The KWEC has my lasting gratitude. Our husky Oakley had a pre existing condition which deteriorated rapidly over the Victoria Day weekend, and he was brought to the clinic. Dr. Cook was very kind, empathetic, and patient, and was a great comfort when we made the difficult decision to let him go. The rest of the staff were just as awesome. Oakley was treated with dignity and love. He mattered to them. Thank you.

Compassionate and professional service.

I can't say enough about the amazing team here. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and took the time to answer all my questions (despite being run off their feet I imagine and in a very stressful environment.). My cat was with the team for 2 days and 2 days and it made me feel much better knowing she was in friendly hands. So very grateful to the vets and team that took care of us.

Tamara

We had a scare with our 9 week old puppy tonight and were immediately seen. (Luckily, other than some discomfort, she should be ok.) Everyone was compassionate, knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. For being an after hours service, I found that it was a great value for the money as the cost was much less than expected. Thank you for your help!

Dr. Jones and Dr. Dell were amazing with my sister and this rough few days she had with her pup. Unfortunately, in the end, she did succumb to her disease, but the compassion that was shown was nothing short of amazing. This facility is tried and tested and we can honestly say for whatever emergency might arise in the future, KVEC will be hearing from my entire family after this incredible display of humanity. Thank you to the whole team for making this as easy as it could be for one of the most difficult moments in my sisters life.

We took our bulldog for euthanasia because our vet was too busy yesterday. 989 dollars later... seems crazy but there you have it. Staff was great. Not complaining. However. While there, crying in the lot because covid meant we couldn't go inside, waiting for the consultation, a woman in scrubs beelines to my wife's window, immediately puts herself in my truck and said so much random stuff it took us a while to realize she wasn't staff ! No mask, my wife is high risk for covid so I am mad as hell. Not at KVEC for obeying rules but for not letting us just stay with our boy. EDIT ... week later no response and it turns out I would have paid 300+ less going ANYWHERE else.

Our Aussie has cut herself badly 3 times in the past couple years. This being the most minor of the 3, their quote was over twice the price of Cavan Hills. Not surprisingly there was a wait there while Kawartha was empty.. $100 later to get checked out we ended up going to Cavan anyway. I get you can charge more because your 24 hours and I appreciate your service but your prices are boarder line greedy.

I have brought my dogs here a number of times when there was an emergency and I have never had an issue. Dr. Alliace (I don't think I spelt that right) was the vet that helped me recently. He took time to listen and was extremely honest and helpful. I know a lot of reviews say they are out for the money but I did not get that impression from this particular vet what so ever. Being an emergency vet, the walk-in rate is more expensive than a regular vet, which is to be expected. As long as I live in the Kawarthas and have a pet emergency I will be bringing my dogs here.

This place overcharged vulnerable customers. Takes advantage and is rude while doing it. Unbelievably bad service. Never bring your pet here

I live in Buckhorn so was a bit of a commute for me late at night but I would definitely go back again, God willing I don't need to. I'm happy with the care they provided my dog and the professionalism and friendliness they showed me. It's not cheap but any emergency clinic is not. Highly recommend when your own veterinarian is not available.

Absolutely amazing people. Our 12 year old chihuahua was not doing well today. We drove from the Quinte area and it was well worth the drive. Very kind; efficient and very reasonably priced. Although we could not go in due to covid they called us 3 times and made us feel much better. Highly recommended !

My partner and I were treated so well here. We were treated with kindness and were pleasently surprised by the transparency in pricing. We had to come here under unfortunate circumstances, but they made it happen in the best possible way. I am very grateful for this vet clinic ❤️

I hate to write a negative review but am compelled, when our previous dog who was dying the clinic was awesome and compassionate when she met her end, Norwood veterinary services had told us what to expect when the end was near and where correct and I thank them both in that situation. Unfortunately there is a but to this, my son bought me a new puppy a short while ago (a Husky) who eats everything when not watched, he ate a portion of a pillow case and began vomiting, they took him the Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic with what he had vomited and they were never asked about it. They I believe mistakenly told them we had insurance on the dog , no real further consultations happened, fear analogies were given and surgery was preformed for fear of obstruction etc.. This was a clear misdiagnosis as nothing was found in the dogs stomach (they did xrays and i believe an ultra sound). Total incompetence in this situation i will never return! My puppy has a scar and we have to endure his unnecessary rehab!

Perhaps I WOULD have been pleased with the actual service/care, however ... I contacted KVEC upon the recommendation of my then regular vet whose office was about to close when I called regarding my 19-year-old cat needing to be euthanized. I was calling at 4:45 p.m. and they close at 5 and had hoped that they would stay a bit late, but they were not able to. I asked if they thought the cat might just pass away peacefully during the night or if I should wait until morning and bring her in - they said that more than likely things would not go well and I would have an "emergency" situation on my hands late at night with the cat suffering, and family panicking. I phoned KVEC and was quoted $350.00 to euthanize the cat, and something in the range of additional $300 - $700 for cremation, depending on whether I wanted her cremated with other pets, or a private cremation. I was simply not prepared to pay $350.00 just for an injection to euthanize the cat - and I certainly wasn't going to pay hundreds for cremation (we would bury her ourselves). I decided that we would have to wait until the next day to go to our regular vet. Unfortunately, indeed, hours later I did not feel that we could wait through the night ... and at 11 p.m. I recalled having driven past a 24 hour vet clinic near Cavan (on drives to/from Port Perry). Sure enough Cavan Hills Animal Hospital is open 24/7 and I called them: Their price was $150 for euthanasia (less than half the price of KVEC) and cremation costs were also less than half the cost. We drove to Cavan shortly after midnight - and while it was all very sad, we felt the staff were caring, kind and gentle .. and, also importantly, we didn't feel we were taken advantage of financially in order to make a quick buck off of our pets' suffering and our desperation to get help for her. The next day I phoned my regular vet to ask if they were aware of the pricing charged by KVEC: Indeed they were NOT aware of this, and they were quite shocked and surprised. They assured me that their own prices are NOT anywhere near that, had I been able to wait until the next day, and that they would now rethink where they refer after hours emergencies to (presumably they now recommend Cavan Hills). A happy ending, though: When at Cavan Hills there was a small kitten in a cage in the waiting area - he had been abandoned in the parking lot. We came back the next day and took him home with us. So, while sadly one kitty's life was over (after a long life for a cat - 19 years) there was another kitty in need of a home.

