I had a booking at 5, im there at 5 and theyre not ready yet, i waited 45 minutes and it was still not my turn, so i left. Like call your clients and tell them your running late. Such a waste of time. Plus theyre super expensive, consult is 90$ + whatever they need to do, it was gonna end up being 200$. Where i ended up going, it costed me like 60 total including medication and all.

I have had horrible experiences with others vets but when I came here with my puppy salvatore, the staff were simply amazing. They cared for my puppy like it was their own. They called the other vet I attended just to make sure they dont give a vaccine twice. They treated me with so much respect and every question or concern I had they talked me through it. I was not scared to leave my baby boy in their care, I 100% recommend this clinic.

I've never went inside, I took an appointment which was canceled 25min before my arrival, than I took another one for 10:15am but I waited in my car with my 2 cats till 10:45am, the young lady on the phone she sounded super nice and helpful but I had to take my business elsewhere

TERRIBLE experience at this vet clinic. My cat needed to see a vet on short notice so I booked an appointment at the Hôpital Vétérinaire Général MB. Everything about this visit was unpleasant and unprofessional. First, the reception area is very cluttered and the receptionnists were chatting amongst themselves. The appointment was 30 minutes late. The room we were sent to for the examination had a HOLE in the wall. Then, the technician assigned to take vitals had NO IDEA how to handle the cat. Obviously, Kitty was a little fidgety, but she wasn't even able to hold the cat in a way that would immobilize her while ensuring her safety. She wrongfully stated, after looking at the scale, that the cat was 12lbs...(the cat weighs something more like 16lbs!) and then she proceeded to take the cat's temperature TWICE because she wasn't able to do it properly once. The vet was in the room for a grand total of 4 minutes. He barely looked at the cat before stating that there was a risk that the mass she had on her face was cancer and that we would probably have to do a biopsy. He then spoke to himself out loud for a bit before saying : I'm going to get some antibiotics! and leaving the room. I asked the staff to handle Kitty gently as she has hip problems, and the vet just THREW her out of his arms toward the ground when he was done examining her. When the technician came to see us, she handed over a bottle of pills with a guilty look on her face, telling us the pills were pretty big and that I would probably have a hard time giving them to the cat. I paid for everything and left only to seek a second opinion at another vet.... Turns out Hôpital Vétérinaire Général MB misdiagnosed the mass, did not treat my pet with care AND sold me 150 mg pills (bigger than a cat can swallow) when the usual dose of this medication for cat's is 30 mg (tiny tiny pill). This place is a very expensive and offers TERRIBLE SERVICE. Do not take your sick animal here.

I was able to book an appointment quickly and everyone from the receptionist to the vet techs to (and especially) Dr. Lee were kind, caring, and patient with my tears and obsessive worry for my dog. Dr. Lee recommended 3 courses of action for me to choose from, from least to most aggressive. I went with the middle option which was to get diagnostics and start antibiotics just in case. The results came back quickly, and Dr. Lee called me promptly with the results and even sent me a copy of the lab report. The results showed that the growth was benign. I asked if they thought a repeat of the labs would be beneficial since there weren't a lot of cells to analyze and, instead of saying yes to another $400+, they said it shouldn't be necessary. That was nice, particularly since I made it very clear from the get go that I would spend whatever was needed.

