I've been taking my family pets here for as long as I can remember. The staff are all terrific and Dr. Hobbs is the best! They aren't pushy with medication and will let you decide which treatments/ vaccinations your pet gets. I find that very important because some vets will just push a certain regiment on you and it can get very expensive (and possibly bad for your pet). We had to put down our old dog a few years ago and they were even kind enough to hold off our payment for a couple weeks to give us a chance to grieve. The location is beautifully renovated, the staff are very friendly and professional, and they'll always go above and beyond to make your pet feel safe! Can't imagine any reason I would go to any other vet!

Get quotes. Sent dog in for routine shots came out with a $600 bill. $250 of which was for flea and tic gaurd valued normally at ~$50 Asked for a quote for fixing a cat, they never got back to us on the quote and day of the appointment quoted $200, $130 over LCHS prices. One vet in the team is a product/med pusher. Like aggressive pushing. Quote "would not trust a store that doesn't sell Royal Canine"

Hartzel has been my vet for years. Cats and Dogs, they always have the right staff to make them calm and take care of them. One of my dogs has some anxiety issues, and the team here is able to keep him super calm when they look at him. My cat? Well, she doesn't care about anything anyway...so she's good.

My partner and I sadly have to let our dog go so we called Hartzel to see if they could find some time for a special request due to a lot of vets being busy/closed so they were unable to answer their phones. My partner called and explained the situation and the receptionist said in a very unprofessional tone “I’m sorry but I have to cut you off, we’re not taking time from our valuable customers” and then hung up. We understand that it’s hard due to higher numbers of patients but to say that was super disrespectful and downright appalling especially with it being such a touchy topic. Would not recommend due to that experience.

Amazing people, each and everyone of them. I have been going to Hartzel Animal Hospital for over 17 yrs. while they cared for all my babies. When my Molson was in serious and immediate need of a doctor, they took him asap and attended to his individual needs. They are patient, caring, accommodating, understanding and so very much more. Every animal is treated as though it were their own baby. Have you ever had a vet get down on the floor and sit at your babies level to help them feel relaxed? It happens there. How about having a techician come outside to give your over selust fur baby his needles just so he doesn't scare the smaller more timid babies inside? Well it happens there. OMG he becomes a large, bouncing bundle of excitement when its time to go to the vets. He just loves them all...and he tells them his stories with all his noise and they never tell him to be quiet. lol And for anyone who may have to say goodbye to a beloved fur baby, as I had to some yrs. ago...they were compassionate and made my Chevy not feel afraid, and helped me feel that it was time, while the whole family stayed with him from beginning to end. Amazing people. Update: Had to say goodbye to my beloved Friend (Mosaic) and furbaby of 19 yrs this past Mar 5. Dr. Puja couldnt have been more compassionate and understanding when it came to delivering the bad news and then helping me through what was a heart wrenching decision. Big applause for a beautiful bedside manor for Dr. Puja. Many thanks.

I went with my husband to take our dog to the vet to get checked out for a growth on her stomach . when they checked her out they phoned and said she would need to be on oxygen during the surgery and based on her age she "might" not make it and it would cost us 2 grand just to have this done its a non cancerous growth . but the fact that they said that she may not survive the surgery had me in TEARS all the way home . very unprofessional this dog means more then you will ever understand .

Visiting from out of town and brought my Boxer in for an examination on his eye. I was told that no problems could be seen visually but that she would prescribe an antibiotic with steroid as a precaution. I put these drops in his eye 3x per day for 10 days. Since treatment his eye has not healed and we ended up taking him to his regular vet once we returned home to find out that he has an ulcer and what was prescribed is the worst thing to put on an ulcer, to the point where he may need a surgical procedure if the new course of action doesn't work. I called to inform Hartzel and the vet basically blamed us without actually saying the words. She danced around it trying to imply that he probably did this to himself after the fact. She did not offer us any type of refund. Only a ''no-charge recheck" if we're ever back in town. I'm curious to know why that seems like the right thing to do? A no-charge recheck when he's being seen and treated by a superior veterinarian makes no sense to me and I think it's very bad customer service to put the blame on us. NOTE: there is a simple dye test that can be performed to identify scratches or ulcers on the eye and this was not even offered to us...my poor dog has been suffering for WEEKS now because of this.

I cannot reccommend this place enough. The staff are incredible and they do everything they can to accommodate your schedule - they’re even open Saturdays. I have had the pleasure of seeing every vet in this office and can comfortably say that they are all amazing. They take the time here in every way. They never rush you during appointments and they’ll often call and follow up with certain issues. I feel like my business is important to them. Seriously, if you’re looking for an HONEST vet office with heart and service. Go here. They’re truly amazing.

It's your average veterinarian office. I've been to a few, and this office seems to be on par with the others. If you've ever set foot in a vets office, this looks just like that office. :) My only real complaint is that they tend to tack on at least one hidden expense per visit. Example : So if you're quoted a price for the visit itself, plus a fecal exam over the phone, you have a pretty good idea of what you'll be spending. But when you get there, the vet(s) will examine your cat & typically end up upselling other tests/exams. It's a bit of a deceptive practice IMHO. Whenever I go, I make sure I have at least $100 more than what they quoted me. The doctor that I dealt with was very knowledgeable, friendly & she was very patient with my cat. I could choose to find another vet, but I'm happy with the staff at this office.

I have been taking my small dog here for 9 years now. I find the vets friendly, personable and good with my pet. They send me friendly reminders when my dog is due for his annual shots and keep accurate records on the computer. They always give you a copy of the bill which states dates in the future too when shots are due. Sometimes the waiting room can be crowded. The odd time I have found the Counter staff to be abrupt and brisk....not sure what their problem is....this is overshadowed by the excellent care of the vet for my pet.

brought my puppy in for his third set of shots (boosters) and a look over. during covid I sat in the car and waiting my dog was in the clinic for less then 10 minutes and was charged 85 dollars for a checkup . all that was marked down on the report card was lively.. a puppy lively I could have told you that. I expected more from them.
