We had our precious dog euthanized here quite unexpectedly on a Sunday. I can’t say enough about the service received. The vet assistant was so kind and caring and was able to move our little pup in a way that didn’t add to her pain. She explained everything that we needed to know. The vet was also lovely and everything was done to minimize the trauma us all. We also received a lovely condolence card with an ink foot print of our sweet pet. We had also been offered a clip of hair which I regret not taking.

I had to call around for my kittens and I choose the Asher vet due to the friendless on the phone and the way they were polite in answering my question and not expecting me to buy anything or do extra for my kittens. It is very clean and professional . I had an issue with one fighting the cone off and the other he was licking his wounds i expecting to leave a message as it was ten at night but it was dr. himself made me feel very safe and comfortable I highly recommend this clinic. We take our dog Cyrus here whenever he has any problem. Cyrus actually likes Dr. Kuhlar and is always happy to go see him. That in itself says alot about the vet. We have been taking our pets to Asher Road Animal Hospital for five years now, we have always have had a great experience. Their staff and doctors are very nice, their hours are great! Their open seven days a week and take after hour emergency's. Dr. Kular and Dr. Sharma both are great, they never convince you for unnecessary tests. The vet is amazing and I was so happy with them when I started going there. Even recommending that others go here. However after today I will not be going back. I have 2 dogs one who requires a lot of vet care due to heart issues and other things, mainly luxation pattela in both legs, arthritis, enlarged heart, this requires alot of care and a compassionate hand. Should the vet remove the problem or ever transfer to a seperate clinic I will happily become a client again however until then I'm sad to say I will not be returning. The staff today we're nice on the outside. However I had called on multiple occasions to confirm and rebook my large dogs spay, I explained when I called and rebooked it the first time that I was waiting for my snips voucher. Again I called 2 days before her appointment I stated I had to rebook my dogs spay due to waiting on the snips voucher and I was approved and wanted to confirm her appointment was on Friday. They confirmed. The day after I received no phone call about how to prepare my dog for this surgery as every clinic is different, I didn't think I had to mention yet again that I was using a snips voucher. This is annoying enough. So I take my dog to be spayed today and drop her off I mention AGAIN about the voucher. I was not informed I had to have it prior to her spay as we were picking it up right after dropping her off so we'd have it today. I get a call at noon 2 hours after drop off that they need it. So I go back up, while in the clinic waiting for my husband to arrive with the voucher, the reception on duty then was speaking to 2 other employees about how I never mentioned it, I never said anything until after I had dropped my dog off. Other clients could hear this discussion as she stated she didn't know it was a snips voucher spay, and went on about how I never said anything. I'm assuming to get herself out of being repramended. Up until this point I had nothing but good things to say about the clinic even after the call at noon stating they needed me to come back with the voucher for paperwork and that she was new and did not realize this prior. I was understanding for this. I explained to the other reception after the above issue I would further be changing vet clinics despite really liking the vet. This situation was not handled professional, or kindly at all. It is not acceptable for staff to be blaming clients for their blatant screw ups, and doing so where clients may over hear the discussion and look poorly upon other clients. And due to having severe mental health issues with going into public to begin with, this has caused severe stress upon me, and I do not recommend anyone go there unless you are okay with being spoken poorly about where others may hear. Very sad that such an amazing vet will be losing out on business now because of this. Edit: The veterinary hospital and Dr.kulmar were very quick to address the issues and respectfully dealt with the situation after reaching out. I am very happy that they addressed the issue and provided such amazing care for my girl even after her spay. I will be remaining with this vet as they managed to remedy this situation very quickly and eagerly.

My elderly cat Zoey was in late stages of kidney failure last December, so I had to make the difficult decision to give up on more treatment and let her go. The staff were highly empathetic with excellent bedside manner, and they gave me plenty of time to be with her after she was gone. In my grief, I had completely forgotten to ask to have her pawprints taken as I wanted a tattoo, but a week later I received a handwritten card in the mail expressing their sincere condolences along with two separate pawprints attached. Thank you so much for making her passing as easy as possible.

