We've been going to Court as long as we've had pets. When putting down our cats, Julia, Sarah and Tiffany were amazing, and made a horrible experience slightly less so, by showing the compassion and emotion they did. Our pets get better care here, than we do ourselves. They don't try to push stuff on you, that is just a money grab, and they take time to explain things in detail.

As far as I am concerned, this vet is an angel, or even better a SAINT!! I rescued a Mother feral cat, and no other vet was able to help us out. Everyone understandably are swamped. I called Court Animal hospital and they were not only kind and understanding but called me back right away to tell me that Dr. Julia would be able to spay this little girl Monday, only two days after I called. When I brought (Grace) on Monday, the vet was kind enough to come out into the parking lot to explain some things to me. She will be my go to vet, if our vet is away or retires. I have been a client of Court Animal hospital for about 20 years. Dr Julia and her staff truly care about your pets. She is knowledgeable and will tell you what the issue is with options. On this visit I was concerned that there might be a parasite on my dog's back. She was quick to advise it was ingrown hair. She cleaned it, put cream on it and I was out the door with a small amount of ointment to help with healing.

My first hand experience with dr. Julia was very traumatic for both me and my dog. My dog is a rescue and when i first adopted her, she had major anxiety issues , especially with new people. You can imagine that would be hightened when going to a vet. Dr Julia did not spend anytime properly approaching my dog , and when my dog bared her teeth , dr Julia began giving me a lecture on how i need to train my dog properly. This was very upsetting because i was looking for a compassionate approach to a rescue dog who has severe anxiety . Since then I've had another amazing vet (hartzel animal hospital) work with my dog and where she is at. I've also heard first hand stories from friends in dr. Julia's approach to fearful dogs, and she makes people feel awful for not being able to control their dogs' behavior . If there is any consulation, the staff at the hospital are amazing !

I'm editing my 2 year old review from 5 starts to 1 since I've had a change of heart due to Sonny, our family cat passing away just under 2 years ago and have been debating doing this for a while, but I feel its in this clinics as well as future pet / companion animal owners best honest interest. Sonny was roughly 13-15 or more years old as we took him in from our neighborhood as a stray and didnt know his exact age, he had major health issues at first one being FIV+ but with the right medications he recovered form a bad kidney infection... this was back in 2007. Now going ahead to June of 2017 he was not using his litter box as frequently, so we brought him to Court Animal Hospital, Dr Murray did what they could and put him on certain medications for passing stools easier and what not to help him with supposed constipation, 2 weeks passed and he was not getting better but seemed to be gaining weight, so we wanted a second opinion and brought Sonny to the Dog and Cat Clinic of Niagara and Dr. Aziz gave us a prognosis which we were dreadfully expecting, though we were glad that Sonny wasnt going to suffer anymore. It was 2-3 week that Sonny was seeing Dr Murray and suffering during that time as we told them that we noticed a hardness in his abdominal area which was fluid build up... Dr Murray right out denied this and didnt bother to check for what we asked, she said that he should go "naturally"... we thought that was cruel, this was also due to their outdated x-ray machine and honestly who knows what other medical equipment (2017 at the time) because the x-rays taken at the Dog ad Cat Clinic clearly made clearer images which you could see the fluid and such. I cannot recommend going here as we no longer do because of the neglect which they showed towards Sonny. So please, keep in mind to always get at LEAST 2 opinions from other local reputable veterinary clinics and ask as many questions as you feel are necessary as it might just save your companion animals life!

This is the best vet in St. Catharines in my opinion. After taking my car Louie to the martindale animal clinic and then telling me he had herpe of the eye and several different medications and a lot of money later I wanted a second opinion. I took him here and after taking one look told me he needed surgery to correct his eye because his waterline was pointed inward causing irritation. I didn't have the money and they did the procedure free of charge and only charged me for the medications. This vet truly cares about animals and will not see them suffer. She will work with you to figure out the best option. Can't say enough wonderful things about this clinic.

Not happy at all! Those so called "Vets" should behave and act like professionals. I took my cat there because he was very sick and they didn't want to attend him because he was being defensive, My cat was rescued from a family who mistreat him and that's why he has a hard time meeting new people. After I left they told me to "never bring him here again", completely unnecessary and disrespectful. Thank god i was able to find a better vet who understood and took care of my cat.

