Was thankful to know my new kitten wasn't 6 months and a girl, was actually 17 weeks and a boy. However, charging me over $25 for a "new kitten kit" with Hill's kitten food is a load of garbage. I thought it had been a welcome to our vet, congratulations on your new kitten thing. That made me want to come back, but seeing it on my bill when I didn't ask for it, no thanks. I'll be getting my kitten's boosters, and getting him neutered, elsewhere. TL;DR: scamming garbage, go elsewhere

This place was fantastic they helped me and my cat who had pancreatitis and helped me learn to give him treatment and were sympathetic to my budget and being a owner and called to ask how he was doing the next say he complete did a 180 as soon as they gave him his first treatment at the vet clinic and has been healthy since that was 4 months ago

Booked an appointment for my sick pet recently for a Saturday. Asked for an early appointment because I had other commitments that day as well. Was given a 9am appointment time. Perfect. Wrote it down and booked a vehicle rental Friday evening since my rental place opens at 9am on Saturdays and I needed to be at the vet for 9. Showed up on time and was told they had my appointment scheduled for 10am and they wouldn’t be able to take my pet sooner because they had some ‘squeeze ins’. They gave my appointment to someone else and didn’t tell me. Was told I could wait or reschedule. I had somewhere else to be at 10am and would be busy the rest of the day so I left. But my pet was sick so I scrambled to find another vet that would see us right away and was fortunately successful. It’s a shame because I had brought one of my pets here over 10 years ago and they were wonderful then but I can’t say the same anymore.

Always have a pleasant visit (our dogs even enjoy going to the vet) vet seems like they care about animals more then money which is awesome. He will say what is and isnt required(our cat started peeing everywhere and a different vet clinic said we needed all done the work done, and 800 dollars later they still didnt know what's up.. we went here and mentioned peeing around the house all of a sudden at 3 years old.. he suggested it was behavioral and to neuter.. OUR CAT STOPPED PEEING EVERYWHERE!!! the other vet didnt even suggest to neuter the cat.. after the neuter we mentioned how we had blood work and a urine analysis done and were told by another vet that we may have to rehome the cat (we have white carpets and he kept peeing on them..this vet shook his head and said from now on you come here, we will never charge you for unnecessary testing cause we would never put an animal through that.

Brought my dog in 2 day ago for his annual shots and heart and lyme prevention. Were told to call when we got there called 8 times prior to someone answering. Once we finally got in waited an hour in the car for a girl to come out with a bunch of nexguard pills 2 different ones no explanation what to do first or when. Upon calling with questions the receptionist had nothing but excuses no apologies and proceeded to say well you had them last year you should know. Will be taking my dog elsewhere going forward.

My dogs just came back from their annual wellness check and I found out from my sister that they extracted one of my dog's tooth without the use of anesthesia. More importantly, they did not let us know beforehand that they were going to do that and it was very out of the blue. Going forward, I hope they give us the option to choose a veterinarian that we trust as the one we had to deal with today completely lost our trust. I support this vet, but today's events could've been way better if there was better communication between veterinarian and client. Update: the vet called us directly and told us the fine details of the procedure. Really happy the did this.

I had both my cats registered at this location; I was told one of them one was a tortoise shell and the other a tabby. Upon moving, I had asked for this vet to send me the files for both of my cats so I could provide them to the new one (which was not decided yet). I was told that this could not be done and that I would have to come in and sign a release form or ask the new vet to send it to them with my signature (still having to go in person to sign). I quickly found a nearby vet and had told them about this request. They mentioned that different vets have different policies but it should not be a problem sending it to my personal email (which was on file); calling back mentioning this information was a disaster and the receptionist was very rude and could not explain further details on this policy (also kept putting me on long holds to speak to the vet with no new information) which was very unprofessional and she was not saying any further than "we cannot do that, it is our policy." I ended up going in person to the new vet and signing the release form which was sent to this vet and my cats files were released. The new vet provided me with their file so I have it in my personal files now. Oh also, it was mentioned from the new vet that male cats cannot be tortoise shell; it would be a genetic mutation and he was a tabby too.

