I took my cat there today for an examination, and I was impressed with everyone there. They were friendly, helpful, and informative. They provided me a lot of useful information about my cat and his health. I found them very thorough. I was expecting some of the services they provided today and that they would be providing in the future to cost a fortune, but everything was very reasonably priced for what is being provided. I will definitely bring my cat back here in the future and would highly recommend this place to pet owners.

They provide great pet care. Very patient in answering all my questions and kind and gentle with our dog. They spent a half hour on the phone with me explaining everything and going over all the details with me when we brought our dog in. Most recently during Covid-19 when my husband brought our dog in, they came out to the car to get her while he waited in the car. Very professional and considerate, and reasonable pricing. I already recommend them to all my friends and family with pets. I have dealt with other veterinary clinics before, and Silver Heights really stands out as the best.

We were very pleased with our experience at Silver Heights Veterinary Hospital today. We were able to have our dog seen quickly, which was much appreciated. All the staff seemed great: friendly and efficient - both with how they treated our dog, and with letting us know what was going on / how she was doing throughout her appointment (currently you can't go in with your pet due to Covid / social distancing). The treatment worked well and she's doing significantly better now. Would absolutely recommend.

We brought our old boy Axel to Silver Heights Vet and the Team and Dr. were SO great!!! We never felt rushed, he got the most incredible care and solutions, and we even had fun because Jen at the front is hilarious. I appreciated the cleanness of the facility AND the interior design, as a nice touch. A few days after his first appointment, the Vet assistant called to check on how Axel was doing, and asked if there was anything else they could do-- but because of our visit, Axel was doing much better and his pain management solutions were doing WONDERS, even within days :) The last time we were at SHV, Axel got out of the car and actually ran to the door, totally willing to go back -- even though his first experience included needles -- it was so cute! We've also had Axel groomed here and he looked so great afterwards, his nails were done really well and he smelled amazing! I never knew he could be this soft <3 We're definitely fans of Silver Heights Vet, and I recommend considering them for your pet too.

Money pit. Never have i seen a vet so many hungry. I do not think they care at all about their costumers or their pets. They wont even refill medications if their vet is away on holidays that seen your pet. This has happened often with us and our pets, they will leave your pet without meds for 2 weeks untill the vet gets back from holidays. If you choose this vet they will tell you that you need every test they have available and charge you every dime. Then over charge you for meds and put up a stink if you ask for more then a small supply because they charge a depending fee (as most will do) but this will put you at risk of not being able to get a refill as the vet that seen your pet will most likely be on holidays when you need a refill and they will not help you sooner letting them suffer. 1/10 *s

They dig a great job of answering all of my questions, suggested ways for us to address anxiety issues with our one dog and weight and dental for our little dog. Absolute amazing place. My chihuahua was taken care of wonderfully even though we placed a last minute call to them, they told us to come right over. All staff were wonderful and caring. I highly recommend them. Second part: emergency visit today after our little one got attacked by a very large dog, they helped me quickly. The showed so much compassion for how I was feeling as my fur baby was rushed into the back to be tended to. I am so grateful for all the work they did to save our Lilly today.

Highly Recommend! I’ve had many pets in my life and thus have visited many different vets, a few within Winnipeg and several across Manitoba. When Silver Heights opened in my neighbourhood area I thought I would try them and see if I should switch vets based on proximity, and I am sure glad I did! The staff at Silver Heights Vet Hospital are knowledable, animal-loving, and welcoming. They always make you feel like you and your pet are priority number one, because in their eyes you are. The veterinarian Dr.Kahlon is incredibly caring, intelligent and always focused on your animals welfare. If I moved to the opposite end of the city I would still bring my animals here. I have recommended this vet hospital numerous times and will continue to do so. If your fur-baby is unwell, needs their annual shots, requires additional care, or just a general check-up, look no further: Silver Height Vet Hospital is the place I recommend whole heartedly, and so does my fur-baby. Very nice staff, Jennifer in the front was fantastic. However my overall experience was very poor, they seem very disorganized and communication was lacking. Didn’t tell me to not feed my dog before surgery, I knew better and had to ask. Two vets don’t communicate very well I was told one thing and then they did another. Forgot to give me pain meds for my pup after and I had to take her to another vet because they were closed and she was whimpering in pain. Not happy and do not recommend.

I can't say I was very happy with my experience here. I took my sick cat in for an examination just over a month ago and it became more about how much they could sell me than the wellbeing of my cat. Plus their computer system was down on the day I was there which resulted in me spending a ridiculous amount of time waiting for them to come up. I'm sure they care about the wellbeing of animals, but that ideal sure wasn't reflected in my visit.

