Omega, my cat , was hit by a car and dislocated his ankle. I took him to my vet who gave me two options: surgery ($ 4000) or amputate the leg. I was devastated . I decided I needed a second opinion. My friend recommended her vet Dr. Moira . I phoned her office and they got me in the next day. Dr Moira reviewed the files sent over from my vet and came up with another option. She took me to the back and let me watch the procedure as she reset the dislocated ankle and put a splint on. So fast - so efficient. But what I admired most was her honesty. She told me that the dislocation was bad and there was a 50/50 percent chance it would not work. It has been 7 days and I met with Dr. Moira again today to have the splint removed (Omega almost pulled it off) . It looks like the leg is healing. She rewrapped the leg and we will know for sure in 2 weeks if it worked. I am so grateful to Dr. Moira and the rest of her staff (especially Dr.Mike (think that the assisting vets name) and the young lady who assisted). What a great clinic. Thanks so much Omega and Jan

I am very happy with the service I received at Pawsitive. The staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Moira performed an Ovary-Sparing spay on my Aussie. They allowed me to stay with my dog while the sedative took effect so she was nice and calm going into surgery. They worked like a well-oiled machine. The work was clean and beautiful - even better than a plastic surgeon and no ugly external stitches. It healed without complications or scarring. The price was extremely competitive compared to a veterinarian in Alberta. I also had a rabies vaccination and titre testing done for parvo/ distemper through their monthly titre clinic. I was very happy with the results and will not over-vaccinate my dog when she already has excellent immunity. I highly recommend this clinic for folks looking for a holistic approach to pet care. Photos are of my dog on the sofa in the waiting room, 2 days after surgery, immediately after surgery on the way home, and the operating theatre.

(November 2016) We switched to pawsitive a few months ago. Our Kitsu loves Dr. Moira and Dr. Mike. They came highly recommended to us and we would highly recommend them- I am a crazy dog mom. For real, I wouldn't trust just anyone with Kitsu. Love the atmosphere and holistic approach. Kitsu had an emergency and Dr. Moira was right there, on her day off. That's the kind of care you get here. They care as much about your fur baby as you do. We have had positive experiences here. ***Update*** (November 2018) We have been going to Pawsitive for a couple years now. Dr. Moira and Mike are great. I would still highly recommend. They give the best care without selling you stuff you don’t need but will tell you if you do. I love their approach to holistic care. The staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else unless I needed to.

Dr. Moira is the realest!!! Love her very much, highly recommend this practice. Brought our 17 year old Jack Russel in today because she had some facial swelling. I went in feeling very nervous and heartbroken, not feeling very hopeful because of her age. Truthfully wasn’t expecting to hear good news or that there was going to be very much that could be done for her. I know Dr. Moira personally, but our appointment ended up being with Dr. Lavroff. He was so kind and it blew me away how helpful he was and how much information I was given. We got to the bottom of why she was swollen, and he recommended that she be given affordable monthly injections to help her mobility. Shady has been up there in dog years for some time now and no other clinic has ever given me this option! Dr. Moira is an ethical vegan. I don’t know about you, but I personally wouldn’t trust a vet who eats their patients! 10/10 for Pawsitive Vet Care.

Nearly 12 years of caring for my Amina family and Dr. Moira has always made each experience feel like it was the most important visit of the day. Everything from first puppy wellness checkup, to neutering cats and most importantly, the rare emergency visits we had to take somebody in. There was no hesitating to get stuff done asap, also very quick to change treatments when option A didn't work. And even very quick to refer out right away when it was also needed. Incidentally, the 1 time I was not able to get in to see Dr.Moira and went elsewhere for an over dramatic injured cat- I came home from the other vet with a $700 bill including sedation, xrays, and a very expensive bandaid for what turned out to be merely a bite from another cat on his foot. I told Dr. Moira the story and before I even got 1/2 way through she knew right away it was a bite. Would have saved us $600!! Conservative, effective, animal welfare is a priority!

I love this veterinarian and will never take my dogs anywhere else. my 14 year old dog needed surgery and of course we were worried about anesthesia risks. they told us not to worry and everything went smoothly!!! my other dog just had bladder stone surgery and they let my mom stay with him while getting put to sleep. my mom first hand saw all the care staff taking their time and making sure they were doing things right and you could tell how much they all truly care. the Dr does trips to mexico for animals there and i believe she is vegan. if this doesn't show how much she cares about animals, i don't know what does!!!! will never take my pets anywhere else. i trust her and her staff with my whole heart.

Visited Dr. Moira today with my cat Brutus who was having severe mouth pain. All of the staff was exceptionally friendly and made us feel very comfortable. My cat Ollie became suddenly so sick that she couldn't walk. Dr Moira responded by coming into the clinic on a Sunday evening and giving emergency fluids and antibiotics. The next day Ollie was again regressing and once more lost her purr and vomited. I brought her in to the clinic and they kept her another 2 nights. She needed IV Fluids and a different antibiotics. No care or kindness was spared with my cat and I. The staff, especially Taya and Dr Moira were just incredible in making me feel confident that every quality assessment and support was being given to my pet. I felt they actually cared that my cat was sick, and really good and timely decisions were made that meant i didnt loose my cat. It turned out to be a serious bug in her colon and the addition of slippery elm and other complimentary medicine helped so much in her recovery as well. This is the best vet experience ive ever had with a pet. I would highly recommend Pawsitive Vet Clinic