(Translated) I could give Dr. Desjardins 5 stars, but I have to give 1 star to the senior veterinarian, Dr. Banon. My cat is old (15 years old) and has breathing problems. Dr. Banon insists that I administer medication to my cat with a pump, which my cat has refused to take for years, despite several attempts with different techniques. I fully understand that the pump is the ideal solution, but I am running out of resources at its refusal. Because of the deficient medication due to the refusal of the pump, my cat had a rupture of the lungs ... Dr. Desjardins had the intelligence to offer an alternative solution, cortisone injections which saved his life and extended its longevity by now 3 years. Dr. Banon is not comfortable with this solution because it is not 'ideal' and blames me for my failure with the pump and puts my cat's life at risk. Now, Dr. Banon is required in my appointments with the technician, despite an agreement with Dr. Desjardins, insults me, threatens me and has a violent verbal attitude. In addition to the stress of taking care of a sick cat, I experience a lot of stress in his presence. Finally, I have to find a new vet and I had to pay a fee of $ 25 to get my file and transfer to another clinic. Strongly discouraged. (Original) Je pourrais donner 5 étoiles à Dr. Desjardins, mais je dois donner 1 étoile au docteur vétérinaire principal, Dr. Banon. Mon chat est âgé (15ans) et a des problèmes respiratoires. Dr. Banon insiste pour que j'administre à mon chat des médicaments avec un pompe, ce que mon chat refuse de prendre depuis des années, malgré plusieurs essaies avec différentes techniques. Je comprends totalement que la pompe soit la solution idéale, mais je suis à cours de ressources devant son refus. À cause de la médication déficiente dû au refus de la pompe, mon chat a eu une rupture des poumons... Dr. Desjardins a eu l'intelligence d'offrir une solution alternative, des injections de cortisone qui lui ont sauvé la vie et prolongé sa longévité de maintenant 3 ans. Dr. Banon n'est pas confortable avec cette solution parce que ce n'est pas 'l'idéal' et me culpabilise pour mon échec avec la pompe et met la vie de mon chat a risque. Maintenant, Dr. Banon s'impose dans mes rendez-vous avec la technicienne, malgré une entente avec Dr. Desjardins, m'insultes, me fait des menaces et a une attitude verbale violente. En plus du stress de m'occuper d'un chat malade je vis énormément de stress en sa présence. Pour terminé, je dois trouver un nouveau vétérinaire et j'ai dû payé un frais de 25$ pour obtenir mon dossier et faire le transfert dans une autre clinique. Fortement déconseillé.

Our Cat was sick for couple of months with a tooth problem we didn't see growing inside his mouth :( 4 days ago it went worst, he was feeling terrible so much he couldn't eat nor drink, so we looked on GOOGLE to find the nearest & OPEN (covid) veterinarian in the west end of Montreal, we found only 1 place and it was MB General, since we are in NDG we didn't ask question we just left to get there as soon as possible. On arrival the ladies were very nice and polite, everything started on a good note but after the visit we were a little shock to find out nothing was actually done on our cat, they only looked at him and give us a lot of speculation going as far as our cat had some nerve damage without an x-ray or blood test to make a real diagnose, finally the conversation lead us further suggesting like a surgery of 1,300 $ up to 1,600 $ for them to look deeper into the problem and actually do something concrete for our poor cat. My husband was not too happy and decided to shop around during the night and found another veterinarian who was x 4 time cheaper and compassionate enough to take our cat at the last minute, overhaul we paid 600$ with x-ray, visit and blood test, +medications, THANK GOD we found that generous veterinarian !! I won't revealed where or who we're the competition that was so great with us but my sincere advice is; make sure you shop around before making any decisions like this. I know MD clinic is overcharging to pass on the gentrification of their neighborhood on to their costumers but it's not fair, I am sad I lost 400$ for cheap pain killer and some speculation which ended up with a more gruesome suggestion TO END MY CAT'S LIFE what a weird thing to suggest for only tooth problem ... ANYWAYS if you can afford them I am sure they are very professional, otherwise take your little money somewhere you can spend it with care ...

my husband and a friend of ours brought a cat in this morning because a car hit the poor thing......when they got into this HORRIBLE vet they wouldn't even LOOK or TOUCH the cat that had been hit by a car until they have someone to sign to make sure that they PAY... even if the owner hasn't been contacted yet..they will NOT help.... i thought being a doctor meant to help.. i guess when you're a vet at this horrible place MONEY is more important than to help a creature in need... disgusting. will tell EVERYONE. shame on you.. and shame on your practice. can i rate them a zero? argh. nasty nasty nasty!!! also... when i inquired a fews years back about something my dog needed.. they quoted me 4X the price that the animal health clinic did.. here i wanted to support a local business..(this was BEFORE i knew what a jerk the vet was!) and then i started going the animal health clinic.. and not only are they fantastic but they were reasonable in their pricing.. also.. when my furry baby got attacked by another dog.. they didn't charge me when i had to go in 5 times in one week.... i bet you anything this these crooks at the hopital veterinaire general MB would have found soooooo many ways to extort money from me in my vulnerable time! Waited over an hour to see for ear infection. Furthermore, they put the wrong information on the medication where I was giving my dog medication to the wrong ear. When I called 3 days after noticing no improvement, had to leave a message with no callback. I had to call again and then they checked and said it was mislabeled. No one apologized whatsoever... I wasted medication, money, and our time PLUS my poor dog suffered for more days. Would not recommend. Sorry.

