After being told our vet was too busy, one phone call and Dr. Sharma took my dog in a moments notice when he collapsed with a very high temperature after playing with our other dogs. He was experiencing heat stroke (temp of 108). Anyone who knows about heatstroke and dogs knows it was only a matter of minutes and he could have died. Dr. Sharma was amazing and has a new client in me.

I took my diet in as he wasn't able to pee. They kept my dog for 4 days They were very good to my dog.He quickly became their friend also. I am extremely happy with the care he received from all of the staff. They even followed up few days after he was home to be sure he was responding well to his surgery and medicines. I was even able to go in daily and take my dog for a walk and/or just hang out there with him Very Happy girl I am. Thanks so much for all yous have done for our family . xo

For an infected wound and fever, he wanted to keep our cat overnight and do surgery!? All the cat needed was antibiotics and a fluid shot under the skin. Thankfully we are very in tune with our cat and took him in as soon as we noticed his change in his behaviour. Will not be going back! Don't let your pets become his Guinea pigs.

I brought my 8+ week old pup here in late December for a "wellness check" as suggested by my breeder. I chose Tranquille Rd. Animal Hosp. based on online reviews which is why I feel the need to write a review myself... I got a bad feeling as soon as I walked in the door of the clinic as it seemed to be very run down and in need of a good cleaning; the furniture was chewed up and the floors were filthy. My pup had been to a vet 3 days before with his litter mates for his 8 week checkup, tattoo and vaccinations and was deemed to be in perfect health. I was escorted into an exam room where I would see the vet. The vet that I saw was a visiting intern and had no bedside manner. She was completely disinterested in my adorable little fur ball (WHO doesn't love a new puppy????). She also seemed to be searching for potential problems. He had a minor rash inside his ear at his (recent) tattoo site that she wanted to prescribe antibiotics for. I refused suggesting that I would observe the rash and act if it seemed to worsen (It healed on it's own in 3 more days). The final straw for me was when I was on the receiving end of her "you're so stupid" look (I recognized it from raising 3 teenagers) when I told her of my informed decision to leave my male pup intact until he was fully physically matured. The research is inconclusive regarding neutering males early and actually strongly leans towards leaving males of his breed intact until 10 to 14 months of age, thus my decision. She actually argued with me saying "NO, he must be neutered at 4-6 months". I politely disagreed and the visit came to an end. I paid the $52.00 + Tax Examination/Consult/Office Visit charge and resolved to find another vet in Kamloops. I could not, in good conscience, recommend this clinic to anyone after my experience.

I started going here since I moved to the North Shore. I can say that I am not impressed at all. The main dark haired assistant at the counter is not friendly and comes across as impatient and rude. I walked in with my mask on a few weeks ago since there were no signs saying "do not enter." There were two other people inside being helped by this woman. She immediately turns to me and says "No no, you can't be in here. You need to go back outside. We aren't allowing customers inside because of covid. Outside please." She shoos me out, locks the door behind me, and proceeds to chat with the two customers inside. So I was definitely a little confused at this and felt embarrassed. I've never even met the main vet before, I just get my cat back and a debit machine shoved in my face with little to no information on treatment plans or how procedures went. You need to tell the receptionist she needs to be more hospitable because her attitude and demeanour is extremely off-putting because I will most likely be returning to the south shore vets from now on.

I can't say enough great things about this place. My 10 year old niece had to send her kitty to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. The kitty had cancer and we had no idea. A week ago she seemed fine, so this came as a big shock. For a 10 year old to have to make the decision not to let her pet suffer was difficult for all of us. The staff at the Animal Hospital were outstandingly compassionate to a little girl when she needed them to be, and for that we are forever grateful. They made a tough decision a little easier for one little gal. They treated us with respect and took the best care of our kitty in her final moments. Nothing short of awesome.

I've just finished reading the reviews and I would like to share my opinion and experience with others. From time to time we all hear both positive and negative comments about our own personal experiences with physicians surgeons dentists and veteranarians. There are no guarantees that each and every one of us is always going to be satisfied with treatment we or our loved ones receive under the care of professionals. That said, how many of us can conceive a person going through medical school to become a veteranarian, doctor, dentist or surgeon and then open a practice with anything less than honorable intensions...Let's not be so synical. It is the most devastating experience to lose a loved one or pet, the pain is unimaginable, but I choose to believe that these care providers we put our trust in to treat those we love have the very best intensions and do care... In spite of an outcome that may result in a way we do not ever wish to hear or face. Not one of us is infallible...But we try because we care and continue to learn so we may be better. Dr. Sharma, his colleagues and the entire staff have demonstrated the utmost professionalism and empathy for my family and all our fur children. In spite of every effort on behalf of Dr. Sharma we have had to face the tragedy of uethanasia, but he cared and he hurt too, more importantly our pets no longer had to suffer...We all cried. Our dog Merlin was treated by Dr. Sharma for liver failure that left him within an inch of his life. We were told to brace for the worst because of the severity of our dog's condition...It was an exposure to an extreme toxic alkaloid in the form of a noxious weed that threatened the life of Merlin. That was December 19 2014... Every measure was taken to treat the condition that Dr Sharma had likely never faced before. On Dec. 24 we received a call from the office giving Merlin the green light to come home for Xmas. Merlin's liver damage was permanent, but thanks to the dedication and committment on behalf of our vet, we still enjoy our loyal tail wagger. Thanks to all of the team at Tranquille Rd. Animal hospital...Especially Dr. Sharma Rory, Suzanne, Merlin and Roux