The lady behind the counter was rude short and I will not go back. Vet seemed good but that lady was enough for me to not return

Please don’t let bad reviews and long wait times scare you away from coming here. I had to drop my cat off for an emergency visit and felt terrified leaving him there alone, but, rest assured I received 3 phone calls during his stay assuring me he was okay and updating me along the way. The receptionist was very kind as well. The bill was reasonable. Though initially I almost felt like I was making a bad decision leaving him here, know your gut feeling is mostly coming from the anxiety caused by your gut baby being unwell, not the clinic. I hope I don’t have to come back here, but, if I do, I’ll know my first baby is in good hands.

I was on vacation up north and it was the closest emergency clinic that was open. I called in prior to going and they picked up right away to discuss concerns. When I got there, I had to wait for the vet tech to call to ask further questions but it wasn't long at all. They advised me that there were others ahead of me so I'd have to wait a bit. I was quite anxious but they assured that it wouldn't be too long. All the staff I dealt with were super nice and compassionate. The doctor called a couple times during the assessment to make sure I was aware of my options and that I was comfortable before moving forward. All in all a very positive experience and am very appreciative of all the staff who assisted. Thank you!

Izzy Broer

Just called to ask how to help my constipated cat, since every vet near me is closed & apparently due to the fact that I’m unable to drive her out to Peterborough for an overly priced emergency appointment ABOUT CONSTIPATION, they’re unable to help me. Called my families vet 3-4 hours away & boom now I know how to help my constipated cat without having to spend a base of $150. Y’all act as if you’re here to help animals but my cat could’ve died today and youd of done nothing to help because “I can’t give advice over the phone”. Highway robbery if you ask me.

Jill Steenburg

I had to bring my puppers up to them for a probably overdose of some sort. Very caring and compassionate. With these covid restrictions they kept me informed and put my mind at ease at a time when I wanted so badly to be with my pet. Thank you

Sarah

This clinic is by far one of the best in town. I rushed my dog in there and they saw her immediately and they did the best they could. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save her and the vet who was working with us treated us with such kindness and treated my dog like one of our actual family members and not just another animal. It was a very difficult night but they helped make it as easy as they possibly could. I definitely reccomend these guys 100%

My husband and I are so incredibly grateful for the extraordinary compassionate staff at Kawartha VT Emergency clinic. Dr. Audra Martin; a special thank you for your gentle and extremely caring manner in which you handled our beloved Bear. This is such a difficult time for EVERYONE; a province wide lockdown just after Christmas weighs heavily on so many people. Loved ones that are in hospital and cannot be with family is devastating. Thank you to ALL the wonderful staff and for all you do for our cherished pets. I cannot express enough gratitude for allowing us to be with our precious Tibetan Mastiff while he passed over towards the Rainbow bridge. This meant SO much to my husband and I. Again, thank you so very much for the most compassionate service at our most vulnerable time. Amazing clinic.

Great service and lovely people! I am so glad we brought our dog there to be taken care of. Thanks KVEC once again for saving our dog.

Anne Walter-Hammond

I have had an ongoing experience with KVEC the last 10 months. The staff are an amazing group of caring people who do everything they can for your pet. I highly recommend them....and in light of covid 19 and the protocols...please don't be rude or aggressive towards these excellent hard working individuals. You have no idea what they go thru till you sit outside waiting for your pet to be treated and watch others bring their pets in and know that your fur baby is going to go home but theirs may not. Loss of your pet is devastating, now imagine being them and having to assist 6, 7 ,8 or more over the rainbow bridge in the course of ONE SHIFT. Be kind....they will do absolutely everything they can to help you in your time of need.

We had to take our 8 year old cat Shadow there, she was having trouble walking,Vicky checked her over.Turns out she had a blood clot,Vicky recommend trying a half aspirin every third day to dissolve the clot,We did this for a week and a half.,but it wasn’t enough to break it up,sadly, her back legs gave out and we had to euthanize her,They let us stay with her , The staff and vet there are amazing people, They are so kind, compassionate and caring. even through my tears they understood how important it was for us to be with Shadow till the end ,I would highly recommend them to anyone with a pet emergency ,,,

My cat needed care immediately and she ended up being put to sleep. I was very upset when I called and they told me to bring her in. They are very compassionate. Today, I received a card with her paw print. Thank you.

Fast and very helpful, we received terrible news, but I know the staff here really care and that helped us a lot. Thank you.

10 days ago I thought I was going to loose my precious best friend, Babycat, after she dug some bubble wrap out of who knows where and tore it apart to snack on. Both my parents were out of town and I don't drive so I was understandably freaking out. I called and spoke to I think her name was Thersea maybe? She was so kind and reassuring and did everything she could to help. I appreciate her kindness in such a difficult day in my life. Baby is healthier than ever now and and I could not be more grateful for everything thersea? And the vet did to help me and my Baby that scary night.

It has taken me a bit of time to write this review and it was important for me to do so to express my sincerest gratitude for the staff and services at Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Service. Before calling the service, I was so nervous and nearing frantic, going into an emergency service I had never been to with my soul kitty. She, like many fur souls, detested the car, let alone a strange place with strangers...especially in an emergency situation. From the moment I called, I knew we were going to be cared for, no matter what the outcome, because the understanding, professionalism, and compassion were outstanding. From the staff who took my first call (we had 2 visits during our emergency), to the staff who took my soul kitty in during a freakin pandemic, to her doctor, Dr. Cane (God Bless your soul, you are a gift to this world), to everyone else under that roof and who are a part of contributing to the services provided here, thank you from the whole of mine, my son’s, and my soul kitty’s ginormous hearts. Although the outcome for our family was not as we wished for my soul sister kitty, Bebe ❤️, it is as it needs to be. The service provided, from beginning, during, and right to the end was phenomenal. I can’t thank you enough for how you treated our family. RIP Bebe Girl. Words cannot express how highly I recommend this clinic if you are in need. Thank you Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic ❤️

Steven McLaughlin

A friend of mine brought her dog in for treatment and this clinic gouged her thousands of dollars for services not done. They had no care of what the dog was going through and demanded payment before the person could say their final goodbye. This place is a joke and they only care about $$$

donna goulding

The staff here were warm n friendly. Dr. Deb explained things clearly and we felt confident in leaving our beloved Raven in their care.

On January 16, 2021 we brought our 11 week old puppy in for emergency end of life care. The puppy had a massive heart attack and her heart simply could not compensate for her growing body. This was the most tragic experience my family has had with an animal. KVEC was so professional, kind, and supportive during our final moments with our baby. We thanked you then and we thank you now. We provided her happiness in life, and you provided us all comfort in her death. You had put a beautiful pink heart on her IV and we noticed. Thank you for giving her love and helping us in an urgent situation. Your team is amazing, we admire the hard work you all do!