*UPDATED* The only positive I had there was the lovely receptionist. Which says very little about how my experience was. The vet was dismissive at best and arrogant at worst. I brought my dog in for concerns of an eye infection & when I mentioned the context leading up to it, I felt I should casually mention that he’s been sleeping more than normal. I clarified that it was probably due to the dog daycare he’s been attending. He proceeded to make me run around outside with my dog to prove he wasn’t lethargic which I blatantly said his sleepiness wasn’t concerning, it was just a fact. My dog was clearly uncomfortable around him and he made no effort to try and sooth that, only sighed frustratedly when my dog tried to escape him off the platform. Worst dog person, and come on... most patients at a vet clinic are dogs or cats. Does he know there are vets out there that make a huge effort to put their patients at ease? How does this clinic have such glowing reviews? If only the receptionist could rub off her clear love of animals and people onto the vet. Did I mention he gave me a 5mg eye drop bottle prescription without any explanation and a label that reads “1/4th of an inch in both eyes twice daily for 10 days”. But he was in the bathroom so I couldn’t even be bothered to wait for him. 5ml = 10 days of drops? At 1/4th an inch per treatment in an opaque bottle... sounds legit. And it cost me $100. For 10 minutes of reclarifications, trying to get him to actually hear what I was intending to explain and waiting while he watched tv in his office next door. That and 5 minutes of dismissive appraisal of my pet’s health. I’m mad. If you’ve read this far, I’m sorry for the intensity and hopefully you reconsider taking your pet there. If the vet is reading this I hope you reconsider a few things too. *update: don’t blame the receptionist. If the doctor had been at the counter when the prescription was dispensed, then there wouldn’t have been any risk of giving THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. And why didn’t I receive an alarmed phone call that I was putting the wrong prescription in my dog’s eyeballs instead of this review reply?! And why would I put an OINTMENT in an eyeball?

If you care for your animals please don't go here. My cat went to get spayed today and she died on the table. When he called me and told me to come back to talk to me about something I rushed back only to sit there worried sick while they told me to wait then he led me into the room where my poor baby was displayed like a science project and she looked horrible and when I collapsed on the ground after asking repeatedly if she was even alive he said no then kept telling me to come back into the room to explain what happened and when I refused to go back because I couldn't look at her like that he kept telling me to come back in. I'm heartbroken and horrified. The man was insensitive and the only thing offered was a discount of $30 off her being cremated. But this was after him telling me that I could spend my own money and time to bring her all the way to Abbotsford to get her examined. I lost my best friend today. I've also read other reviews of their treatments resulting in animals deaths. Please avoid at all costs. My baby was only a year old.

I would recommend this place to anyone. My cat was in really rough shape when I brought him in with some puncture wound from another animal which got infected. The vet did a really good job with my cat the wounds all healed very nicely, and my cat is back to normal. Also I live far away from Kelowna and there hours made it easy for me to make appointments after work.

Brought cat in to be looked at by doctor. Arrived at 8am, doctor wasn't expected until 10. Staff at the front desk just looked at me dumbfounded so I went to Burtch Animal Hospital where they actually took her in and checked her over and monitored her until the doctor arrived.

The vet was also great and I really appreciated all the time she took with me and my kitten. Sometimes vet clinics can feel rushed so it was a nice change!

The receptionist was very accommodating. That is the end of my positive experience. I brought in my animal because I had a medical concern. I was given no options and I felt very brushed aside. I was told that my cat was old and I can save money by not worrying. I can give her these drugs to help her with pain. I later find out that these drugs are really bad for kidneys. I had to go to a another vet to get testing done to find out that my cat has stage 3 kidney cancer. I will not visit again and recomend that you also find somewhere else to go.

They were open when others weren't, so a couple stars for that I guess. One of the staff was friendly, the others seemed to just tolerate their customers. Just be aware if your dog needs three stitches and an hour in a cage to wake up from anaesthesia, you're looking at a $700 bill. Won't be going back, another vet with better reputation has offered to follow up and remove stitches free of charge.

We decided to have our puppy spayed just before she was six months of age, which is the age suggested to spay a female dog. We chose Asher Road Veterinary Clinic to do the operation because of the good reviews and we were so pleased with Dr. Aman Kular! We immediately trusted him as he is so gentle and shows a real love of animals. Our puppy was just fine when we brought her home at the end of the day and the incision was very neatly stitched and she never had a problem with healing fast and without any complications. Also, this clinic included four days of pain medication with the surgery. In the end, the cost of the surgery, pain medication and a microchip (which they do at the same time if you choose your dog to have one) cost us about a hundred dollars less than the other Vet quoted us when we first got her at 10 weeks of age. The other Vet clinic charged you separately if you wanted pain medication for your pet. I couldn't believe that pain medication wouldn't be a given in such an operation! Also, this Doctor actually does the surgery (and does it well) where the other Vet clinic sends out the animal to have it done elsewhere. I also read that this Asher Road Veterinary Hospital is open later hours than most and on call for emergencies 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, including all holidays! Outstanding caring and services!!! If there is an emergency visit required during open hours of approximately 8 am to 8 pm most days (Saturday and Sunday shorter hours), you can just bring your pet in and they will see to him/her as soon as they can. This Vet clinic is about a 25 minute drive from our home where the other one is 5 minutes but we would much rather drive the 25 minutes out to see Dr. Aman Kular look after our pup! We definitely recommend Dr, Kular and his reception staff that we saw (one at the time of dropping off our pup for the surgery and another at the time of picking her up at 5:00 p.m.) were both friendly and knowledgeable too! Outstanding!

