It took the staff two months to finally send my cats Medical information to my insurance. I called multiple times, my insurance company called multiple times and they kept saying, yes we will send it right away. I basically felt I was being lied to on many occasions by the staff. One in particular... without the information sent to my insurance I couldn’t file my claim and get my money back. I found it extremely unprofessional and I don’t like being lied too. Vet bills are expensive and they should understand the Importance of sending files to customers insurance companies as soon as they are asked too. I’m not sure if the staff is just young and uneducated or if they just don’t care. I was extremely disappointed with them and i will most likely be finding a new vet who I can trust. I don’t normally write reviews but because of this person I was shorted a lot of money for that couple months because I couldn’t file a claim.

this place is horrendous. i just brought my cat there. she ate something she shouldnt and they tried to bill me $302 for some charcoal and an iv. the service was outrageous and i thought they would have some sort of emergency payment plan. i got laughed at for being broke and scared for my animal. then, thankfully OHS helped cover the bill and got her fixed, vaxxed, chipped, and dewormed (just to make sure shes all good). it was either go through with all of this or the clinic was going to keep my cat until i paid. it seems like they didnt even feed her over her 3 day stay because when i brought her home she scarfed down her food faster than ive ever seen her do it and shes still hungry for more. the veterinarian also didnt call me at all to tell me how my cat is doing and i was the one who had to call 3 seperate times. the worst is that after getting her fixed they didnt give us any pain meds or anything??? i posted a status on facebook and to say the least, people have taken their animals there and they a) have died, b) been neglected/abused and c) not fed. i will definitely be taking her elsewhere next time where she wont be returning home starving and scared, and where i will be treated like a human and not a bank machine. they're definitely just here for the money and its sad. thank god for OHS though.

The price was good but the service was poor the reseptionist had no idea what was going on and even though I could hear my dog crying in the back they wouldn't let my dog come and see me and then on that note they made me wait in a room for 20 min before the technician even came to see me all in all would not recommend this vet and will not be bringing my dog back

We had an indoor cat that lived 23 yrs. She lived a very long life but unfortunately went downhill very quickly. Burtch animal hospital was the only place that would take an appointment on a Sunday last minute. They were extremely accommodating and understanding to prevent her suffering any further. The vet there was fantastic! Knowledgable, gentle and communicative. Honest. The only downside is the clinic is not well insulated. While my cat and I waited to see the doctor, we can clearly hear dogs howling and moaning in the background. This of course stressed my cat ( and me) out. A cat room that's sound proof would be great!!!

I truly feel like we were taken advantage of in our situation. What made us even more mad was our dog was covered in feces when we picked him up. If your going to overcharge for something so simple at least have the decency to provide proper care for the animal in your hands.

She went so far as to call spca to charge me with cruelty to my pet. None of her business! Probably wanted the $$ for the surgery... my doggy is older and her leg healed just fine without it...

Very friendly staff. I just took my cat there for his leukemia shot and they totally went above and beyond. Turns out they were out of the 1 year shot so I was planning getting the cat back in there around work and family visiting when they just drove over to another vet and got it from them. I was able to leave my cat with them and pick him up a few hours later, it was incredible service and I was very impressed. The only thing that makes me hesitate to give 5 stars is that i got asked all the same questions 3 times and had to keep explaining my cat's health, why I was getting the one year shot and his history, etc.

We are very particular of who we take our “Fur Babies” to, and we have found that Burtch Animal Hospital is by far the very best we have ever gone to. The staff there is exceptional and very caring. The first time I went to my appt. things seemed pretty good and I really liked the receptionist. The second time was a follow up and it was a disaster!! A different receptionist took my dog in the back and said you wait here. I asked to accompany him because he is older and displays high anxiety with strangers when I am not around. I stood by the door to the back. A tall female vet (maybe an asst. vet) came and said you can't come back here, she then proceeded to pull my dog by the leash as he was whining and pulling back. She literally dragged him! This was supposed to be a routine check up and she would not let me attend. I moved from the lower mainland and always, always was able to stay with my dog while he was examined. She closed the door on my face. I stood on the other side of the door and only heard him yelping. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AND IF THIS IS HOW MY PET IS HANDLED WHEN I AM THERE - WHAT THE HECK WOULD THEY DO IF I LEFT HIM. I HAVE TOLD EVERYONE I KNOW WHO HAS A PET WHAT HAPPENED AND FRANKLY THEY DESERVE A ONE STAR RATING - ONE FOR THE FIRST RECEPTIONIST THAT I MET WHO ACTUALLY SEEMED LIKE SHE LIKED MY DOG.