We have been to many veterinary clinics and specialty hospitals due to our dog having several major issues, and many times have been in an emergency situation and had to go to Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic due to the seriousness of our dog’s issues. Every time, they have shown their compassion and care. I cannot stress how wonderful they are and the time they take to review our dogs medical charts. If I could give them 10 stars ⭐️ I would.

Our little chocolate lab ate a rock and our vet was closed. We called KVEC immediately to ask their opinion and, because of our puppy being so young, they recommended he came in right away for an examination. My husband took our boy in and told me they were absolutely fantastic with Dexter. He got xrays done and ended up coming home with some food to help get the rock (which had split in 2) to stick to the food and pass through him. From the sounds, Dexter got all sorts of kisses (and gave many back) and they helped to put us all at ease! I called a couple days later, after Dexter passed the second piece of rock, to thank them for their help with our boy. We are immensely grateful to them!!! This is a long review but I want to add. We had called a 24 hour vet prior to KVEC and that vet clinic told us that "you can wait and see or just bring him in", and they sounded entirely unconcerned considering our pup was barely 8 weeks old... so, again, I'd just like to state how KVEC clearly cares for the pets they look after!

Thank you KVAC staff! Amazing, compassionate, professional in every capacity. 24hr this emergency door is open. The world needs more open doors, such as KVAC, helping those in need. Benny my 10yr rescue cat, extends a special thanks with tons of hugs/kisses xoxo to Dr. Audrey Chouinard!! Benny was in a terrible tom cat fight. He needed dental surgery to front fang and abscess drain valve inserted in his right cheek! ouch!! My first experience at KVAC was a "10" A++++, absolutely calming/caring staff, in a very stressful time for me. I pray eternal health for all KVAC staff, we need you!! God Bless luv Benny :>)))

If I could give a lower rating I would. The Vet here has the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. Zero compassion for sorrow and heavily over priced. She made a horrible, heart breaking situation 100 times worse then it needed to be. Please, please do not use these hacks.

Erin Finlayson

Although I have never been to this clinic, I was not impressed with their quoted prices - which is why we didn't go. I phoned in the evening to have our cat euthanized. We were quoted a rate of over $400 just for the euthanasia, and we would take her body home for burial. If we wanted cremation it would be an addition $300+ for a group cremation (and you don't get the ashes back), or $700+ for private cremation (and you get the ashes). We ended up calling the 24/7 Cavan Hills Vet Hospital where they quoted $150 for euthanasia, extra $90 for group cremation and somewhere around (I forget exactly) $150 for private cremation. We drove the extra 10 mins to Cavan, were very satisfied with the care, and saved HUNDREDS of dollars.

Caitlyn Osborn

Called them because it was a Saturday and no one else around me was open for emergencies. The receptionist was extremely rude about my situation and then denied my dog the care she desperately needed. My dog continued to suffer for hours and died the following morning. Absolutely disgusted by the way the receptionist handled the situation. She should be ashamed of herself.

My Boston Terrier received excellent care back in April, however, the bill was astronomical $1700 for overnight stay, meds, and testing. She had pancreatitis with showing of diabetes. Our regular vet took it from there. Just know that it is great care but costly.

Jay

Disgustingly overpriced and predatory, literally go anywhere else cavan has a 24/7 clinic

Rob Payne

Took my dog in late last night, can't say enough good things about Melanie Dell and her assistant. My bully had a neck issue and was taken very quickly, we we're very concerned and worried. Not only was she very professional, very caring and thorough, but kind and considerate to our feelings in respect as well, will deffinatley feel very comfortable if need be to take any of our animals there.

Jamie Cordeiro

Our Lab pup had a particularly upset stomach after a busy Thanksgiving at the cottage. The Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic made a difficult experience for our pup and his owners very easy. Dr.Barb took the time to explain what he was going through, how to help him, and what to expect in the days afterwards. Their 24/7 hours availability also give piece of mind. Would be my first choice in the event of an emergency.

Carrie Benson

After calling, we rushed our cat in around midnight as he was not well and started having trouble breathing. They took him in right away and started oxygen treatment. After some tests and a lot of discussion we made the tough decision to let him go. I can't say enough about how great the vet and other staff were, especially with my daughter. We had all the time we needed and weren't rushed, they were so good in a bad situation and it was definitely appreciated. Thank you

Very nice folks

Cauta Pacea (Caută Pacea)

I don't trust vets. I have had very bad experiences with them on several occasions where it was clear that quality of life was not their focus, but making money. I had one occasion when a pet of mine had cancer, and was dying and the vet was trying to sell me on invasive surgery and treatment that would have made her life Hell. My experience with Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic wasn't like this. They treated me with great compassion, as well as my pet, who I knew was at the end of his life. We were both made comfortable and dealt with honestly and quickly. I appreciated their professionalism and how they dealt with everything. This is one veterinary clinic I would consider, they aren't just there to make quick money. Thank you.

Darienne McAuley

We used the KVEC clinic when it first opened and were very pleased with the care that our Morgan received. I am so grateful to the women vets who started this much needed service in our area and just wish it had been there years ago. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic and its staff. Thank you.

Irene Fulton

We were faced with an after-hours emergency and came here to the 24h clinic. Our senior dog was ill and suddenly lost control of her back legs and was in great pain. The staff made our dog comfortable immediately, did a series of tests to see if anything could be done, and were compassionate, informative and very sensitive to helping with the difficult decision for euthanasia. Thank you for your care.

Taylor Jones

I cannot express how amazing the staff at KVEC are. We had our little guy Fenner in at the clinic for 11 days as he was fighting parvovirus. The staff were all incredibly professional and so caring, we felt like everyone we talked to cared for him as much as we did. Unfortunately he did not make it but we have no doubt in the world that they did everything in their power to care for him and help him through this terrible virus. We know there would have been no better place for him and he was in the best hands possible. It helps to know they loved him and he got all the attention he needed in his final days. We can’t say thank you enough to all the incredible people who cared for him.

Greg Smith

Not happy, was a last option as quinte veterinarian are not taking new pets and we recently moved into the area .Very sad situation as we had a beautiful cat that we had to put down on their advise at only 12 years and healthy up until a week ago.????????????????.