Drove up from penticton to Asher rd vet as they advertised being open at 8 with an after hours emergency line that they apparently don’t answer. Vet tech arrived at 8, but the vet didn’t. She was very helpful but the vet didn’t feel like getting out of bed and so he wasn’t coming in till 10. Useless to advertise being open at 8 when there is no vet there for emergencies till 10 when he feels like coming in. Wouldn’t recommend.

Brought my dog in because she had been sick and puking for two days. This isnt the first time its happened so I have had experience with other vets. It was a bit strange as I was asked to hold my dog down but given no information on how or which way to face her. Then when she would wiggle around the vet seemed quite annoyed with me that I couldn't restrain her better. It was difficult to get the information on what was wrong with my dog, I still have no idea. They did call back two days later to ask how she was doing so that was great.

After calling over 10 vet clinics from Penticton to Vernon ,all quoting 250.00 to 350.00 including 'The SPCA which quoted us 350.00 RIP OFF PRICE". We finally found Asher Road Animal Hospital and his prices were very reasonable. We made an appointment and brought her in. We live in Summerland and made the trip to Rutland. It was bit of a drive but worth it. The surgery went well and they gave her excellent care. They gave us 2 days days of pain medicine and some food for her at no extra charge. and after 2 days they did a phone check to see how she was doing. This place is awesome and we didnt feel extorted for every dollar we had. If your looking to find a caring reasonably priced veterinarian this place is for you. This Is our new vet clinic.

My dog stella has always been a happy carefree dog. I got her from the spca years ago. She never really had an issue. But this week we noticed a loose tooth and bought her in for a consultation. Dr. Aman Kular has been excellent in dealing with my dog and helping reassure me so i can calm down from full blown panic mode. He gave us a quote, that was much more reasonable than I'm used to. Explained how we could deal with some of her issues incrementally. Not even 24 hours later i was putting stella in the back of my jeep and she caught a dew claw while getting in. She didn't make a sound. When i went to get her out of the jeep at home i noticed blood on the mat under her and some on her front paw. She wasn't looking bothered in the least, while i was completely disturbed that my girl stella's claw was broken and bleeding. I took her straight to asher road veterinarian hospital. He brought her in right away. Checked out her claw, explained they would sedate and cauterize the broken claw. Then she will need some antibiotics to make sure it doesn't get infected as it heals. I cannot thank them enough. This vet goes the extra mile. You really can't put a price on the peace of mind a vet you can trust gives you. Thank you so much for helping care for my dog. There aren't many times i feel helpless, but when it comes to my pet suffering, helpless is all i can describe feeling. And with asher road animal hospital, i don't feel helpless with stella's health and safety.

There was a young girl ahead of me when I went to pick up my cat from being spayed. She was picking up her gramma’s cat who appeared to have had the same procedure, and the kitty was not very happy. The young girl had obviously never done this before, was concerned, and had questions. The vets response to her questions was: “she’s alive and going home, sometimes they die on the table.” Um, what?!? As factual as this statement may be, a better response would’ve been telling her that every animal reacts differently when coming out of anesthesia, and if she’s still concerned tomorrow, please call. To top off this horrific moment, I looked at the package of meds when I got home and it was labelled with my cats name/canine. Yes just a typo, but after observing them...it’s the little things. So, as cheap as they are, I will never go back...you get what you pay for.

I have had my dog spayed here, as well as all of her recent vaccinations, and a bacterial ear infection emergency. I have also boarded her at this location. They do a great job of keeping her safe and healthy while she is in their care. The Vet and his assistants always make it a worry free stay.

