This hospital rules. Emergency rates are fair and they give honest advice instead of seeking your cash. Brought my cat in and the doctor said that paying for extra tests would be a waste of our money and that I should just let them ride out the illness. He was right! Very friendly, very helpful and very honest. Only vet I'll use in Kelowna/West Kelowna.

Took my two small dogs in for dental checks, just had one checked in Penticton January of this year but mouth still smelt after being told he only had one loose tooth the rest were fine.. They both had full checkup again and both dogs had several teeth needing to be extracted , which I could easily see when their mouths were opened by the Veterinarian. Dental disease could have costed them their lives which should have been noticed in January. I am so thankful that a proper dental check was done here... Best care and prices in town. Forever grateful !!

This is the last vet I would considered visiting if I'm you. As a new resident to West Kelowna, I thought I would give this vet a visit. No one informed me that I would be seeing a visiting vet and that the regular vet would want me to come back so he could see my dog. Double dipping for no reason. The visiting vet had said my dog had a growth under his tongue I might want to consider removing as it hurt him if he bit it. Do you think they would give me a price for this? Not a chance, they wanted to leave it open ended so they could check his heart, teeth and other areas he has zero issue with. As a retired person on a fixed income, this makes zero sense to me. I walked up the street to the Westbank Animal Hospital and they gave me a quote right on the spot for the procedure.

Old and outdated. Not up to date on the latest practices. Tried a couple of times to discuss different food or medication options with Dr. O’Reilly but him and his staff were very dismissive and downright rude. If it’s not the same old medication they’ve been pushing for years or that garbage science diet food they sell they are not interested whatesoever in hearing about what you have to say or listening to your concerns. Do yourself a favour and seek out a vet that is better versed on the latest science, methods and practices.

Absolutely amazing Vet and staff. Doctor O'Reilly recently helped my elderly dog cross the rainbow bridge and he made the difficult decision easier for me and as easy as he could on my old man. He did a home visit and was gentle and patient and sweet with my dog Buddy and my family. The staff was also incredibly kind to me throughout this difficult time. I highly recommend Carrington vet - they will take care of you and go above and beyond for your four legged family members.

You saved Chewy's life when we did not know anything was wrong. We came in for a splint/cast change from another vet's surgery for you to find his leg had gone gangrenous! Your immediate loving care and instincts saved his life. He may have lost the leg due to the other botched bandaging from the other vet But YOU saved his LIFE. We will be forever grateful for your honesty and support through this and you kindness and caring towards my granddaughter at this time. All we can say is thank you so very much for being who you all are and that seems like so little compared to what you have done for Chewy. My experience with Carrington Animal hospital was excellent. As an out of towner I was anxious to find rapid help for my dog who was suddenly ill. I was able to get a next day appointment and had quick diagnosis and treatment. Dr. O'Reilly and his staff were so caring and reassuring. I recently brought my young Pomeranian, Ellie, in for her booster shots. The staff were wonderful with her and the vet was very friendly. I really appreciated that he made sure he understood everything in her file from the previous vet office. Then, he explained everything he was doing very clearly, answered all my questions, was gentle with Ellie, and it really showed how he cares for animals and wants them to be happy, healthy, and comfortable. There was an assistant in the room to help comfort Ellie as she was being observed and Ellie fully trusted her. It was a pleasure of a visit!

Dr. O'Reilly and his staff are highly qualified, sensitive and professional. We had the devastating experience of having to put our beloved kitty to rest due to incurable health conditions at the age of 14. The loss was indescribable, yet we knew we made the right decision, thanks to Dr. O'Reilly. We could have invested considerable money in our attempt to save her only to prolong her suffering - money was not an issue. Dr. O'Reilly assured us that we would only prolong her suffering BY explaining the x-rays and the prognosis . There is not a day goes by, that I don't think of the support we received.

You won’t find a more compassionate team. I’ve found the focus of the staff is not only on animal care, but animal welfare. The attitude of Carrington isn’t about just medicating animals and getting them out the door as fast as possible, like other local vets my animals have see seen, but on finding low-impact solutions first and easing animal stress. My dog actually LIKES coming here, and the accommodating cat room eases feline anxiety and is so care and wellbeing centered that there simply isn’t any other local place that compares.