Our 6 year old Bernese Mountain Dog suddenly went ill, losing the ability to walk, desire to eat, drink and go out to the bathroom. Dr. Moira, Dr. Mike spent a lot of exam and testing time to search for a tumour or evidence of cancer. This breed is prone to cancer so they could have surmised our beloved pet had cancer. Through their extensive experience, they tried a combination of holistic and conventional veterinary treatments which saved our dog and she has recovered to her normal healthy and active self. Dr Moira is someone who truly cares about your animals and wants the best for them. She uses lots of naturally remedies for pain, ailments and behavioral issues, which is awesome! She doesn't over vaccinate or pressure you into all kinds of vaccines that your animal doesn't need. Not to mention, Since being with her she has saved us $1000's of dollars!! And saved our animals lives and limbs which other vets were trying to pressure us into amputating. You get to be in the back with your animal while they are being treated ( before covid) and they is an area where you get to sit and hold your animal while they come out of recovery or anesthetic. This vet has had to close her business twice due to incompetency. Stay far away as any other vet in Kelowna will be better.

I have been taking my dog to Dr Moria for over 13 years, and would never think of going anywhere else. In the early years of my dogs life she helped educate me on the importance of good quality nutrition, which I believe has successfully aided in the longevity of my pup. We had a very sick cat with a large access and blood infection (septicaemia ) When we contacted the Pawsitive office to get the vet to see our cat which she had looked after for yearly checks for 7 years we were delayed by the receptionist who said she would talk to the vet and return our call. She did not! When we called back we were told to give this cat who was not even able drink as he was so sick, honey and water. In disbelief I asked to speak to the vet who stated she was leaving the office in 5 min and if I could not be there in that time limit I was out of luck. We had originally phoned so we would have had lots to time to get there but all the delays made it impossible . Note the receptionist never at anytime phoned us. The lack of concern over a very sick animal that she knew, the fact that she did not even bother to suggest alternative care if she could not provide it and callousness which which we were treated with a very sick animal led us to believe this is not the place to take you pet if it truly needs care. We went to Fairfield vet hospital and got excellent urgent care I highly recommend Fairfield vet hospital Avoid Pawsitive if you care for your pets wellbeing!

Pawsitive is hands down the BEST vet I have taken my pup to! Dr. Moira and her team are so compassionate and caring. My dog Foxy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure nearly a year ago, and the care she has received here has been nothing short of extraordinary! I split my time between Seattle and Kelowna, and they always make sure Foxy is well taken care of! When we’ve had emergencies they’ve been quick to get us in to be seen, and have even gone out of their way to ship meds to us in the states when running low. I could not be more grateful for their care and compassion, and feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful vet clinic!! We have been going to Pawsitive Vet Care for about 10 yrs. We got a schnauzer ( Lucy) when she was 4 yrs. old and when Dr. Moira examined her she had a tumour on her leg. It turned out to be cancerous. Dr. Moira treated Lucy, mainly holistically, and gave her 8 wonderful years. When Lucy had to have surgery, we were allowed to stay with her and be there when she woke up. When it came time to release her from her pain, Dr Moira and her staff were so caring. We, now, have another schnauzer, whom we adopted when she was 5 yrs. Both Dr Moira and Dr. Mike have treated her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either Vet to anyone who has a pet. Thank You Dr Moira and Dr. Mike for the expert and caring help you have given our pets.

When it came time to get my cat fixed I did my research and felt that this vet was the right fit. I was disappointed however since I was sent home with absolutely no aftercare information for my cat, they didn't even tell me warning signs to look for for infection (thankfully I am knowledgeable and will get by ok), in fact the only information I received was being scolded by the vet in the waiting room that my cat is fat ( and that was only because she happened to be walking by when I was picking up), no "Hello my name is blah blah blah I was your cats surgeon today" or anything remotely professional like that. I was really disappointed in the lack of concern for my kitten as she heals at home. As far as I'm concerned you could have at least sent me home with a piece of paper, and the vet could have been a lot nicer. Also her little nipples came home bloody from them shaving her, that is just from carelessness ( I am a hairstylist and use clippers every day) My friend got her cat fixed a few weeks ago at a different vet clinic and received a lot more information, her vet even called int he evening to check in. Overall disappointed :(

At our last visit to Dr.Moira with our dog clearly in distress Dr.Moira gave her a couple shots and an X-ray then her assistant handed my wife a hose with a cone on the end of it and said hold this in front of your dogs face and said it was oxygen therapy.At the same time we were trying to listen to the doctor advise us on our next steps ,she advised us to take her to Fairfield hospital for more care and as it was busy at her place we could come back the next day to pay our bill. When I came back the next day to pay I was told Dr.Moira was on holidays and upon looking at my bill she had charged us for a hospital admission fee and a fee for the visit and also for what they called oxygen therapy.When I returned to question her in regards to the admission fee and oxygen therapy I was told the admission fee was for cleanup and laundry stuff and the oxygen had been on for 45 minutes and someone has to pay for it and if she refunded me then she would have to pay for it. I guess that's a lesson learned for me to ask next time what is being charged and why. We weren't even there for 45 minutes and they had my wife hold the oxygen hose to our dog so if you want a do it yourself pet clinic then this is the place to go, and in the end you get charged to do their laundry.

The team at PV is absolutely terrific! We do not trust any other veterinary office. (We have tried many top rated pet hospitals across North America out of desperation) This is not your typical office. They use all forms of treatment holistic and traditional. They brought our very sick and extremely loved pug back to life for many fantastic years. We are blessed with the means to fly or drive our dogs in for care when we are not in the area. We recommend if you need the ABSOLUTE BEST care you do the same. They are reasonably priced which is a steel of a deal when your dealing with the type of care not available anywhere else. One of my biggest fears is what I would do without them. Keep up the good work!
