Bring my dog to this vet for ear infection doesn't even look in ear only swabs. Says in paperwork discharge but doesn't tell me anything. Lies to me over the phone months later!!! The doctor apparently owns the clinic. That being said this is the worst service in 35 years any animal of mine has ever received. A big shout out to kemptville Veterinary clinic For taking great care of my dog and fixing The simple problems that North Gower could not.

I took my friend there with her Cat, and she was pretty sure she wouldn't be leaving with him. Well we walked out an hour later with the cat. The Dr and nurse, and staff, were all amazing. The cat has diabetes, and can be treated with Insulin. The doctor and his nurse were great at explaining and shared some interesting information and reading material, and not a huge chunk of $$. I would highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic and Dr Wicks was very caring, honest and helpful. Thank you.

Receptionists are super friendly and welcoming - offered us coffee or tea as soon as we walked in and let us know we could head straight into the exam room in case we wanted to let our cat roam around a bit. Haven't taken my dog there for years since they tried to charge me $800 to a simple measurement of a leg bone for an operation they intended to charge me $1500 for. Did the mesurement myself and ordered leg braces on the net. Dog was up and running after 3 months and never looked back. Recently, against my recommendation to use them, they charged my daughter for close to $1,000 to diagnose and treat for an ear infection with her dog. When nothing they prescribed worked, I gave her my 12 year old prescription for swimmers ear, after 2 doses, dogs ears are fine. He had been suffering for a couple years, but they raked in the $ and provided no value in the end. If your dog doesn't have a real problem when you take it in, you'll think it does when you leave, and your wallet will be a lot lighter.

We adopted our dog from the Ogdensburg, NY pound. We continued to use the vet in Ogdensburg because they had treated our lab since she was a pup. However, the pandemic caused the bridge to the US to close. We asked our closest friends who they used for their pets. They recommend Carleton Veterinary Services. Unfortunately, Bella had aggressive bone cancer and we had to make the most difficult decision. The staff were professional, but most importantly, they were so very kind. We were able to do it outdoors as a family. We were not rushed. As if that wasn't kind enough, a sympathy card arrived with messages hand written from their whole crew. Also, a card with Bella's paw print... For EACH member of my family that was there. Especially, appreciated because each of my kids had their own. They went above and beyond to provide us comfort during such a difficult time. We are forever grateful. Highly recommended. When we are ready for a new dog, we will return.

This was my first / last visit to this place, I got 10 minutes earlier than my appointment. They said they'd call me in 5 minutes as the vet was at his lunch break. I waited outside to be called in. After 40 minutes, I decided to leave and when we phoned them they said they had moved my appointment to 1 H later, all that, without even letting me know. They came across as quite irresponsible and unprofessional.. A decent reason for not trusting them.

The best clinic I've been to. We've had several issues with a few pets and this clinic is my go to. Friendly and sympathetic, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Lima in particular is fantastic. He doesn't always sugar coat the truth, but I prefer to know realistic diagnosees, so this suits me well. Veterinary fees are expensive and I prefer spending that money at a clinic where I trust the information and care we're given. Some of the issues they have treated for us: - canine dental surgery (cracked tooth) - canine Lyme disease - canine growth removal (twice) - feline dental surgery (tooth removal due to infection) - feline eye removal

Sometimes the waits are unexpected but that is because they are very detail oriented and patient with each pet. Mine is a rescue and each vet he has seen here has been so accommodating and patient. They even sit with him on the floor because he's too terrified to get on the table. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I researched high and low and they are by far the most modestly priced in the Ottawa area and the best with nervous pets.

Great vet clinic! The receptionist Jodi is very helpful on the telephone and super friendly at the clinic. Always comes around to greet my pups. The vet techs are all great (we have see a few and I cant remember their names). Again friendly and always calm, reassuring and helpful. We have dealt with Dr. Wicks for vaccines/yearly checkups and on more urgent matters. Every time he has been great. Gets down on the floor and helps my one nervous pup overcome his anxiety (liver treats help too!) And gets his assessment complete relatively easily. My other dog (a bulldog) has been in a few more times and every time they get to the root of his problem and get us seen as quickly as possible. They also dont over charge or push medications or other costly items. I would not hesitate to recommend this vet clinic to anyone. It's a great place if you have to bring a pet in for any reason.

