Very pleased..... My dog had an ear infection and we were looking for a new vet. Called Swan Creek and they fit us in the next day. It was explained to me on the phone at the time I made the appointment what steps would be taken from pulling on the parking lot to completion of the appointment. The curbside treatment was wonderful...my Veterinary Technician was awesome with handling my dog. I waited in my truck and was called by Dr. O'Connor. She explained my dog's results and was very patient in answering ALL my questions. Options were given to me for various treatments and/or medications for each of the conditions we discussed and not forced upon me. Very pleased with Dr. O'Connor. The Veterinary Technician brought my dog out to my truck - he showed no signs of distress which was great. I was then called for payment for the visit- a little business-like/to the point at first, but then again, it's the money collecting part. By the end of that call we were laughing, and all was good. Highly recommend!

Even with COVID happening and a large amount of customers waiting on a Saturday. They hustled and treated everyone with a smile. The vet called me and gave me a run down on what she did and how my cat was doing. I asked them to clip her nails they did a very nice job of it. The wait time from the time I called that I was there to the time they came and git my cat was about 30 minutes given the amount of people in the parking lot that seemed very reasonable. Enjoyed our last visit Dec 13, 2021. They have a great COVID protocol process: Text process to phone, wait in car for your turn, technicians came out and provide different options for visit. Great process and great communication. The wait time was no longer then 15 minutes and was done with appt within 30 minutes of arrival. Would recommend this place to others.

We have found a veterinary for our puppy! We were able to obtain an appointment for vaccines at Swann Creek Veterinary rather quickly. We were greeted timely. They welcomed our Terrier/Pit Bull with open arms asking questions about his well-being. They discussed the recommended vaccines along with the possible side effects and the steps to take to comfort our puppy if he experienced any of them. We received a folder with brochures about the vaccines as well as other helpful information regarding available services. Overall, I was very pleased with our visit at Swann Creek.

MISERABLE. I had a an appointment today at 9:40am. We figured we'd get a early appointment to avoid waiting. Not so. I had the displeasure of waiting 40minutes PAST my appointment time before I called and told them I was leaving. (38min, really. I called and told them I'd be 3-4min late due to an accident - "not a problem", Ricki said.) Now, I don't go often as it's usually my wife, but the last three times I've been here, I've had the displeasure of waiting between twenty minutes to an hour before being seen. This is a common occurrence, for me. I don't know(and really don't care) what the issue is, but it's not COVID related anymore. If you can't take appointments and STICK TO THE TIMES, you need to extend appointment times, Hire MORE people, or set expectations on the phone when you talk to people. You clearly don't respect people's time, or schedules. An appointment for a shot should NOT take this long. This isn't the first time we've had issues. I'm not sure if it's -us- that has the problem or what, but we're nothing but pleasant when we arrive or deal with this branch. But every dang time, just as the sun rises, we get to wait exorbitant amounts of time. Pre-Covid, they were "alright", which is why you get 2 stars. I think we're going to consider a competitor; This is not how you run a business. To the person responding - You need to bring this to the attention of the actual owner of the business. I'm CERTAIN I'm not the only person with this issue.

I've been bringing my pets to Swan Creek since they opened this location. I, as most people I'm sure had their favorite I requested every visit, Dr. Hopkins. When he retired I was very upset but my cats Lacey Mae, Fat Louie, Layla Belle, and now our dog Stella see Dr. Bodycott and we LOVE her!! Just like Dr. Hopkins she is very soft spoken, patient, and thorough. I love when you visit your vet and you don't have to explain or remind them every time the issues or concerns you may have. Dr. Hopkins would talk to my grandmother and I about her vegetable gardens & even ask how she was doing as she aged, even after she passed he would talk to me about her. He is the most compassionate person, and always made it a pleasurable experience no matter the circumstances of your visit. Everyone at Swan Creek are so helpful, and nice. If you are looking for a vet that treats you and your pets like family, I very highly recommend Swan Creek for all your pet care needs.

