At present the firm gets a score of 4.4 out of 5 and this rating is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is positive, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are satisfied with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Veterinarian is classified in the category of Emergency veterinarian service.
Good animal hospital, open 24/7
Held me as we put my cat down. Gave me all the time in the world
I truly appreciate the level of professional care and honesty that you provided to us. I would strongly recommend your hospital.
Thankfully I made the trip to Riverview with my best friend ???? Top notch veterinary clinic ! You were able to confirm that a previous surgery elsewhere failed . Thankyou to Dr.Arsenault and all the staff. It was a long recovery, but so worth it ❤️
I have only had great experiences at this hospital! Staff very friendly and helpful, good quality of care, nice facility. Most recently I had a puzzling case with my cat and Dr. MacLeod could not have been nicer and listened carefully to my whole long story of symptoms. I felt heard and was given good advice and options for treatment.
great staff and very caring.
Fast and very professional.
Welcoming and caring!
Called Riverview Animal Hospital as the "only hospital in NB that has Radiation Iodine treatments for cats with hyperthyroidism" (according to their own online advertising). Our beloved 11 year old Snowshoe Siamese, Charley because of her Charlie Chaplin moustache, had already been conformed by our vet thru blood tests with having hyperthyroidism and was supposed to begin medication on Monday. However, by Saturday night she was wasting away with a heart rate of more than 240 beats per minute (again conformed by the vet) and wasn't able to eat, drink or even stand and wasn't going to make it to Monday. The only emergency treatment recommended was radiation iodine. Called Riverview AH only to be told that their on-call vet (the only vet who can administer this treatment) would want to keep her for 4 days before they would treat her, run the same blood tests already done and confirmed by our vet and would "try to make her comfortable", before they could possibly administer emergency treatment by Wednesday. So if our Charley could survive with no food or water and a 240 BPM for 96 hours then they might be able to treat her. Also one of the first things they started to point out was that there would be a $63 consultation fee plus....blah, blah, blah. Money is far from an issue, and while we are trying to beg for help for a family pet we care deeply for, a very crass and inappropriate subject to bring up. So, the only supposed emergency animal hospital in the province with the capability of treating/saving our cat refuses to do the one thing that would possibly save her, according to International Pet Care and our vet "A single injection of radioactive iodine is curative in around 95 per cent of all hyperthyroid cats". But since Riverview AH will not do so, we get to watch our sweet cat waste away at home, or be euthanized to end her suffering. Thank you Riverview AH for making a very hard situation worse, in knowing that it doesn't have to happen but will. You should have your license pulled!!! The only reason you get a single star rating is zero isn't an option.
Great staff members. Clean reception area and facilities. They even offer free coffee and tea.
Great service but the procedures and food are pretty expensive.
Our only experience with this place was when we had to take our cat in to put him down. The whole procedure, environment and staff really were top-notch, friendly and showed real concern. I would definitely go here again next time around.
So helpful and friendly, and call me at home to see how my day is doing, VERY pleased:)
I have been dealing with The Riverview Animal Hospital for longer than 25 years. They have seen and cared for all my German Shepherds and their puppies in the years that I was a breeder. Now my cat Luna and Greyhounds, Zazu & Amber are happy to see the staff anytime, especially when it's just for a drop in visit with no needles, lol.. Dr. Sara Moskovits especially, has always been there for us as has Dr Francis Arseneault.
I received direct care for my dog when he needed surgery, l recommend this animal hospital
Thanks from diesel! :)
I cannot find the words to adequately say how much I love this veterinary hospital. The veterinarians (Dr. Dwan, Dr. Moskovitz and all the others), technicians, reception staff and housekeeping staff are all top notch. My 13 year old American Eskimo, Sophie, had a dental infection and needed urgent dental surgery. I felt completely at ease with the surgical team at Riverview Animal Hospital performing a complicated dental procedure on my beloved Sophie. As a registered nurse who has worked in intensive care units for most of my career, my critique of this veterinary hospital was based on the same standards I hold to hospitals for humans. They use the same monitoring (heart, blood pressure, oxygen, temperature) as we use for human beings and the same post operative warming devices we use in the ICU for human beings. My Sophie pulled through without a glitch. My dogs love going to this veterinary hospital, and while I waited for my Sophie, I saw that every single dog seemed to be very happy and eager to be there. Not one dog resisted going into the hospital, which is very telling on how the animals are treated there. The staff are extremely kind and gentle with the animals who attend the hospital. I will continue to bring my beloved pets to this hospital for all their veterinary needs (even though it’s a 2.5 hour drive each way). Thank you.
They are so nice there and aren't pushy about unnecessary proceedures. That's important to me.
They are amazing and will treat your fur babies likes their own children!
Great place for great quality foods and a friendly environment! Would recommend to friends and family.
Great staff
Amazing. The fact that they are open 24hrs is a god send when you’re panicking about your baby. The vet was so nice, knowledgeable and compassionate, my cat was in very good hands. The vet techs were also super friendly and welcoming when I walked thru the door. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough!
Super friendly staff. I think my cat enjoys going to the vet
Wonderful, knowledgeable and caring staff. They go above and beyond in caring for your pets.
Excellent service
Great service. They really care about the animals
My girl was lost for 34 days, when I caught her I ran to this place. They took us in immediately and shes been given the OK and doesnt need further medication ????????
I feel this place isn't getting its dues in terms of reviews. Front staff is so kind, Vet techs are gentle and Dr. O'Reilly is amazing and I couldn't have been more lucky. In a place that treats as many animals as they do, you have to expect some bad reviews/experiences. Yes, I do feel that I had a better experience with some over others. It's worth it to ask for someone else if you aren't compatible with the vet you got because with all the people that work there, someone will understand you. If you have a bad experience/feeling, say something then (just try to be kind) and they will help you. I promise. In the time I was there, I don't think they ever had a peaceful moment to breathe. I spent the week on edge thinking my dog may never come home but here she is, doing really well since we brought her home today and I know it is because of the care my dog got here. Thanks to the extensive testing and efforts, issues were found before they became problems while we worked towards resolving the problem that brought us there. The cost is reflective of the care you recieve here, the treatments they offer, and the experience of the vets/staff. It was worth every single penny.
Great staff!!! Thanks for taking in the strays or lost animals when the spca is closed.
Unnecessary costs, failed to set my dogs broken leg right, leading to amputation, $1000 extra on top of the price of $1400, and they never set the leg right in the first place, total price $ 3000.00, now way, never go there again
Very supportive staff in difficult times. Costly as most vets are. Unparalleled availability/hours.
Staff professional and kind
Charged $270 for a checkup and a blood test. Just horrific. Go elsewhere.
After my cat, Izzy, was attacked by my own greyhound, she had serious wounds and needed immediate veterinary attention. The team at Riverview AH sprang into action and immediately provided Izzy with pain medication as well as a careful inspection of her wounds. She stayed overnight and had sutures to close the most serious wounds. Unfortunately, she had a drug resistant bacterial infection set in, and much of the skin around the wounds began to rapidly deteriorate and die, such that the sutures simply had nothing to hold onto. The Riverview team were able to send a sample to the vet college to determine the best antibiotic to treat the condition. Unfortunately, the infection was fast moving and she lost a lot of skin tissue in a short time, so the wound could not be sutured closed again. Initially the Riverview team chose to do a tie-over bandage, which was great for a period of time, but then the ties began to cause discomfort for Izzy. Following that, based on the team's recommendation, I began doing daily saline bandage changes. The Riverview team helpfully guided me through everything I needed to do to help Izzy heal. After a couple of training sessions, I was able to do the home care needed. We had to use sterile saline on newborn baby diaper pads to keep the wound area constantly moist. We also used honey to speed healing. Izzy was continuing on her course of antibiotics. I did the bandage changes twice daily to keep the wound clean and treated. They honey and saline bandages worked much more quickly than expected and Izzy's wounds healed in record time, shrinking daily. Her wound area went from an open patch about 4 x 5 inches to a patch about 2 x 2 inches in a matter of weeks. The patch closed over in time and she is now completely fine. The Riverview team of Drs. Moskovits, Pulman and Roussel, and their support staff, gave me the information and training I needed to be a part of Izzy's recovery. Being a pet care giver means being there through thick and thin, and even though treating wounds at home can be disturbing, it is tremendously rewarding to see how pets can bounce back and recover. I would never hesitate to recommend Riverview AH.
Professional but very expensive
Called to get information about my cat, was turned away abruptly and disregarded hastily. Had to call another Vet to get creditable help. With knowledge and understanding of triage of animals, my cats current condition that it warranted a call. Emergency only calls $150 to sit and wait for a vet. Not counting the cost of the actual visit. Unable to book any appointments not until the following Friday. Crazy this business is providing such horrible service and request so much money. Where is the compassion and empathy, decision was made to move all services to a I hope to be a more competent location. So sad that this business treats their long standing clients as such. Spoke highly and recommended this location for others, I'll be sure not to do that anymore.
Thank you! Great service. Very Caring and took care of Bronson right away.