Nancy Mallette

So thankful to everyone at Kawartha Vet Clinic for their response time in treating my girl Bindi. She received excellent care. I'm beyond thankful she recovered. From the moment I called, through triage, and during her stay I knew she was in a good place.

Lynne Lew

Took a foster kitten to be looked at and although there wasn't anything they could do for her they were so kind. Thanks again

Chey H

We can not thank the Vetranarians and full staff for the extraordinary care given to our cat Jax. He was an extreme challenge for them to say the least. They got him through it and we now have him home. Our family is so grateful and we thank them profusely! This is a very very busy Vet hospital, I say just be patient, they are giving your pets the best care possible for the best outcome possible.

M Quin

Excellent care and reasonable fees

Susan Glass

Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic was very helpful, kind, professional and knowledgeable in my hour of need this morning. My little dog started throwing up blood at 4 a.m. I called and they were waiting to see my little Teddy Bear and start treatment as soon as we arrived. I am so grateful. Thank you!

Matt Humphrey

Thank you for your compassion and empathy - as a cottager from out or town we didn’t know your office but your team & Dr helped the process that I never expected would have been so difficult for myself and family. We will never forgot your help for our dog, Tito.

Rebecca Lynn

Dr Bishop, Theresa, Shelley, and Emily were all amazing when I brought my cat Stubs in because he wouldn't eat or drink. You can definitely feel their love for animals and that they would look after them like their own. Dr Bishop gave his honest opinion about my concerns and gave me lots of options and ideas. Ultimately the choice was mine to decide which course to take. I never felt pressured into any test, or that I would be a bad pet owner if I didn't do a test, which some vets tend to do. This is the 2nd time I've had to use this clinic and I'm really happy to know they are there if needed. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Shona Gardner

We cannot thank this emergency clinic enough for helping our Marley. She is four months old. They were stellar in their diagnose and healing ! I made their life miserable with multiple phone calls and not once was I greeted with utter sympathy and respect. I do wish we had an emergency clinic closer to us but they were a class act! Congrats to ALL of your staff. And a hats off to our Minden vet clinic for updates and follow ups. We have our girl home. THANK YOU TO All of you!!

Joan Peters

I really appreciated the compassionate and quick service supplied to Skylar, our miniature Australian shepherd when he went into renal failure and had to be euthanized at 16 years old. Thank you to all the staff.

Christopher O'Mara

I attended KVEC on 01/23/2018 with my 2.5yo Bedlington Terrier named Howie who was suffering from suspected poisoning from an ingested substance. We were attended to by Dr. van den Mulen who quickly and confidently liased with the Poison Control Center using our reference number. The care offered to us at KVEC was second to none. Howie was safe and well cared for. KVEC forwarded records promptly to my home veterinarian for follow up. As a professional groomer there are many things I look for in a pet care facility and KVEC checked all of my boxes. Dr. van den Mulen also offered to fill out any necessary paperwork for his insurance. I must say I was surprised at the low cost of the emergency service I received. Emergency veterinary care is a specialized service that uses many expensive pieces of equipment, expensive drugs, requires talented and highly trained staff, and a state of the art facility - none of these things listed are inexpensive. The price I paid was below expected, and I would confidently refer any of my clients to KVEC in the event of an emergency. Thank you from Howie and I! Chris at Comar Bedlington Terriers Reg’d.

Kevin Misner

Travelled 1.5 hours to see vet, arrived and was told someone would be out in 15 min - no one came - called again said 15 min - called after that and said 3-4 hours. Extremely poor service and triage. Drove to Cavan and wonderful vet saw us to triage right away. I would not trust this facility with your pet.

Joanne Reid

Reasonable prices with caring and professional service.

My sweet kitty Rogue was ready to go to the rainbow bridge, so I called in to my vet and found out that they were sick and in quarantine. They said they would send the file to KVEC (so I wouldn't have to pay an emergency fee or exam fee) and an appointment was made. I went to the appointment and was in my car for 15 minutes then ushered into a room (by the vet tech) where she told me they wouldn't be doing an exam because I was just doing euthanasia (and because of Covid). She took him out to put the iv catheter in brought him back in and said the vet would be right in. The Vet came in and finished everything then let me stay with him for about a minute. During this time the secretary came in with the debit machine and I paid (almost $450). The tech came in and took Rogue away and they ushered me out( if that all took 10 minutes I would be surprised) I did not receive a bill or receipt, but I was a mess. I stewed about it for a long time before calling in. Everyone I spoke to including my Vet friend felt that the fee was too high and they made a mistake. So I called in, and I wish I hadn't because I am really angry and I will never go back to them, and I will never recommend them. I explained everything to the secretary and she passed me off to someone else who must be damage control officer because she didn't ask me anything she just launched in to defence mode, told me that they are 24hr clinic and they have to charge more and there is an aftercare fee because they need to establish a relationship with me..What? My cats dead, there will be no relationship with you...I'm angry. If you could have convinced me those fees were justified there would not be a problem...whoever owns this clinic needs to ditch the frontline staff and start over

Mary-Jane Den Hollander

So incredibly pleased with our experience at Kawartha emergency vet. Our darling Golden Retriever somehow got one porcupine quill in her left nostril while out on a walk today. The vet technician met with us, got consent, asked us to hold her still for a milli second. She confidently used a hemostate and removed the offending quill in such a smooth fashion, the dog was unaware of what was happening. Then she says excellent, got it all, she looks good ( not even one drop of blood) you can go now, no charge Happy New Year. Wow so amazing. Thank you so much. From the first contact on the phone to walking out the door A++ I would highly recommend.

Leanne Snow

We went in as an emergency call. All staff was very kind and understanding. We had to put our very loved cat Spanky to sleep but they helped us through all the decisions and never made us feel rushed. I would highly recommend them and I thank them for helping through a very sad time.

Elaine Campbell

We had to take our beloved Pippin in for euthanasia , and everyone was very compassionate and caring. Dr. Jones was wonderful, and she explained the whole procedure to our son. Thank you so much for being there when we decided it was time for Pippin.

Called 20 minutes before to pick up my cat when I got there they said I had to call again and spoke to me very condecendingly found the staff unprofessional

B Greene

The staff are absolutely AMAZING!!! They explained everything in detail and gave me constant updates about my cat Supra. I appreciate all of the hard work. Big shout out to Dr. Chouenant (might have spelt that wrong, sorry) and Tara. Thank you so much to all of the staff for being so friendly and compassionate. Highly recommend this clinic! Thank you again!