Dr Banon is amazing! We have been going for as long as I can remember. We've taken our dog, and 7 cats, over the years and they always got the best of the best care. Sugar was once being eaten by maggots, the vet and vet tech worked so hard shaving her, disinfecting her, removing ever maggot caring for her, and investigating what could have caused it in such a short time. She lived another 7 years, to the grand old age of 19. When Grant a 3 month old kitten stopped eating after he was adopted, the vets tried everything, and told me "Do not worry, we are not going to let this kitten die, you've had a hard year with animals already!" The vet remembered that Leo of 14 years died of a genetic condition, and Sugar 19 died of old age in the 6 months prior. They are really very sweet and loving toward animals, its clean and safe, and they know their stuff!

Whoops, wrong shot to my dog. Expensive and focus on money. I use to go here because I lived nearby and they seem nice. However every check up always resulted in $400+ for routine check/shots/test. What really bothered me was when they were in a rush and gave my dog a shot BY MISTAKE, fortunately it was just a rabies shot (which I just got previously with them), but that shows the carelessness. And in the same visit, they tried to oversell me on her meds, but I challenged them on the quantity and they quickly retracted and gave me regular amount. A month later they called me to pay for a mistake on that visit. I nicely went to pay ($82 for a blood test) and asked to give me my dog's history and close my account. What a surprise that to print out my dog history costs $20... But if money and random shots are not your concern, the staff are nice. Data for your comparison: under 5kg dog Rabies: $25 Lepto (+ checkuo/parvovirus/distemper/parainfluenza) $130 4x plus blood test $82 fleas/tick meds ($120 for small dog for 6m duration) Generally 6+% price increase price each year

Banon and the entire Hopital Veterinaire General MB crew were there to take amazing care of him and support us every step of the way. We were incredibly lucky to get to this clinique back in August and I think we wouldn't have made it without your help, guys. At some point, it felt that this is a bit too much and we were about to give up, but you helped us get through this and Basyan is healthy and lively again! Thank you very much for this!!! P.S: We'll get back for Basyan's dental care sometime next year :) What we liked the most: clear instructions, straightforward explanations; thoughtful and caring approach of the entire team. What we liked the least: Nothing comes to mind!

So everyone loving it there seem to have big budgets and good experiences so good for you but that confirms that this vet is good when you have unlimited money. With is NOT the reality of everyone and still doesn't mean they should not have pet or don't love and care for their animals.

Caring, knowledgeable and all round wonderful staff! I had a very poorly 13 week old kitten with a very sick tummy. They were able to see us as an emergency and treated my furbaby, Chekov, with love and dignity. They were very good at communicating all the requirements for medications and took the time to show us how to administer it correctly rather than shove us out the door with a bunch of instructions. Chekov is already looking and feeling much better and is ready to infiltrate the yarn store! thank you all for taking such good care of him!

I’ve had many vets and moved many cities but i’ve never been charged from a vet to transfer a file over the new vet until General B. I can’t even have access to the file myself if I went to pick it up. I understand if they want to charge for the admin time and processing work - that’s fine - they’re trying to run a business- but the fact that I cannot pick it up myself without paying - for my own cats medical history? I find that too much after spending thousands of dollars on vet bills at the place. Not a great way to end.

When I moved to Montreal from the West Island I was upset I would have to leave my regular vet. Since moving I’ve still gone to my regular vet because I have a hard time trusting people. This past weekend we had to say goodbye rather unexpectedly to my baby girl nala. She starting showing worrying symptoms that worsened from one minute to the next so I had to rush her to the closest open clinic as this was at 8 pm. When I arrived the doctor came out and explained that she was actually meant to leave, but would take nala in to give her something to relax and referred us to other hospitals open in the area. When she took her in she realized the situation was a lot worse and we had to put her down. The doctor stayed until 9:45 that night, waiting, letting myself and my partner have our time with our beloved cat. The staff was empathetic, personable, respectful and have the very best intentions. After we said goodbye we went home to grieve and a couple days later received a hand written card, signed by the doctor as well as all the other staff present that night, as well as my nalas paw print. This gesture brought me to tears as they really went the extra mile and did everything to make us and nala feel comfortable. Thank you Dr lee and all the lovely women on staff the night of August 16th.

