While it's not the low cost I was hoping for, everyone in the office was very friendly & helpful. I had an appointment & due to a last minute call from my employer I was forced to attempt at getting in early. They made ever accommodation to make that happen. The veterinary assistant was extremely kind, patient, & compassionate, but nothing compared to Dr. Williams. He was attentive & patient with an old man who seemed to only want to babble on & treated my little boy with all the tenderness & care that I could ever hope for. He listened & was eager to calm my fears. I've heard horror stories of other vets taking the patients out of site of their owners for treatment not letting that owner be present while they did their work. This has been a complaint of mine concerning people doctors. The attitude is as if "you really don't have a need to know what's going on. Just shut up & let me do my work." This is most certainly NOT how I was treated today & I have great appreciation for the way they treated both me & my kitty. THANK YOU ALL!

I am looking for a new vet and this one was recommended. I checked and they had seen my dog in 2005. Vet only said he had anemia. Never offered any help or suggestions for treatment. After going to several other vets and spending about $4000, my dog died. At the time, my husband had terminal cancer, so I lost both within a year of each other. I don’t recommend this vet for anything. I’ll keep searching for a vet who really cares.

Dr. Sarah Hawkins is absolutely amazing! Our little Bella has been coming here for months for shots & routine check ups for her flea medication. We just recently got her spayed here and the whole staff was absolutely awesome and answered all of our questions and were very informative of her aftercare. We even brought her back a couple of days later just to check on her stitches because we know she has trouble with her blood clotting, and we called ahead and were told to just stop by when we could. Dr Hawkins came out to the waiting room and checked her stitches personally. We appreciate that they have the same level of care for our little girl that we do. Every time she comes in she is recognized by the receptionist Ms Debbie and all of the techs and they all say how much they love her. We really appreciate that because our Bella was rescued from an abusive home and we just know how much that makes her little heart glow to be loved ❤️

Best Vet I've Ever Been to! I love this place. It's smaller and not in the best part of town, but the people there are the best. Dr. Daryl and Dr Genny are the two best vets I have ever used. I have raised and taken care of 7 dogs in my life, so I have seen my fair share of vets. The reason I am writing this review is a year ago I moved an hour away from the clinic. I took my pug to another vet closer to my new home, and that vet (North Texas veterinary clinic) failed to fix a resistance ear infection for 7 MONTHS. Then they told me there was nothing they could do and suggested I have my pugs ear canal removed and basically make her def. I said screw that and screw you, I took my pug back to Hurst Animal Clinic and within a month the ear infection was gone. Hurst Animal Clinic is simply the best place to take your pets. (And if you live in Fort Worth / Keller) Stay the Hell away from North Texas Veterinary Clinic. The office staff are wonderful, but the actual Vets are incompetent morons.)

Visiting from Florida with my 13 yo pug Pearl. Of course she had a problem ! I was able to get an appointment the next day. Everyone at the office was wonderful. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The doctor and vet tech were awesome. Very professional and thorough but also friendly and I felt comfortable right away. The doctor did a good exam and answered all my questions. Fortunately nothing serious was found and I left the office feeling reassured about my Pearl. I can sincerely say that I have no hesitation recommending this practice for your beloved pet. Can't thank them enough.

I love love love the veterinarians and staff at this clinic! They saved my standard poodle 6 years ago (when my previous vet in the Dallas area couldn't figure out what was wrong with him...ended up being Addison's disease) and had went from 70+ lbs to 45 lbs. Everyone is super friendly and they always love on our dogs and don't seem to have lost their passion for caring for animals (like we had experienced with the couple of clinics we used in the past)!

Vet said my dog didn't need stitches and that the wounds weren't that bad. Went five days later cause my dog started dying because an infection of his wounds spread and he died. The Male vets who over looked him the 2nd visit were very nice though.

Been a client for almost 2 years and always noticed the friendly staff. What was most impressive was how well they handled an emergency situation when my dog was attacked by another dog this week. They came out to my car to bring my dog in to be evaluated, were calm and updated me frequently. The front office staff even helped me clean off my hand since I got bit in the incident as well. GROOMING ONLY REVIEW- We just moved to the area and we brought in our nearly 4 year old lab/spaniel mix for grooming. After some minor confusion at the front, my wife was able to get him checked in and was on her way. They called later that day to let her know that he was ready for pickup but they had an incident. Apparently he kicked his leg while being groomed and they cut one of his paws. They assured her it was fine and it wasn't bleeding but after we got him, we noticed it was a pretty good size cut in one of his pads that was still very much bleeding (they didnt wrap it and he was licking it) and they had also cut a patch of skin on his stomach. Hopefully it was just a fluke thing there but we haven't had those issues before and can't say we will be going back.