Good to humans and animals alike. I was skeptical initially about changing vets, but staff really sold me. The vets are nice, understanding and are really patient. The support staff really make sure you and your animal are calm. Everytime we come in they immediately know me and my dog, know exactly how he acts, and gets us comfortable. If you need a vet, I definitely recommended coming here.

Thanks to all the staff for making a very difficult day easier. Making the choice to euthanize your aging, declining pet is very heart-wrenching and there was no judgement, only sympathy & caring. My cat was having a particularly bad week & the appointment was moved up on an emergency basis without complaint, even though we had never visited the clinic before. Running behind on my puppys vaccinations due to financial issues (feed him or vet him type of options) and they didn't make me feel bad about it, they didn't lecture me, they just went with the base vaccinations I need by the bylaws and we went with that Nd will be doing other vaccinations when I have more money. They were great Nd none of them looked at me like I was a bad pet owner. Highly recommend them they are all so friendly.

My visit took place during the covid-19 pandemic, but the staff here was still very kind, thorough, and accommodating. I was unable to enter with my cats due to the restrictions in place for covid, but this did not hamper my experience at all. The visit started with a phone call from one of the vet techs and I detailed my issues to her over the phone and she was thorough with her questions. After that they sent me an email with an accurate estimation of what everything would cost, and after I had okayed the charges one of the staff came out to my car to bring my cats inside the facility. From there I received a call from Dr. Kahlon after he had performed the examination. Dr. Kahlon was very kind and helpful, and very patient with my numerous questions. After the examination was completed, my cats were brought back out to my car. The members of staff who brought my cats in and out of the facility were also very kind and positive. I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital. The entire staff from front desk, and vet techs to the actual vet were all very kind and professional. They are up front about costs so you're not surprised at the end of the visit about how much it will all cost, and from what I can tell from the few vets I've visited their rates are at an honest and fair value. They were also willing to listen to concerns and answer questions in a patient and honest manner. Thank you for all your help!!

We had taken our dog in for what we suspected to be a UTI, after initial blood work and urinalysis (which we collected the urine for them, otherwise that would have been an additional cost),we found out our dog had a major UTI infection that became Systemic and had to be put on a 10 day antibiotic. The bill for that was $600, which was a bit overpriced imo. They gave her Clavaseptin. Exam was done, urinalysis and blood work showed she was healthy other than the major infection. After 6 days we did not see any improvement on our dog and she still had the same issues so we went online and found out that she needed to be taking Zeniquin (which clears up UTIs in dogs, not Clavaseptin, which is for dental and skin infections) So basically they gave her the WRONG meds. They told us to bring her back in for ANOTHER test, we just brought her in 8 days ago and her overall health was fine. So we brought her in again and they charged us for another test (we collected the urine for them again, so no charge for the urine collection) and told us it could be one of potentially four things wrong: it could be stones or a tumor in her bladder (x-rays would be needed), or she is resistant to the antibiotics (they gave us the wrong ones to begin with) and would need another round of antibiotics. We agreed to the antibiotics but they put in an order for the SAME antibiotics (Clavaseptin) that didn't work! We had told them that we went online and found out the antibiotics they gave were not for UTIs and we want her on Zeniquin what she should have had in the first place. We asked why they did that in the first place and they said "We generally start them off on a smaller antibiotic so we don't overwhelm your pets system". I get that part a bit but her system was Systemic, just give her what she really needs. So we got the Zeniquin and she's doing better already. The total bill was $830 for a UTI. We shouldn't have had to come in for a second test, which cost us $230. They wanted to charge for the revisit, but I asked them to explain why? She had everything done the first time around, nothing needed to be done but test the urine we collected. So they did take off the vist fee. And they shouldn't charge for a visit when the issue isn't resolved from the original visit, or not with a 2 week period. I feel if we didn't do that little bit of research and brought it up, Silver Heights would have kept her on the same antibiotics, it wouldn't have worked, then we would have had to bring her back in for blood work, urinalysis, x-rays and more meds which would have been thousands of dollars by the time we were done. I do not feel they they were transparent and forthcoming with the initial assessment and tried to take us for a ride to the bank by playing off our trust in thier skills and emotions about our dog being sick. I will never deal with them again.

Super friendly and informative staff on the phone while making my first appointment, and very flexible and helpful with an appointment time that would work for myself and my brand new and slightly nervous/rambunctious rescue dog. Our first appointment was great! The Dr. Kahlon , the receptionist and the vet techs were so great with my very confused and anxious pup. Our return visit for a booster was complicated by pup being quite anxious and grumpy, the staff was nothing but understanding and patient, allowing us to rebook. Today we were welcomed back with smiles and treats and only the best attitude and care! So happy with the care we have received! The facility is clean and modern, definitely an outstanding team!

