We have Kamloops Large animal Vets come out to our ranch and look after our horses. They are always accommodating, helpful and very knowledgable! We would be lost without them. I can not find the words of feel about the team at this clinic. They were beyond amazing when I showed up there (wrong clinic I might add) with my little girl who was in quite a state. And they very quickly whisked her up and started working on her right away even though they were not the emergency clinic that day they jumped in to help a panicked mom and her emergency pup. The whole team was amazing and Dr Rebecca all I can Is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart you kept me well informed every step of the the way gave me every option (realistically) and you were made me feel at peace wth each decision until the end. Awesome experience here. I was very worried about bringing my senior cat to the vet as he is pretty skittish around new people but he did amazingly here! The smaller exam room helped him feel safe and less exposed and the ladies who examined him did a fantastic job!! He stayed very calm the entire time even during the blood work. Dr. Stewart was very kind and explained everything thoroughly. I really appreciate the amazing service from everyone at this clinic! You can tell they all really care about their clients and of course their pets! This is my go-to clinic from now on. :-)

For five or six years, we have chosen to travel the 2 hours from our home at Deka Lake to Kamloops Veterinary Clinic because we feel strongly that we can trust the staff there as well as the veterinarian whom we always see. She is very thorough and provides complete clear explanations as well as making sure we can afford any necessary medications or procedures. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful in all ways. It is a pleasant atmosphere and makes the stress of bringing our animals in much easier. We have had no problems and are always pleased with efforts made to fit us in for appointments and to see to our needs. Much gratitude to KVC for looking after our animals, and subsequently us, so well. Our daughter, who is now living in Kamloops again, has returned to this clinic after a few years away moving to various communities with her career. She remembered the great service she got years ago and chose to come back to KVC.

I have a lot of pets, and have been seen a lot of vets, in a lot of clinics. Some are great, some are alright, and some are downright bad. The Kamloops Veterinary Clinic is at the top of my list when my pets need care. I can't sing enough praises for the staff. They are some of the kindest, friendliest, most compassionate people I've had the pleasure to meet. Once or twice can be luck, but every visit, with each pet over the course of five years is just darn good service. I truly respect the staff, and while I have not personally delt with each doctor, the ones I have seen repeatedly give a definite sense of the high standard held at this clinic. I have a number of exotic pets, and I am always impressed by the extra effort taken to brush up on the particular critter I'm bringing in, as well as using resources to make sure were are giving them the care they need.h They go above and beyond, and it it always appreciated. Trying to get some cat dewormer drontle* My cat past some a couple of days ago i live over an hour out of town and no car no cat cage They said they will only let me (buy) a prescription And I have to pay 75$ and bring her into Kamloops to be examined.... Again no car I know what worms in scat looks like I don't need a DR. To charge me money for that..... my cat needs the medicine. ..... lady on the phone basically said well if you don't pay Come in and pay is Your cat will die. ...... no compassion The Robot on the phone had no feelings ????????????