The only reason I’m giving this place two stars and not one is because overall the staff is very nice and helpful. My problem is with Dr. Banon (I think that’s his name) He’s extremely condescending and never lets you speak, it is very clear he only cares about money. My cat has had bladder problems for a while now, last week we brought him in (not to mention we had to wait 3hrs outside, I understand it’s covid but it seemed ridiculous to leave a sick cat in the heat for over an hour while we waited for an evaluation) it was clear my poor cat was in pain, and could barely urinate, knowing prior he had stones in his bladder since December that we’ve been trying to cure. In the same breath Dr Banon told me my cat was “a ticking time bomb” but we should wait at least a month to operate so he can loose some weight. Charged me 600$ and haven’t heard from him since. Luckily I had the wherewithal to call other vets to see if this was normal for such a clear emergency and ALL of them said no. I finally had the opportunity to meet with another vet (outside the city) three days later and she operated on him the SAME DAY. Needless to say my cat could have died if I had listened to Dr Banon. My cat is doing great now, without the help of Hôpital Vétérinaire General MB. Do not recommend.

I have had annual checkups (12 years now), vaccinations, lab tests, and surgery under their watchful and superior care. In the beginning, myself and my family were very careful in seeking out a veterinary facility to look after our new "baby" (our cat) when we got her as a kitten. We have been so pleased to have selected and remained with HVG-MB, our experiences have been good at each and every visit. We have been very pleased over the years. Now I must add since I have read some of the other reviews and must say to those who have complained, if these people complain about the cost of a blood test or other tests, how important is your pet to you?? I bet you leave a twenty dollar tip for an average meal and do not complain as much as you have posted here. You need to know that a pet is more than a plaything, they are "little people" who rely upon you for their care, in fact everything - and as such expenses for their care are a given. You indirectly pay here in Quebec for your own health care, after all medicare is supported BY YOUR taxes so you do not feel the pinch of payment when you get a blood test but it is there all the same. This same cost exists for pet care, so if you want to have a pet, suck it up and be an adult and quit whining about the cost of pet care. You chose to have a pet NOW accept the cost of having these wonderful little companions in your life. For those of you who felt they were treated roughly or rudely, I can say from personal experience, having sat in the waiting area and seen with my own eyes, quite often the rudeness is initiated by the person bringing their pet in (their concern is only justified since it is their pride and joy) BUT remember any hospital be it human or animal has the same concerns in treating everyone equally and all pets equally with fairness and impartiality due to the workload. Your hurt pride and feelings should be secondary to the care your pet receives. Bristling at the staff and then complaining afterwards is just an immature way of venting the way "you" were treated in reaction to your actions towards them. My daughters kitten nearly died because of their negligence. She was misdiagnosed twice and sent home the first time with nothing and the following day with only eye drops when in fact she had a high fever, severe dehydration and feline Viral Rhinotracheitis. (a very common cat ailment) They had to rush her to the emergency vet (DMV Lachine) were she was kept in hospital and treated properly for her sickness. Vet Hosp MB did zero tests on this very sick kitten even with her drooling profusely for two days (again a common symptom for Rhino) These people have no business treating animals, clearly they are incompetent or just don't care, I am not sure which is scarier. I wouldn't trust them with any of my beloved animals, and neither should you!

I've been to this vet since I adopted a cat from the street that I was feeding in my backyard. Marcel Banon and his staff are wonderful! It's the first time I feel that a vet cares about my animal and less about my money. They are always available to answer my questions and are extremely helpful in helping me take care of my cat (especially on a preventative level which means I save money). My cat almost needed an operation because he couldn't pee. They told me to try a certain food and taught me how to feed it to my Senfou! A week later he was fine and his flow started to normalize. Whenever I'm at the clinic they make me feel welcome, they offer me a delicious coffee; there's a real feeling of being part of the community when I'm there! Also, I've seen them help people in all sorts of different financial situations; the animal's well-being being the most important thing. I made the decision to write a review because when I was last there, there was a guy that came in for some pills for his pet without a prescription and he was extremely rude to the staff, acted entitled, and impatient ( he wouldn't wait two minutes for the vet to leave his existing appointment to sign off on the pills) He threatened to write a review (which he did and gave the clinic 1 and gave the clinic 1 ⭐️) and stormed off. I was sitting quietly in the corner trying to enjoy the coffee that Lindsay (a member of the staff that this guy unfairly screamed and spoke disrespectfully to). She handled it like a champ maintaining her composure and Her smile. I commended her for not engaging in an argument with this guy. Anyway, I strongly recommend that you stroll in one day, anytime and you'll see what I mean; they're wonderful and my cat likes them too.