We brought our dog in for her annual shots and checkup. They took the time to make sure everything was good with her and found she had an ear infection. They explained everything to us and also addressed her weight and explained to us how to read the bag of food in terms of calories. Super helpful! Also they went through the costs of services so we knew what to expect and there were no surprises. Clinic was clean and bright and vet and techs provided excellent care. We will continue to come there with our pets! It is so nice to have a clinic within walking distance.

I took my boy in to get his nails trimmed, he hates getting this done and gets very scared. As I waited in the lobby I was nervous as I couldn’t see what was happening, but he came out very happy, wagging his tail and his head was up. The girl said he was very nervous so it took a lot of cuddles to help him and I believe her, she was very nice. The receptionist was very friendly. Great service all round. My cat had to undergo surgery due to swallowing a foreign object. After numerous "in case" tests, they proceeded with the surgery. He got sent home with no antibiotics or aftercare. A couple nights later I found my cat lying on the floor, unable to move. I was very frightened and took him to a different emergency hospital. As per the on duty veterinarian, Harvey had a near septic infection inside of his tummy. They immediately put him on IV antibiotics, and had to undergo a second surgery to remove the infection. Needless to say, he spent some more time at the hospital, and it cost me an addition $3,000. I am not a doctor, but I am aware that an infection on the organ after a surgery is likely due to a contaminated sterile field, or bacteria that entered during the surgery. After contacting Silver Heights Veterinarian Hospital to inform of my experience, I was told they did not want to burden Harvey with too many antibiotics. Unfortunately their wish to not burden him with antibiotics would have cost him his life. I was given the option to pay, or euthanize the cat. Nearly $7500 dollars in two weeks is quite significant, for something that could have likely been done properly in the first place. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible experience. I must say, Jennifer at the front desk was very kind and understanding.

This facility is suitable for you day to day veterinary issues. Jennifer at reception is amazing. Based on my unfortunate experience, however, if you are dealing with a more advanced medical situation, I strongly suggest you obtain a second opinion from elsewhere. When I discovered a lump on my dog I took her in and they opted for surgery to remove it. I checked online where the articles were saying a fine needle aspiration comes first to determine what it is. I mentioned the FNA on three separate occasions but the vet insisted on surgery first. I defered to his "expertise" and the surgery went forward. He was unable to remove it all, it turned out to be a mast cell tumour, and by now the tumour had been opened to the rest of her body. The wound took months to heal. She now has advanced symptoms from the cancer, including ulcers in her gi tract and more tumours popping up. The original tumour came back at three times the size. She is in pain and will not survive this, tragically. I originally did not want to post my specific experience (in addition to two other poor ones that I will not get into), but I've had two other vets look at her records and say that is not at all how it should have been handled. My poor dog is only five and wont be around much longer. I am angry and feel helpless.

Staff was super friendly, handled my mischievous kitten like a champ. Were willing to work around my budget by putting priority vaccines and tests first and not everything at once. I did have to help with giving the vaccines by holding him but he doesn’t sit very still so I understand and didn’t mind at all. Was 250$ for all his testing and shots, I’m not sure if that’s a lot for a first time visit for a kitten but he got multiple vaccines so I think that’s pretty good. Were able to book me an appointment the next day, Birchwood animal hospital would be a 3 week wait for general appointments.

The whole staff at the vet hospital was absolutely amazing with our skiddish girl and made me feel so comfortable as well. I got so much information and our cat got the royal treatment. Not only was the entire staff amazing but the hospital was so clean, and I really feel like all of the procedures, medicines and advice I got was worth way more than I was charged. Great value and experience overall - I’m happy to have had my first vet experience here!

This was my first experience with this clinic and it was amazing. My dog was very sick and they explained everything they were doing and why they were doing it. They took their time and answered all my questions. I didn’t feel rushed or anything. I had to leave him overnight and was okay with it because they are so nice there!! We had an emergency with our cat and he wasn't eating or drinking. Our regular vet couldn't get us in for 3-4 days. Silver Heights was able to get us in same day, despite not being a patient. They even called me back 30 mins after to let us know there was a cancellation and we could get in even earlier. When we arrived the staff was super friendly. They provided quotes before proceeding with anything, to ensure we were comfortable with cost. We have now found our new vet.

Way overpriced! They charge you for everything under the sun. And try to keep your pet there for as many nights as you will let them. They did a bunch of unnessary tests on our dog only to find out what it "might be". They guilted us into agreeing to keep our dog overnight when non of their staff stay there during the night. We insisted that we take him home and bring him back in the morning since we would rather him be with someone (especially because he has anxiety when left alone never mind locked in a cage overnight by himself ). Anyways it's a new clinic and I get they are starting out but that doesn't mean you charge for every test you can think of and treat our dog with something you think it "might be". Anyways save your money and go literally anywhere else!