Leah Wooland

Everyone who works here was so incredibly kind. When I had to bring in my cat they not only took care of her so well but they even took care of me! They understood my worry and didn’t make me feel awful for freaking out

Diana Bonner

I would recommend KVEC. The care and compassion we received from all the staff and Dr. Unfortunately our beloved Fozzy passed away but the Dr explained everything to us and gave us as much time to say our good byes and was reasonable in cost for the euthanization and cremation. They fit us in right away did not make us wait as they could see Fozzy was suffering. Thank you to all the staff at KVEC for the care of Fozzy.

Rachel Clieff

I appreciate this hospital so very much. My dog has had quite a rough week, she was diagnosed with a pancreatitis and her throat began to swell up. KVEC treated my dog and I like family. They knew how much we were struggling and gave me a big discount. It meant so much to me, this is my 4th vet visit this week. I almost broke out crying when they gave me the bill and I seen what they had done for me. This right here is a clinic that really cares about you and your pet, not just money. Thank you so much KVEC! I will never forget this❤️

Although I had a very short experience at the clinic, the staff's empathy did not go unnoticed. It was very apparent that Dr. Prior and her staff were very knowledgable and well equipped. I will be recommending their services to everyone! Thank you for the card, an extremely beautiful and thoughtful touch.

The girls that work here and the vets are the best and so compassionate that I could not believe my stress level was through the roof when took our cat in last night and told me how sick he was after finding a spool of thread wrapped around his inner s decided to put him down I am not working due to my M S they helped us greatly by copming it thanks to you alk

Had a positive experience during a weekend emergency involving our dog. Friendly staff were very knowledgeable. They took the time to answer our questions and explain symptoms and potential outcomes for our situation. We were also happy with the cost and didn’t feel like they tried to over-treat our dog. We would recommend this business.

My pet was turned away and I was told to drive to Whitby at 1am with a 1wk old baby and 3 small children at home.

Alice Kukar

My dog Alice are so grateful to the KVEC vets and staff. They updated us with lots of detailed explanations, sent us photos, and took such good care of Alice. Thank you, from sparkle and alice

Delia Fetherstonhaugh

Absolutely amazing. Brought our dog in after an accident and they took extremely good care of him - emergency surgery right away at a relatively low cost. Thank you!

ian clark

Clinic was equipped with everything! Got an x-ray and blood tests on a weekend visit

Janice Skoblenick

Everyone at KVEC have gone above and beyond my expectations of a vet. My cat was ill with a fever with an unknown cause, and they were fantastic with her and gave very good recommendations and support. I would recommend them over and over again. They were all very knowledgeable.

We are so thankful for the kindness of Kawartha veteran services. Our vets (Ottonbee vets) that we have gone to for over 10 years refused to anything to do with us at our time in need The care and time you gave us will be for every in our hearts ???? And just as I write this we received a wonderful card from you all. Thanks again Dave,Maureen and our forver loved Casey

Angella Belch

We are very happy with the fast service for our 7 month old puppy! The staff was very kind and pleasurable to deal with! I hope we never need emergency service in the future but if we did we will be going back! Angela, Troy & Shandi

November 22 our little girl (cat) was helped by the wonderful vet and staff to cross over. She took I’ll suddenly on the Sunday and by Monday morning we knew she had become worse. Thinking it was a stroke we called our vet with the response we’ll have have nothing for a week or more. After a few calls to other vets in our area my husband called kawartha emergency vet and they said just come as soon as you can (no appointment time). We took her there and she was taken care of very well. Sadly they checked her over and came to the realization it was more of a brain tumour situation. Our hearts were instantly broken to hear that she will never recover. They made everything as easy as possible for us. I highly recommend them and will use them again. Thank you kawartha for helping my Ryanne cross over the rainbow bridge and be at a peaceful rest. Thank you for the beautiful card and her paw print ???? which I will cherish forever

Absolutely the worst veterinarian service. Receptionist was the rudest human being I've spoke to in my entire life. I dropped my dog off at 3:30pm and was told it would be a couple of hours to examine him. I finally got my dog back at 1:15am. Never ever will I return to this vet service. I do not trust them with my pets as there diagnostic was also incorrect. Strongly suggest taking your pets elsewhere. Really surprised this place is still operating.

If you can go anywhere else, do it. Spent hours waiting for "triage" which was essentially putting my dog in a crate inside the office. They said an exam was likely 2-3 hours after that (the exam is what you pay for) so I said I would hold onto her in the car until then. 3 hours later I call and they said she was 8th in line so we opted to leave. I think "triage" is holding your dog hostage until an exam so that you don't go anywhere else. When I asked about wait times and asked if I should go somewhere else (just because I wanted to make sure my dogs eye issue was treated that day) they said "I know for a fact there's a 6 hour wait at Cavan.. oh wait your dog is next up to be triaged just wait one minute for us to call you in"). That's when they took her inside but had no intention of looking at her for hours. Very disappointed since they could've just told me she wasn't that emergent and I could've driven her further to somewhere where she would at least get looked at. I'm technically still on their waiting list (it's 8pm and they still haven't called me since I took her in at 11am).

Sarah Forget

Seem to be all About business and money . There is not enough compassion , honesty and love for the animals and the owners feelings , especially when they are suffering with having to put an animal down or the pet is simply not going to get better . Sad but true .

I'll never forget the time I took my black lab in with what I thought to be bloat, which in some cases can be an emergency. Turned out to be indigestion and was prescribed pepcid, fair enough. Although the vet informed me that my lab looked to have an enlarged spleen, and that this likely indicated cancer. she asked if I would like to do some further testing, I immediately dismissed it as my lab (working dog, in peak shape) was showing no signs of anything. Needless to say, 6 years later my boy is in his tenth year, and happy as ever. A close friend of mine also had this phantom diagnosis with his Shepard during a visit. Be aware of this place! $$$

I wasnt able to take my baby to our regular vet and I had to unfortunately put him to sleep. I'm so grateful to the staff there. The vet was wonderful. They were respectful and kind and I am so appreciative that they were able to help me. I literally cant thank them enough