Twice I ended up there because my regular vet was closed due to the holidays. First time, they made me wait 45 minutes for a 5 minutes consultation with the vet. Second time, they made me wait 30 minutes. During the second appointment, my dog was diagnosed with an eye condition that would cost me 1000$ for the surgery. The vet service is good, I don't have anything to say about it. However, DO NOT use their food subscription service. I had two deliveries so far and both went wrong. The first one was just too long to find my package, that's ok but boring. The second, they just don't have my package, the tracking is broken, and the girl at the register bluntly told me that "maybe I already took the package", implying both that I was trying to defraud them, and that they do not have a proper system to track who took it's package. Canceled the subscription on the spot, still furious about it. Hopefully my cat still has food otherwise I'd have been forced to buy her something else and get oveloaded with food !

We brought our cat to have a tooth checked and the vet and his assistant said the cat is too violent to be checked and we still got charged for the consultation and some medication without even looking into the root cause of the problem. I agree with a previous statement about the reputation of this place putting profit before the well being of the animals. Dr. Banon treats my dog (Robin) as well as my families other animals. I’ve been to multiple vets over the year and I’ve never experienced such an honest and caring vet. He really takes the time with each animal and gives clear and honest opinions followed by his recommended treatment and what I personally love is his preventative care. He always recommends to do things to prevent any future issues with my animals to ensure they have a long and healthy life. Vet care is all expensive, medical care is expensive which as Canadians, we don’t always see first hand. Dr. Banon has always been very fair with his prices and clearly explains the cost of everything. He’s always taken in my pets when they have been sick, even if it means staying longer, coming in earlier or squeezing us in between appointments because he genuinely cares about all of his patients. I did not have a good experience with this vet. I came to get my cat checked out because he has a cold and his eyes have been running. I waited 2 hours and 30 mins for the vet to speak to me for exactly 3 minutes. I spent more time speaking with one of the nurses explaining the symptoms. To make it even worse, when I attempted to ask a question, the vet rudely interrupted me by saying "I already told you everything, I don't have anything else to add". He prescribed appetite inducers which I received from the receptionist, with no plan of action should the medication not be helpful. The two stars are for the staff who were very nice to me but I will definitely be changing vets.

There isn't enough stars to give in the rating when you have that feeling your little guy was taken care of like their own child. :) My little Steamie (a Hot Dog / Dachshund) vomited a few times on a Friday so we called in the early evening and they confirmed an appointment within the hour. The vet was really good at explaining the various possible causes and solutions. Instead of recommending a bunch of tests and x-rays the vet suggested a simple shot to help with his nausea and to follow Steamie's progress over the weekend. The clinic called the next morning to see how he was doing (he was doing a little better but wasn't eating), so they suggested keeping an eye out and to follow up before the end of the day. They again followed up in the afternoon and he wasn't getting any better and was still rather lathargic (plus one minor case of diarrhoea), so they suggested we come in and they would have their technician have a lookover of Steamie, and if things seemed serious they would then call in the vet (on the weekend). We got there and the technician was amazing, she looked over Steamie and said he didn't seem to be in any danger and that instead of calling in the vet, she could simply give Steamie a saline injection (FREE OF CHARGE) to help with his hydration (he had lost some weight between visits). She was able to get the vet to prescribe antibiotics over the phone so all the was charged for the visit was the actual anti-biotics. they called back again on Sunday to follow up and see how Steamie was doing and if he was worse they would call the vet in. He was doing a bit better, so we decided to hold off. Sure enough Monday he was at 90% and we didn't even need to go in for a follow up. I cannot stress enough how my experience with Vet MB was the perfect balance of maximum care for my little buddy, while at the same time not being a price gauge. 2 visits to them, 3 consultations on the phone, some gastro dog food, a saline injection, a high quality anti nausea injection AND anti-biotics all for about the combined price of a single visit to the emergency clinic. Both Steamie and I thank Vet M.B. so much .. he's still finishing off the anti-biotics but is 100% back to his usual playful self! :)