THEY KILLED OUR DOG!!! I brought my dog in for an abscessed tooth, my dog had not eaten much for about 12-15 hours and had a bit of a swollen face from his tooth. It was Sunday so our regular vet was not available. I took him into Asher Road Animal Hospital. Dr Kular said he needs to be put on IV for 24 hours then get reassess to see if he's stable but could possibly need to be on IV and stay at the vet for 48 hours. I wasn't very comfortable with leaving my dog there over night for one night let alone 2 nights since he'd never been in a kennel or left alone overnight. But I'm not a vet and wanted what's best for my dog so I left him in Dr. Kular's care. On Monday my fiancé called our regular vet (Rutlant Pet Hospital) and asked if they would do the same treatment. They said there was no reason he should be there overnight. That they would simply have given my dog antibiotics which we could administer from home. If surgery was needed then one would be scheduled. My fiancé then went back to Dr Kular and took our dog away. He hopped on 3 legs to the car, wouldn't put any weight on the leg that had the IV stuck into it. Once home my fiancé carried him inside and put him on his bed. He laid there and didn't move. He even pooped on his bed which he's never done. Then he got up to the middle of the floor and laid down. I came home from work a few hours later. The dog barely lifted his head when I came in. His entire leg that had the IV in it was completely swollen from tips of toes right into his shoulder. He was breathing quickly and shallow then tensing up in pain about 5 times/minute. He even peed himself! He wasn't getting any better so we rushed him to the 24 hour emergency vet. They said he had a really high fever. That there's no reason his leg should be swelled up. They put him on IV to get his fever down so we had to leave him there. At 6am I get a phone call saying my dog isn't doing good and his blood pressure is rapidly dropping and not responding to medication. They asked if they could do blood work to see if there's something internally wrong, I said yes. Dr. Kular had done blood work on Sunday and everything came up fine. They then phoned me 15 mins later to say my dog's declining rapidly he's no longer responding to light or sound, he's on life saving medication and oxygen and has pooped a bloody stool. My fiancé and I rush to the vet and my dog is laying there in so much pain his eyes are still and almost look deflated. The vet says there's nothing more she can do. His breathing is so strained his blood pressure is almost flat. We ended up having to put our dog down. All this from abscessed tooth?!?!?! Dr Kular killed our dog DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If you love your pet do not bring him here under any circumstances. He just cares about the money not the well being of the animal!

My pup had a small wound on one of his leg and there was no doctor available at our vet for couple days so we decided to go there. So many to choose from in town, it was a bit overwelming but it Asher rd animal hospital was closed from home and convenient for us. Unfortunately, it was a bad decision... the doc was very rude and shaved my dog leg like there was nothing.. he than said that he had to put him to sleep to do 2 stiches and that there was no other way to do so. I left my dog there... they didnt call me back when he woke up (my dog is not a fan of their small kennel covered with scratches), i went back at 4 thinking he was probably still sleeping to being told he was awake since 1:30pm. They charged me $368 for 3 very loose stiches that did not last 4 days (no my dog was not active and did not eat them) . The lady at the desk told me she will call back in couple days to have an update, but never did. Never call either after 10 days when i didn’t show up to remove the stiches. Went back to my regular vet and they could not believe what the doctor did over there.. they said there was no reason to put him under anasthesia for that and only a local anasthesia was the thing to do. The stiches were so bad they had to fix them. Also, we did glue the wound with chirurgical glue when it happened because we were out backcoutry snowboarding way out there in the Monnashee Mountains. (The wound was made by a snowboard edge) we were very very far from the car and also far from a vet office. We could not leave our pet walking all the distance and bleed out right? So, we did use glue to temporary close it. Helicoptere rescue is a bit expensive you know. One last thing, the phone number we gave you was a Quebec number, not out of service. I double checked on the envoice and you had the right number. So, Honestly people, go somewhere else if you care and love about your pet !

This is my fav. place to take my animals. Dr. and staff are so friendly and helpful. The services you provided exceeds all expectations. Dr. Kular is a wonderful caring vet. He cares about your pet and takes time when required to explain everthing. My cat is very calm there and with vet. I was very impressed with the high level of service by whole staff and the girl who work at front reception is very good and friendly.

They were super nice at this vet, and they obviously did an excellent job at spaying my cat, because the next day, she was testing to run around like she had nothing done to her at all, even though she has a cone on her head and looks like a lamp for the next week. Would I recommend this place, yes I would, and yes I do!

I sent my dog to get looked at right away he said dog has to stay two days they said he had liver infection but wasn't on any antibiotics I showed up next am they still havnt done X-rays found him with a cone on his head for no reason and stuck in the cat cages with cat food I'm beyond livid and say they charge 900 for it and I left a deposit of 500 .the staff new nothing

Excellent service. My cat was urinating blood and I was able to get her in same day. Very thorough examination with quick xrays and immediate answers .. (lab results the next day). I was not left to worrying and am happy with the service and care.