Hello, I would like to start off with they were great with my adult cat to get him neutered and it was a good experience, however, when I recently came back with a kitten I had just gotten from a farm and was making sure she was healthy so I came in with her and first thing, the doctor, Which I’m not sure which one it was I have to check the paperwork but I hadn’t seen her before; she was worried about her bladder so said I think we should do an X-ray. So I said ok, thinking well I guess it shouldn’t be too much for this visit since she didn’t go over pricing with me. Then came back didn’t give detailed results just told me her bladder was big... which we already knew. Then said she needs a dewormer, which I’m fine with, then antibiotics, and they came back giving her food from the X-ray and said do you want some to take home, so I said sure, also assuming that they were “giving” it to me. This whole time the doctor keeps explaining to me she rescues kittens and how she would take my cat off my hands, not once but at least twice and asked if I wanted to keep her. I traveled 2 hours there and back to get this kitten and I brought her to you because i was concerned, and I get a doctor who is questioning whether I can handle taking care of her? So, you know after assuring her that yes, I do want her, I went to pay and it was $175. For a sick visit for a kitten that’s about 5 or 6 weeks. They charged me for the food, one of the cans that was opened that they did without asking me. No one discussed any of the fees prior and I was shocked and it took a while for me to really understand what just happened. This was absolutely absurd. I wish I could ask for a refund and I wish I could go back and dispute it. What if I didn’t have that amount? And couldn’t pay!? It was definitely a hurt to my wallet, but I did it. It was pretty crazy that the doctor would act this way and never discuss payment before administering treatment in any way. And charge me for the food that they insinuated was going to be given to us. So I think my cats and I will be finding a new clinic.

This was our first visit to this clinic. Our dog had to have stitches removed after a dog fight. In the past we have been criticized for not taking our animals for check ups or vaccines annually. This place doesn't treat you that way. They treat you like everyone else. My dog was terrified and tried to bite on numerous occasions, but they still treated her as if she was the sweetest thing. This is my sweet girl Princess Peony. She is a rescue and has had a hard go at life. Her skin hasn’t been very well for a while now and I took her to a different vet and they wanted me to get rid of her or put her down . Which broke my heart and discouraged me from wanting to go to another vet . Well I called around asking if anyone does payment plans or could work with me or anything because my sweet girl just wasn’t doing any good. I called at least 20 vets and they all got smart with me and hung up except for Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic, they cared from the start asked what was going on and worked with me to help her . When I took her they all were kind and helpful. They got her on a treatment plan and so far she seems to be doing better . I would recommend this Veterinarian office to anyone. The compassion & support they offer the clientele is just off the charts amazing I’m never going anywhere else for my babygirl .

The veterinary services that we have received for our dog and kitten have been good. The vet seems well informed and is very helpful and knowledgeable about our pets needs. Appointments are pretty easy to get when needed. However, the actual wait time for a scheduled appointment takes very long. All of our last 4 appointments took atleast a half an hour - hour to be seen WITH a scheduled appointment. This is my only negative feedback. Otherwise we were really happy with their services.

My cat was diagnosed with ringworm. They immediately put him on Itraconazole KNOWING he had kidney disease. Not only did they prescribe a medicine to my cat that clearly states not to be taken if liver or kidney problems exist, they gave him DOUBLE the dose of a full sized cat. Had I kept going, this would have KILLED my baby! I even called them to DOUBLE CHECK the prescription was indeed how I was reading it and re-iterated what was already on his chart about the precautions. I was told - give it to him as prescribed but stop if he vomits more than he has been. Good thing I trusted my gut on this one and have since taken him to Basin Run in Colora where they checked him out but said to cease the medicine completely and immediately - just to quarantine him until they could get results back and him scheduled. They ultimately gave him a lime sulfur dip (he's in for a second and final one right now). He IMMEDIATELY looked better after just the first bath. Do not trust these folks. I work on computers for a living but everything about how they treated my baby just seemed so wrong. I'm glad I verbally asked one vet, and physically saw another to confirm my gut feeling. Also, the waiting room is awkward at Swan Creek.