I brought my 5yr old male cat in July to get neutered, shots, tattooed, blood tests etc. I was told he was in good health. Even after explaining I was worried about his loss of weight and heavy consumption of water. They said he was healthy. I took him in again on August 18 after him visibly being very ill. He had to be put down for advanced kidney failure. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!

The vet is not friendly with my dog, doesn't try to calm his obvious anxiety at all. Did a terrible job clipping my dogs nails (left jagged spilt tips) and the vet warned me that if my dog was "bad" (struggled at all) then he'd charge $18. I won't be going back.

I don't normally write reviews but I want to share my experience to inform other people to go else where with their babies. I have a 3 month old pup who wasn't well, the vet came out to the car to text her for parvo, stuck a large Qtip in her rear (no prepping, didn't even say hi to the dog, didn't even allow her to sniff him out, had no treats) but instead laughed and called her a baby when she whimpered. Its important to make their vet experiences positive at such a young age, and he was not an animal person at all. He then gave her her examination when she was negative for parvo, but the exam consisted of checking her heart rate and looking at ears. There was no examining her mouth, teeth toes, hair, bum, eyes. I went to the central hospital for animals also on tranquille, they are amazing.... vet Steven Lewis introduced himself, gave her treats, and told us to bring her around at any point in time to make this place a safe place for her. I do not recommend this Animal Hospital beside Total Pet... just no. Receptionists were nice, but that's it. Its also a bit dirty in there. Just needed to share my honest opinion and experience.

We have been taking our dog, Shiloh to see Dr. Sharma since she was 8 weeks old, so that makes 4 years now! We believe he is the best vet in town!! He always has Shiloh's best intrest at heart and explaines things very thoroughly to us. His bedside manners are one in a million. The staff are very friendly and helpfull as well.

Have been there twice now where we weren't charged correctly. The first time there was a bag of $20 plus dog treats added to the bill, we never bought dog treats. Had to go back and get the money refunded. The second time we were charged $575 when the bill was $295. Being busy working people we didn't notice until later. We did get the money back but come on! What is going on there? Padding the bills and hoping we don't notice?? My sister took her cat in a couple of days ago with a broken/severed tail. The bill was huge and they told them to put the cone on themselves because she woke up before they could get it on. For any cat owner out there...do you know how hard that is? Needless to say, the cat has no cone and everyone is hoping for the best. I will never go back! Ever!

Had a great experience bringing my cat in for a check up. We saw Dr Joshi, who was awesome with my anxious kitty, and actually talked to him to try to make him feel comfortable. I was a behind in my shots and he bundled it with the check up which saved me some change and helped me avoid a separate visit. The staff was tied up with an emergency, but not once did I feel like my cat’s check up was any less important. The staff stayed past close to serve the appointments that fell behind, and were very friendly and professional. I will be bringing my cat back again!

If I could give less than one star I would. My 10-year old dog had a kidney stone and when my husband took her to Dr. Sharma, he said the only option was to euthanize her. That didn't sound right to my husband and I, so we took her to a different vet in Kamloops and they performed a surgery to remove the stone. That was four years ago and she is still alive, healthy, and happy to this day. After that we never felt confident taking our pets there for medical issues, but I continued to have my cat shaved (lion cut) under sedation there two time a year. It seemed like a simple procedure. That was until they changed the type of sedation and increased the dosage, yet never bothered to tell me it would take several days for the sedation to wear off, instead of the usual 2-3 hours. On the third day, when my poor cat was still not really eating and his 3rd eyelid was covering his eyes, I took him to a different vet because I thought maybe Dr. Sharma's staff had harmed him. The other vet had my cat's records faxed over and discovered he was given a different kind and high dose of sedative. Since then, whenever I talk about these experiences with other pet-owners I know or meet, they often tell me they too have either had bad experiences with Dr. Sharma or know of someone else who has. If you care about your pet, please do not take them to this vet/hospital... you never know what will happen.

