Ive been taking my 14 year old dog to DBVH since we moved to the island in October. I've been to many vets before and I found Dr.Brown to be caring, concise, and informative. She will provide an array of options including homemade treatments depending on your personal preferences which is a nice change from pushy vets trying to sell you products. Also, she was the first vet (after I saw 3 others in Alberta) to provide me with the confidence in putting my senior dog through rectal surgery! Other vets made the procedure sound complicated and risky, they looked at my dog's age and considered her frail. Dr.Brown was the first to say "age is just a number, we look at your dog's ability to recover...ect..". That gave me peace of mind. She was right and my dog went through surgery smoothly and recovered quickly too. Recently my dog has had an ear infection and long term back pain. She even popped my dog's knee back into place. We had no idea it was out. They also recommended kidney support supplements which I think has changed my dog's stained beard to pure white! Dr.Brown and her staff have always been quick to respond to our needs and requests. We are happy we found them! My dog seems like shes years younger already!

When I ran out of prescription dog food, this office kindly checked with my out-of-town vet's office and sold me some from their supply. Very conveniently located behind Country Club mall, right by the 2nd bus stop on Barron's Rd for the northbound #1 and #20 buses.

The vet won't actually come and speak to you in person. Instead, you have a vet tech passing herself off as a vet and parroting the most impractical advice in the most condescending manner possible. I have an 11 month puppy who is 70+ lbs. You don't keep a hunting hound puppy tired by brain games alone. There are too many vets in this town to accept such mediocrity. My dog deserves the best.

The best vet experience I've ever had. Dr. Brown gives you a wealth of information and answers any questions you have extremely thoroughly. The prices are fair and they are not trying to gouge you like other practices. Easy to schedule with and were able to get my cat in quickly in emergencies. This is an upstanding veterinary practice with caring and compassionate staff, can't recommend it enough.

Absolutely love departure bay vet. They really do care about are fur babies. Their prices are lower then other veterinarians, if its a emergency they always do their best to help. They are polite, full of knowledge and are always happy to see you. The only thing I wish is they were open longer.

Dr Brown is simply the best vet I've ever taken my pets to. She is highly professional, highly knowledgeable and quite simply makes your pets welfare her highest priority. I came to Departure Bay after my dog was seriously let down by another vet who mis treated and did not thoroughly investigate my pets infection. This led to months of misery for my dog. She is now happy and the healthiest she's ever been. If you're looking for a vet in town, look no further.