I am writing this complaint about the very unpleasant appointment I had at your clinic when I took my cat there on July 3/18. I was given Dr. Bularca for the appointment and I found that his attitude was extremely disrespectful as soon as I told him my husband and I are semi-retired and are on a limited budget and can't afford a "specialized" diet. He immediately treated me like I couldn't be bothered to take proper care of my pets, was not willing to spend enough money and was therefore wasting HIS time. He barely looked at her! If this vet had bothered to check our records, we have had 5 animals at this clinic and we have spent thousands on their care! Dr. Bulcarca even threw in some nasty comments when I went to pay the bill (which was around $160)! I was talking to the nice girl at the counter about how I, a person without professional knowledge, believed the skin condition is triggered by heat, he walks by and says "That, and other things - but whatever - you don't want to listen!" Well, I hear you, Dr. Bularca, and we will be going to another veterinary clinic where hopefully, the customer and their pets are BOTH treated well.

Right from the phone call to make a appointment down to the awesome office cat, the super huge middle earth looking black one Sir Areolicker?, this place is amazing ! Dr.C did nothing short of making sure I understood the after care required to Elizabeth. Right when you walk in the door you can tell that this place is professional and they are ready to answer your questions and take the time to assure you, what in the end we all know is best for our animal, in the various situations they may be in. Elizabeth came into the hospital with a allergic reaction to something that I introduced to her. Dr.C helped me go through the list of things I may not have known I did and helped me narrow down the culprit. Never once did she bad mouth the culprit or say anything wrong about the care or health of Elizabeth, if anything her professionalism helped ease my mind, as I have two other animals that have not reacted. The staff at the counter were professional caring animal lovers , they talked with me, answered questions freely, and engaged in every other client as they came in, addressing each and every animal by name like they we their own. All my pets...even down to a Beta fish, are and will be part of this family. If you haven't been there your animals are missing out.

They're professional and inform you of your choices and prices before you proceed. People tend to forget that healthcare is private for our pets. They try their best to advocate and accommodate for your pet. I would highly recommend their team. Unfortunately our little Pepper didn't make it. We had Dr. Chartrand and Dr. Neil help us. All staff here have been nothing but kind and courteous over the 14 years I've been bringing my dogs into see them. The doctors always take their time with each appointment and go through things quite thoroughly and will spend extra time to walk thru procedures or to answer any questions you might have. Bought my 12 week old puppy for his 2nd DHP Vaccine and Dewormer. When I picked him up from the vet, he was on the floor on leash which I was very shocked to see as I carried him when we first got there. This is because it is known for unvaccinated puppies to not be placed on vets floors as it has many bacteria and other contaminants they can pick up. It is also known for vets to carry the puppies out when they are not yet fully vaccinated as well (also said by another vet I went to). Due to this, my puppy started getting sick with severe diarrhea, which worsened everyday till he was lethargic and not his usual self. I know vaccine and dewormers have side effects but this was completely different. I do not appreciate this negligence as vets should know that unvaccinated puppies are to be carried!! It is also worthy to note that we do not take our puppy out to other places other than our house and backyard so there is no way for him to get sick besides the vet. We then had to take our puppy to another vet hospital that caused us $300++ to get him medication and testing for Parvo and Giardia to ensure he did not have those. Additionally, consultation prices at Mcphillips animal hospital is overpriced as compared to other vet clinics with a difference of over $20. I suggest looking someplace else. We appreciate the friendly tone and service with the Dr we had but other than that we will not be coming back and do not recommend this vet hospital.

Go else where if your pet needs a surgery! We have had 3 different surgeries performed on our pets by 3 different vets all in the same office, and all 3 have been botched. The surgeries are always more than quoted, and we are left to pay to have there mistakes fixed. I will never be back and will be telling everyone to go elsewhere.

I think that McPhillips Animal Hospital absolutely deserves to get a 5-star review. One of my rescue cats came with a number of health issues that the fantastic staff at McPhillips have worked extremely hard to help manage. The staff have always gone above and beyond to see my pet as quickly as possible and have always provided fantastic care, and clear explanations regarding all medications and procedures. I personally couldn't ask for more, and would happily recommend McPhillips Animal Hospital to anyone looking for fantastic veterinary care.