Valerie Rhindress

I went to this vet when my 2 kittens aspirated from bottle feeding a week apart. It costed me $2500.00 in vet fees to help them. I was extremely appreciative for them saving my kittens. The people I dealt with were very compassionate and caring. Nicole the vet tech there is very dedicated to her job and she treated me awesome. 2 weeks later, my boy kitten has had watery diarrhea for the last 6 days. I took him to my regular vet (who is in Kitchener) 2 days ago and had a full exam done on him. Unfortunately they were unable to collect a test because the poop is like water and didn’t have enough bulk. He suggested bringing a sample in to the vet I took him to here if I was able to get a better sample to test for possible parasites. I was able to bulk up his poop tonight enough to get a good sample. I called this evening and a woman answered. I told her the whole story, she located my file and then told me I would need to bring him in to be examined first if I wanted the sample to be tested. I didn’t see how that was necessary at all. The exam fee is $100 plus tax, but he already was seen by my vet and the suggestion was a PCR test. She refused to do the test for me unless I paid the exam fee, said I wasn’t a regular client there and they didn’t have a relationship with my vet so it was necessary..... even though they actually sent all of my test results to my vet and just 2 weeks ago I spent $2,500.00 there...... I asked to speak to one of the vets there because I felt like they treated me very fairly last time I was there and now this unnecessary money grab. She said “as a matter of fact, you’re speaking to a registered vet tech right now”....... ok so I wasn’t looking for your pompous, self-inflated ego to jump in on this, I just wanted my cats poop to be tested so I could know what meds to ask my vet to give me, as my vet instructed me to do. It sucks that one unreasonable employee can destroy a clients entire view of the place.

kyle garbutt

I called ahead and they were quick to help my dog and told me thoroughly what my options were and gave me an honest opinion on my dog. I had little wait time and was pleased with pricing.

Great vets, knowledgeable and compassionate.

This place is clearly all about the money and has zero consideration for people’s time. Originally my dog went in and was taken care of and this I am certainly thankful for. Even in this time, my husband was given one price, I was then given another price over the phone and in the end we were charged a much higher price than both prices that were discussed. However, when trying to do any follow up it was nothing but problems (of course they already have my money) I tried to phone to get better direction on a prescription that we got and got nothing but attitude on the phone. My dog was in for an eye procedure and the girl answering the phone suggested I google what the issue might be and suggested I put my finger in her eye. When explaining I wasn’t comfortable doing that I got nothing but attitude. The Vet later confirmed that was not correct so thank goodness I did not listen to this girl answering the phones ... I’m not sure how she is able to make these kind of suggestions. Now we were told to bring our dog to a Vet for a follow up and I had asked if I could bring here back here as I explained the procedure was done there and I’d already paid a decant amount of money. ( I have own pets my entire life and worked in a veterinary office and have never heard of a vet charging for a follow up) Well long story short the entire follow up took over three hours of mostly waiting for them to even see my dog ..Once seen, I spoke to the vet who provided the follow up information and the last thing she said to me was please bring her back to either your family vet or here in five more days for another follow up. Then I get a call from the receptionist who is calling to discuss the final bill. I ask her what kind of charges and she says there’s discounted exam fee .. I told her I made it clear that I was bringing my dog back to them to avoid more fees and I have never heard of vet charging for a follow up (yes I understand I should pay for any medications etc but not a base fee) I said I do not agree to that change - she said she would discuss with the Vet and call me back. When she called back they did wave the fee but asked me not to come back for another follow up with them. - I told her not worry I will never come back to the clinic after todays experience. Everything was all fine when they knew they were going to make hundreds of dollars off of us but once they already had our money it was nothing but problems trying to get help and once they realized they weren’t going to get much more money out of us they asked us not to return for more follow ups. On top of this we asked for the owners contact info to make sure they are aware of all of this and the receptionist said the Vet on duty was the owner. I’m literally disgusted

We have had two really good experiences with KVEC. The first one ultimately led to my kitty being put down. In no way was this the clinics fault and they were very supportive throughout the diagnostic and decision making process. Informed me of all possible treatments and outcomes and gave me time to make my decision with no pressure. The second was also very low pressure. After being advised by another emergency vet that I should wait until my cat was so sick she stopped eating and drinking (which in my experience with cats means it's too late) I decided to call KVEC. They saw my kitty right away, talked me through recommended testing and possible treatments depending on the results before I even consented to testing. Staff was all great and explained everything so well. Thank you to all.

Olivia Wilson

The staff at KVEC are absolutely amazing! They were friendly, fast and efficient, thank you all so much for taking care of my Earl. This was hands down the best experience I've had a any vet clinic!!

Alysha Turcotte

I can not say enough good things about this place. My dog had major surgery and things didnt go well, my vet was closed so I went there and they were wonderful, she had to be there a few days and they let me come in and sit with her leave a shirt so she had our smells (pre covid) Unfortunately I had to put her down and they were so caring. I brough another dog there that had an allergic reaction to a hornet sting and same thing just wonderful caring people.

Evelyn Yateman

Thank you for all your help with kittens yesterday. Help was speedy and very compassionate.

Everytime I had to make a phone call certain staffs sounded very rude and impatient. I asked about potentially sending my prescription to my vet for pick up and was responded with a very curt no that’s not what they do. I understand if that’s not normal protocol but the attitude was very unpleasant. I was surprised because the reviews were usually great on google for this clinic. The treatment itself was good (dog had lick wound). The area was cleaned properly and fur was cut. He was prescribed with a combination cream, I asked the doctor for ingredients and she was unsure until she looked it up. I said I can likely substitute it at home with x and hyderm, and she wasn’t sure what hyderm was. This didn’t give me great confidence and I ended up doubting whether he should’ve been prescribed with oral antibiotic instead. However, the initial vet tech who took my dog in was very nice and I believe her name is Angela. I usually don’t leave reviews but I’m very unhappy with the multiple phone services I’ve received with this clinic. They sounded extremely condescending and unpleasant. Follow up: my dogs cone was too small and he can still lick his wound standing up. Had to go to my regular vet and was prescribed 7 day oral antibiotic instead.

Absolutely excellent. Called ahead to let them know our situation and as soon as we arrived they came and got our dog. The Vet, Dr. Dell, was wonderful. Very concise information, extremely caring - to us as well as our dog - gave us an estimate for the treatment and in the end pretty much nailed it. The Front of House lady, Val, was very helpful and answered any questions I had with great kindness. The lovely Vet Tech, whose name I did not get, she has gorgeous red hair, explained all of the post-op information and made sure that we understood the instructions completely. Even though the reason for our visit was distressing, everyone there made it the best possible experience for us under the circumstances. Highly recommend.

Heather Paterson

not impressed. Kept my dog in a cage for 45 mins. before looking at him and very expensive. still not able to find cause of illness.

Alyssa Rowe

I was there last weekend with my kitten; was my first time ever taking my animal to emergency. It was a great experience from the first time i called to arriving and leaving. The wait time was long, but the service was excellent and i felt at ease! Well done and thank you. Amy and Dr Audra you rock!