My regular vet is closed today so I called Court Animal Hospital and asked if there was any option of getting an appointment at any point today just to check out a puppy that I suspect might have a cleft palate. Asked if I could pay for an appointment and purchase a tube and have them teach me how to properly use it. Dr. Julia then came on the phone and was completely ignorant and rude and asked me why I thought I couldn’t just wait to get into my vet at a later date. I explained I was trying to avoid a trip to the emergency clinic and would rather be safe and have a professional look at her rather then be sorry. When she questioned my judgement and worry I told her to forget it and hung up. I have never dealt with a less professional vet and someone who didn’t want to help an animal.

Note: This was originally posted end of February but I just did an update so the date has changed. Dr. Julia Murray is amazing! She fixed my baby Luna up with antibiotics and then she has to have dental surgery on March 3rd. I feel so bad for her. I've been bawlling ever since Dr Julia gave me the prognosis because as she said cats don't let you know that they're in pain and she's obviously been in great pain because she has abscess molars so the antibiotic will help with the pain and I guess the pus and then she's going to loose her back molars, I think she said both sides. Update: Luna is doing fantastic! She is back to her old kitten-like antics even though she just turned 9 years old ???? She is back to being playful with her sister and snuggly snuggly snuggly with me and her sister. That's why I nicknamed her snuggle butt many years ago ????

I can't say enough good things about my recent experience with Dr.Julia and her team at Court Animal Hospital. I had my dog neutered and throughout the whole experience they were very helpful, informative, and accommodating to my budget. They explained each part of the bill beforehand and what was essential vs recommended and why. Not to mention above all else, they treated my dog like part of their family too. I was given the option to stay before and after his operation and it helped his recovery so much not waking up anxious and alone. They offer excellent support for post op as well. They are truly superstars! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!!

My cat had been throwing up everything she ate for a whole day. I bring her in. Dr. Julia says it could be a few things all depends on how much money I want to spend. Really!! I go to a vet for a professional opinion. Like what is it more likely to be? I had my cat treated for the immediate symptoms and that it was most likely worms. As she was examining my cat she kept looking at her assistant with these judgy eyes and not telling me what was transpiring between them. My cat was treated with revolution also. Her assistant put it in a location where my cat could clearly reach it. I brought her home and she was foaming at the mouth x2. I managed to get a cat sweater on her so she had no access to the location. Freaked me right out, I thought I was going to die. Anyway the assistant told me about the sweater but this should never had happened in the first place.

What vet gives you her personal cell number if something happens to our animals. When I lost Buddy a few months ago and it was time to say goodbye, everyone in the office I know felt my pain. Seems to always be very very rude ladies that work here. Any time I have called or walked in the ladies are very rude and always surrounded by their own opinions. It is not welcoming , and the older ladies that just smoke out back all day are sour sour ladies. I was told to go around back with my pet carrier to the back door for pick up , I was surrounded by disgusting cigarette smoke in a urine filled alley way. No where to park, was a very unwelcoming situation. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Very unprofessional and rude.

Dr Julia has been my vet for a few years. On Friday I had to bring my dog to her on an emergency basis. They took her right away. Sadly enough my sweet Molly had to be euthanized. They were great to my cat! She can be very anxious in new settings and is formerly feral, so I was really worried about how the appointment might go. The staff let me sit with her in a private room until the vet was ready for us, and they made sure that she was as comfortable as possible throughout the appointment. Prices for the appointment and any medications were very reasonable. If I weren't moving out of the province, I would definitely go here again!

We are taking our dogs here for preparation to import them to New Zealand. The process is extremely convoluted and requires SO many legal issues, red tape and requirements. Court Animal Hospital have taken time to research everything required to ensure our babies arrive in New Zealand and pass quarantine safely. Dr Julia Murray and the technicians, Tiffany and Sarah, not only treat our dogs with care and love, but they are knowledgeable and do everything in their power to ensure this process is as easy and clean cut as possible for us. Even the receptionists are extremely friendly and are taking such good care of our babies and us. I can not recommend this animal hospital enough.