I just passed this veterinary clinic while on a jog and I can see they had a pet for adoption and were not even asking for any money just a great home for the poor cat. I asked about the cat for a friend and the Dr himself did all the vaccines spay health checks and more all out of his own pocket I couldn’t believe it. I don’t have a pet but I stopped by and I am glad I did. When I do get a pet I will adopt to save a life and I will go to this vet who is kind and does care for animals so it seems. I went there as I had an urgent matter with my dog, it was my first visit but it won't be my last. Dr Lee is very knowledgeable and caring. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If you go there: 1. Prepare to wait. MINIMUM waiting time with scheduled appointment is 40 minutes. My dog was a patient there for 3 years. NOT EVEN ONCE we had our appointment at scheduled time. Usually it is 1.5 hours passed scheduled time we were able to see a doctor. Once we waited 2 hours outside under the rain because covid restrictions didn't allow us in and I came by taxi. The longest time I waited was 3.5 hours BEFORE they let us in. 2. No help when needed. For 3 year I went to this place .My dog was healthy so we just went for yearly check up and vaccines. Last Friday my dog got sick. We waited regular hour after our scheduled appointment time and my dog was taken in. After 20 minutes they bring the dog back and said that doctor will talk to me shortly. 20 minutes later doctor came to me (my sick dog had to undergo all this additional time of being stressed ) D: biopsy of lymph nobe is needed Me: sure! Whatever needs to be done should be done! D: dog needs to be sedated because she is aggressive (My dog NEVER aggressive. They always said she's a sweetheart) Me:... Sure.. my only concern- isn't it too much for her today? What do you think as a doctor? Should we do it now or reschedule it for the next day so the dog be less stressed. D: it is your dog you know her better, you decide. Me: we never been in the situation like this, I came here for advice, you seen many cases like it, what is better for her in your professional opinion? D: I can't make a decision for you Me: No need to decide for me, just explain what our options are D: Biopsy is better to do Me: sure! Let's do it! Doctor leaves. Another 20 minutes of waiting. She comes back but going to another client and starts talking with them. Explaining about tests she done for their dog and treatment she recommends.. Another 15 minutes. She comes to me. The people who said this vet cares only for money are delusional. This vet does the best he can and often goes above and beyond and follows the same pricing as all vets in Quebec. People who are angry to spend money on the care and health of their pets need to not have pets in the first place. Pets and money should never be mentioned together!! This vet is terrific.

Hi internets! I have a cat (named Fetty) who hates other people. She usually strikes out at anyone she can, EXCEPT for everyone at general MB for some reason! She actually gets excited to go in for checkups and vax at this place. At first, my wife ( Felecia) and I were weirded out upon hearing how everyone there "loved" Fetty, and chalked it up to professionalism on their part. However, after seeing the staff in action and the love they gave to Fetty I can honestly say that if they can win her over they deserve a 6th google star for the work they're doing there. I've always been happy with the service and irregardless of the location which is now a bit of a trek for me, it's worth going there. Truly is a home away from hoe m.

This is far and wide the best veterinary clinic in Montreal. The top priority of the veterinarian - and his staff - is the well being of your pet. Dr. Banon will go to great lengths to make sure that your pet is taken care of and will help you understand and make an appropriate plan to treat and prevent any illness that your pet may have. I have been going to this clinic since I first arrived in Montreal in 2011 and from my first interaction with Dr. Banon I knew that he was truly passionate about his job as a veterinarian and taking care of any animal that came into his clinic. My most recent interaction with this clinic was during a urinary blockage incident with my pet cat. Dr. Banon and his staff have gone above and beyond in treating my pet back to health and ensuring that I was involved in all aspects of the treatment process. Every day Dr. Banon would call or leave me a voicemail to give me an extensive update on my pet's health status as well as his plan for treatment moving forward. He never rushed his phone calls or consultations and made sure I understood everything that was happening and was happy to answer all my questions. When he was unavailable, his dedicated and well trained staff were able to answer all of my other questions and were sure to also make sure that any of my inquiries were also told to Dr. Banon the following day in which he would follow up and ensure whether the staff's responses were right (and they always were). Finally, with my pet's need to stay several nights at the hospital, the staff was extremely accommodating in allowing flexible hours for me to visit my pet. Dr. Banon encouraged visiting so that the pet knew that he was not being abandoned and has made this possible by offering flexible times and friendly staff that would fit in with my busy and often unusual schedule. By the change in mood from my pet from his initial visit to when he was able to come home I could tell just how well treated he was during his recovery. His positive response to all of the technicians and other staff speak's to my pet's trust to the individuals who were caring for him and his speedy recovery. I would highly recommend everybody to use Hopital Veterinaire General MB for any health issues they encounter with their pets.