I had found a kitten in my hometoen going to Moncton to pick up my son from airport...this lil thing panting and grasping for air i gave it milk and pedialyte to help it nothing was open I spoke to one "vet" who didn't help much then I got to moncton and finally Riverview took it..not sure if its a boy or girl but I hope it made it ..alot of people wondering since I had posted on fb begging for help from anyone..if anyone can help me with this..nancy rousselle on fb ..thank u for not hesitating to help that poor animal xox
Vet was very pushy and rude would not listen to anything I said. And didint seem to know what she was talking about and told me the complete opposite of three other vets. Was not very impressed.
I absolutely love this place. You make an appointment, but they also do a quick triage to make sure your animal is okay enough to wait (and if it's a very serious emergency requiring immediate attention, they will make sure it gets dealt with). While we were there waiting for our appointment and then waiting for x-rays, the floor was cleaned at least 5 times. In all the time and all the other vets I've been to, I have never seen someone wield a mop (even after a dog threw up..), so seeing that dedication to cleanliness was amazing and very reassuring about the care and sanitation that would be used. They have a specific room just for cat checkups, too. When going over possible options for how to treat my dog, everything was explained very clearly and prices were stated upfront with no hidden fees. The vet even said, she wouldn't do anything until we had confirmed it and the price, which was amazing because at other vets, I've had the experience they just go ahead and administer a variety of things and by the end of it, I'm owing hundreds of dollars and not knowing what all was done or even having agreed to it. They have a quiet room where they discuss with you test results and figure out next stages, and they let you stay there while you make your decisions, which I thought was incredibly considerate, especially considering how emotional certain decisions can be. You have the time and comfort out of public eye.
I was absolutely impressed by the staff at Riverview Animal Hospital. I won't go into the sad details of why I had to visit them last week, but they were so compassionate and kind. I recently moved to Moncton from Toronto and well, I've definitely found my new Vet. Thank you!!
Staff are super friendly and I got an appointment fast.
I have nothing but praise for the Riverview Animal Hospital we were visiting with our beloved 15 year old English setter when she started to have seizures we were in the lucky position to be able to stay here with some friends just 10 mins from the hospital, although the outcome was not good in the end we had nearly 7 weeks with Oreo which we will treasure, The staff were always very professional and gave us all the information we needed to make decisions. Our emergency visits always ended up being out of hours and I have to say coming from Ontario where it is $240 to walk through the door of the emergency clinic without any of the treatments, the fee of $68 and then $49 with follow ups was really appreciated and allowed us to feel able to do all we could, Riverview is very reasonable with its rates and they were always willing to give us the prices of the treatments and give us advise, while never making us feel that we had to go ahead with anything, over the 7 weeks we were in the vets out of hours at least 4 times and then in during daytime at least 4 times. We chose to have tests done and were fully informed of the costs as we went along it was refreshing to deal with a business that, it was as they said we had no surprise bills. Moncton should support this as it is a godsend to have on your doorstep. My husband and me would like to give all the staff a huge thank you for doing all they could.
Very friendly staff
Friendly and helpful.
Friendly helpful caring staff. Was very thankful for their help when I had to let go of my 15 year old dog. His name was Sam. They have a nice room set up as living room and I was able to lay next to him, hold and talk with him through the process. In preparation for the vet to come there were two young ladies that came in to help ready Sam for the vet. It was then that something rather remarkable happen both of these young ladies names were Sam. What were the odds???!!!. It was like a message that I was in the right place and doing the right thing.
Awesome care a d concern for animals and their owners
I would never take my animals anywhere else. Great staff! Great Dr's!
Great staff, really friendly and informative.
I have a mature cat that has an enlarged heart and urinary problems and was in bad shape about a month ago. I took him to Riverview Animal Hospital and they we so great, taking him in and being very diligent in his care. They kept me constantly up to date and they even have a family visitation room I could use to visit Boots anytime I wished. He was lucky to only have a polyp which was benign. Now on a special diet he is starting to be his old self again and hopefully will be around for a few more years. Thanks to Dr Sara and all the staff that made this stressful period an easy one to deal with.
I have been going here for over 10 years and I love my vet. Dr Sarah Moskovits is truly the best. She is really understanding and takes the time to explain things to me. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you ❤️
Excellent hospital, with exceptional staff. Everyone is genuinely so kind, and it is clear that everyone loves what they do. We saw Dr McLaughlin who was absolutely incredible, she was very thorough and took the time to explain everything to us. The amenities are beautiful and well thought out. Our community is lucky to have this place!
This is the only place Ill take my dogs to . Staff is friendly and very acknowledgeable. The vets work with you and ensure the best care .
Amazing team there. So dedicated!
Everything was great. From the first phone call to the visit to leaving the building. The staff was super friendly as was the doctor. Things were thoroughly explained and treatment was quick and easy. The doctor was very good with my pup. Recommended. *** The next day, I received a phone call from them wondering how my pup was making out after his vaccination. Very professional. Well done everyone! ***
We have been extremely pleased with the service received from the staff at the Riverview Animal Hospital. Our 4 year old chocolate lab recently had knee surgery and was at the hospital for a week. Since we live out of town we were so happy to get telephone updates on her progress. I feel confident that Dr. Runyon was the best option for us and that she helped our dog get back to normal. This is a brand new facility that is clean and welcoming.
Great to deal with
They are really nice kind and understanding people. I will forever be in the debt because they helped my dog through a life threatening injury. His name is Rascal he was stabbed through the shoulder and it cut through the artery in the armpit he would've bled out if not for them.
Freindly service and staff.
I have recently moved to Moncton, and have several pets who need a new vet. I booked an appointment three weeks ago to have my young dog neutered; they said they would call a couple of days before his scheduled surgery to go over things, and that I would be fine to bring him and meet with a vet before work so that I didn’t need to book time away from my new job. The night before the appointment I had still heard nothing from them, so I called to confirm he was still scheduled; they said yes, but that I needed to bring him at noon. I replied that if I need to bring him on my lunch break I need to be certain we will be seen quickly; they assured me I would be in and out in ten minutes. The next day we arrived for his appointment – after waiting for twenty five minutes, I had to ask if he was still being seen, as we hadn’t even filled any paperwork or anything at that point. Shortly thereafter someone came to put us in a room. After several more delays she explained that the vet couldn’t see us then, but she could go over all the payment information with me and the vet would call if she had any questions after my dog’s exam. I said this was not acceptable; she left to get a manager, but after another five minutes of waiting I had no choice but to leave, as I was already late to return to my own patients at my own work, and now I had to drop my dog back at home on the way. No one has even called me to apologize. I work in a large clinic; all of us have pets, and none of us will be returning to Riverview after this incredibly poor first impression.
Very helpful place and its 24/7 thats a big +
My Cat was under the weather and my usual vet was booked solid, even emergency. I took my cat, Gary, to the Riverview Animal Hospital. Thankfully I did! The staff were so friendly with Gary, taking extra care of him. Turns out he had a UTI and Dr. Katie was great! Gary liked her so much, we are switching vet's from my usual to Dr. Katie. Thank you, Riverview Animal Hospital, Gary is feeling much better and I have you all to thank.
Very friendly staff; gave me great detailed information about my dog's condition and did a follow-up a couple of week later. Thank you!
Finding out our Mitsou would have to have a eye removed, due to a ulcer that busted, was very tramatic to hear. I was beyond myself with tears as she was going to go through surgery to have the eye removed. Dr. Arsenault stated that she had been in a lot of pain (which of course we would never have known) for some time and that she would feel much better once the surgery was completely... When we first went to retrieve her after she spent the night there, I was overwhelmed with sadness, how terrible she looked, due to the swelling. That was to be expected, which I wasn't ready for..Understandably so! That being said, the service we received from the hospital was first class professional. From the receptionist, assistance and Dr. Dr. Arsenault, they all made us (my husband and I) feel at ease and were very empethatic. We have decided to continue having Mitsou treated at the Hospital for future treatment. Thanks to all of you for caring, understanding and loving our Mitsou.. You Rock!