She booked me in an appointment right away! I'm happy with their service and I'm glad that I brought my cat in there to be treated. They made me feel that my pet's well being is their #1 priority. Great that they're open 24 hours! Not so great that after they bring your pet inside, they don't offer any idea of the time you'll wait! I was there well over 2 hours in 30 above heat waiting! Also, when your pet is ready, they bring out the ATM machine & expect you to fork over without even seeing the invoice. I realize they have my pet but really!!?? At least tell me what I'm paying for cuz you know those vet bills are insane!

Great and caring staff, brought my cat in for an unknown injury. Was refusing to jump or sit still for long. Came to the clinic as they opened at 8am on a Saturday morning, they took her in immediately and checked her over and kept her for monitoring until the doctor arrived at 10. Doctor examined her and called me with a diagnosis. She looked to have been attacked by maybe a coyote or raccoon, they x-rayed her and found nothing serious out of sorts. Had her back home with medication by 3pm. Can't thank your staff enough for the help and understanding.

Dr. Michael Lavroff is a remarkable, exceptional Vet who always goes the extra mile. I don't know what we would do without him. He has been treating my dog Sasha who is almost 19 years old, for about 4 years now and Sasha would likely not be here but for Dr. Lavroff's wonderful, expert, compassionate care. Walk with me in Hell

Our cat JJ was an indoor cat, we had him for 20 years. He has been such an awesome cat, he lived a very long life and happy life with us but unfortunately during the night something happened, Dr thought he may have had a stroke. Burtch was the only place open on a Sunday and got me in as soon as I could get there. They were understanding, didn't rush me and let me take the time I needed to say goodbye. Thank you for being so kind, its been a rough day.

We took our indoor cat there for her respiratory shot because we were taking her to a kennel for a week. We have taken her there previously for her shots with no problem, but COVID has put a different spin on the visit. The Assistant came out discussed what we were doing and took our cat inside for her exam and shot. The Vet came out to us saying everything looks good but she could lose a couple of lbs (she weighed 13 lbs). Then the assistant brought her back out and we paid her. When we got home we noticed on the receipt he did a 3 yr shot instead of the 1 yr shot he gave her last time and didnt mention anything to us what he did. Since then she has lost her appetite and we are struggling to get her to eat anything! We have called other vets and they say they never do the 3 yr shot because too many things can happen in 3 years. This cat has lost over 3 lbs and we have tried numerous types of food which looks like she will eat it, then just not want to eat. We will not be going back to this office and are telling our friends to avoid this place as well

Scheduling appointments is always so easy as they always seem to be able to work around your schedule (rather than the other way around). Even on the odd occasion when we have needed emergency service it has been as easy as calling them and driving right over.

Super positive experience...me and my little kitty went in, both quite afraid as it was only our second time at a vet. I have say It was such a kind experience. The staff is all amazing, knowledgeable and patient. The Vets equally so and they take the time to explain things to terrified owners :) The Dr. didn't have an easy job on his hands(urine analysis) but he got job done and left Sage no worse for wear. They also afforded me 50% off my exam and gave us a big bag of prescription food for FREE! Thanks guys, you're awesome!

This clinic is money hungry and dishonest. I called ahead requesting exact cost for my 2 dogs to get annual vaccines. After my visit and the vaccines were done, there was $150 in extra costs at the till. They fought with me to honour their own price quote. This is not the first time they have done this. Watch out!!! They are not honest. And just to add insult to injury, I just called to bring in my cat and they told me I can’t book!!! I requested my cats file so I can go somewhere else. It’s obvious now if you try to advocate for yourself, in my case advocate for a quote Burtch clinic gave me, they have decided to “fire” me as a client. Is that customer service??? Rude.

