I used to go here for all my pets but recently moved further into Ottawa so now its just my family dog whom lives with my parents that still sees the vets at this clinic. But, I have always been able to rely on them to explain everything in DETAIL to me so i can understand exactly what is going on with my pets and ALL the possible treatments/outcomes. It's very obvious the vets here CARE about the animals welfare rather than always suggesting the most extreme, costly procedures that wont always be the best option for the pet at hand.

Dr Vachon and her team of vets are amazing! And the vet techs here can't be beat. They are a wonderful group, and all so caring and so helpful. Very compassionate ladies. One of the best vet clinics I have ever had. I can't say enough good things about them. The clinic is also well appointed, and very clean. It is extremely organized and well-run. As I have 3 large dogs and a cat, I can say with experience that this clinic's team will always help smooth the way for you and your animals, in any way they can Highly recommend!

When my furry companion of 16+ years passed away, I had no choice but to bring her to this clinic location, as I was unable to travel to any another location at the time. Some years ago when another family pet passed away, we had an ink print stamp made from their foot at another location, so naturally, I thought the same service could of been EASILY done at this location. I was wrong. The receptionist was not very bilingual, she had a hard time understanding my questions and requests in english which made the experience of relinquishing my deceased furry family member over only harder, and when she couldn't understand my request to have a simple ink stamp made, she instead kept shoving the brochure for their non-associated cremation and memorial services they're partnered with, in my face. When I finally got it through to her, I wanted LA FONTAINE VET to make the damn ink print for me, not the other service (because I wanted the ink print before I left, not weeks later if possible), she informed me they could only do it if the "patient" was in a good position for it. (nice way of saying if your pet didn't pass all curled up before rigor mortis set in) which I understood. And then she said that the ink print would be provided with her remains and urn after the cremation service was finished (So I wouldn't receive the print until weeks later). I informed her, they would be able to get a good print from my animals back left foot. My animal passed inside her enclosed bed, with her back left foot sticking out of the entrance. I SAW IT in a perfect position before I gave her up... and yet I didn't receive any ink print weeks later... After she was cremated. Needless to say, I wont be returning to La Fontaine Vet anytime soon. The staff here need to work on their animal after-care/ grieving customer service. These aren't just animals. These are family members.

The best vetenary clinic in Rockland! The staff is super helpful and caring. Dr. Longtin did such an amazing job with my cats that I specifically asked for her the second year. She treats your pets with such care and knows what's best for them individually. One of my cats gets super nervous when we go to the vets and so hasn't had a decent check-up in 3 years. She was the first vetenarian to recommend we give him a sedative before bringing him in. It worked wonders!! She gives you a very descriptive explanation of how the visit went, what you can do to better your cats health and the pros and cons of procedures recommended by her. This is a little on the pricey side when it comes to Rockland vetenarians but well worth the price.

My father-in-law found an injured kitten and brought it to another vet who absolutely refused to even assess it without payment. Lafontaine not only rushed to assist the kitten as soon as he walked in with it (it was visibly injured and in distress), but they assessed the kitten and ultimately had to put the poor thing down without demanding payment for the treatment of a stray. That's more than I can say for the vet on Laurier. Outstanding demonstration of putting the needs of a helpless animal first, as any true vet should.

At a time when many vet clinics, including my usual clinic, are not allowing even one person to be with their pet when it is being put down, Lafontaine Clinic understands the importance of how hard it would be to just drop off your beloved animal. I am so grateful to them that I was with my dog to say good-bye. They were kind, compassionate and made me feel like I was a regular client. They didn't rush through the process and gave me the time I needed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there for any needs of my pets. *I got a card in the mail signed by everyone in the clinic and they included two ink nose prints and three paw prints. What a thoughtful gesture, I love the prints! ❤ Thank you so much!!

The technicians and vet were great! The diagnosis was accurate and all the available treatment options were provided to me (including cost comparisons) and were very transparent. They handled my cat very gently, esp. when taking blood & recommended starting with the least invasive treatment. They provided me with additional take home literature on the condition and on the different treatment options. A-1 care in my books.

Very dissapointed. They refused to refill a heart worm medication prescription without an appointment. Even though they couldn't provide an appointment until 1 month into the risk season. This is a 5 years running prescription that never lapsed.So much for putting the animal first.

The vet, Tina Longtin, and her team (sorry, didn't catch your names), immediately came to my car to assess the situation. They took him in, performed an exam, and proceeded with xrays (she was very thorough because he is a puppy and his joints have not yet grown completely so she decided to xray both legs to make sure everything was the same for both). After only 1 hour, she explained to my husband and I that nothing was broken but that like humans, he had probably sprained his leg or pulled a muscle. She explained in detail what to look for (neurology wise) and sent us on our way with meds for the pain. Dr. Longtin, when all the other urgent care hospitals all refused to see my dog one after another because his situation was not between life and death, you quickly became a ray of hope that I no longer believed it was possible to find in the world we are living in now. You and your team will always have my thanks and be sure, you will now have a new patient in your home on a regular basis. By the way, the patient is doing very well. Thank you for everything!
