes a few "Kitty Security guards" roaming around to keep you company if the team is a bit busy at the moment. You can tell that Dr.Kerolos and her team really loves animals and they are driven by the need to ensure that the patients are well taken care of and healthy. She was very personable and professional, she had preferred to keep my puppy over night for surveillance post surgery (as she is very through and attentive with her work) but was very accommodating to allow me to take Panda home later that evening as everything went well and my anxiety wouldn't let me be able to sleep. The following days post surgery she was very attentive and informative to my inquires via email or by phone. Today Panda got her sutures out with ease and she is one happy puppy. Panda and I can't wait to visit Dr.Kerolos again to get her flea medication for the summer time . Thank you so much Ajax west veterinary team , you are all so wonderful. Keep up the great work :)

My dog hurt his leg. I thought he definitely broke it because he wasn't walking. Brought him here, the lady who examined him said right away his leg wasn't broken. Unlike other places, they will tell you need to get an X-ray done just for your money. He was given medication to take and discharge right away. Wasn't expensive at all. She even answered the phone the following day even when their office was closed. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. Thank you

I cannot recommend this vet enough. I have been going here for many years, even since I moved quite far away it's well worth the drive! It's a family operated business and you can really feel that they genuinely care. The prices are more than fair and unlike other vets they take the time to explain everything that's going on, giving you great piece of mind. This is the first vet I brought my Maltese puppy to. My puppy loves the vet the very first time so that was very important to me. The vet got to know me and my puppy Coco. She’s honest and genuinely cares about you and your pet. I just love the way she interacts with Coco. It makes me at ease knowing I can call or come in whenever I need to and I’ll have excellent care for my girl. Coco got spayed here too and everything went more than perfect. The incision line is not noticeable at all. This will definitely be Coco’s vet for life :)

BEST VET in DURHAM! We needed an emergency vet for our puppy recently, she was injured around 6:30 in the evening. We called everywhere in Oshawa, Whitby and more. All the other major "emergency" vets turned us away as it was to late or they were overbooked. As soon as we called they told us to come and that they would be there waiting for us. Immediately they took us into a room and began treating our pup. They were quick, professional, caring and compassionate towards us and our dog. Treatment took about 20mins, they reassured us that our dog would be ok but a follow up would be wise and that they would be there if we needed further assistance. When it was time to go they handed us an invoice which turned out to be an amazing price. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Ajax West Emergency Vet. Of all the vets in Durham they're truly deserving of the being designated an "EMERGENCY" Clinic. Thank you Dr. Nagwa and ALL your Staff

If you love your pet, I highly recommend you take them somewhere else. All I can say is that you can purchase google reviews and that really must be the case for this location. The vet took my money, did not care for my dog, and I ended up having to rush him to a veterinary hospital due to his state and the carelessness of this practice. Please reconsider bringing your loved one here!

My cat Kira had fleas when I got her for the first time and after looking around I was able to find Ajax West Veterinary and at 11 pm before before Labour day. I was able to call and take her for a check up that same night. The staff was super friendly and the doctor is excellent at her job. I got alot of information as a new pet owner and have taken Kira recently for her spay surgery. The surgery went well my kitty is healthy and if I have any question no matter the time of day. I can call and get help right away. I would defiantly recommend this location to anyone. I plan to keep coming back for any further appointments. Super helpful staff. Overall great experience.

I took my dog in for vaccinations. They were initially accomodating and were able to make a same day appointment which I was very happy about. However, once I got there I had to wait almost 45 minutes. The Vet was very pleasent and friendly, however was NOT wearing a mask, and was wearing a faceshield pulled up as a hairband so was exposing half of her face. This made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked one of the girls at the front why she wasn't wearing a mask and she wasn't sure either. The vet was also crowded with many people. NOT covid friendly at all. I will not be taking my dogs back to this Vet.

Wow. What an amazing experience we had here at Ajax West Vet. On Christmas Day I noticed that my cat had a rotten incisor tooth. Everything was closed and we were leaving on vacation the next day. I called roughly 30 different vets around Durham Region and the GTA. When I called Ajax West I didnt get an answer at first, so I crossed them off my list, but about half an hour later I got a call from them asking if I needed anything. I explained my situation and they gave me an amazing price on a cleaning and extraction for my cats teeth. I booked my appointment for New Years Eve without any problem. Dr. Abawy was so friendly and she did my kitty's exam at no charge! She explained everything that needed to be done in an easy to understand way. My kitty needed to stay overnight and she didnt charge me for the stay. When I picked him up the next day, which was New Years Day, she explained to me how his surgery was and told me exactly what to do for home care. It was such an easy and stressfree experience and I wasn't charged for all of the extras that a typical vet clinic would have charged for. I am so happy that we found this place and we will for sure go back again if we have any more issues with our animals!