My hubby and I were there this evening with Eddie ... he's coming around nicely. Thank you so much!❤️
Very helpful
During the evening of August 16th, my miniature dachshund (Koby) let out a painful yelp and immediately lost the use of his hind legs and the ability to void his bladder. An emergency vet in Saint John gave us a pretty grim outlook, even mentioning euthanasia as an option. Thankfully, that vet also mentioned Riverview Animal Hospital and told us that if anyone would be able to help Koby, this would be one of two places. When we called on August 17th, we were told to bring Koby up immediately; that they believed he had IVDD, ruptured a disc, and would require surgery as soon as possible. When we arrived, we met Dr. Moskovits, who would be providing Koby's care, and we were told that their orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Runyon, would come a day before she was scheduled, in order to operate on Koby as soon as possible. Thanks to the timely response and amazing attention to detail from Koby's team of healthcare professionals (Dr. Runyon, Dr. Moskovits, Dr. Pullman, and amazing vet techs (I'm sorry I'm forgetting names), Koby is now healing nicely and is expected to make a full recovery! I am beyond impressed with how well Koby was treated, and how well my parents and I were treated, as well... we couldn't ask to deal with more supportive professionals. It's worth the travel... we would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you all so much. <3
(Translated) Thanks to the Riverview Animal Hospital team. The well-being of my dog is at the heart of their priorities. (Original) Merci à l’équipe de Riverview Animal Hospital. Le bien-être de mon chien est au cœur de leur priorités.
i would like to thank you guy's for your help and kind words when my dog suddenly passed away while traveling through
My dog and I were in a terrible MVA. He had a broken arm and was quite shocky when we arrived. The receptionists were kind and loving, the Vetrinarian technicians amazing, the DVM was clear, calm and encouraging. The nurses were caring and loving, orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Dwan was kind, highly skilled and did incredible work, and the DMV, Dr. MacLaughlin who followed up with another issue was superb. Nurse Jackie helped me stay calm on surgery day. Both my dog and I love the entire team. I’m sorry I don’t have everyone’s names, I was so stressed worry about my boy. But we love you all. They are more expensive than other places but WORTH EVERY PENNY! I live three hours away and have switched my dog to be their regular patient. It’s worth it. Proper diagnoses first time and nothing unnecessary done. The staff will spoil your animal companion with love and attention in a way you’ve never experienced at any other clinic. My dog Sampson loves it there so much it took me 10 minutes to convince him to get in the vehicle to leave. Thank you to ALL the team that makes this happen! You all ROCK!
Polite bunch of people
Brought one of the loves of my life in and we were treated promptly and professionally by the wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Not our first visit and surely won't be our last, good piece of mind knowing that you're always available to help. We love you guys!
Hello, I am writing this review so that no one else will have to experience the pain we did. A couple months ago we brought our cat in who had a blocked bladder. Once the vet determined it was a blocked bladder, she then presented me with a "package deal" of treatments for him. I was a student and informed her of this. This package deal was around $3000, and I told her is their anything cheaper that will make him better. So she leaves the room, then comes back with $800. I was "okay" with that, it was much better then 3k. Anyway, they call me saying the unblocking was done and that the vet wanted to know if i wanted to give him fluids, for an extra cost. (why wasn't that included in the $800?) She told me he should be okay without them but it's always a good precaution to take them. I was already worried about paying my initial bill and after talking it over with the vet, I decided to pass. I took my cat home that afternoon and everything seemed okay. Slowly in the next couple of days he wasn't getting better, just worse. I called the Riverview Animal Hospital a couple times each day because I was worried, he wasn't eating and didn't seem to be improving. Every time they told me it was normal and just to keep an eye on him. The last time I called they said I should bring him in but unless i wanted to pay the emergency fee again I could only get an appointment the next week. By the 3rd day my cat tried to get up and his legs just gave out, he was so weak. I messaged my friend (who's mom is a vet) a video of him and my friends mom told me to head to her clinic right away, that this cat wasn't in good shape. I found out that 1 I was EXTREMELY overcharged by the Riverview Animal Hospital, and 2 my cat did not receive the proper treatment. I learnt that when a cat is blocked they need fluid for at-least 24 hours after to make sure his kidneys are okay. This was not done nor was I informed of the importance of this by the Riverview Animal Hospital. By the time he got fluids and it was too late, the damage was done. We tried various things to help him recover but in the end it wad too late and we lost our boy. I understand that emergency services can be a bit more costly but I expected to recieve a cat in stable condition. Not given back a dying (preventable) cat. Not even worth it as the emergency service as the animal isn’t even promised proper treatment after you, the customer, pays for. I am completely disappointed by the “service” provided here. EDIT: I can’t reply to your comment but I did call when it happened and they told me that they won’t do anything to make it better.
Very friendly staff
Although the counter staff is exceptionally friendly, my experiences with the Vet herself have been negative on many occasions. They are very secretive of their prices and perform procedures based on assumptions before explaining the costs before hand.a "quick swap" of my dogs ear while visiting for her yearly $90 checkup resulted in an additional almost $200 for "In House Analysis" which came back with an answer of "I think it could possibly be..." instead of a definite answer. For $200 I should be getting an "It IS..." answer. I was also told my dog was underweight by the Vet and recommended a very expensive diet for her; however, was later told by a second vet that she was exceptionally healthy. I only return here because it is close to my house and is where my animal is registered; however, I will be finding alternative care soon.
Last week, I braught my new Beagle puppy in for her first visit at this vet, on Wensday for her 12 weeks needles. They also gave her a flea treatment and de wormer, which I gave her oraly the next day. When they gave her the vaccine, the vet tech, gave her some cheese in a bottle to keep her occupied. The vet almost right away said you probably shouldn't have given that to her. She then looked at me, and said she may get diarrhea. The next day, the Diarrhea began. 3 or 4 times a day, so I called and they said to just keep an eye on her. By Monday it was pure liquid diarrhea. We called the vet, who said to bring her in immediately and that there would be no exam fee. After hours, of finding out absolutely nothing, they said it was just a reaction to a vaccine , or that cheese that the tech gave her. They sent her home with some medications, and I received a bill. Not only did they charge me 85$ for a exam fee, but also an emergency 50$ fee on top of that! After telling me there would be no exam fees. I am not impressed. We braught up the fact that the other vets had given her that cheese bottle spray, and they said that's normal for them to do it. My question is if it's normal, why did the Vet immediately tell the vet tech she should not have done this. 318$ later, because of a reaction to something they most likely caused , and then to lie about the 135$ exam fee, they will never get another penny for me. On top of everything, it was 430 in the afternoon, why am I being charged an emergency fee in the middle of the day? Nice people , but no ethics. All of that to find out absolutely nothing. I conatcted them Tuesday , a d have been waiting ever since for a manager to call back. Clearly great customer service. Save yourself some money and chose a different vet, who won't charge you for things they said they wouldn't.
our dog was run over, 1.5 hour drive, 3 hour wait til 1 in the morning, and than they tell us they can't do anything for to help our dog and they charged us $300 for nothing, worst vet ever
They are very kind to all their patients and owners.
Louie was diagnosed with Lunar and Radial Dysplacia and our local Fall River Vet referred us to Riverview Animal Hospital. Before we even decided we checked out the Atlantic Veterinary College and another Orthopaedic Vet in Bedford. We asked a neighbour who has their Havanese operated on in both legs, one Leg in Bedford and the other in Riverview. They said without hesitation that Riverview was the best. Louie’s was a very complicated case and had three setbacks so we became very familiar with the team in Riverview. Dr Arsenault was the lead surgeon and he is fantastic and very through and caring. He consulted with 4 other surgeons before he proceeded with Louie where his bones were so very deformed. The entire staff from the front desk staff to the techs and the vets are absolutely top notch! Luckily we had pet insurance and the girls helped with filing all of the claims and we immediate in their follow up in supplying additional documentation! The vet techs and Dr Arsenault called each and every day to brief us on Louie’s progress or setbacks as he went through this experience. They encouraged us to call at any time with any and all questions or concerns no matter the time of day. They sent us pictures of our baby and even decorated his bandages for Valentines Day! Louie became quite a hit with the team there and they treated him with emphathy and love and of course expert care! If your pet gets sick or injured, look no further than this hospital and if you are lucky enough to live close by they should be your choice as your primary care provider! We can’t thank them enough James and Anne Rodger and especially little Louie our beautiful Havanese 2 year old boy.
Friendly competent staff, seem to care for our pets... Good at offering options when treatments are costly...
My 3 year old best pal/cat Satchel had some very series urinary problems. Started with a blockage and kind of snowballed. For a while, It wasn't looking good for him. Today, I finally have him home and he's doing great. I have to send out a gigantic thanks to the entire staff at the Riverview Animal Hospital for saving my little buddies life. I was weary of vet clinics, had a few bad experiences, Not here. They went way, way, far above and beyond to get Satch-Cat well again. I can't say enough good things about them. If you have a sick pet, they're the place to go. Thank You!
Animal hospital with 24/7 emergency veterinarian service.
This has been one of the best vet experiences I have had. I received daily updates about Marshall, every time I spoke to someone they were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. They made sure I felt comfortable about leaving my dog there, Thanks for being awesome!
I've been highly disappointed in the management of this place as well as the same management that oversees the vast majority of vet clinics in the area. In addition, some (but not all) of the employees here don't seem to really take pride in their work. Then again, why would you when you're paid zilch. I've had friends who have worked there, I myself have been a customer and I have friends who have worked here. Please. Don't go here. You and your pet are better served at any of the other clinics in the Riverview area.
Friendly staff & not their solely to make money. If you need to bring your animal in for an emergency appointment they won't charge you extra like some other veterinarian clinics do.
The staff here are wonderful! I wont take my pets anywhere but here!!!
So disgusted by the money grubbing owners of this vet clinic. Charging clients an emergency fee during business hours to be seen right away for an injured animal. The fact that this clinic already charges more than anyone else in the city because they are an emergency animal hospital is bad enough but than they charge an emergency fee on top of the already inflated vet visit (again during regular business hours). Will never take any of my animals there again for regular visits. All they care about is money, not the animals. Yes I understand they are a business and need to make money but the insane amount they force people to pay during emotional and frantic moments is unethical, predatory and downright inhuman.
Our puppy soggy passed away there but one thing for sure is that they did everything to help her after being attacked by 2 pitbulls.. thank you girls for doin the best u could do!