I have price compared this clinic to the others in the city. This one charges at least 20 percent more than the rest. Not only that, but every time I take my pet there, they end up charging me over twice what they originally stated saying, "oh we have to run this test and this test"If you knew you had to run the test, then why lie and tell me that a checkup costs a certain amount, only to immediately charge me double? I have lived in 5 countries and this is the most expensive vet I've ever seen in all of them. Be warned, you will take your pet in for a check up and they will pressure you into buying the food they sell there. If you say no, they will make you feel like a bad pet owner. And when you go to pay, you will get a ridiculously high bill. Do yourself a favour, go to a vet outside the city. Yes, it's inconvenient, but even with travel costs, you will save money. If anyone doesn't believe me, simply call another clinic and price compare.

After getting a "covid puppy", we found it very difficult to find a vet that was willing to vaccinate our pup while the lockdown was in effect. We were so thankful that Dr. Banon was available and willing to see our Finn for an assessment and routine vaccinations. We found that he took the time to listen to our concerns and talked us through any issues we were having, which we so appreciated. We arrive for our appointments anticipating that we will have to wait - it's covid and on top of that, there are emergencies. This doesn't really bother us. I think this clinic is doing a great job considering the circumstances. The staff are always polite and apologetic for sometimes taking a while to get back to us. More than anything we are thankful that our pup received the care he needed!

I have been bringing my cat Wilson here for 5 years. In all this time, I have never been disappointed and can confidently say that Dr. Banon and Dr. Desjardins are both passionate about the health of their patients. They take the time to answer any questions I might have (I have many) and if for whatever reason they need to rush to another appointment, their veterinary technicians are equally as wonderful and attentive. I recently had to bring Wilson in for dental scaling. He unfortunately is prone to dental issues, so he required the surgery. I walked away paying a bill that is relative to a surgery. I was also recommended tests for my cat’s safety – which I agreed to as a precaution. At the end of the day, I am seeing comments about this clinic being money-driven – this has never been my experience here. Pet ownership requires a range of responsibilities, one of them being a monetary responsibility that can add up over time. It upsets me to read these negative reviews about this clinic, because I truly trust them wholeheartedly with the health and well-being of my pet.

With 30 years of experience, the Dr. is very qualified to help you with any questions. The health of your animal IS the priority and the staff always follows up with you after your appointment to make sure all is going well. The staff is very knowledgeable and always makes sure that you are well taking care of. Even when there are unexpected emergencies which can cause a bit of a wait (it is a hospital after all), they make sure to offer you coffee or water to accommodate you for the inconvenience. The customer service is great and i trust the Dr's opinion 100% with the health of my animal! There are 3 Vets working there, so you have the choice and they are all very nice. For anyone who appreciate a professional environment, i recommend this hospital.

Terrible experience today. I was shocked at the bill that I received for my kitten. I waited for almost two hours since my scheduled appointment for my sick kitten. Vet did not even consult me for what expensive procedure they did to my kitten without my consent. Ended up with a massive bill in the end. Excellent Vet!! I have used this vet many times and I cannot say enough about how wonderful he is! Dr. Banon is patient, understanding and compassionate when taking care of my pets. I have also witnessed his generosity and community service in helping stray and needy animals. Very bad customer service. Veterinarian was rude and looked angry. It even seemed as though he was talking down to the receptionist. I decided to just leave with my puppy. I've been to other clinics and the experiences were always pleasant even if the reasons I had to come in for were not. I would advise him to work on his social skills even if he is having a bad day because customers will quickly lose confidence. I would not recommend this clinic.

This place is very disorganized: the first time we brought our cat we had to wait an hour after our appointment time for them to finally take him in and in all it took them three hours for just vaccines. The second time we went it was for an appointment they had scheduled for us on a day they were closed. I will not be going again.