I've been to the Kamloops Veterinary Clinic on three occasions. I was very happy with the first visit and vet who saw our puppy and older dog. On the second visit I was chastised repeatedly by a different vet, who outright dismissed me when I suggested my dogs crusted and depigmented nose 'might' be autoimmune related. She prescribed a triple formula antibiotic/antifungal/steroid cream when I had asked for a steroid cream as a first line option to help rule out allergies & autoimmune issues and avoid antibiotic overuse. She adamantly refused my request and my hopes for avoiding a biopsy later. I'm a retired, for health reasons, medical professional and I was completely dismissed. She also became angry due to the difficulty my puppy had with nail clipping, which she was unable to do, when on a previous visit a vet tech had no problem. She said in a raised and angry voice that, "You will just have to desensitize him." I was shocked and based on my first positive experience, decided I'd see a different vet at the clinic for future visits. My third visit was for a skin infection for my older dog. Once we scheduled with a different vet, I had high hopes; however, I was regrettably ten minutes late and was met with a contemptuous glare and was loudly told that, because I was late, my dog would only get the ten minutes left in her appointment. I asked if the vet was running late or if she was waiting for me? If she was running late maybe that should be considered. The angry, confrontational receptionist didn't answer my question. Her outburst was unwarranted even if they weren't running behind, and consumers are often kept waiting. And, because I was late, I'd have been more than happy to forego the ten minutes. As she took us into the exam room, she again chided me with an angry, "You get ten minutes,". I then asked again if the vet was running on or behind schedule to which she yelled, "You be quiet! I won't tolerate you talking to me like that!" I hadn't raised my voice. The attending vet was understanding and apologetic when I brought up the angry receptionist, explaining they were short one vet and had had an extremely hectic day. On examining my dog, she immediately stated it was a skin infection and she wouldn't have a problem prescribing oral antibiotics. I had expressed concerns about the high cost of vet visits on my limited budget early on, so I was relieved she wasn't going to take a wait and see approach with additional charges. She then took a swab and said she was going to have a look at it and left the room. My $150 bill included an additional $40 fee for that, which I paid without question, but did mention high care costs again. I have since received a letter from Kamloops Veterinary Clinic dismissing me from future care due to my expressing concern over the high costs of veterinary care. I think they mispreprent my concerns for critism directed at their staff personally, which was not the case! Id like to add that I've discovered vet care has become so expensive because big business has taken over in most Canadian cities. This results in care being out of reach, and has resulted in a severe inadequacy, for our beloved pets living in low to median income homes. I know two families who've surrendered their dogs to kill shelters as a result. I was also recently told by someone they were going to have their puppy euthanized for a bout of diarrhea because they were unable to incur the high costs of testing. That said, I've researched alternatives to the high cost of big business run veterinary medicine and found an online service in Ontario (started by Emma Harris in response to high costs) to provide a more equitable care for our furry family members. It's called Healthy Pets and will be an online veterinary service expanding from Ontario, which will charge about $35 per web visit (not $75-90 currently). Please watch for it. We really need to do something to bring an end to highly profit driven medical care and the resulting less humane treatment of our pets. Btw human docs receive ~ $45/visit!

After a cruciate surgery, a dental and a weight management plan he is now a healthy 28lbs and at 12 years old acts more like he is 5. I am extremely disappointed that the staff here is apparently unwilling to take my concerns with any sincerity. They were either unable or unwilling to inform me of potential side effects of the medication and tteatreats they were prescribing my cat, and seemed unconcerned about her well being when experiencing adverse side effects. The staff also behaved in an unprofessional manner when I called to address my concerns. We will be finding another clinic to take our cat for her treatment.

We have been taking our black lab here for five years, and we are very happy with the care and service we have received. We recommend this clinic to our friends and family whenever we are asked to recommend a great vet in the Kamloops area. Our lab was in a bad accident last year, and we had to make the tough decision to amputate one of her hind legs. The staff were great at explaining all of the options and helped us make the best decision for our beloved dog while also understanding our financial constraints. The surgery took longer than expected due to greater than expected splintering of her leg, but we were not charged for the extra time over and above the maximum of the original cost estimate provided prior to the surgery. I took my cat in as he was sneezing profusely. He was examined and I was told he could be put on antibiotics or try Lysine, etc. 1st. I opted for plan B for starters. Not only did it not work but the mucous turned from clear to purulent in a couple of weeks. I actually wiped up a copious amount from a sneeze on a white paper towel & took it into the clinic. But instead of now being given the antibiotics, I was told I had to bring him in again & would be charged another exam etc. I was SOOO Pissed! I walked out. Yes, the Vet I saw was "nice" but nice did not help my sick cat nor my pocket book. I am a senior on a very fixed budget. I love my cat so I took him to some one else. Terrible experience.

We had to call the vet in late last night for an emergency as our cat was in really bad shape. Both the vet and tech were incredibly kind and compassionate. We couldn't be in there with him due to COVID, but they kept us updated and let us know prices of everything before hand. Last night was a difficult and scary night for us, but we knew our little guy was in good hands. Thankfully we were able bring him home today. Thank you Kamloops vet from the bottom of our hearts!