John Moroz

Our dog ran into a branch that went down his throat. We were so fortunate that they were able to save him for us. They were quick, efficient and kept us informed even though we couldn’t be in with him. They told us each time they need to do something with him and told us all costs involved. Two weeks later he is almost as good as new. Well done! Thank you.

I took my baby Bordeaux in cause he was limping and crying. By the time I got to the vet he wasn't walking at all. We were told it would be a 3 hour wait, understanding that high priority patients are seen first. I watched 2 dogs walk in wagging their tails happy to be there while we sat in our car trying to calm my 6 month old pup who is in obvious pain! They finally called to have him come in but unfortunately we left to try somewhere else that maybe could see him sooner. I explained to the doc this and she was rude and yelled at me while I'm balling my eyes out, "well that's your choice!" She slammed the phone down and hung up on me! I was shocked at her unprofessional attitude and disgusting behavior towards me as I kept my cool! The receptionist is a sweet heart and felt bad for us so she is letting the manager know and said we'll get a call back when they can. So whoever you are lady, maybe you're in the wrong profession and need to self-reflect on the way you treat people!

I had to visit today with a sick cat. She was crying in terrible pain, seemingly out of no where. Kawartha Emergency Vet were able to guide us, see our meow today and diagnose the issue. Every staff member we dealt with were calm, kind and understanding. They clearly take COVID precautions seriously at the clinic and at the end of the day, I found the bill to be very reasonable for the services we received. Being an out of town emergency clinic, I hope I never have to return. But if I do, I know my four legged family members will receive excellent care. Thank you, we are all home and resting after a stressful day, made easier by the care we recieved. ❤️????

Holly T

Excellent competent and timely emergency service at a very reasonable price. Thanks for helping my dog!

Tiffany Bertram

We took our dog in on Sunday Dec 13th, we had a 14 and a half year old beautiful lab, the lady Dana, at the front door was really kind. We were assured by the assistant while she poked my dog for her iv two times because she had low blood pressure and missed the first time. Also told us that the iv catheter will be removed from our dog after she passed, as well as a technician would come and help us with her legs for travel as we were taking her to her new forever home which was a bit of a distance. We called the vet after sometime spent with our baby before we put her to rest, I asked some questions and was told answers quickly, then was asked am I ready, honestly when is anyone ready to let their pets go? I certainly wasn’t ready, but said ok, so after she passed vet checked heart she was gone. We asked about legs and she said they look fine and didn’t send a tech out like we were told. Also we got home and as we uncovered our girl her iv was still in her arm. Anyways this place is great because they are open 24 hours, but considering I just lost my best friend of 14 and a half years this was quite upsetting. Sorry for the book but this was a hard day. Just wish things were a little different.

Marianne M.

Huge lack of communication between staff, who will assumingly blame you or be offended instead of asking question. Cost is through the roof and you many not even get to see a vet due to traffic volume, and if your pet does it will likely not be treated right.

Midian Kurono

My family brought our female cat in for an emergency. The first kitten got stuck and there was concern that not only the momma, but the babies would all die if they didn't get help. This "vet" demanded 2000 dollars up front or they wouldn't do nothing. Refused to offer a payment plan whatsoever. How can it be considered an emergency place if they demand such an insane fee up front? No one is going to be prepared for that. People trained to save animals were just willing to let a mother and her unborn babies die because they didn't get their greedy fix satisfied. Completely pathetic and taking advantage of pets in crisis.

Shawna Howell

I can’t say enough great things about this pet hospital. I’ve visited them twice now and all of the staff I encountered were very compassionate and kind. It makes such a big difference when you are stressed and concerned for your pet to deal with kindness as well as understanding when you are under financial constraints. I highly recommend this pet hospital.

Alex Guzman

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET CLINIC. Save yourself and go to Jackson Creek instead. They are the absolute worst, complete money grab with no regard for the animals that they treat. My parents brought their 10 yr old dog who had an obstructed bowel to this clinic in an emergency state, they then after X-rays told them $4000 extremely complicated surgery was needed in order to fix the problem. But my parents already knew that since he was a senior (especially for his breed) he would have slim chances of a success in the surgery, as well as in having a hard life already didn’t want to further put him through something (which is their right as pet owners). In trying to convince them to do this surgery they used absolutely childish guilting manipulation including using the fact that the dog was blind and that they ‘wouldn’t put a blind dog down, so why put a senior dog with a bowel obstruction down?’ What kind of money driven childish people run this place? Further proving my point of how disappointing Peterborough is.

James Reidy

Ran nto a porkupine and had a quill imbeded in our dogs nose.Instead of a 3 hr wait aand posible surgery tech removed quill w ith forcepts free of charge.Great staff.

Absolutely horrible. Won't give my dog antibiotics for mastitis. Go elsewhere ASAP and avoid all their trouble. Reporting them to the college .

This place is seriously in need of a competent receptionist. Val interacted with customers with a condescending tone of voice and clipped words. She is the person who passes messages to the hospital staff, and it is my belief that she communicates her irritation with customers to them when she does so, given their responses. One dog owner had a dog whose skin had been stripped off his side exposing meat, and was kept waiting 20 minutes before the technician came to get the dog (we all had to wait outside because of Covid) because the technician had been told the dog had a "gash". The tech called out to the others "This is way worse than a gash", and the owner exclaimed that he had "tried to tell them that." Val should be doing paperwork somewhere and not interacting with clients.

S K

My experience today at this clinic was horrible starting with the receptionist Katie. I will provide a detailed review once Joanne the manager returns my call. Unless you want hallway treatment for your animal, I suggest you not to go here.

Mike Brown

Awesome vet ! Went around 1 am and was dealt with fast and the receptionist was very nice and easy to talk to and understand what was happening prices where good thought they would have been alot higher for an emergency vet but they where cheaper then another vet that I called which was awesome they helped my dog fast and didn't mess around very thankful for that and they gave me some really good advice on some meds for her ears and about told me alot about dog food allergies also overall very happy I just wish this was a everyday vet to so I could just keep going here thanks everyone !

Fair efficient and available. Doctor was very empathetic when my cat needed to be put down.

Kaytlin Daniel

I can't believe their prices, the quote we were given for a simple stitch on my pups foot was crazy! We went elsewhere for HALF the price!