The staff and doctor were excellent. They' d come out to my car to do the sign-in and take my dog. They returned with my dog and the doctor came out to talk. He was thorough and didn't rush through details of the visit. He didn't try to sell me anything. The whole visit and items I chose to purchase was very reasonable in price compared to other experiences. And my pup did t try to bolt out of the clinic. She seemed comfortable and happy. We' re so grateful to Carrington Vet and staff.

This vet is a butcher he will only ever push you to get surgery so he can get more money out of you If your older dog has papillomas you can treat this effectively with azithromycin which only cost $5 I found an old prescription and treated my dog for a round of three weeks most of the papillomas shrunk or simply fell off on their own. Doctor O'Reilly's treatment included removing a section of my dog's tongue and flank at a cost of $1,000 with a comment that the lumps would only come back shortly after What a jerk that's animal cruelty in my opinion

Very busy.im hard of hearing in a busy pkg lot cdnt really discuss concerns about my seriously old dog. I wanted teeth addressed and that was not done. The rest of discussion was based on a report I brought over. And I was surprised that a charge is made to write a prescriptionbut confused onset of bronchitus when shes been on antibiotics. Unusual.However to be fair when I was there with my other pet was excellent esp with patella problems. and his staff is top notch.... Dr. Carrington read my post And called me back Monday morning with clarity - to questions I had. Now I Cleary understand cause is unknown and is sparodic and has repercussions regarding dental work "cd kill her ". Now it's a catch 22 situation as bronchitus has surfaced and I face a difficult choice. He gave clarity I cd understand and empathetic to situation. I live on Gis Which totally restricts my helping my best friend .so choices are even harder. I love informed choice. So his call was important and informative Thankyou dr carrington

They are always there, short notice, or even no notice, if our two Boston’s need anything, they are well taken care off. We have been taking our pets there for about 12 years and have nothing but the best to say about them. Arrived 10 min prior to my complimentary pre surgery appt. Called to say I was there in stall 2. One car in stall 1. Other stalls empty.I was told the Dr was just finishing up with a surgery then they would be out to collect my dog. Sat there for 20 min after my scheduled appt ..watched them bring out a dog post surgery, 3 vehicles come collect food, Dr come out and talk to a lady who then came to the entrance to collect her cat, another lady walked up with her dog stated she didn't have her phone so couldn't call to say she arrived, they told her they would be out in a few min. They came out got her dog and went in. At this time I got frustrated and left. They called me at 11:30 asking if I moved stalls as they couldn't find me. Obvious was not a money maker appt so not important.

Such great staff - friendly, accommodating & patient. This is a fairly small clinic with one main vet, but a large group of gals who all take excellent care. My fur baby had dental surgery today, and they provided updates all the way through and even sent me a photo when she was awake. Would highly recommend this clinic.

Unfortunately they told me that I should go see a veterinarian as soon as possible but they were to busy .( not enough vets due to covid ) the next vet I phoned the one next to pepper pot same thing , only regular patients . The entire staff is absolutely amazing. My appointment was unrushed and incredibly thorough. The Vet was patient and took the time to explain the entire process, looked over my dog head to toe and gave me direct advice on how to properly look after my dog after I was given bad advice from someone else in the industry. He addressed issues that were not related to the reason for my visit once he had completely examined her. I also wasn't urged to buy any of the products within the office, after I had specifically asked about what I could give my dog going forward, the vet assistant gave my dog a treat to see if she liked it and than gave a recommendation. I purchased a bag of treats, a toothbrush kit, dental chews, the antibiotic drops for her eye and antimicrobial wipes, without any upselling from the staff and my entire appointment was less than $200. Thank you so much to the staff at Carrington Animal Hospital for taking such great care of my baby, you guys are amazing!

Amazing staff all of which are so friendly. I’m new to the area looking for new vet had an emergency eye situation after a back country camping trip they were able to squeeze her in the next day examined her eye and got us what we needed and followed up the next couple days which was great cause my baby wasn’t responded to the medication properly we got her on different meds and they continue to follow up and are very attentive to the care or your pet. They also talk directly to the animals and let them know what is going on. Which I super appreciate. A week after our visit we also got a greeting card from them addressed to my dog that said “welcome” Carrington animal hospital has been just what I needed and more in veterinary care!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Do NOT take your animals here. They just want your money. The lady on the phone told me I had to come in for another $200 vet visit plus pay for my dogs prescription on top of that when the last time I refilled her priscription they made me do the same thing. She threatened me and told me that all vets will make me do this when I told her I would take my dog somewhere else and I literally called another vet and they refilled it, no problem, no vet visit. Don't waste your money or time.