My elderly dachshund was having a problem with diarrhea for a couple of days, then one night (a Thursday) overnight it was really bad. I called Friday AM but they had no appointments available. They offered if I could drop him off in the next hour, they could look at him in between appointments. I left him there most of they day while they examined him. They diagnosed his problem and sent him home with meds and has been much better since! I appreciate so much that they were able to fit him in and help him!

Best vet in DFW. We have been going here for a little over a year now and they are just as great as they were the first day. We see them more often than we'd like but they have become like family to us. They are so compassionate and understanding when you're going through a hard time with your fur baby and are quick to help in any way they can. I am so grateful that I have a great vet for my fur babies. One leg was hurt when I got home from work. It did not look broke so I watched him for several days but he was still not putting much weight on it. So I took him in and it was his fibula. They told me wait 2 weeks then see where he is and gave me meds for pain. If he don't get better then we are looking at surgery to correct it. It did not cost a lot to get comfort.

Been taking the dogs here for a few years for vet care and boarding. Pretty good place and the staff is friendly. I have two challenges which occurred recently. Brought my 2 year old Mastiff in, young vet said he would probably need surgery to the tune of $4k or something like that. Dog was fine, did not need surgery. Dropped the dogs off this week for a one night stay. We got there the next day 24 minutes after their deadline. Of course they did not cut us a break and charged the extra day. As much as they have been boarded, I guess I assumed we would be cut slack for being 24 minutes past. Oh well, lesson learned.

My grandparents have used Hurst Animal clinic for their past THREE dogs.. Yes three dogs.. who all lived to be 18 years old! My parents also used Hurst Animal Clinic until this past November when we had to allow our 17 year old baby girl to cross the rainbow bridge. The way they took care of my grandparents & parents every time they had to say the hardest goodbye was the first sign of this is where I need to be taking my own babies! I took one of my cats here yesterday and I was VERY pleased. They didn’t let me waste any money on unnecessary tests or medications and kept my cost as low as possible. As a struggling college student.. this is more helpful than people realize! I will be taking ALL of my pets here from now on and will be referring Hurst Animal Clinic from here on out. Have nothing but praise to sing over this veterinary office! The staff has treated our pet and family with the utmost kindness and respect. They diagnosed our old sweet boxer girl with a terminal illness, and took the time to discuss our options. We opted to just keep her comfortable and celebrate her life as much as possible in her final months. They explained what to expect as she neared the end of her life and were very compassionate on her last visit. They are very affordable and never pushed unnecessary treatment on us or pressured/guilted us into prolonging our dogs life when when it wouldn’t give her a better quality of life. When we decide we are ready to own another dog, we will certainly use Hurst Animal Clinic again for our choice of vet!

I started going to Hurst Animal Clinic in 2003 when we got our first rescue. All 6 of our dogs over the past 17 years have gone here. When it was time to "let them go", they were compassionate and kind. Especially with Pippi, who I had to put down when my husband was out of town. I called him and he stayed on the phone with me the whole time. It's hardest when you have to make that decision, but the staff and Doctor's at Hurst are the BEST!!! I will say the staff was always nice but just was not happy with overall care I received for my dog. My dog had gastrointestinal problems and infection, was seen by a different doctor every time I came in (3 times). I called for a refill as the vet told me I could have one at the last visit if it continued and they made me come in as that vet was not in that day. I waited 1.5hrs on a saturday past their close time for them to tell me they texted the dr and she could refill the med I needed and didn’t even get seen after all of that. I brought him in again bc the gastro. issues continued; this dr said he suspects my dog has a splenic mass after feeling and scheduled me for an ultrasound 2 weeks out. If that was the case waiting that long is not good, could rupture and be fatal among other issues. Took him to the vet i had previously gone to (that is further away) and turns out he has IBD and is now on medication and Special diet and is doing great. Oh and he didn’t have a tumor, they got him in for ultrasound that day :) I understand that a big part of vet med is ruling out possible diagnoses, just wanted more thorough care for my dog. But I appreciate the time anyway.