Brought my dog in with swelling, probably a bug bite reaction/allergic reaction. They were SO great, so quick, and with everything going on with COVID-19 they made things super safe for everyone, and even let my dog come back out to wait with me as he was a little nervous without us in there with him and they didn't want him to feel scared ❤ He got some shots and sent home with some meds for him, thanks again guys ????????????

I took my dog here 5 months ago with what I thought was an obstruction in his throat. My dog was in there for 3 days. They checked everything but his throat, full body X-ray (not including his throat)as well as blood work. The Vet showed us the X-ray saying “I think this is the spleen”, “ I think this is the kidney”. Not very competent reading X-rays.We were told my dog had fluid on the heart and cancer. They had my dog on oxygen pretty much for the whole 3 days saying he was panting which means he’s struggling to breathe. They finally checked his throat when I continually told them my concern was his throat as he ate an ember from our wood fireplace they discovered he had “tumors in his throat” I said can’t it be burnt from the ember and they said no. I trusted them that their diagnoses was correct. We were going into put my dog down on the third day. Thank goodness we decided against it. He saw me and was so happy, yes he was panting still but my dog has never been separated from me in his 12 years and he has separation anxiety and pants. As soon as we left with him he stopped panting. His throat healed up and his new vet said he is perfectly fine. I almost put my perfectly fine dog down. Spent $4,200 on him for a wrong diagnosis. Go with your instincts when it comes to your animal. Thank goodness we did.

Shame on you people for one star reviews. Don’t blame your pets death on your cheapness and don’t blame their health on your lack of care. I live in Newcastle and made the decision to take my chocolate lab here and couldn’t ask for anything better. Still got in quicker than I would have trying to get into my local vet, COVID SAFE, and they only recommended further testing but didn’t make me feel pressured. This place will take good care of your pets, your feelings are Second! I Love this place because they loved for my dog. $150 with a check and a prescription/meds out the door. I was terrified my girl had a twisted stomach. They assure me it isn’t. Now I’m pretty sure she ate a bee.

Danielle Hartin

These people are amazing!! They had care and compassion for my 3week old doberman when sadly she had a few issues going on! Over the course of 4 days/nights I spoke with numerous staff and doctors who were all extremely helpful. I'm so happy to have found such an awesome emergency service who wasn't all about $$, they were upfront and honest about possibilities and cost efficiency but most of all the outcome of my sweet girl. Highly recommend

Maureen

My Little Fluff got her wings on Sunday September 3rd, 2017 @ 1pm. The staff were excellent!! They went above & beyond for my 18 year old Kitty! Thank you so much for all your kindness & compassion Dr Norman & staff during this most difficult time!!

Glenn Stoller

Totally amazing team I have had to take my dog into the Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic (KVEC) twice (June and September) while visiting Peterborough. They are an incredible team of professionals all around. They immediately took him in for diagnosis and treatment. He has had a murmur for four plus years that has now progressed to Congestive Heart Failure. The Vets at KVEC took their time to explain his condition and to listen to my questions and concerns. Their team was able to give me updates even when I called in the middle of the night to see how he was doing. Seeing your animal struggle for breath is one of the most scary things a pet owner / guardian can ever experience. You want to make sure the Vet taking care of you animal is knowledgeable and compassionate. The team at KVEC is both. They were great at recommending adjustments to his medications and communicating with his Vet back where we live. Thank you KVEC for taking good care of Barney and helping me through a very scary time.

Alison Stephanie

I can never thank this clinic enough. We took our little dog in for an emergency and the compassion, and kindness they gave to myself as the owner automatically made me feel less stressed. They were so good with my little furbaby took him right in and assessed him. We are so happy with everything they did for us. Our dog is home s home and happy again. I can never thank the staff enough for what they did for us

Lynn Cook

This clinic is amazing. The staff were super supportive and called every few hours to give us updates on our poor sick boxer. When we came in to visit, one of the staff even looked after our toddler for a few minutes so we could cry and cuddle our dog. They did everything they could and when our dog passed, he looked comfortable and at peace. This is the best place he could've been for medical care.

Cathy Hartwick

Had to make the difficult decision to euthanize my little 14 year old dog, Dr Dell and all the staff I dealt with at KVEC were kind, informed me of the options and the likely outcomes and gave me the time to decide and accept. Many, many thanks. Excellent office.

The experience and level of professionalism we experienced at Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic on Aug 9, 2018 was second to none. The entire staff was warm and friendly; the vet was great and took her time to diagnose correctly. The price I paid was below expected and I would confidently recommend this clinic! Thank you!

The worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. Brought our dog here while on vacation up north as he had a small cut. We had to wait for 3.5 hours in our car in -35 degree temperature because everything was closed. Our dog had a small cut and They wanted to sedate him before determining if he needed stitches or staples one would be $800 and the other option $1000. We were told his cut had stopped bleeding so we asked them to bandage it up and we would go home and take him to our regular vet. We were met with a very rude attitude that we were not choosing one of the options they gave us. We were charged over $300 to bandage his paw and to have a cone. When we took him home to our regular vet the next day they were able to give him two staples with numbing his paw plus all needed medications for $300 and in and out within 45 minutes. Absolutely disgusted with this place unless you have an absolute emergency I would avoid this place at all costs!

This was our first visit to the Emergency Clinic and I was very impressed with the whole experience. My dog had torn out a nail while playing fetch, and while not life-threatening, it was certainly a concern in terms of bleeding and possible infection. All of the staff that I dealt with were very knowledgeable, thorough, professional, caring, efficient, and so kind to my dog. They took excellent care of her, explained what they were doing all along, and explained clearly what I would need to do at home. I found the bill to be totally reasonable, exactly what I would have expected to pay had we gone to our regular vet.

On vacation near Algonquin park our giant poodle twisted is stomack playing frizbee.Since we only had a few hours to save his life.We had to drive 2.5 hours to peterborough after we call the clinic.Because of the quick reaction taken by the staff and the surgeon in place we were able to bring our loving pet back home on monday after 2 days spend in good hands...we could never thank you enough...xox

I took my cat in for a bladder problem and was very happy with the service. The staff were very concerned about him and examined him right away in case he had a blockage which can be very serious. It turns out he wasn't blocked and after a urine test and some medications including something for pain we went home. Fees were reasonable and what I expected. Would definitely go there again.

I'm not from the area: my dog needed emergency treatment while I was on vacation. I found the staff to be helpful and compassionate, and I thought the pricing was very reasonable for an emergency vet clinic. The initial assessment was only $99, which was less than I've encountered in the past. If I was in the same position in the future, I would definitely use this clinic again.
