Paid $80 for him to listen to my dogs heart and mumbled some words. Literally a 4min conversation cost me $80. What a joke. My dog had a seizure and he couldn’t be bothered to take his temperature, feel if he broke any bones, check his ears, mouth etc. Bad service and a waste of money! The receptionist even gave attitude when I said that wasn’t even a proper exam/consultation. I’ll be taking my dog down south. Rather fly him to somewhere proper

A+ customer service by Dr. Ho, Dr. Pisz and the front line staff at the GSAH. Their care and compassion saved my dog Blaze and he is now making a full recovery. I can not thank all the staff, (unfortunately I do not know their names) for the excellent care and treatment my kid received. They treat everyone like family and we will not hesitate to return. Although my dog does not like Dr. Pisz, I have found that his work is very good. My dog has had thousands of dollars worth of surgeries and all have been completed successfully. Reviews are honestly not the best way to determine a businesses service quality, one size doesn't fit all; especially when it comes to a vet.

Dr. Tom Pisz has been treating my animals for 29 yrs. He has always been there for me in an emergency, even in the middle of the night. He is on call 24/7 and can deal with any type of animal medical emergency. Although the clinic is incredibly busy one needs to remember that up until recently he has been only full time veterinary practice operating in the NWT. Dr. Pisz has always provided a safe shelter and adoption center for unwanted northern animals. I don't know how many times he has taken in rescues that I've picked up and provided care for them out of his pocket until they can find god homes. Unlike some veterinarians that I have death with, Dr. Pisz will never refuse treatment of any animal in need. Keep up the good work folks!

Dr. Pisz and his staff have gone above and beyond for my animals. They've done a fabulous job taking care of them, even when one had a massive medical emergency. I wouldn't bring my dogs anywhere else.

Excellent veterinary service and straightforward advice. Our large female was spayed here when she was already an adult. She had a fast recovery and the resulting scar is very small. Great follow-up and quick responses to all of my questions. We've also recently left our dogs at the Great Slave kennel and will do so again - unlike another YK kennel we used in the past, Great Slave let us bring the dog beds and some toys (everything came back in the same condition), which I think really helped the pups during the separation because, unlike past kennel experiences, they came back without any digestive issues

My family recently brought our dog to the hospital after hours after he was struck by a vehicle. Unfortunately he didn't make it. The doctors, RVTs and staff at the hospital showed empathy, compassion and made a very difficult situation a bit easier to handle. When we picked up our little guys remains, we received a card signed by the entire staff as well as a laminated imprint of his paw. I am truly great full for the service that was provided

My cat has congestive heart failure and requires daily medication to keep his condition under control. I've been a loyal client of the GSAH for years and would get all of my cat's medication from them despite the prohibitive cost of the drugs. Recently my financial situation changed and I was no longer able to afford the prices I was paying. I went to Dr. Pisz hoping that he might be able to assist us by providing me with a prescription that I could use to get the medicine elsewhere at a price I was able to afford. He refused to help, arguing that if he made an exception for one person, everyone would expect him to do this for them and his business would go under. I don't know if he thought I'd plaster the town with flyers proclaiming you can get free drugs from him or what, but I would never do anything to hurt the business of someone who would go the extra mile to help a person in need. Things being as they are, however, you can be damn sure I will tell every single person I meet that this man would let a seriously ill animal suffer and die rather than do anything that might hurt his bottom line. I'm not sure what effect that'll have on his business, but I doubt it will be positive.
