I would highly recommend McLeod Veterinary Hospital. After ongoing bad experiences with my previous vet of many years after the original owner retired, and a horrible experience this summer when I had to put down one of my dogs who was 11, which in itself was such a heart wrenching day, I could not go back to my previous vet any longer. After some research I decided to try McLeod. I sent an email and received a reply immediately from Angie who was compassionate, caring, professional and very caring. I booked my appointment for my other dog Tucker for his annual visit and met with Dr. Capper. She was amazing, spent allot of time with me discussing Tucker's care and she too was compassionate to my previous situation with loosing my other dog Haley this summer. All of the staff with Tucker's first visit were amazing. And despite our current pandemic and all of the restrictions in place in terms of social distancing, they still delivered compassionate and professional care. This is absolutely my new vet for my current rescue as well as all of my future rescues I plan to adopt! I know Tucker is really missing his BFF Haley who we lost this summer and is waiting for a new friend. If you're looking for an amazing vet, McLeod Veterinary Hospital should absolutely be your choice!

Dr. Crump did my baby girl's spay. I was so happy with the surgery. Although she came home with bowel issues after the surgery, not sure if its related to the surgery but my Marley has a sensitive bowel, even the slightest interruption would cause an irritation. The staff and Dr. Crump seen Marley the last minute due to some bowel issues. They accommodated, reassured and looked after my Marley. They take their time to look after your pet and make sure to keep you updated. Dr. Crump even phoned me a few times to make sure she was okay. I am so happy that I switched to Mcleod Vet Hospital. Had a rough couple of days but Marley is on the road to recovery. Thank you Dr. Crump and all the lovely staff of Mcleod Vet Hospital!

This clinic provides exceptional service. We had to put our cat down and the vet we see, Dr. Kelsey is so compassionate, honest, caring and professional. He never made us feel bad about having to put our cat down. The staff does everything they can to make sure your pet isn't in pain and they go above and beyond anything I've ever seen in other vet clinics. When our cat died, they sent us flowers and a card. They make sure that they take care of everyone there. I highly recommend and would never take my pet any where else.

My 17 year old dog had a sudden health turn last month and we knew it was his time. After calling his usual vet, and hearing that they couldn’t see him until later in the evening, we called McLeod. We didn’t want him suffering. We had never been there before and they welcomed us in and treated us as if we were long term clients. I am still absolutely floored by the kindness and compassion they offered us. The vet (I didn’t catch his name as we were flustered) gave us options and talked through all the options with us. He didn’t push us one way or the other. He knew exactly how to speak to us about such a sensitive topic. He gave our little guy tons of cookies and pats. We weren’t rushed at all. They offered to dim the lights for us as we had our last few moments with our baby. The vet tech that helped us was also incredible. Even during Covid when I’m sure they are tired and stressed, they went above and beyond in every way possible. In an unfortunate turn of events, my parents dog needed to be put to sleep the very next day. My experience at the other vet office was VERY different and made me even more appreciative of the care we received from McLeod. I am so thankful for the overall experience. They made a terribly sad experience a little bit easier for us. I truly hope they know how wonderful they are and the impact they left on us. I will never forget their kindness.

They are super accommodating and have taken us many times on very short notice because my dogs have ongoing health issues, and have both injured themselves a few times. Jax is extremely nervous and it is really great they are fear-free certified. We’ve enjoyed all of the doctors we’ve seen, but Jax, being very nervous, particularly loves Dr. Emily! She always remembers him and is so sweet with him. She is very approachable and helped us through a plethora of issues with both dogs. Dr. Jason is wonderful too, he caught an injury in Jax that two other vets had missed. 10/10 recommend! ????

We had to put our fur baby to sleep. Everyone at the clinic was sweet and wonderful. They let us have time with her before sedation and pain relief, then time with her again, with the lights down, while the sedation worked. We played on the floor with her on a blanket when the vet came 8n and gave her her final needle. They helped us make arrangements for her and were wonderful. Thank God for them because I was a basket case.

I heard good about mcleod vet. One if my babies was sick this morning and I knew she had a fever again. I called this place upset and thought as cat was sick and, I mentioned I thought fever up, they would care and at least check her temperature. No way , i told to take to Bridgewater or pembina. I called plessis as I saw they were opened and they made room. I cannot give plessis vet enough stars for caring, but mcleod if only we could give 5 zeros. I've been at mcleod with my ferret and chinchilla. Never again will I ever go to that place and will highly recommend if someone looking for a place who puts an animal before a dollar, they are not the place to call. By the way , my little one had a fever of 40 point something. Shame on you guys , mcleod vet.

Had my Yorkie to get surgery on her leg and the surgery was poor screw came out of her plate. Wasn't healed had to go to another vet a year later to get another surgery on a botched job they wouldn't take responsibility for. Told us bandage wraps were no charged 4 weeks straight I got charged for bandage wraps. Will never go back again.