Due to covid the Clinic had certain measures in place to mitigate the spread of the virus. Once you arrive you text a number and then a vet comes out to retrieve your animal, while you wait outside. I can't speak on the service because clearly I wasn't there, but based off how my animal recovered nearly the next couple of days, I'll have to say the clinic done a great job. The doctor explained everything over the phone very well. They accept several different types of animal insurance as well. #Ghost

My experience within the clinic was awesome. I was worried since my 7 month kitten had a cloudy eye randomly on a Sunday when all vets we’re closed and since it was last minute my husband was out of town for work so I had to take a cab Monday morning to get her seen. I was able to call and get an appointment 3 hours later and it was our first visit since my last vet experience at another location was horrific I was relieved at the service I received at Swan Creek. Even though the state is opening back up the visit was in person but you had to wait curbside to gain access into the clinic. Again my husband was out of town so I didn’t have the car to go so I had to take a cab with my kitten and wait outside on a summer day for close to an hour. Water was offered but I do wish they would’ve offered to take in my pet until a room was available but she was fine thankfully. Multiple options were done to figure out the issue with my cat and pricing was discussed for prescriptions which I appreciated. Brittney was awesome and made me feel comfortable with my cat in her care. Awesome first visit. Thanks!

I recommend Swan creek very highly. We took our senior kitty in when his health seemed to be failing, nervous about what they might find and how he would be treated. Not every vet is great with cats and we have had some traumatic experiences elsewhere. Everyone was lovely and treated him gently and with kindness. He was diagnosed with diabetes and is now doing great on insulin. We are hugely grateful that we get another holiday with our old boy and that we found a clinic that we can trust to care for him.

December 2020: My dog suddenly got very sick on a weekend. I called around to pretty much every vet in the county, trying to get him an emergency appr. I was about to give in and take him to the after-hours emergency vet hospital, but called Swan Creek Vet as my last try. They fit him in, last-minute, on a Saturday morning! They took many anti-COVID precautions, to keep the staff and pet owners safe. They gave me the meds for my dog, and even put together single-doses of liquid medication, (my dog won't take pills EVER, FOR ANY REASON), for us to be able to give the meds with ease. They explained everything, told us that he'll likely need a short procedure soon, and gave us an up-front, itemized list of procedure/cost estimates. And for the last-min, weekend appt, exam, and 2 different medications, they charged less than $100!!! I was so pleased with the way that they handled everything, that I am thinking about switching them to be my main vet. I would highly recommend them. P.S. My dog has been on the meds for 4 days, now, and is already happy, eating, sleeping, and acting like himself. So they seem to have gotten the diagnosis and method of treatment 100% correct. His abscess is almost gone. Thank you, Swan Creek Vet! March 2021: *Update: My dog had to have an oral procedure, (including several teeth removed), following a severe chronic infection. Swan Creek was so great about it all, providing an estimate beforehand of the projected cost, care, surgery, tests, treatment, etc. They also answered all of our questions, and gave us as many options as possible-making sure that we were informed and prepared, so that we could make the best choices possible. The surgery was done quickly and well, and they kept him around for a few hours before letting him come home-just to keep an eye on him. They went over the care instructions with us, and had him come in a few days later to check on him. In fact, he healed quicker and more cleanly than even they'd expected! August 2021: *Update: I have officially made Swan Creek Vet my dog's primary care vet clinic, transferring from another vet that I wasn't as happy with. They have performed an oral procedure on him, taken care of him when he caught Kennel Cough from my sister's new puppy, (adopted from a shelter), and during the last visit to them, they even caught a brand-new heart murmur that he'd developed. Luckily they gave him a check-up before prescribing him the medication for the Kennel Cough--if they hadn't checked his heart and changed which meds to prescribe in accordance with the new diagnosis of the heart murmur, their original choice of meds may have harmed him. So not only did they do their due diligence prior to actually giving me the meds to take home for him, but they stayed in the appt for extra time, telling me what it meant, the emergency signs & symptoms to be on guard for in case he suddenly gets worse, a recommendation of which vet cardiologists to see, what I could expect at the cardiologist appt, and several of the possible outcomes of the visit/heart work-up during the appt with the vet cardiologist. Everything that I've seen, heard, and experienced here at Swan Creek have made me feel comfortable with them as a clinic. They obviously love dogs, they are very friendly and wonderful about keeping the 'pet parents' informed and give professional opinions while also recognizing that people are under different financial, time, and energy constraints. They have never done anything to lessen my high opinion of them, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet that is friendly, helpful, and respectful of both their animal patients & 'their humans'. In fact, I've already convinced some of my family members and a couple of friends to bring their pets here, as well. So far, I've heard only good things & a high opinion from all of them concerning Swan Creek Veterinary Clinic.