Dr. Kerolos and her staff are just amazing, caring & compassion vets. It’s so wonderful to find vet like her. I recently lost my best friend of 14 yrs my dog Elvis. I was so desperate to find someone on new year eve to come to my house and I found her and called and she came so quick. She examined him gave him meds and I was supposed to come to her clinic for blood test but unfortunately my dog was loosing his battle. He wouldn’t take his meds and was suffering. We decided to say goodbye to him. It was heartbreaking Dr. Kerolos was so sweet and caring to us. She is just incredible and passionate about her job and cares for animals. I'd like to thank Dr. Kerolos. I recently had to put my cat down (my best friend) of 18 years. It was an incredibly difficult situation and I'm happy she was there to assist. When we first brought my cat in she did everything she could to analyze the situation and was quick to make a recovery plan. It wasn't until the blood work came back did we find out the severity of the issue. She went over the results with me and gave me her suggestions. I made the call. During the process she was kind enough to offer me a chair and gave me all the time I needed to say my final goodbyes (this was at nearly 2am in the morning). She was kind enough to follow up with me the day after, asking how I was doing. This was a heartbreaking time for me and she tried her best to make it a little bit easier. I have a 2 year old Yorkie and we will exclusively be using this vet.

What a wonderful and caring Veterinarian. She was able to see us on New Year’s day at 9pm. My senior dog was so very sick, and she managed the situation beautifully. After our visit, she emailed me his bloodwork results and she called me during the week to check up on my baby. Dr. Kerolos is the best. She takes her time with your pet and is happy to explain things as she goes along. I have had animals all my life and I have had many struggles with adequate vet care or finding a vet that cared. I am sticking with Dr. Kerolos. Her hours are a bonus too. My animals seem to always get sick on holidays or weekends.

Our dog Maggie got spayed here. These people were so helpful and nice. They called us to update us since Maggie had to be kept overnight. The prices are very reasonable, and they don’t seem to squeeze money out of you like other vets. This will be the place we visit from now on.

We took our 9 week old Shih Tzu here for her shots! Dr Nagwa Kerolos was fantastic with our little girl. She was very informative and didn’t push anything unnecessary. You can tell she is a vet that genuinely cares about her patients. She is in it for all of the right reasons. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of care is excellent. I am genuinely surprised by the amazing reviews because my experience here was awful. I brought my dog here for the first time as we have moved from BC. My dog has had issues with her glands so we were here to get them expressed and have a checkup as I had some other concerns. I chose them because they were able to get us in same day, rates were affordable, and their rating online was good. When we got there I was told to fill out a form. Before I could finish the form the doctor was rushing me into an exam room. I have been to a few vets now and usually they take a minute to get aquainted with the animal. Not this vet she started right away poking and proding the dog. My dog loves people and is usually very calm and I could tell she was scared. She knew about the glands and went pretty much immediately to expressing them. It was pretty jarring going from barley getting a hello to the doctor making my dog scream in pain. Glands are never comfortable for my dog but being a first time patient it was upsetting to see a lack of care. I was also very concerned they were even doing her glands in that exam room because it was a mess! Did not look sterile or even clean. The whole office didnt look clean. Ive never seen a vet office look so unhygienic and cluttered. I would never trust this place to do a surgery on my animal I would be genuinely concerned about infection. Once she was done she brought us out of the exam room without letting me ask about any of my other concerns. The appointment was litterally 5 minutes... For a first time visit. They tried to give my dog pain meds which were unnessesary so I declined. I did accept antibiotics but even with those I had to ask the doctor about instructions because they were just rushing me out without any information. They also left my dogs bum covered in the gland fluid. I actually had to return from my car and ask them to wipe her up so it didn't get all over my seats. I was the only patient in the clinic and they werent closing for another few hours so I have no idea why they felt the need to rush a potential new patient like that. The exam fee is about $60 where as most in the area are about $80. They also took the gland expressing fee off since I needed to get antibiotics and they offer a free followup visit. Thats all great but I guess you really get what you pay for. I would gladly spend an extra $20 for an exam if it means getting a doctor who wanted to actually listen to their client and an appointment longer than 5 minutes. In fact Im so upset about the whole visit that im not even taking them up on that free appointment. I am going to go to a different clinic and pay again so that I can provide my dog with a proper checkup. I want to make it clear that I do not expect the world from a vet. I have been to many vets and doctors as she had a lot of issues when she came to me as a new rescue and a lot of them can be quick in appointments but this experience actually made me emotional when I left, it felt very careless and cold, and a complete waste of money. It was a simple check up and gland express which is the most basic of appointments. There's so reason it should have been anything but standard. I understand vets are expensive so we want to save money where we can but this appointment was as basic as it gets and it was a disaster. I tried to save money and now ill being paying another appointment fee to get proper care. So.. It wasnt worth saving a few bucks.