A year ago we lost our elderly cat to kidney failure. Dr Mundi was excellent in prescribing care for her during the last few months of her life, making sure she was made as comfortable as possible. When it was time to say goodbye, he came to our house to put her down, again in as caring a way as possible. The care and compassion he showed (both for her and for us,!), was greatly appreciated, and helped us through a difficult time. They put you on hold then don't return. I called twice to make an appointment as was on hold for over 10 minutes. The vet is rude and uncommunicative. I needed to buy specialty food a few months ago and was left on hold sitting in my car for over 20 minutes trying to call twice to get in (closed door due to covid) for a 1 minute transaction. I am switching vets and I would discourage anyone from using Burch.

I’ve been going to Burtch for years with many different pets. The first time I became a client was when my cat was dying of liver disease. I was with another vet and felt their methods were lame and odd. After taking her to Burtch she had two appointments before the vet had a serious conversation with me. He said her survival rate is little to none, we can do more treatments but I don’t think it will help and I don’t want to take your money if the odds aren’t there. I’ve never had a vet be that honest with me and my livelihood. Since then I’ve taken my family dog, my personal dog and our treatment and pets needs have always been beyond great. They help out financially when need be and are the most caring and understanding people in the vet trade within Kelowna.

I started with Dr mundie when he first Opened and I always got compassionate care and surgeries that where good esp for my genetically over bred pom the white one. Thanks to him morley is compromised be a use 2 other vets I went to in emergency misdiagnosed his condition in Aug fires of 2017. When dr mundie returned from Vac he saw him and basically saved his life. He's home compromised health but happy since. The new vet dahlawal I find is very caring and compassionet with my 14 yr old pom who suddenly started convulsions ..and so far I still have her. Trying to control nurological. I only wish I cd afford an mri but can't but then I can't get one for me either . I recommend this clinic highly and they have a fantastic office mgm assistant Cecile who is so very good and caring as well

Got my cat spayed here. They were very supportive and answered all my questions regarding the process. I was able to take my cat home about 3 hours after I dropped her off. The tattoo in her ear isn't clear, and will have to go back in to get that checked out and fixed.

My 6.8lb Chihuahua was struggling to breathe on Aug 1, 2021. I couldn’t get an appointment at her regular Vet Clinic and I had taken my other Chi to Burtch at few years ago and I was impressed then with their service so I was happy to be able to get Chicabella in to see Dr Nav that day. His kind and gentle way was reassuring to me and Chicabella responded to him immediately with adoration. He has been methodical and on point with her care and we are waiting now for the results of a culture analysis. He has made referrals to specialist that she needs to see for her condition and when things were dire he got her through and he calmed me down. She is going to make it and Chicabella and I are forever grateful. All the staff at this clinic are kind, attentive and efficient. Dr Nav is #1 in my books. You can trust in the care you will get from the Doctors and staff at this clinic.

Burtch also seems to be the most reasonably priced in the area from what I have seen, so you know you will only be paying for what your animal really needs, without a large markup. I cannot recommend this veterinary clinic enough! My cat was very sick when I first came to this clinic and I was worried I was going to have to put him to sleep. They diagnosed him with diabetes promptly and provided me with the necessary tools and information to treat him. He is now doing so much better and is on his way to a full recovery. The staff, as well as the veterinarian is extremely kind, helpful, and professional. I also admire that there is a lot of ethnic diversity at this hospital and everyone is hardworking, dedicated and very sweet. I have had a lot of questions for them and despite them being very busy, they always answered all my questions happily and were very patient and understanding. I would highly recommend this animal hospital, and I cannot say enough good things about them! The doctor is very knowledgeable, patient and met all of my needs. It is also quite affordable, although I don’t have much to compare it to.

They have always been helpful and reasonable in price. My poor kitty got into a fight leaving him with a big gash across his eye. They were the only vet that wasn't going to charge me an inflated emergency fee for after hours because they are open past 5pm. Not to mention they fixed him up and it didn't cost me a bunch of money. They care about your pet, not the amount of money they can make off you. I will always go to them for all of my pets medical needs.

I'm very pleased with my usual vet, but was unable to get my dog in on short notice so I went to Burtch Animal Hospital. They did a great job patching up my dog and the prices were very fair considering I had to book an appointment with no notice. Another local animal hospital wanted $100 on top of the cost of the appointment, but BAH didn't charge that. My follow-up visit was at no charge and the 3rd visit was a minimal charge. All in all very reasonable, and although I have my primary vet that I've used for a long time, I would happily use BAH again!