Great place. Very clean. I always see Dr. Hawkins. She is smart and personable. Everyone at the clinic is very compassionate. When I had to put my dog down they helped me with this emotional decision and followed up with a hand written condolences card in the mail. I was going to another vet clinic for my dogs from their birth for about 12 years. One of my dogs (a chihuahua) come down with 4th stage congestive heart failure which the doctor found with her stethoscope and a $50 doctor visit. My mother said that was impossible and told me to let her vet (HAC) look at my dog and Dr. Darryl determined the same thing, probably charging more to do so. One good thing is after cardio and all, Dr. Darryl did save my dog's life and my dog is on heart medication for the rest of his life. So, I pulled my 2 dogs from the original clinic and started to take them to Hurst Animal Clinic. After about 8 months and MULTIPLE rounds of blood tests, teeth cleaning on my other dog, $100+ per month prescription drugs, I took my 2 dogs in for their annual vaccinations there. At my old clinic, the SAME exact vaccinations each and every year, even last year was $59 for each dog per my receipts, but was $117 per dog at Hurst Animal Clinic. I was waiting out in my car for hour and a half for their shots, and as multiple other customers with their pets were getting there after me and leaving before me, I contacted the clinic, to see what the holdup was. Finally, after the tech came out with my dogs and the preliminary bill, all I said was I had never paid that much for an annual before, but I paid it, no hesitation. I never did speak to Dr. Darryl about the bill, but apparently the tech went and told Dr. Darryl that I said he was all about the money, which I never said or even implied, and instead of contacting me, Dr. Darryl contacted my mother, repeating what the tech told him and to tell her he did not want my business and banned me from his clinic. Needless to say, I have gone back to my old clinic where I started and EVERYTHING, doctor visits, blood work is less costly, and the prescriptions refilled for life of the dogs for the SAME medications many of which are less than half the price per item.

Long, long story short, Dr. Daryl is a nice guy who I think really cares for the animals but most of the staff here could care less about you. I felt like they saw my dogs as numbers and picked my pocket for any charge they could get. I never felt welcome, most of the staff seem put off by us being there. I felt like they could care less if I came back. One of my dogs is very sick and I'm on edge enough with trying to help him, but to add the stress of a vet staff who are distant and have a listless demeanor does not help me while trying to treat my dog. Don't get me wrong, we've been back with one of our other animals and we've really tried to give this place a chance. But we kept feeling the same way every time. I felt very much like I was just a wallet walking through the door.

They have a nice size waiting area, though the waiting time is not that long. You get most results on the spot since they have their own lab. The vet took a look at my cat and said she needed anesthesia for an X-ray to see what was wrong. He didn’t give me any idea what he thought was wrong or what he would do if certain things were found. He was walking out the door when I was like, what do you think it is? And he turned back to say it could be this or that, and if it’s this she will need that… The estimate was $427. I called another place and I was like, yeah, my cat is limping and this clinic wants $400 and they don’t even have a good idea of what it is… the lady at the second clinic was like, “Bring her here, honey, my vet has been doing this for fifty years, he will get your kitty fixed up. We don’t even have an X-ray machine.” I took her and it was the cost of an office visit and pain meds ($80). He said she had a sprain and it would take 3-6 weeks to heal, wasn’t broken. He said a lot of vets these days are afraid to diagnose without running a bunch of tests, and if you just watch the animal and listen to what the owner is saying, it’s easy to see what is wrong. He was great. His office was also brighter cleaner and more cutely decorated, for what it’s worth.

Our corgi Charlie has had allergy and skin issues his entire life, and out of all the vets we’ve visited this was the only one to prescribe some that helped. It’s really easy to make appointments and they don’t overload you with a list of hundreds of dollars worth of pills and procedures. They give you what you need and work with what you can afford which I really appreciated. All the vets and nurses were really nice and helpful. The only reason I had to stop going here was because we moved 40mins away. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

i don’t usually leave reviews but i feel this place deserves one. my dog was up since 4 am screaming in pain. we called around & left voicemails to different vets around us. this was the only vet that called us back & was able to get us in as soon as they opened. everybody from the front staff to the back was so welcoming & took the time to listen to our concerns. when it comes to prices, they were very reasonable. i will definitely be bringing my other dogs here in the future & will be recommending to friends/ family!