Our beloved Great Dane collapsed with a dislocated hip last Sunday. I contacted our dog's vet, who had been treating her since she was eight weeks old, and lately for various ailments including her hips and legs. I did not hear back so followed up on Monday. They said they were "busy" so I should contact a mobile vet. Left on my own, with a dog in excruciating pain, I found Dr. Dr. Nagwa Kerolos of the Ajax West Clinic. She spoke to me on the phone, and with great compassion, came out to put our Dane down as soon as her clinic closed Monday evening. She didn't know us, didn't know our dog, but was willing to make the 45 drive to our home and put our darling dog out of her misery. She and her family members knew how to deal with a suffering 165 dog and it was all over in just a few minutes. I can't thank her and her son and husband enough. I live in Uxbridge, but it is certainly worth the 45 minute drive to Dr. Kerolos to get a vet that actually cares.

The owner, a veterinarian and her son, the technician worked on Ruby with such care. The price was amazing. Excellent experience. Took my cat on a Sunday evening on a long weekend. Thought we would have a hard time getting in on top of premium charges - but we're pleasently surprised when we were taken in right away with affordable expenses. Ten stars if I could!! WOW! Dump your old vet and come here. Over the years I had 8 dogs and seen many "Money Vets" who are in it for the money. My dog was in pain over night whimpering and was up and down moving in circles. Called the vet here and they took her right away. My husband was very impressed with the vet's skills and reasonable pricing. They are not going to price you to the point where you could just buy another dog. Because of this many pet owners let there pet suffer or put down due to high pricing. Soooo happy with my new vet! Do yourself a favour and bring your pets here. I'm so glad that I did!

Purolator truck was trying to move it but didn't want to touch it so he gave me some plastic and I was able to get it - was basically hit on the back of the spine and paralyzed at the back but still alive. I brought it to Ajax West Veterinary to humanely euthanize it (after calling them to make sure that they would do this) because I didn't want to leave it on the grass to painfully die and the vet wanted to charge me the technician fee for doing this?! I thought that they would just very kindly put the poor rabbit out of pain but they wanted me to pay to do this?! Even when I refused, I was then asked if I could then pay half in cash?! Very upsetting to say the least - where was the compassion for an animal in pain? I thought that was what becoming a veterinarian was all about - helping out animals.

I have been going to Ajax West Vet since close when they opened a few years ago. I have many dogs i take care of as part of a business and I take all of them here. Dr. Nagwa is the absolute best vet, she isn’t just about taking customers money, she cares for the animals and gives them thorough check ups, she helps educate me and answers all my questions! She is always there in an emergency even if it means working overtime and has never turned me away even when I call her last minute. After a visit With a sick pet she often checks in with me the following day to see how they are doing. She has done everything from vaccines, X-rays, injuries, infections and even euthanasia at an affordable cost with compassion and knowledge! I HIGHLY recommend this vet and hope that anyone whom disagrees would give her another chance, I’ve been to a lot of vets and she is absolutely great! I’m happy and grateful to have her helping me with vet care!

We've gone a few times now, first time was okay, prices were good and service was fine. Second and Third time they had 'emergencies' come up and turned us away at the door (never bothered calling us). The last time they didn't know we'd made an appointment, she took one look at our dogs, told us she'd need surgery for one and an ointment for the other then charged us $190. I will never do business with this organization again. They are thieves.

The staff at this practice are amazing. I just found them back in March of this year and will never go anywhere else. They came to my home to euthanize my dog suffering from bone cancer. The service we recieved that day was excellent. When my other dog needed stitches late on the Saturday of a long weekend, they stayed late for us to rush him in. Afterwards they texted us to follow up on his condition, something no other vet has ever done for us before. Both times the pricing was very reasonable and in line with what i would have paid elsewhere without the extras of coming to my home and follow up texts.

I had a very serious problem with my cat and at first I did not know what to do. This clinic is open till 11pm and I was able to get the vet on the phone and they explained what probably happened. I brought him in the next day and they figured out the problem from an xray. They fixed him up and he is now on the mend. Also they were very reasonable with their rates.

We are first time cat owners and were a bit nervous as the cat we adopted was a stray. The vet was very kind on the phone and offered to adjust hours if possible to see the little guy. Traffic was terrible to get back to Ajax but spoke with a staff member on the phone and he patiently answered my many questions and gave us an appointment as soon they opened in the morning. My husband took our newest family member to get his first shots and needed treatments and was very happy with the care. My senior dog had what I thought was an eye infection turns out it was a horrible tooth abcess. The care she recieved from the Vet and other employees was top notch. Her pre anesthesia bloodwork showed she was low on her thyroid she has now been on meds for 2 months and is like a brand new dog. This is one of the best vets I have ever been to. My dog had her first litter of pups and we took the puppies here to have their first shots etc. The veterinarian was so knowledgeable and made sure we understood everything that was going on and had to be done. On top of her professionalism the vet was a very gracious hostess as well. The prices are amazingly costly compared to any other vet I've been to, it's worth the drive. We met a few of the puppy buyers at the vet and recommended for them to go there which gives them a 10% discount when they mention my name as well. This is my go to vet in the Durham and GTA!