When it came to surgery day our dog magically cured him self and they didnt charge us for wasting there time and sent us on our way saved us a bunch of money and our dogs going to be good. Everyone working there is so pleasant and knowledgeable. A year ago my cat was on the verge of death, diagnosed with many heart and kidney issues. The doctors there looked after him and put him on some great meds, so he's back to normal and has more energy than ever. I still have him on the meds, but the staff always have his special food and medication on hand for me. They're really wonderful! 5 stars. I recommend this place for anyone with a beloved pet, because they take very good care of all their animals.

We found this poor wee emaciated kitten on our doorstep in October so we fattened her up, made sure she was healthy and took her to get spayed at Burtch Animal Hospital. Because she was a stray, we had no history on her, but no worries , Burtch Animal Hospital advised us as to what was best for our kitty without being pushy. I liked that because some Animal Hospitals can be very pushy about what they think your pet may need even if you explain that you can only afford basic care.. Prices are affordable. follow up is great. They email you to remind you of any follow up appointments, which BTW, after a spay it is a free follow up. So ya, pleased with the service. Kitty is doing great. Thanks Burtch Animal Hospital :) .

Our German Shepard became sick, and it turned out to be an extremely agressive tumour, for which there was no possibilty of recovery. As Heartbreaking it was, they were the Kindest, Comforting people, to help us through the ordeal of saying Goodbye to Our Family Member of 12 yrs. I would Not Hesitate to recommend them. I am so happy to have brought my cat, Vinnie to this hospital. The girls are so nice here, there isn't any attitude or attempt to dismiss the owner. I am able to do all communication by email and they are really prompt at responding! I had been wanting to do a full feline teeth removal as Vinnie(16 years old) has had bad tooth reabsorption and very rotten teeth. I received a FREE! (YES, NO CHARGE) consultation, in which the Vet was very kind, explanatory and informative. They quoted me $1100 which was $1000 less than the previous vet(Panorama in Lake Country - quoted me "At LEAST $2000, be prepared for more"). On the day of surgery, I requested they do a more thorough blood screen(added $100) and the total after it was all said and done was $1300. Basically only $100 over on a $1200 quote. This was really awesome!! They looked after him very very well, he was in great shape when I picked him up. They gave me 5 days of pain-killers and 10 days of antibiotics. Which made Vinnie's recovery really quick and problem-free. Thank you Krista, you're a sweetheart. I consider myself very fortunate to have brought Vinnie to your office, and you'll be his new service provider from now on.

This was our first time to a vet with our new puppy and the staff at Burtch were excellent with making us and our puppy feel super comfortable and welcomed. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. The vet was very thorough and answered all the questions we had in detail. Great clinic! I appreciated all the time and care that was offered to my cat. When I was to get blood work done for her they said she was upset and may need to be sedated. When I came to pick her up they said that they had comforted her and pet her until she relaxed enough to have blood drawn. That means she didn't need to recover from a groggy sedation and I didn't need to have the sedation charge on top of my bill for blood work. Great and caring staff. I would definitely recommend them.

I took my chihuahua here to Dr. Singh who prescribed him Prednisone which a strong medication for a collapsed trachea?! He clearly had Kennel Cough our other dog had it too and he's had it before. I got a second opinion who gave him antibiotics which has cleared the cough up in a week. Such a strong medication could have made my dog sicker!! Don't trust him to misdiagnosi your pet too ..

Stay away from this vet they are very unprofessional and rude I took my dog in for a very Basic minor procedure and when I get home back he developed an ear infection with in a couple days and they refuse to believe it’s from their facility even though that’s the only place he would’ve been they were very rude and called me a liar and that my dog was not welcome there anymore and very over priced. Worst place ever, UNLESS u have a ton of money.... if ur rich go for it, but I do not feel they value animals here. The only decent person there is the receptionist!!!

As I read through these reviews, I just want to remind people that every clinic has its pros and cons. This clinic is at your service for long hours, seven days a week. Procedure prices are among the most reasonable in the whole Okanagan. I have only had good experiences with this clinic and I have referred many people.