The vet Dr. Bularca is terrible. I adopted a female cat from them and paid $150 for a black cat, which was to include the spay and first shots. I thought well seems like they are trying to do a good thing here so I went with them. About 2 months after her spay, she started doing the howling and rubbing like she was in heat. I researched why that would be happening and found sometimes things are accidentally left in which will cause a cat to go through the motions of being in heat. Since she's a small cat (9lbs) I can understand missing something so I spoke with the doctor and he was adamant that he's done hundreds of these without issue. But they agreed to take her overnight. Well since she wasn't comfortable she stopped the crying and rubbing. So I took her back home. About a month later she did the same, so again I took her to the vet and played him a video showing her crying, And he replied well it does seems like she's going through the heat motions, he then started going back and forth with what could be done and that most of the tests would fail. At no time did he suggest doing an ultrasound without me having to pay extra. He said I should surrender her back to them and in time if they feel she's doing what I say, they'll operate. My issue is why would they agree to maybe operate at a later time but not take immediate responsibility on the work preformed? They will be taking a cat from a good home and now have to house and feed the cat. Not to mention the $ they are losing by me not taking the cat in for it's yearly shots etc. I feel like they did it on purpose to get me to pay more. Anyone can adopt a cat for free and spays cost less than $100. Now the poor cat is suffering and I won't pay $800 for exploratory surgery. So for the first time in over 20 years of caring for creatures I have to surrender my cat back to them. I only hope they do what's right and fix her properly. Long story short save your money and DO NOT GO TO MCPHILLIPS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!

They were great until they weren't.. with the onset of Covid protocols, Mcphillips Animal Hospital has not been allowing pet owners into exams and appointments with their animals. All diagnoses and consultations take place over the phone with your pet completely in their care for up to an hour for an exam and over 2 hours if looking to do xrays or diagnoses (which they suggest sedating your animal to do). I recieved unclear and inconclusive xrays which had two vets noticing two different issues - one of which turned out to be a misdiagnosis. After telling me I may have to travel to Saskatchewan for a repair of a hip fracture, I was then told I would have to have both ACLs repaired with a 3500-4000 surgery (per knee). I went to a different vet north of the city for a second opinion and I was seen within the week. They have great covid protocols, and still allow owners into exams with their pets. My dog was diagnosed and his first ACL repair surgery done within a week of first seeing this vet, and his second ACL repair is already scheduled in advanced. This vet performed a comparable surgical alternative to the "cadillac" surgery that Mcphillips suggested and quoted $700 per knee - this even included an xray after the surgery. Since the surgery, the reception and vet staff have been more than helpful. Needless to say, I have switched vets.

So thankful for this place, I suspected my cat had a bladder infection which needs to be treated as soon as possible. It was a Saturday evening and most vets were closed by the time I tried to make an appointment, most vets are closed Sunday's AND Monday is a holiday.. So I would have had to go to Pembina 24hr emergency vet (and paid an arm and a leg) But I called here and they told me to come drop my cat off immediately! Service was very fast. Dr. Stockburger called me and was so very informative and helpful.

On August 2017, I brought my dog in last minute because he became suddenly sick. The vet said that there was no other way to help but to put him down. As much as I do appreciate their efforts to taking a look at him in the condition that he was in. I did make it a request to receive the prints of his paws sent to me as that was an option that I was told. I waited for weeks thinking maybe it would have been mailed to me. It’s now April 2018 and I still haven’t received anything so I found that super disappointing that something as simple as a print of his paws were not sent to me.

We had Dr. G. Chartrandsince aw Happy's vet since the first day, last yr we went to see her bc Happy had a bump on his hind leg region. She did not even think it would be cancer she have prescribed all the wrong medications and done all the wrong tests. She is the vet she should of know better, to be honest if you want your pet don't see her, she have no idea what she is doing and she did not care about ur pets. Happy is dying because of her misdiagnosis, Happy is facing death at age of 3 by of her!!!!!if you want you pet to live see some one else instead of her bc she only cares about the amount of money you can spent instead of your pet's life.