Absolutely the best vets, hands down. They really care about your pets........just excellent.
Friendly and caring people. Dog food is expensive though!
My furbaby Tigger became ill on June 18th. He had diarrhea and there was a tiny amount of blood. I called Vetcare and they told me to monitor him for the weekend. He seemed fine until I noticed a decreased appetite, passing gas, and more diarrhea on June 25th. Vetcare advised us to take him to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Riverview. We went on Monday, June 28th because we noticed Tigger's appetite was decreasing quickly. We had to wait to get him triaged. The place was very busy and we ended up sitting there for 5 hours. Poor Tigger was stuck in his carrier with no food, water, or litter box. Finally we saw Dr. Tamara and she took Tigger away to examine. All of his vitals were good. His organs were also fine and there was nothing abnormal about his abdomen. She was concerned about his blood work. It was showing high white cell count and anemia. Well ya, he hasn't eaten much at all! She wanted to do an ultrasound and we declined. I asked her to give him something to ease his stomach so he would eat. The vet would not come out and face us, instead she called me on my cell in the waiting area! She gave Tigger an injection of pain killer (quite a high dose), vitamin B12, and 2 very powerful antibiotics. I later researched these and they are known to kill your animal in high doses. We took Tigger home and he was purring, but completely stoned. He still would not eat and now I had to shove 2 high doses of antibiotics into his already sore tummy. My gut told me to stop the meds and have him re-examined. We returned on July 1st and had to go through triage again! Dr. Nelson suspected fluid in his abdomen and wanted to do an ultrasound. We said okay and the results showed one of 2 things: 1. Cancer or 2. A feline coronavirus. She wasn't sure. She discussed the poor prognosis and suggested steroids, but it would most likely not help. Why weren't we told this in the first place. Tigger was put to sleep to stop his suffering and I feel so guilty and I still don't know what was wrong with him. One thousand dollars and no cat to hold. There is something wrong with this picture! If the first vet thought there was no hope, she should have told us face to face. I am very upset with this service and feel helpless. I feel I hurt my sweet Tigger by taking him to this animal hospital.
Excellent facility for your pet. Very caring staff!
They are amazing and will treat your fur babies likes their own children!
Would not recommend this vet. My 12 week old puppy hurt her leg, I was determined it was broken called Riverview Animal Hospital to have her seen. Sat there for 5 hours never got past the front the desk. Beside me was a lady with a 14 year old dog who was there for 7 hours. I decided to leave and got her in to see my normal vet the next business day to find out she has a torn ACL!
Took good care of Stud.
Really friendly, knowledgeable professional staff. Clean and pleasant clinic.
Service is FANTASTIC! They took our puppy in for an emergency surgery after swallowing a fish hook. My Husband and I are blown away by how these folks go "the extra mile". Thanks to all the staff for saving our pup..!
I got my cat fixed at a different vet and had to bring her here when her stitches come out and they put staples in and gave her a shot of antibiotics and 5 days later her staples have come out 3/5 of them she has a cone collar on that hasn’t come off at all and when I called so they could put more in because my vet is yet closed again they want to charge me again for another visit when I already paid 150$ last time I was there this is not right! Every other vet I talk to said they do not change for another visit if they pet has to go back this is ridiculous!
This is the animal hospital were they think saying "sorry" cuts mistakes which could have ended your animal's life. This is a scary place to leave your animal. Don't do it. The staff doesn't communicate with each other at all. SEVERAL times I told them not to leave clay litter in my cat's section bc she could eat it & cause intestinal obstruction. Several times I told them that she's on prescription food (prescribed by her primary vet) for them to feed her whatever they liked. It took days of me having to micro manage them from afar to get them to listen to me. They will do whatever they feel like with your animal. I gave them these directions before my cat was to be there and while she was there. I handed the food TO THE VET TECH & explained it to her for them for 2.5 days to feed her food that could cause her pancreatitis (the reason for her being on the special diet). They're in bed with SPCA. The Riverview staff lie incredibly. They're condescending. They care about their image and not about your animal. They took risks with our cat. I gave them very simple instructions: No clay & here's her food. The only thing I didn't do was feed her myself at the hospital. I gave them the respect of paying $1897.00 upfront for them to treat my cat & me this way. It was such a stressful weekend for my family having to manage them from afar. My cat now has a high fPLI - as I said would happen with not feeding her her prescribed diet. Abby has been sick because of Riverview's carelessness. Because Riverview fed Abby the wrong food - she's been feeling ill, in pancreatic flare. As reply to Riverview's reply: Feeding her what you felt like feeding her instead of her food I HANDED YOU and told you about SEVERAL TIMES, causing her pain and illness due to the pancreatic flare from being off her diet doesn't meet expectations. Are you out of your minds?
Very kind and knowledgeable
They've been taking care of my animals and my parents animals for a few years now. amazing place with amazing and caring staff.
Fantastic service and follow up. Staff really care about your pet and are informative.
We were desperate to see someone after getting the run around from Grey Cove and never seeing a vet there ever. Appointments are so far in the future that its just stupid to wait to get help to see your ill dog/cat. Our dog was looked at and eye issue resolved and we were seen the same day I called. These people are wonderful and truly love your pets. Not like other vets that are just in it for the $$$. So sad I will never take my dogs to anyone else ever. Lovely place and clean and a happy atmosphere. Vet was lovely. We are hooked.
the people were nice and took good care of my dog
Amazing Dr's 24/7/365 availability with great staff and vets, they value you and your baby and go above and beyond to help them.
They save my dog life. They deserve a five star
Excellent care of our pets. They always take the time to explain and review so we understand conditions and treatment so we can make the best possible choices for our fur babies. From initial phone calls to the last appointment, all staff members are always kind, friendly, helpful and caring.
Went there for a night time emergency from out of town. The staff were clear and informative over the phone and were able to get an appointment which coincided with our arrival in Moncton. Vets were great and really encouraging
Very friendly staff
Fantastic and caring staff
Excellent service and very understanding and empathetic staff. Thank you for everything!
One of the best!
very good staff, highly recommend !
We drive 8+hours to see the vets at this place. We have so much confidence in these veterinarians and we will definitely keep coming back!
This past month, we have spent a great amount of time at the Riverview Animal Hospital with our dog Sadie. The staff and Vets there were great, I couldn't say enough good things about them. They all work very hard, and their compassion for animals shines and it shows they have made the right choice for a career. We were an exception to the norm as Sadie ended up having two surgery's within a week of each other and she was there for a little more than a week in total. With them open 24 hours a day now, it gave us an opportunity to visit with our pet when it was convenient with us as long as they were not busy with emergencies, it was ok to come in for a short visit. She was well cared for and the center of attention with everyone who came into the hospital as staff. Being there as much as we were, it gave me an opportunity to see the staff with all the other patients as well as mine and it was very obvious that they were good with all of them. They all took the time to stop and speak to Sadie and the others or give them a little pat on the head. Now that Sadie is home, the staff have called to check on her and tell us that they miss her and to see how she is doing. I would definitely recommend them for any care and hope that everyone's experience with them is the same or very close to what we experienced.
They treated my dog great very friendly
Excellent staff! They took care of my cat very well.
Always a positive experience here!
Excellent service, very caring
Thank you Dr. Roussel and staff. Your kindness to both me and Harley, our 18 month old Standard Poodle, was greatly appreciated. The professionalism with which he was examined and subsequently treated was excellent. I couldn't believe how calm and friendly he remained throughout all of the examining etc. - a testament to you and your staff's demeanour for sure.
Friendly, helpful and professional staff. No negative issues. It's always important to remember that owning a pet requires an investment of time and money and accusing a business of holding a pet hostage iin an online forum is legally considered slander.
It was a pretty long wait but it WAS a Saturday and they cover a lot of the other clinics. The triage nurse and the doctor were great: very caring with my female cat and were able to answer my many detailed questions. All in all - very pleased with them. The cost was also not terrible which always helps.
Staff is amazing , and they have a great set up when you have to put an animal down. They are very passionate at what they do.
Just awesome
This company's heart is definitely in the right place . Thank you so much . on behalf of max and 4 kids who could have gotten some horrible news during the Christmas holidays
I came here when my cat was extremely sick after getting spayed. A vet at this hospital told me that my cat was on the verge of death because she was internally bleeding in her abdomen. The vet claimed she saw a bursted ligature on an ultrasound and proceeded to tell me that it would cost $2500 to save her, and that was if the surgery went well. I then brought my cat to my vet to get a second opinion once he opened and he told me there were no signs of internal bleeding in the abdomen as there was no swelling and she was super skinny. My cat would have died if I had taken Dr. Roussel's advice, since she was way too weak to go under anesthesia for the second time in less than 24 hours. I am very disappointed in the lies they told me, and hope that she recognizes her mistake that could've cost me my cat's life.
I could not speak more highly of Dr. Runyon and Jessie Wheatley. Quick to respond, attentive, and of course, professional. Our precious golden is doing well and we have the team to thank.