Amazing I had my big boy cow (hes a huge dog) which they helped me, make the final decision to put him down, which was the hardest thing I ever had to do, but they were there and helped make my decision a whole lot easier then thinking I made the wrong decision and for that I am forever grateful

I accompanied a friend when she had to have to her dog put to sleep due to illness. We arrived 5-10 minutes early and were taken into an exam room within a few minutes. After the appointment time the receptionist came in to have a general information form completed. Then a few minutes later came she came back to discuss options for cremation. She couldn’t answer a couple of basic questions, including costs and had to leave to find out. When the paperwork was complete we were offered time…it was already 25 past the appointment time after a day of waiting. At 30 minutes past the appointment time the vet finally came in. With little compassion he jabbed the poor little dog with the sedative. It was obviously painful as the dog cried out. The vet left quickly and said he would be back in 15…another 25 min and he came back to give the final shot. I understand that all animals react differently but he didn’t seem confident in why the dog still appeared to be breathing despite saying his heart had stopped. He called it “phantom breathing”. Again offered more time to say goodbye. The process while in the small, hot exam room took over an hour. Then my friend, while crying, had to stand in the lobby area waiting to pay. I have been through the process before with other vet clinics and this was unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have seen livestock out in pasture treated better in their final moments. The lack of compassion and forethought by this clinic was horrific.

We were very happy with the service provided by the staff at Burtch Animal Hospital. Fees are reasonable and there was never any "upselling" of products or services. We were particularly appreciative of the gentle compassion and accommodation provided when Buddy, our dear old dog had to be put down.

We have had a great experience with the Burtch Animal Hospital. This past week, I realized our cat was having issues with using the bathroom. Once I called, I was able to get a same day appointment. They vet techs were very kind and helpful during the whole experience. They allowed us to visit our cat whenever we wanted (as he had to stay at the vet for a few days), and always made us feel welcomed. The vet we dealt with was also knowledgeable. He did the appropriate medical tests to diagnose and treat the issue. Our bill was less then quoted which was nice, and they are doing great follow up in making sure our cat's follow up care is working and that the problem doesn't come back.

I am real. We really did take our young cat to this hospital when he was having sudden breathing problems after having the occasional coughing episode 3 weeks prior to this. It was after hours, our regular veterinarian was closed and we were panicking so we went to the closest hospital which unfortunately ended up being this place. It was also unfortunate that we did not retrieve the message that our veterinarian had left in a timely fashion on our phone until after we had left our cat at this hospital. Our vet was able to correctly tell that our cat was having an asthma attack based on the information that we left on our message to him. He was also able to tell us what tests and treatments should be done. The veterinarian that we saw at this hospital thought that our cat could be having a hairball or poop ball problem despite the fact that he was obviously having troubles breathing. He subjected our cat to a number of expensive and unnecessary tests that could have caused him a lot more harm given that he was struggling to breathe. We were charged for 2 additional sets of x-rays when only 1 set was needed to find out our cat had asthma, a thyroid blood test (which is only a problem in middle aged and older cats...Google it!!...our cat is 1.5 years old), and overnight monitoring (which was over 20% more than what the emergency hospital charges...we called to them to find out!!). Nothing was done out of the kindness of their heart or to save us $$$$. When we went to pick up our cat the next day, our bill was over 50% more than what we were quoted and the doctor was insistent on keeping him to run some more tests even though he was back to normal by this point. We asked our veterinarian to call this hospital on our behalf (my wife, whose name is Cara not Cora by the way, did not think it was a good idea for me to go and discuss it), which he did but nothing came out of it. We wish that we would have drove an extra couple of blocks and gone to the real emergency hospital so that we could have avoided this veterinary hospital and fiasco. We won’t make that mistake again and hope that others won’t either.

The most honest clinic I have found! My dog had been going here for years and they are kind and professional. My dog has an ongoing condition and when I called to discuss bringing her back in they told me over the phone there was nothing they could do to fix that certain condition - instead of making me appointment and charging me to tell me that. That’s honesty!!

We have a new 13 week Toy Aussiedoodle she weighs 4lbs so when she started throwing up and diarrhea we were very concerned It was a Sunday but of course Burtch Animal Hospital were there manning their phones Dr Navjot Dhaliwal was fantastic very reassuring I felt my little one was in good hands 20 mins later she was brought back to me ( Covid ) very sleepy, nausea jab plus a negative Parvo test fluids and probiotic Today Monday she is running around back to normal Great Service we are so lucky to have Burtch Animal Hospital open on Sunday that doesn't charge Emergency Fees ...........I feel confidant in Dr Dhaliwal Thank You