I have been taking my pets to your clinic for many many years, my parents took their pets to this clinic as well. Yesterday, I brought in my beloved cat Neil as he was very ill and I knew it was to be the end. I am shocked that I was charged an examination fee of $74.00 on top of euthanasia and cremation. Nothing like trying to make an extra buck during this time of grief. I recall Dr Sundmark ran things much differently. Oh how i miss him and his empathy. He never would’ve been so greedy. My heart is broken and on top of that I feel that I was taken advantage of. Going forward, I will be taking my pets elsewhere. I am enterally grateful for the staff at McPhillips Animal Hospital. I took my puppy to the clinic a couple weeks ago because she vomited four times in the middle of the night. I initially called the emergency hospitals, however, they were booked with surgeries. I had no other option but to wait until the morning and call a regular animal hospital. I called the McPhillips Animal Hospital first thing in the morning and the staff were willing to accommodate my puppy even though they already had appointments scheduled for the day. They mentioned that Dr. Stockburger would assess her when she had time in between her appointments. Dr. Stockburger kept my puppy on IV fluids and did a fecal test and determined my puppy ate a piece of a plant that caused an awful reaction. Dr. Stockburger called me that afternoon and explained her assessment. She was extremely patient and answered every question that I had. She prescribed a medication that helped settle my puppy's tummy due to the vomiting. I would 100% recommend this hospital, specifically Dr. Stockburger, to anyone who needs a vet for their pet.

By far the best vet I've visited. Always friendly, kind and patient. It's clear that pets come first and not money. Sadly this has been the case at other vets I've visited... Furthermore they always offer tips for more pleasant visits by your pets and always offer me suggestions to aid in my Chihuahuas anxiety. His a difficult senior, who was raised without proper care and socialization. The vets at McPhillips Animal Hospital understand this and know how to treat my pet with the utmost care. I have no complaints to date, and I've been a customer for a few years now.

Called in to set up an appointment for my dog. The lady on the phone offered me a same day appointment stating it was available at 4pm. I show up and follow the COVID procedures as outlined. Got there 5 minutes early so I waited before notifying them I was there. Once my scheduled time comes I call and let them know I'm outside. They tell me that the doctor will call me shortly to ask me questions of what brings us in. They told me the doctor will be a couple minutes as they are still dealing with the last patient. I told them I understand and I wait. 15 minutes later I start thinking to myself "this is getting to be pretty long". I give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to wait. Another 15 minutes pass and at this point I'm upset. I call back and they tell me the doctor is going to be a few minutes as they are still with their last patient. I express how unhappy I was that a couple minutes turned into half an hour and counting. They tell me that they can take my dog inside but they can't guarantee he will be seen today. I decide to leave since I had to pick up my daughter from daycare. I get a phone call back which I didn't pick up since I was driving. I listen to the voicemail and their asking me why I left and that my appointment will have to be rescheduled. If it weren't for the urgency of my dog I probably would have not called back but I knew I had to for his well being. I rescheduled for the next day and made sure they were aware of my dissapointment. They offered to give him a nail trim at no charge for the inconvenience. The next day they were very prompt. I got a call from the doctor almost instantly after notifying them I was outside. They quickly came out and took my dog in right away. I had a phone call with the diagnosis within 10 minutes. I know this is above and beyond their normal and I do appreciate their effort. They did mention the nail trim and indicated it on the receipt along with the cost of the diagnosis and medication. I give them 3 stars as they did make up the experience which I do appreciate. As a concerned pet owner the first day was hard to forget. I had to spend another day worrying if my dog was ok. Like I said I appreciate their effort on the second day but I know that I can't expect this kind of treatment every time. The extra effort was definitely there but it likely won't be the next time. The experience was good but I don't expect it to continue.

The problem with u guys is you only help out dog that are nice to u but then when it comes to dogs that don’t follow u, you guys just leave us hanging. Imagine walking from that place to our home for like 40 mins in a cold weather. We even instructed you to do help the dog get inside the kennel because we KNEW you know how to handle it. We know its also our responsibility to train the dog but we hope u understand the situation. I thought you guys give out the best service except this one.