The Dr. We saw for our consultation was vary knowledgeable about the options for the surgery and recommended both best possible as well as financially viable options. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I have to go back because they forgot to charge me for the booster shots my dog recieved at the same visit. There is far too much too say about the poor service I received, including having my cats test result in for over 5 hours and not getting notified, (and time was of the essence) to which I had to repeatedly call to only finally get a rather rude response, to having the first of 2 doctors miss the "multiple masses" which I was told by the second doctor there. To having to call around to ask for advice from another vet and calling McLeod and basically having to beg for a referral to another vet out of Province. After asking around I had at least 20 others have similar experiences and some worse than I that way never take there loved one here as all they really seem to care about is the money. And to be honest the doctor admitted they had no idea how to treat my cat and all I was told is" I will have to look it up" supposedly if you claim to be a professional, you should know what your options are. Not the case here and I urge anyone who cares, to seek elsewhere unless you have unlimited funds and care not for your animal. Sickening the "service" I and my cat received and she is now deceased. Shame on you people you sicken me.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! They will gouge you - charging very high rates (they even charge for the 'privilege' of writing a prescription), and they didn't help my pet - he died (after paying out thousands of dollars) and when I complained I got screamed at by the vet in charge. I now bring my pets to Transcona Veterinary Hospital - WAY better, they are wonderful and charge reasonable rates

By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a vet, I would give zero stars if it were possible. I took my cat here back in August because I was concerned that she hadn’t been eating much for a few days. When I arrived for my appointment I was kept waiting for roughly 45 minutes even though someone who came in 15 minutes after me was taken in first. When I saw the vet she did not seemed overly concerned that my cat hadn’t been eating but ran a blood test anyway. She told me that the results did not show anything that would be causing her to not eat and told me that it was most likely her teeth that were bothering her. Two weeks later my cat was still not eating and was becoming increasingly lathargic. I decided to take her in to the emergency vet in Bridgewater where she was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer. The vet I saw there told me there is no way a cat’s teeth would cause them to stop eating. My cat has since passed away but the Bridgewater staff were all great. I have never seen such a lack of concern as I experienced at the Macleod veterinary hospital, I got the impression that they had no desire to treat my cat. I will never bring another pet here again. I am not one to normally post reviews about businesses/services but I felt I had to share my story in this case.

I was struggling to find a Vet. Hospital this morning to take a look at my dog. It was an urgent matter and I really don't trust/want to take him to an emergency hospital. Even my primary Vet. couldn't accomodate us. I called McLeod and Angie answered. She was so sweet and I can tell she really cared about us from her voice and the way she listened to my concerns. She told me they were also pretty booked up but they were willing to see my dog inbetween appointments even though I had never been there before. I brought him in right away and Dr. Emily was so professional and called me twice about my dog. She is so kind and I knew I made the right choice of picking this hospital. She updated me with how he was doing and what steps she was planning to take for him. She wanted to make sure that it would be fine with me first. I feel so relieved knowing how he was doing so well there. They made me feel like he was in really good hands and they gained my trust. I am making McLeod Veterinary Hospital my permanent go-to for my dog and future furry friends. I totally recommend everyone to have their animal companions checked here if ever they need help. When we got our dog, we started bringing her to McLeod as they were the only ones who could (and really tried to) fit us in for her booster vaccines during the summer of 2020 with COVID-19 restrictions still in place. We’ve had only good experiences with our dog there so far. The vets, technicians and front desk people are all wonderful! Our 11 year old cat got sick earlier this year, and McLeod was able to fit him in for an appointment the next day after we called, even though we normally bring our cats to a different vet. The experience we had for that was amazing, and the vet was very kind and offered us different options with price points in mind. Our cat is now doing extremely well and we have McLeod Vet to thank for that! We did choose another vet that specializes in spay and neutering to get our dog spayed since it was cheaper, but that does not change my feelings towards McLeod!

A Wonderful Place to Your Pet My partner and I took our Sick ten year old short-hair cat to get a assessed for her dangerous weight loss. Our Veterinarian Jason was very kind and attentive. He quickly determined that she was severely dehydrated and felt a mass in her abdominal area. After a quick blood test, we were recommended to have an ultrasound. Unfortunately the mass was a tumor that was too big to fully assess. Dr. Jason told us that are options were potentially two surgeries, one to biopsy the tumor and another to remove it. He carefully told us all of our options, including euthanasia. We decided that she was too old to be put through the more pain, suffering and the stress of surgery and recovery. We were given all the time we needed to say good bye to our little friend, and were with her when she was put to sleep. The entire staff was caring and kind. Jason was amazing as he helped us through a difficult time. He was straightforward with costs and options the entire time. Our sad day was made much easier because of these people. When we adopt any future pets, we will take them here and recommend all of our friends to take their pets here.

Once upon a time I recommended this hospital to one and all. Not ever again. Many thousands of dollars later and two very important pets. I would suggest , you go anywhere else. I too was turned away- and sent across town to Bridgewater, because they were too busy 90 minutes before close- to do a blood sugar test for my cat- who was in absolute distress. He was suffering from low blood sugar and behaving in a way I have never seen before, and scared the life right out of me. You cannot schedule emergencies, and just the week before- I sat and waited in car with cat- an extra 45 minutes -for a regular appointment, without complaint- because someone had an emergency. What I learned is- don't have an emergency close to closing time, and don't expect any empathy. On my drive across town with what I thought was a dying cat- someone also had the nerve to call me because I had hung up on them- as I was driving- because I was not happy, and because I was driving. Imagine that- they were insulted, Anywhere, I implore you, go anywhere but here- You're only as good as your invoice.