My wife and I had just moved into the area with our two dogs. On a walk, one became injured, so I called Swan Creek Clinic to try to get him in. We had not yet had the opportunity to establish care with any veterinary service, and I was concerned about getting an examination. Despite their full schedule on that day, they found time to examine him and to provide care (which actually occurred after normal hours). I couldn’t be happier with the support Swan Creek provided. On another note, I was shocked at how low the bill was for the care received . Based upon the rates at our prior residence I expected about 3x what Swan Creek actually charged. I shall recommend you to anyone in the area who is looking to establish veterinary care. I just couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you so much!

HEARTLESS, inhuman staff and doctors, worried about the bottom dollar instead of emotions and compassion. We took our family cat of 16 yrs there and had an appointment to be euthanized... we arrived early and were made to wait in the open waiting room, they called multiple people before us, even ones that were there after us. Our cat passed away while we were waiting to see the Doctor, and then when it was time we were called back, and they made us pay prior to the procedure and despite the fact the our cat passed away in the waiting, they still went ahead with the injections. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone even to someone that has pet ants... i would recommend Edgewood Vet Clinic or Creswell... better staff.

I have a pug.. She had an eye injury and 1st thing they wanted to do is eye removal.. Ive had pugs for many years and insisted on medication first.. Which worked.. Some basic services are very expensive.. Vets are caring but i didnt like how they immediately went to the surgery option.. Voice your opinion ask questions for treatment options.. You know your pet best..

i have taken my cats to this vet for my whole life, as a kid my mom took them and I continued to. one of my cats started showing health problems several years ago and we spent thousands of dollars at this vet to get her treatment, but it was never solved. last night she went to the er vet and the news was not good. turns out very simple tests could have been done to help her. my cat’s prognosis doesn’t look good and i may lose her in the next few days because of the incompitence of the vets at this place. i will never bring another animal to this hell hole. i have cried in front of these vets begging for their help, i would do anything for my cats. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS. THEY WANT TO LINE THEIR POCKETS. if you love your pets, take them somewhere else.

I don't feel that when you arrive for your appt. that you have to wait for 10 to 15mins.,to come and get you from the car, i understand that there might have been a emergency, but someone could inform the client. Also I felt that the doctor was in a rush. The doctor knew that she was seeing two dogs and it was like 1,2,3 your done. The doctor did look over both of them,but I feel like she look at one more then the other. The one she needed to look really close at said oh,if you decide to have the lumps remove we"ll,check to see if there are any other lumps that need to be removed and if so we will remove them.,she was just in a hurry(in my opinion)/(lunch time). Thankyou.

Vacation Fun time

Bentley our 8 month old puppy went to Best Friends Fur ever in Joppa from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm, just for him to socialize with other puppies and play outside. Instead he was left on cold concrete in other dogs pee on Monday 6/21. No video could be produced otherwise. I know for a fact he got sick from there, tail was all wet with pea. By Wed night he developed a very loud, awful cough, sounded like something in his throat, friend told me it was kennel cough. I called Swan Creek Thursday morning and they were so kind, concerned, willing to help and were able to fit him in to be seen that day. He is on antibiotics and they gave him some before we picked him up. I am very grateful to the whole staff for taking care of our loveable fur baby, caring enough to fit him in was a big relief. It really means a lot!! Keep up the good work! ????

Staff issues: An appointment at 2:15 in the afternoon for a sick animal equals taking off of work. Sitting in the lobby for on hour after your appointment is unacceptable. There was no explanation given. People 4 deep to check out. Animals and people standing room only. I am well aware that emergencies happen and unexpected issues arise. However, your staff could advise those that are waiting that they are occurring instead of just leaving you sitting. Vet issues: As a grown adult with over 26 years of pet ownership of numerous kinds of animals as well as human medical training under my belt I do not need to be spoken to about my pet as if I am an idiot. The condescending voice and tone inflection used by Dr. Bodycott is unacceptable. If I am unable to find another vet to transfer to then I will make sure that she does not see my pets again.

We have taken our pit terrier, Ned here a few times and we have always left knowing he has received the greatest care. It's so obvious and without question that Dr. Hubbard truly loves and cares for all animals. The staff here is very friendly and will give your pet all kinds of love. Ned was scared and confused each time going in, and did not want to leave by the time we were done. He loves all the attention and love he always gets from the entire staff. They go above and beyond to make sure your pet is comfortable and healthy and happy. I will not take Ned anywhere else.