I had a growth removed from my dogs eyelid here , they charged me around $700 and a month later it was back and bigger . All they offered was to remove it again at the same cost , so i went to another vet had it done for $200 less and 3 months later it has not come back , my new vet said they never nearly cut deep enough to remove the root of this growth . So it was $700 down the drain and a second surgery my poor dog had to go through ! Some of the staff were very rude and unhelpful also! there are way better vets in town at better prices..

I have nothing but good things to say about this vet clinic. I had been taking my fur baby to them from her being about 2 years old until she passed at 11yrs old. Even if I had the smallest of question or concern about Libbi, they never hesitated to help. When Libbi came to the end of her life and could not walk, and as I was 5months pregnant, and couldn't carry her (90lb dog) they came to my house and were so thoughtful and kind with the whole experience. One of the saddest days of my life, but they helped in so many ways. I will always recommend this clinic to anyone that asks. ????????

I am really happy with this office. The doctors are caring and have helped us through some tough decisions. The staff are helpful and cheerful. Everyone does their best to be covid safe. We had a situation recently where we couldn't wait weeks for an appointment, and I didn't have to even mention that - the staff member who took my call just recognized the urgency and said "don't worry, I am moving things around to get you guys in today." I am just truly thankful for you all!

I have dealt with the Kamloops Vet Clinic for many years. They have always been helpful, compassionate and understanding. The front end staff, the vets and their assistants are all true animal lovers and it shows. When I last brought my old Golden Retriever in - she has arthritis - and the vet and her assistant saw her outside where she was more comfortable. That's where the caring and going above and beyond is so clear! I doubt I would ever take my pets anywhere else!

My dog broke her femur and the vets office I was sent to had no idea what to do and tried to send my 85-95 lb GSD home with me for the night saying its standard protocol, but when I called Kamloops Vet Office(my normal vet) they said to bring her over as she should not go home... They stayed open later to allow me time to get my girl there too!!! This office is amazing and the staff are so amazing!!

"Celebrating Senior Pet's" was an excellent presentation that Dr. Rebecca Stewart, Dr. Tara Mackey and the two animal health techs. put on Wednesday evening, November 15th. Signs to look out for as your cat or dog ages, prevention and treatment were given. Early treatment can help your animal friend live longer and be comfortable. Touring the clinic area was very interesting...operating rooms, X-ray machine, laser, dental table, pharmacy, and the recovery kennels. Thanks for the interesting tour Tara. Will remember what a collapsed trachea looks like! Small dog owners, use a harness. Star of the night was Hank, Rebecca's chocolate lab. He was a great patient as Dr.Stewart showed us how she conducts an examination on her patients. We listened to his strong heartbeat! Cookies, cake, tea and coffee were very welcomed. A very informative evening. Kamloops Veterinary Clinic is Awesome! We have been clients since 2000.

Our family has gone to the Kamloops Veterinary Clinic for about 8 years now. I've always received excellent service and would never go anywhere else. Both of my pets have had issues. The cat had chronic inflammatory bowl disease plus kidney disease. The dog has had a tumor on her tail and required knee surgery when she blew out her cruciate ligament. I feel like all of the staff have gone above and beyond to deliver excellent care and customer service at every step along the way. I really love them all!

Our beautiful 7 year old black Lab (ROCKY) came to this clinic a little over one week ago because he was in respiratory and cardiac crisis..the staff was exceptional, ....they actually set up the ultrasound so we would bring him in... no waiting.. straight to back room, everything was set up and ready to go. A week an a half later, ...we came back for a follow up and to decrease the anxiety Rocky had with going inside the vet clinic, the lovely Dr. Paula Davies actually came outside to the lovely grassed area with a picnic table and gave us her time to talk calmly ....and thoroughly.. with our dear Rocky by our side on the grass.. ....that meant everything to us and was the best for Rocky.. They even did bloodwork outside for our convenience.. WHO DOES THAT!!! Oh wait, the amazing staff at Kamloops Veterinarian...Dr. Paula Davies is a kind soul.. very knowledgeable and will do the best in her ability to assist you .. Thanks everyone..

They offered to phone me right away if the bill was going to go above the quote. They were extremely through and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend this clinic. They provided quality and compassionate care to me and my pet from start to finish. They did an exceptional job despite the complexities of our current situation and limitations due to social distancing. I still felt extremely supported and cared for.