Had an emergency with one of our pups suddenly in the middle of the night, he was assessed by Amanda at Riverview Hospital. She was very welcoming and friendly. Amanda recognized the symptoms right away. It gave us a great relief when she told us he’ll be better soon. We want to thank her for everything she did for us that night and would highly recommend anyone experiencing trouble with their pet after hours to head to Riverview Animal Hospital. - Julie.
I brought my cat here, after hours as he was not feeling well and I was unsure what as wrong. He is older and I didn’t want to risk waiting over night to bring him to his regular vet so decided to do the emergency vet. Apparently an exam was done on my cat, I wasn’t able to go in due to covid protocol so I am not sure what was exactly looked at, then blood work was done. $600 later my cat is home with “hyper thyroid” although I have not seen the blood work rec. I noticed the next day my cat was favouring one side of his face and my dog kept wanting to lick his ear, I took a look at it, not a vet, and it’s noticeable he has an ear infection. I called to Riverview Animal to advise of this and wanted to have him checked again and an antibiotic for the ear, however was told he would need to go to his regular vet for a recheck. So after paying for an exam on my cat I was denied having him looked at again when that should have been looked at originally. I Don’t believe I should have to go to another vet, pay another exam fee, for something the vet at Riverview Animal should have noticed on his exam with them. Completely unacceptable.
The worst service we have ever had..called ahead and waited well over 6 hours to get service with a sick dog on our lap the whole time..I would never recommend this place to anyone..
Friendly for pets
Where to even start! I love this place. Everytime i go there I always get a great service. This time my dog needed to get a surgery done for a torn ACL. Before the surgery they took the time to explain to me everything they were going to do and what to expect afterwards. Dr. Arsenault is the one who did the surgery. What I appreciated the most about him is that when the surgery was done he took the time to call me to tell me how it went. He didn't make a receptionist or anyone else call. I thought that was really nice of him. He then called again the next morning to tell me everything was going great and I could pick my dog up anytime. I felt like he really cared about my dog and took the time to call me to give me updates. Everyone is great there from the vets to the front desk staff. They always go out of their way to make sure we are taking care of. Thank you to everyone at Riverview Animal Hospital. We appreciate everything you guys do to make sure our babies are taken care of :)
I worked at a vet clinic in NS for a couple of years and have heard good things about Riverview Animal Hospital through working there. When I moved to the area, my German Shorthaired Pointer needed an appointment right away, so I thought I would check them out. They got me right in! Both vets were very friendly and interacted well with my dog. Would definitely recommend, and will probably end up going back in the future!
Nice doctors
Sickly disgusted with this service. My daughters dog ingested some material last night. She is not from the area but a student there, therefore luckily her dog is in the care of an angel vet service in New Glasgow. She was advised by an employee who I later learned was a receptionist that this was an emergency and to bring the dog in at almost 12 midnight. My daughter took a taxi, was charged the $150 initial cost which she was informed of. She had inquired the cost of at xray and was quoted $65. I called to ensure they arrived safely and was informed by the receptionist it was 'funny' in regards to the material the dog had ingested. Considering we were told it was an emergency I didnt agree. She told my daughter shed tell her I called which she never did. The care the dog received was over $200in xray despite the quote, the dog was given unnecessary medication for vomiting as it was not, and given subcue hydration which in turn the dog came home with sacs of fluid on her and was drinking. She left with a $537.12 bill. She is a student and was trying her best to care for her pet and relief on the expert advice expected. She came home with no ease of mind and more worries given the sacs of fluid as she was told the xray was not conclusive to rule out a blockage. I would warn you will be greatly taken advantage of due to the love of your pet with this facility.
Great bunch of professional animal people.
(Translated) Evan Sexton and Isabelle Leblanc Carleton-sur-Mer, Gaspésie, Québec We went to Riverview on October 31, 2019 and our dog Poker received surgery for the left knee cruciate ligament (TPLO). Dr. Francis Arsenault explained to us precisely what he was going to do and the follow-up to the intervention. How should poker convalescence go? We have to say that everything went roughly as planned. The healing stages, the gradual resumption of activities. We were impressed by the medical establishment: the welcome from the staff, their way of speaking and treating our dog, their kindness and of course their undeniable professionalism. All the people we met: secretaries, technicians, attendants, without forgetting of course Dr. Arsenault, received us as well (if not better in some respects) than if it had been a hospital for humans. Today, almost three months before his operation, our dog has resumed a normal rhythm of life. We are still monitoring certain activities so that they take place gradually. Also, we have managed to give our dog a balanced diet. He has lost weight and is doing better. We plan to continue this lifestyle for him. If it were to be done again, it would be without hesitation that we would use the services of Riverview Animal Hospital! We would like to thank and congratulate the team! You are EXTRAORDINARY! Very friendly and helpul
Thank you to Dr Roussel and Dr MacLeod for your attentiveness to our Wyatt , care and compassion as we made the painful decision to end his pain. Your straightforwardness, but absolute compassion and respectfulness made it easier for us to make our painful decision and how you allowed us to do within our timing also added to our peace about our decision. Thank you to the staff to ensuring his comfort while we made our decision. That was very important to us. Thank you!
(Translated) Very professional. (Original) Very professionnel.
About a month ago we unfortunately had to put our little dog down due to the fact that she was paralyzed in the back end. we had been to our regular vet who had advised us that there wasn't much they could do, besides give her medications to help ease her pain. They also said they could amputate the leg and attach her to a cart. Due to the fact that she was reaching 11 years of age and had been unhealthy for quite some time, we decided that putting her down would be the best option. But we tried the meds, for about a week, not wanting to face the fact that she wasn't getting any better. We took her in and my father, having a very strong emotional connection to her, wanted to get in and get out and get it over with. He was already on the verge of tears when we walked in, and that was obvious. He said to the woman at the desk why we were there and she said "Okay I'll have the vet meet with you" which was an extra cost that we were not aware of, but that's not what bothered us. My dad asked "but why do I need to see the vet? I already met with a vet and we made the decision." And the woman at the desk and went on to say "um to talk to the vet??" In a very sarcastic and rude manner. I couldn't believe it. How I nsensitive could they be? We felt very disrespected. Definitely not going to be returning with our other pets. The staff is very impatient, rude and disrespectful. I was very dissapointed with our experience and I will spread the word for sure.
Love the staff and the care. However, with all the strays we complain about, prices should be lowered on spaying and neutering. Perhaps the feral cat issues would decline. This should be in place for all vet hospitals. Update August /18: After breaking her leg, the care my dog was given by the vets who saw her and operated on her was beyond amazing. That said, one week after her surgery my dog wasn't eating and was lethargic. I read up on all of the medications she was on and one stood out as the possible reason she could be acting this way. This medication clearly comes with warnings all over it's website it should only be given for a max of 3 days in big bold letters on more than one area of the site. I called to ask if I should take her off of it. The person I spoke with said "it's up to you if you want to take your dog off it?!?! WHAT??? I replied "but I'm not a vet, that is why I am calling to get the opinion of a vet and I am trying to do what was best for my dog." she then told me that the vet who operated on her was not in and the vet that had taken over the case was not in until Thursday and she would leave a message for the new person in charge of my dogs case to call me on Thursday, so I had to wait an additional 4 days for someone to tell me if I can take my dog off her meds???....guess what, I have never received that call, that was almost 2 weeks ago and I left a specific number to be reached at and do not have a record of a call or a message from anyone, furthermore, I am calling my vet to ask a question, I would hope with the amount of money they are charging me, that any vet in the building, could have looked at my dogs file and given me an answer right then and there based on her records and what she was taking and the way she was acting. The billing process has been nothing short of a nightmare. We have pet insurance and we asked if the insurance company could be directly billed. The ladies we delt with they day we brought our girl in, which was a holiday Monday, were wonderful they got everything in action. The insurance came back with in mins with an okay. We paid our deductable and left. On Thursday when we returned to drop out dog off for surgery the office manager (this is how she addressed herself) said "we don't usually direct bill" and was going to make us pay the entire amount. We had to get them to look up our file and see that we had already been approved and paid the deductable, so all we needed to pay was the 10%. She checked and did see this was the case so we paid the 10% and that should have settled it. On the following day when we went to get our dog post op. they tried to make us pay over $3100 again...they don't check their files at all. Oh and it gets better, today August 28, 2018, I received another call telling me we owed yet another $1300???? I said yeah no, there's something shady going on. The lady then said she would call the insurance company and see if they were cutting another cheque, as it turns out they are....but why, why, why wouldn't you dot your i's and cross your t's before you call your client? I wont be bringing my animals back there, which is a shame because the vets themselves were amazing, informative and wonderful. The office staff however are in need of some serious coaching and training.