Our experience with Dr. Sharma was horrific. Our dog went to the clinic to have an emergency spay which resulted in life threatening complications. Bacteria from her uterus when removed spilled into our dogs stomach causing a massive infection. When we noticed she was again sick we took her to one of the emergency clinics where they performed a lenghty surgery to try and save wiley. We have to wait for about 4 wks to see if the infection will return since it was well into the stomach. If it returns we will have to put our dog down since the next option is out of town and WAY out of our financial ability. Dr. Sharma has refused any responsibilty for this mess and blamed us for taking our dog to another clinic. The other clinic offered us a large compassionate discount towards our bill even though the mess was not their doing. When things go wrong like in our situation is it appropriate..compassionate or responsible to tell the pet owner basically its your problem...even though i performed the surgery..sorry u figure out how to pay 3000 for a bill that may not even save your dog...after already paying 1700 for the initial spay. I am sickened and sad..especially with how we were treated by Dr. SHARMA. i have owned many pets and horses in my life...worked for a vet....but have never experienced this kind of treatment. I am so thankful for Riverside Vet clinic that has stepped up to try and help us through this. They have offered support and compassion. Dr. Sharma you should be ashamed of yourself

I've been using this vet office for a few years now and there has been two different occasions when they didn't examine my animals properly. One being I brought my sick kitten in I thought it was a girl but if they were doing a proper examination you'd think they would tell me my cat was a boy. Two being I rescued a dog in dire need of medical care and they spent about five minutes with her and then told me she needs bloodwork when she had infection which was causing her to be so sick. She just needed antibiotics. Waste of money don't take your pets here. I've chosen a new vet office as of today hoping Ella gets the care she deserves.

Great vets & staff.Did not realize how good they were until i had to deal with vets in Quesnel,who will not even order my dog life saving medicine with out charging me for another visit which is unethical & cruel.Now I have a dog that is starving to death because he does not have his Enzyeme meds that he takes to break down his food into nutrients. Now I find out the surgery they were going to send me to Vancouver for is done right here by another vet and my dog has been on thyroid meds for no reason. Stay away.

This was the worst Veterinary visit my dog and I have ever had. We were so close to walking out. Both my dog and I did not feel comfortable in the office. Dr. Anil Sharma was rough with my dog. He was impersonal throughout our visit. He was defensive towards me asking why my dog needed the treatment he suggested. My bill was outrageous! My dog is a big guy but there is no reason why antibiotics are $70 when other vets have been $25. My dogs condition did not clear up. I would not recommend this establishment.

Our dog was entered at this clinic , he went through the typical after surgery procedures , pain killers 2 weeks anti biotics . the wound swole and opened after the cone came off. We returned to clinic only to have the vet drain the wound and prescribe another $100 worth of meda. Here i am 6 weeks later and the wound has opened again. Upon calling the vet the lady on the phone hung up on us multiple times and refused to deal with us . horrible outfit . i reccomend anywhere else .

Worst vet i have ever dealt with. Brought my 10 year old Rotty in a couple times, Doctor missed diagnosed him twice saying he had a definite cancerous tumour that turned out to be a skin tag after biopsy $1000 later then prescribed him seizure meds with zero examination. Ended up finding a better vet that actually did examinations and didn't just guess. The prices here are double what i have found at all others in town and due to the miss diagnosis of my loved dog it lead to his unfortunate death. Furthermore when Oriole rd vet asked this one for his blood work to be sent over he refused even when oriole rd said it was an emergency, he still made waves and wouldn't;t send it over. As far as i'm concerned no one should have to go through what i have and be charged an arm and a leg and still end up loosing my dog. This Doctor should be in jail for negligence and robbery.

Just had our boy Ruger’s first TPLO surgery on May 8th. He is already walking on the leg and supporting full weight when going to the bathroom. We are very happy with how he was treated, their staff goes above and beyond. Even his vet tech worried overnight and checked cameras at 4am to see how our baby was coming out of anaesthetic. I have called the clinic a few times and they were very helpful. Also the cost was affordable compared to other clinics. Thank you for making our boy feel better! We’ve already referred another family members’ furry friend for dental surgery and he came out smiling ????Very impressed!

Very expensive as far as vets go. They took the liberty of giving our cat a shot without asking that cost 170.00$ and didnt work then when we went back for the right medicine they charged us for the new medicine and something they said the forgot to charge for from original visit. Hopefully the new medicine works.

Our cat was boarding at the clinic while we moved to a new city and became very ill. She passed away in their care. I phoned asking about getting a clay paw print done and mailed to us. The clinic called me back later that day saying that the crematory no longer did paw prints - but because they really loved our cat and empathized with our situation, they went to Micheal's and found a clay kit to do a paw print for us and offered to mail it. They also gave us a huge discount on the boarding fee as well as some other things that our kitty needed before she passed. I was extremely impressed with the service this clinic provided. It is clear that very kind and compassionate people work here, who really understand what it's like to lose a pet. Amazing!

Can't explain how thankful I am for this vet and the staff. Everyone is so kind and patient, even in my panicked manor to get my cat in. 3 months ago 1 of my cat needed dental surgery and he is 12, everything went so smoothly and hes so happy and healthy. And yesterday my 6 year old cat was diagnosed with Pyometra and had to have emergency surgery to remove her uterus and everything went very well. I am so thankful for these doctors and I couldnt be more appreciative for everything they and there staff has done. I recommend this vet to everyone.

Very impressed. I was able to get our cat seen on the same day I called. She had gotten speargrass imbedded into her eye. The staff was great. They all were abiding by the Covid protocols. My cat was seen in a very timely manner and she came home so happy and relieved. And the price was less than I was expecting. All around great experience.