ETA: We have needed 2 emergency appointments over the last 2 weeks and I feel I should update my review to include those interactions. Both the office staff and vets were extremely accommodating / professional. None of the issues experienced previously manifested themselves and things appear to be back to "normal". I am hopeful the 3 interactions outlined below were simply an anomaly. ++++++++++++++ Sadly, no longer able to recommend them. They have been our exclusive vet (specialists not withstanding) for the last 7.5 years but our last 3 interactions (March, April and today) have been less than stellar. I'm not sure what's changed (ownership? management?) but on our March visit a marked change was noticed. Disorganized reception, extremely busy waiting room, vet running behind schedule, inaccurate info on invoice. All things that had never happened before and to say we were frequent visitors would be a bit of an understatement. Also, lots of new staff. Same thing happened at our April visit. A simple blood test turned into a 45 minute affair (and no, it isn't because we had to wait for results, they called us with those later). Today, we used their online system to make an appointment - we thought it said today but turns out it was 2 weeks from now. Fair enough, likely our screw-up. But, while I was there I did try to make an appointment for our very uncomfortable dog. The "absolute best" they could do was give him an appointment for 2 weeks from today. We've never had to wait more than a few days to see a vet there before. At that point informed the receptionist that if that was the absolute best they could do, we would need to take our dog somewhere else.

Twice I requested the dog's rabies tag # since it wasn't included on their invoice. They did tell me the dog had a rabies shot, but I have no tag.This was 3 weeks ago. They have not answered this request.

Absolutely fabulous! Dr. Bacon is by far the most knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian anywhere. He listens to your concerns and cares about your dog's well-being. Dr. Lima is also following those same practice principles as he takes over the reigns. This clinic cares for animals first and is not trying to pad your bill. They have plenty of people waiting to see them so business is not the issue. This clinic wants to build a rapport with you and care for your animal family like it's their own!! What more could you ask for?

My pup blew out his CCL at the height of a global pandemic. Carleton Vet got him in quickly, completed the surgery and he's in recovery mode now. All done safely with appropriate health protocols. Carlton provided us with a quote so we new exactly what was covered. The actually price quoted was "all inclusive" (surgery, medication, after care, therapy) so there have been zero surprise costs. I didn’t understand what the female vet was saying to me the other day and I was really overwhelmed. Kelly brought me a coffee and spent 20 mins dumbing it down so I could understand. I've been taking both my labs here for years and have always had great, professional and friendly service from the vets, vet techs and staff. One of my dogs is now 12+ years and has had a number of health issues. Dr. Wicks has been so great at taking care of her, and also taking additional time to go through her care with me and making sure he's answered all my questions. You can tell he really cares about your pet's well-being! I drive 30 mins just to go to this clinic and couldn't be happier.

Simply the best clinic in the entire Ottawa region in my opinion. Very caring and professional staff. I got a doberman puppy, and my best friend recommended them as he uses their clinic for his dog. At the first appointment, I literally had over 50 questions as a new puppy owner and their doctor took an hour to answer every single one, and also he gave me additional information and tips I didnt even think off. What impressed me even more was when the doctor was providing his recommendations, he provided the pros and the cons too, which was amazing. I’ve been to a few vets over the years and CARLETON vet services is my favourite by far. They have reasonable prices and don’t try to upsell you like some other places do. You can tell all the staff truly love animals, and I often talk to a vet who’s sitting on the floor with my dog - which makes it a great experience for him instead of a scary one.

I never realized the severe difference of vet service prices before my recent experience. In the city of Ottawa, we received an extremely high estimate for dental surgery on one of my cats. After struggling to figure out how we would financially do this, we took a chance and called Carleton Vet Services. They gave us an estimate over the phone for the exact same procedure, and it was less than half the price! We were willing to drive 15 minutes further from our house to save thousands $$$. Staff were super friendly, and their schedule was very open so we were booked in quickly. Surgery went well, and I'm so grateful we made that phone call. Thank you CVS!