Having a sick pet isn't something that's easy to swallow. But Riverview Animal Hospital took amazing care of my sweet boy while he was there. So welcoming, kind, and comforting
It’s a peaceful night of reflection and gratitude as we watch our little dog Nixie recover from a traumatic injury of her liver while swimming along Dobson Trail Upon arriving at the front door of the Riverview animal hospital ,carrying her in and handing her off to the professional and compassionate front staff it was moments of chaos as we were told she was dying and they needed to act quickly Dr Lethan Dwan is a true champion of his profession A man of compassion and professionalism that gave us courage and confidence. He and his colleagues and all those involved in her care quickly formulated a plan of action for immediate surgery and upon successfully repairing the damage continued for the next 5 days of providing world class care and exceptional communication for her prognosis We were involved in all decisions and accommodated for visits to ensure the best possible outcome Word of praise are simply not enough for the gift that we have received How blessed we are that these people who everyday perform to the very best of their abilities giving the animals the care, compassion and truly heart felt attention as if they were their own I hope than everyone that crossed our paths in the last week know how incredible we feel they are and how humbly grateful we are for the extraordinary efforts made The adventure continues for Nixie with many more years of enjoyment thanks to them Nixie, Jocelyn & Bill ❤️
I had an emergency with my youngest cat and phoned Riverview on a Sunday morning. They were ready for us when I got there a couple of hours later and were SO compassionate, straightforward, and helpful, Squiggy (he came with that name :) needed to spend a couple of days there, and they phoned me later that day and each day to let me know how he was doing, answer questions, reassure me, etc. I was so impressed with the vets and all the staff. Couldn't ask for a better place or better results. They obviously care a great deal about the animals -- and their people -- that they work with.
Riverview is a hospital with excellent staff who truly care for animals and who understand that those pets are our babies. Before finding Riverview, we had a difficult time finding treatment for one of our dogs, Alize. She was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma on one of her front limbs and our vet did not know where to refer us. We were told that there is no place in Atlantic Canada that has the diagnostic equipment (such as a CT Scan) or the expertise to remove and treat this type of cancer so we drove to Montreal at DMV Center. When all treatments failed it came time to opt for amputation as a last option. And again, we were considering Montreal. By luck, through a search on-line, we found Riverview Animal Hospital and learned they have an excellent surgeon (thank you Dr. Arsenault) and the diagnosis equipment required. The entire staff there, not only that they looked after Alize constantly and spoiled her, but were compassionate with us through this difficult process. As a result, Alize is doing great, she is a happy girl and back to her old tricks. Thank you again!! Tatiana
The staff is very kind and caring
If it weren't for the people at RAH, my cat wouldn't be with us today. They've saved his life twice, and have been amazing through it all. Great doctors, great staff, I will never go anywhere else.
Dr.Dwan was recommended to me by my groomer and he was absolutely amazing. I felt super comfortable bringing my 12 year old dog in for surgery. My dog took his bandage off a day later and we had to go back.I do believe Jackie was the one to put it back on and she was great. My dog felt calm and relax in her arms when she brought him back out. The whole staff is very understanding and super friendly. I will never bring my dog anywhere else but here. Thank you for making our experience such a great one.
Took my dog in for stitches and everything went well. Then 2 weeks later called to have them removed they said they were to busy and to call elmwood. I was ticked off thinking elmwood was gonna charge me but they said it would be free. Was pleasantly surprised. Over all pleased with the service I got.
Couldn't ask for better service. Staff is very kind and knowledgeable.
Quick and friendly!!!
We have been dealing with this place for the past few years & have spent thousands of dollars on our dogs. We deal mostly with Dr McLaughlin & she is the best for the last 2 days we have been trying to get in because one of our dogs is in heat & is bleeding a lot went over on Monday & they told us a minimum of a 5 hour wait so we decided to leave knowing Dr McLaughlin is working the following day we called back again last night to see if we could get in to see Dr McLaughlin & we were told no. The girl on the phone had an attitude & told us we could not see Dr McLaughlin for at least a week or so. Considering we have supported this place for years, spent thousands of dollars. Just wondering if this is how you treat your regulars.
I would highly recommend Riverview animal hospital. Dr. McLaughlin was amazing with my cat, Oliver. All of the staff were caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. I was amazed with the care he received.
Great service and follow up. Very compassionate and effective in communicating all options to properly care and treat the patient.
I took my sick hamster here and was prescribed medicine. After the second dose of medicine my pet died. I called the animal hospital to explain my situation and was ignored not once, but three times. After my second one-star review and fourth call to the animal hospital, I was able to talk to someone about my dead pet. They didn’t want to admit negligence and suggested my hamster died of old age or the existing illness. The vet had warned me the medicine may not be effective but failed to mention the medicine would kill my hamster within an hour. The staff I spoke to on the phone assured me three separate times that the vet would get back to me but she never did, so I am left without answers and an empty hamster cage. I deeply regret taking my small pet to this animal hospital.
Had a late-night poisoning scare with my dog, and they were so kind and professional. They consulted with specialists and made all the best recommendations. I was so impressed with their care and kindness - with the animals, owners, and with each other.
Very helpful staff and really caring.
Horrible... We are always ignored for several hours even though we came all the way from shediac because our vet was closed. No one sits with an animal for 7 hours without the situation being serious. People come and people go but we sit and be ignored until we finally leave. That's the strategy at this animal hospital when they don't want to bother with your animal. It's a shame and rediculous. No need of it.
Open every day even holidays. Which is why I started going there as my new puppy I got on Christmas eve had fleas. I find the vets are not super approachable or thorough but the reception staff is exceptional. I have never gone to a vet that didn't clip the nails and clean the ears but maybe it's different now.
Have been to this clinic without a single good experience... poor customer service and veys that seem more interested in profit then helping animals.
They were able to take us in last minute and they were very kind. They called the next day to check on him
Extremely great staff who really care about your pet. Over this past year they have gone beyond to care for my dog. Would highly recommend. Its a plus theyre open 24/7.

Excellent and very caring experience from all the staff. Great place.
I would like to thank the vets and staff for taking of my kittie, Casper . Casper who is 14 was diagnosed with thyroid. The procedure meant that she had to spend a week there. The vet and staff gave me daily updates. They were very patient with Casper as she can be a handful! I had to take her back for a follow up and it’s a testament to their care that she did not put up her usual fuss . If she could speak I am sure she would have said “ Oh its just you again – no big deal “ I have been going to the hospital with Casper since she was a little kittie and I have always found that they know their stuff are friendly and best of all they understand the bond you have with your pet !!! Thank you so much !! . Casper is doing well and back to her normal demanding self !!
Thanks from Diesel!
Worst vet experience EVER!!!
Our 8 lb Morkie ate mouse poison and we did not know for 12 hours. I rushed her to Riverview Animal hospital and the minute I got there a Vet Tech took her from me and within seconds made her throw up and started the process to save her life. Dr. Christine was outstanding and was so nice to me thru it all. We were sent home with a month long antidote and a follow up appointment and to top off the great service, I received a call from the Hospital a day after to be sure things were going well. Just hearing her caring voice on the phone was incredible. We moved here 1 year ago and we purposely moved to Riverview to be near this hospital as we already had a Sharpei with health issues that when they arise are urgent. We are so lucky to have this wonderful facility in Riverview ! I highly recommend Riverview Animal Hospital
Awful service, called to see about getting medication that I’ve done numerous times due to my vet being closed. She basically told me she can’t do nothing for me, after I told her she would go into seizures without them
Oh m’y what a great service ,Molly wasn’t scared great staff .????????
Great animal hospital - have been here many times and so thankful to have them. Such a blessing they are open 24 hours a day including holidays!
My 11 year old dog, Candi, suffered from ear infections for about nine months which did not respond to any number of antibiotics and treatments. Consequently, her ear developed gross thickening of the tissues of her inner ear canal resulting pain and no other effective treatment. My own Veterinarian referred me to Riverview and Candi was seen by Dr. Francis Arsenault there. He recommended a CT Scan to confirm his diagnosis and surgical plan. The result was that she had to have her entire ear canal removed! A major surgery for a 22 pound senior, very anxious dog. The surgery was a success although difficult with a her having a bit of a heart issue while under anesthesia. The night she stayed at the hospital following also turned out to be difficult as she had an issue with her lungs and excess fluid. Perhaps due to her being a highly anxious dog. Dr. Arsenault felt she would fair better at home and she and I were most happy to comply! She came home with a regime of medication and two weeks later returned for removal of the sutures. She is finally pain free! Momma and Poppa are happy, albeit with a much lighter wallet!
I never went to the actual clinic due to I live far out , but a couple months ago my cat was very ill and the vet around my place charged me an arm and a leg and when I picked him up he was in worse shape then when I brought him, but I got on the phone and called this clinic and they told me exactly what to do , and I am forever greatful cuz now my beautiful cat is as healthy as could be thanks to who ever I talked to ????
We are new clients to the Riverview Animal Hospital as we just moved to the area but have had exceptional service so far. Even with a small emergency, they were able to see us within 30 mins. I deducted a star because I have been there on 4 separate occasions now and have seen 4 different veterinarians, I can't remember any of their names.
This vet is so frustrating. I've been here multiple times this year and spent over $4000 on mostly unnecessary medications and charges. It seems there always giving the animals shots and medications without reason. I feel like a lot of people here get taken advantage of because we trust blindly and want to keep our pets healthy, when all they want is your money. I haven't been here and not waited 2-10 hours. Whether it was an actual appointment or triage. The vet techs and front desk can't communicate effectively. They always seem confused and rarely have answers. I realize their busy but a better system needs to be put in place. It shouldn't be the customers responsibility to harrass the staff after spending a entire day there, just to get attitude, when your pet is sick and stuck in a cage . Especially when the question is simple. I'm unsure if the vets can even be trusted because the triage and follow up appointment vet contradict each other. For sure going else where for a different opinion. I can't believe I've wasted so much time and money here, I'll never be back and make sure everyone knows it should only be used as a last resort. My poor pet has been through enough
Rushed my Mothers cat to emergency and they quickly advised she had severe hyperthyroidism. Unlike John MacLeans' experience, everything was explained to us clearly and all the steps that would be needed to take to make her well. Including 3-4 weeks of pills/eating/gaining strength etc, in order to be able to handle to radioactive treatment. Yes, the cost is very high, but they have been excellent towards her, 24 hrs care for two days now, and the Vets themselves calling me in the mornings and at night for updates. So, overall I am very happy, but I do need to rob a bank to pay for it.
Good Hospital and good staff they care about your animals.
My senior cat was having a couple of issues. I quickly got an appointment, was given lots of information on the results of his exam and he was treated and back home before I knew it. Everyone I interacted with was super nice and helpful. Thank you
Always take care of my pets with passion. Great to work with for blood donations
Our small dog had an urgent medical issue on a Saturday. New to the area we had not yet visited a new vet so chose this one based on its reviews and that it was staffed on weekends, but not knowing it was four hours away. I am so glad this was where we ended up. I have rarely encountered a more professional organization, everyone we met was competent, friendly and caring. From the initial contact with the receptionist, to the screening by the tech, and the updates and explanations from the vet everything was clearly explained and options presented. At discharge the vet and tech both explained follow up care and medications and added printed instructions as well. I was provided an email address to contact for concerns and the clinic followed up the next day with a phone call to address any concerns. This clinic is special, it goes beyond the excellent medical care our Millie was provided, it is the exceptional attitude each person I encountered brought to their job that Saturday. Thank you all.
Love this animal hospital! Staff are top notch and the service is excellent! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our doctor is- Dr Penny MacLaughin (sp). She is knowledgeable and always ready to address any concerns. Our dogs LOVE going to the vet because of her!
We had to put are cat down and they were amazing the veterinarian was so helpful I will forever be thankful for all there help and support
Great vets
Awesome service and great staff
Well, it has been a very stressful time at my house over the last few months. Our best friend and most prized possession, Monty, is having his health issues all at once after years of incredible good health. Over the summer troubles with swelling on his nose which culminated with surgery to remove one of Monty's top canine teeth which was deteriorating from the sinus down. Big thank you to Dr. Tara MacLeod and all the great staff for getting us through that procedure. Just recuperating from that surgery when he experienced a cranial cruciate ligament rupture in one of his back legs. TPLO surgery scheduled for Tuesday, 30th September but on Sunday night before that date in his good back leg the cranial cruciate ligament ruptured. We were devastated to say the least and expected the worst outcome but thanks to the Riverview Animal Hopital in Riverview, New Brunswick, and the expertise of Dr. Francis Arsenault and all the rest of the exceptional staff we have hope for Monty. He had a TPLO procedure on one back leg performed by Dr. Arsenault and is now back at home recuperating and is doing extremely well. So well that he will have the second surgery on Tuesday, 21st October, on the three week anniversary of his first TPLO procedure. We are looking forward to an excellent outcome for Monty. We can not say enough about the Riverview Animal Hospital and the compassion and kindness shown us and Monty during this extremely stressful time. The expertise of the staff has allowed Monty a chance for an active future. Monty, Peter & Brenda
Very clean and updated.
My experience today was absolutely terrible. After 6 hours of waiting with the dog who couldn’t walk, I had to leave their emergency department. Two ladies at the front desk didn’t pay attention at clients at all. One of them was making a personal call for about 15 minutes and laughed loudly among clients with sick pets. I was told there was no chance to book an appointment for three weeks, so for me it meant no chance to see a doctor for me partially paralyzed dog. The increased demand for your services is not an excuse. It is the reason to manage your clinic better. You have best doctors in Moncton, but unable to organize your service properly.
I went to pick up my cats ashes yesterday. I was kind of a bit upset (emotionally) as i patiently waited for the staff member to go get his ashes. The employee comes from out back passes me a black bag and says have a nice day then walks over to the 4 hr puppies that were leaving. No empathy at all as i stand there in tears.
We went there to get my male 7 month old kitten fixed without spending a fortune. The receptionist was very helpful and advised me that it would be 110 plus tax if his testicles had dropped and 23 for the earmite treatment as i noticed he had them as well. He recovered very well. They called me when he was waking up to give me updates on how the surgery went and even lent me a cage to bring him home in as i didn't have one. Also, they waived the consultation fee as a first timer. Great job guys! Would definitely be spreading the word around about my experience :)
Excellent place to bring any sick pet. They provided amazing care. Staff very friendly and caring. It was an expensive experience but I have my cat home again. Thank you so much.
Words cannot express how gratefull i am!! Dear staff and doctors, the compassion you showed me is truely angelic! You went above and beyond to help my little beautifull cuddly tuxedo cat "baby" Thank you so very very much, you are all angels!! I appreciate you all for saving my favorite little buddy!
Was a good experience start to finish for a neutering. TRex was chill af and the staff there took great care of him. 10/10 would get another pet snipped there
Our 3 year old Shih Tzu Charlie needed emergency surgery. After the surgery was over, Dr. Penny M called and put our mind at ease. Since then, we’ve received several follow up phone calls to see how Charlie is doing. I can’t say enough good things about how caring Dr. Penny & the staff have been. They sympathize that he’s more than “just a pet”. He’s part of the family. Thank you Dr. Penny and everyone at the Riverview Animal Hospital.
Our dog Sunny was recently diagnosed with a CCL injury in his right hind leg. Having already had TTA surgery on his left hind leg in January 2017, we expected our regular vet to recommend the same surgery for the right one. Instead she told us that he was not a candidate for surgery because his arthritis was too advanced in the right leg. She recommended amputation of both hind legs or even worse, put him down because he would be in too much pain. Sunny is only 3 and half years old. Our family was not willing to accept her options, so opted to get a second opinion from Dr. Francis Arsenault at Riverview Animal Hospital. Thank God we did! Dr. Arsenault told us that Sunny's injury was operable and that he would be able to clean up most of the arthritis in his right leg, therefore improving his quality of life. He was very straight forward and explained in detail the TPLO procedure. We quickly decided to put our trust in him and his team and had the surgery done. We are now almost one month post surgery and Sunny is doing amazing. He has been putting weight on his right leg since two or three days after the surgery and has shown steady improvement ever since. My husband and I cannot say enough of the excellent care Sunny received while a patient at Riverview Animal Hospital. His team of care givers was amazing and gave us regular updates on his progress while he was there. They were so nice and made us feel like Sunny was a regular VIP. :) We will be forever grateful for what they did for Sunny. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. For those people debating between TTA and TPLO surgery, we would hands down recommend the TPLO surgery. Sunny's recovery has been 100 times easier and better with TPLO than with TTA. Thanks again Dr. Arsenault and your team for everything! Sincerely, Micheline and David Boudreau
We have been dealing with this dedicated group since Oliver, the basset hound came into our lives back in 2008 and we have never had a bad or even slightly negative experience! Oliver goes in every three weeks for a nail trim and they are always excited to see him. We recently had a mysterious allergic reaction and the team led by Dr. Moskovits were dilligent in their endeavours to track down the cause and treat the symptoms. We particularly like the broad range of specialties offered by the various vets. Dr. Arsenault our yearly go to guy for his annual check-up keeps a close eye on Oliver's joints given his breed. Great people all around My above comments above were posted 3 years ago and all our experiences with the hospital since then have been equally as positive. We recently had to say good bye to our lad and the staff helped us to make the very necessary decision. We weren't ready to say good bye but their skill and sensitivity helped us through it. He lives on in our hearts and minds. Terry Hatcher
I just feel like I didn't get the proper follow-ups after my dogs (very expensive) surgery. He is only 1 year old and can barely walk a block without limping. I feel like the surgery did absolutely nothing and I was only offered another very expensive surgery.
Great staff. Very helpful and caring.
24h care 7days a week!
We were travelling from Ontario with our Golden Retriever, Molly and needed to find a vet because it appeared that she had an eye infection. We contacted the Riverview Animal Hospital and they were absolutely wonderful! They were so kind and accomodating and made a stressful situation better for us and our girl. Thank you for acting so quickly and taking such good care of our girl.
I just wanted to share my experience with the Riverview Animal Hospital. I had to bring my very old cat (19 years old) on Tuesday evening because she wasn't feeling too good. Everybody, from the admin staff, technician and veterinarian were super nice, friendly and knowledgeable. They even called back today to make sure she was doing ok. Great customer service!
The staff is so caring. And the vet who treated my cat obviously is in it for her love of animals. I can't thank them enough for the care they gave my fur baby.
Love this place
Dr Gill Marsh your compassion and empathy was appreciated when I had to put down my 19 year old cat Gracie. The staff there is amazing as well.
Very Best!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Only go there as a last resort! Try calling around for same day appointments before bringing your pet here. Heres why. We called ahead and they told us to come in immediately and they would take her. Me and my husband left work to get our 5 month old puppy there, who was very unwell and acting strange. We get there at 10:30am. Went through triage at 10:45am. Then after about 2 hours of wait, we went to the front desk and asked if we had time to go get something to eat. (if only we knew, lol) She checked with the vet and she said we had time. So we went out and got something to eat. Then we come back in, and one of the workers asked one of us to leave, as it is their "policy" to only have one pet parent per pet. Quite odd since we were both sitting in the waiting room for two hours before going for lunch and no one bat an eye? Anywho. We decided to both go wait in the car. 6 hours later, still no call for us to go see the vet. We call the front desk and ask if they forgot about us, or if it'll be much longer. They tell us they can't give us a time frame because they had no clue how much longer it will be. So we tell them we will wait. We wait another 2 and a half hours before I lose my temper and call them asking if it'll be much longer or if we should bring her somewhere else. As soon as I mentioned leaving they FINALLY took us in to see the vet, only for a 5 minute check up. They did not run any tests whatsoever on our dog and just told us what they thought was wrong with her based on her symptoms. We waited 10 and a half hours, and missed a whole day of work for a 5 minute appointment with the vet. We will be bringing our business literally anywhere else than here next time.
Everyone who works here is so kind and passionate about their work. Absolutely the best vet I have been to and definitely will be back! They care so much about the people and clients.
very nice staff very concerned about your animal health and there wellbeing its more expensive than some other place but service is good i wish they would push more on natural medecin than chimical pills...
I went in today and everything was fine. Customer service was good, comfortable waiting area etc… but absolutely scorching hot. For such a large building, treating animals suffering with injuries/illness … you’d think they’d have AC. By the time I left, it was 29°c. My dog was whining in pain and discomfort already and this made it 10x worse. Not to mention I was drenched in sweat and have asthma. Disappointed. I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
Had a great experience at this place with my dog. After 2 knee surgeries she can be herself again (after a little rehab). Front clinic staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we really trusted our surgeon, Dr Caroline Runyon. Lots of peace of mind for us living out of town and being able to call to check on our dog and get quick, comforting information. I'd recommend this clinic and this surgeon in a heartbeat.
I was referred to Riverview Animal Hospital by my vet in Fredericton when my English Setter (Aspen) became suddenly ill and it became apparent she would require more medical intervention than could be provided here. We arrived at the clinic and very quickly the decision was made to do exploratory surgery based on the tests and ultrasound performed and she went immediately into surgery. A mass was found outside her intestine, and infection had spread through her body. There were 4 vets in the clinic that evening that conferred as to the best course of action. The mass was lanced and debrided as it could not be removed due to it's location, Aspen remained in the clinic for about a week, until a drain from her abdomen could be removed. I was invited to visit with her, help to get her eating, and I could call any time day or night to see how she was doing. Dr. Arsenault was terrific, as were all the hospital staff from the ladies on the front desk to the vet techs to the vets. I felt Aspen was in very good hands and would receive the best possible care that could be provided for her. The follow up has been amazing, from receiving calls as to the results on samples sent to the pathologist and to bacteriology, to inquire as to how she was recovering at home, tips to get her eating, and so on. I have felt truly supported throughout this ordeal. It is now almost 2 weeks since her surgery, and I just received another call from Dr.Arsenault to check to see how Aspen is doing. He is truly a very kind and caring vet. My experience with Riverview Animal Hospital has been very positive. Thank you so much for the compassion and care provided to Aspen.
Worst experience ever. Couldn't be more disappointed and angry and an establishment where we feel taken advantage of and that our pup was not cared about. Total money grab with lack of empethy towards animals in my personal opinion. Misdiagnosed, misinformed, no communication, laughed at us, scoffed at us. We feel like our pups health was not their priority but making a buck was by not informing us of ALL information. I do not mind spending good money on my kid (our pup) but charging for removal of hardware that they put in during surgery and not considering it post op care is ludacriss by trying to charge additional after they put this in our dog without telling us it would cost additional after we already signed for a surgery that cost thousands. If you have to go there, make sure you record and document everything properly and get all information up front because they in my opinion will just keep adding additional cost without your concent or knowledge.
My dog had her surgery here. The staff was very kind and helpful. The vet did a great job.
Amazing staff! Highly recommend
My boy had bladder problems and the ever was amazing with making sure she took the correct corse of action, and made me feel very comfortable to bring him back if anything arose. Dill says thank you
Very disappointed. A lack in diagnosis and wrong information. Rest and medication is all they had right this time. Said my dog must have injured a disc in his spine and I should sling him around his shoulder. 4 days later and a second opinion, he has damaged the nerves in his shoulder. Found with a basic neurological exam using hands only. So the misdiagnosed injury and advise to sling my dog possibly made things worse. I am so discouraged as a simple thorough neurological exam is all that was needed and not a 2500 dollar CT scan as my option for diagnosis and possible 5000 dollar surgery as treatment. Truth be told there is no treatment for his injury other than rest. He may regain some, all, or none of the mobility lost in his right front leg. We as humans have similar nerve junctions in our shoulders and guess what!? When we we tear or damage it bad enough there is no fix you lose use of that arm in severe cases. I get Riverview is a complete hospital and emergency center. They have lots of equipment and can offer care to animals others cannot. I feel that sometimes the staff loses themselves in all that ability and equipment the center can offer and overlook the basics.
Where do I begin! This place is awesome. I live in the Gaspésie, 8 jour drive from moncton. I have 2 pure boxers, one was diagnosed with a torn ACL. We immediately began searching for a surgeon to do the operation, since I live in the armpits of the world my options were Quebec City or Riverview. Not only was Riverview Animal Hospital cheaper than Quebec. But the staff was so much more helpful and friendly. Dr Arsenault ,Who I must add is amazing. Took the time on the phone to explain the operation and procedures. We then went decided to take the 8 hour drive to meet Dr Arsenault and have him examine our dog to make sure 100% that it was actually a torn acl. Since we were far from home, he come to work to meet us on his day off at 9pm to examine our dog, he confirmed that it was a torn ACL and scheduled the operation the following morning even though the schedule was booked. The healing process was a charm and I received multiple remarks from veterinarians in our area about how clean the stitching was. I make the drive once a year with both our boxers to have their annual checkup done. I only ever dealt with Dr Arsenault, ans dr rittwage. Both are flawless. Looking forward to seeing you again in August ????
Wonderful, kind staff.. vets are understanding, knowledgeable
Incredibly rude vet. We sent our cat for blood work and X-ray, we were told that the cat had something inside her stomach and at the time really couldn’t afford the bill that would possibly end up in $1000+ the vet could not tell us what was in the stomach so when we had to make a very difficult decision of laying our little girl to rest, the vet over the phone replied with “wow”. A few months later, we decided to adopt, they agency we decided on rejected our application because this hospital said that we “ euthanized a healthy cat”. I am still horrified by it, this vet absolutely had no idea how hard it was to make that decision. She was a part of our family, just like our child. Needless to say, we will never go back to this hospital ever and we will be sure to make everyone else know about our experience. Good Riddance.
Very caring,helpfuland offer bilingual service.
So pleasant to deal with vets. vet tech and staff.
Very nice people but they do charge for all test they do
Opened 24 hours very friendly staff that actually care
Very caring place . Understanding. Thoughtful.
We just got our dog in March and she hadn't been given any vaccines. Dr. Mercier was very good with her and even found an eye problem that luckily turned out to be minor. They are all very proffesional and caring. I am very happy taking my dog here for anything needed.
Our 7 year old dog, Keisha, broke her leg on September 5 and was treated and sent home September 9 with her leg in a cast and pain medication for a week. Her recall visit was scheduled for 2 weeks. At about 10 days we noticed a smell. Long story made short, we now have a 3 legged dog. Keisha developed pressure sores and an infection. Tuesday she had her leg amputated and she came home yesterday(29th). When we were discharged (after paying her bill in full) we were given medications and instructions for home care. At that time I told Kirsten that I would not wait 10 days for a recheck...had Dr. Arsenault seen her at 7 days, Keisha would still have a leg. I know Dr. Arsenault feels bad, but I am not happy with what happened. Today they called to see how she is doing and I wanted to make an appointment for 1 week. I got a snippy answer that 2 weeks is the normal wait time and she would not be seen before 2 weeks. Very unsatisfied with this. In contrast, COVERDALE VET, called yesterday to see how the surgery went and on Monday, prior to her surgery, they did an assessment of her leg with x-rays and rebandanged her leg under sedation, and I was shown graphic and horrendous pictures of what she was suffering with. They did this FREE OF CHARGE, AND SAID THEY WOULD SEE KEISHA ANYTIME. Had we been able to afford their price for the amputation, (We were given a $1500. Credit) would never had brought Keisha to Riverview Animal Hospital. We have had a horrible month and have had what was preventable and drastic treatment (AN AMPUTATION) for a broken leg. I am sorry Dr. Arsenault, your clinic let you down. I would hope Keisha's injury would serve as a teaching opportunity of the importance of seeing patients sooner rather than too late.
