Changing veterinarians is harder than changing doctors. But Dr. Kojic, Cindy, and Erica at Upper Ottawa Animal Hospital made it incredibly easy and most importantly, successfully gained my trust in their skill, opinion and advice quickly. I have two dogs and one cat, Bruce, Robbie and Stewart. I made my decision to switch vets when it was heart worm time. Very soon after our first visit both of my dogs presented serious medical issues. Dr.Kojic and his team have been great to work with in diagnosing and treating the problems. It is clear that they genuinely care for my “guys”. They are patient, practical, friendly, and efficient yet thorough. The office is very clean and well kept. Accessibility and parking are great. I would not bring an exotic here. Among other things the vet did not know the proper amount of each food type a rabbit needs. He was condescending, refuted my research (referencing only veterinary sources - primarily in the UK where the most house rabbits live and the most research is done into how to have them thrive). The vet was not gentle with my animal either and he was terrified during the examination. This was an isolated incident as my rabbit is normally calm, outgoing and exceedingly friendly. At my current vet, he was relaxed during the examination and cuddled up to the vet instantly. Animals read body language and respond to your emotional state. The impatience felt in that room caused my rabbit to panic.

I just got back from taking my rabbit here and I had to leave a review of how wonderful this place is. They took great care of my bun and gave him the treatment he needed. My car decided to stall outside of their practice and the vet himself came outside to see if we were ok. He offered us coffee and chocolate whole we waited and made sure we were comfortable while we waited for assistance. I will be using this vet for all of my animals in the future and I will be recommending this vet to everyone! Thank you again for all of your help and kindness.

I do not think it is okay to tell clients to return their puppies to the breeder when there are no issues other than a underbite (I was aware at time of purchase and puppy has pedigree from Canadian Kennel Club). I do think educating and informing clients of conditions is fine - it should be the decision of the client what they want to do with that information without bias. The visit felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable as well, as if I was being scolded and felt my perceived age may have played a factor in the vet's interaction because I look young. It was really nice for the vet to offer the second visit free of charge and he gave me pamphlets to look at pet insurances. A second opinion from another vet was the opposite, as there was no pain or issues from the underbite and did not see a need to refer my dog to the vet dentist like this vet did. He is older now with no issues with his bite and he is a very healthy dog.

Our lop was sick, so we took her to see Dr. Kojic and his team. He quickly identified the problem, explained his recommended course of action, and provided instructions on how to care for her. She got an IV and some injections to stabilize her, then we brought her home. Kelly handled our bunny carefully. It was easy to see that she was very comfortable with rabbits and knew how to work with them. We had two follow up appointments and they called us twice on separate occasions to follow up and check on her. We are so grateful to Dr Kojic, Kelly and Kirstin for their help, they saved our bunny's life and helped us feel assured every step of the way. The cost was very fair considering the quality of care and level of service provided. I highly recommend Dr Kojic to anyone in the Hamilton area who needs help for their bunnies.

We called several vet offices to find one who saw guinea pigs. This place is the place to go to for guinea pig visits! They were able to fit us in with only a 24 hour wait, gave our little George a full exam and tended his little issue. We got to speak directly to the vet who oversaw George’s care. Friendly staff who listened to all details of George’s home care and the situation we wanted checked by the vet. Quite reasonable for fees also. They also booked a phone call appointment for a month from now to follow up and make sure George is still doing well. Hopefully we won’t need to take George or his brother Fred back to see them but if we need a guinea pig vet again, we will definitely come back here! Thank you for taking such good care of George!

Dr. Kojic and his staff provide professional, compassionate and friendly veterinary care for our family pets. Dr. Kojic goes above and beyond by providing counseling, education and numerous value-added services (i.e.puppy health - calculate exactly how much to feed based on the brand of food you're using, the breed, age, weight etc...). Also noteworthy is that, given we almost always ask for the last appointment of the day, we've never felt like Dr. Kojic or his staff were pushing us out the door - quite the opposite, in fact.

I have been coming to this vet for over two years now. He goes above and beyond for my little Sasha (ferret). The office is very clean, and I am a Registered Nurse so I know the importance of cleanliness in medical areas. He will take an evidence based approach to care, always researching the best methods, options and treatments of care. He is openly honest explaining the pros and cons of each treatment. Not only that, he always responds in a quick and timely manner. He is very gentle with my baby. If it wasn't for his knowledge and expertise of care my fur baby would no longer be with us. Like I mentioned before, I am a Registered Nurse and I also do my own research and I can be very picky and observant. I would never take Sasha to any other vet! My dog Mickey was brutally attacked by a pitbull while walking with my husband and 5 yr old son. To say it was a traumatic situation would be a complete understatement.Although arriving in the worst emotional condition and shock they took fantastic care of him immediately. This team is the best that could have happened out of the worst situation...I would, and do highly recommend them. They saved my family member's life and for that I will be eternally grateful! Just a small hospital. The vet is a strong man that knows animals wells. He knew that you can tell by 8 wks whether a dog has testicles or not. He said that if theyre not there its a birth defect obviously which is what i wanted to hear. I bought my dog from a CKC REGISTERED breeder and i will tell u it means absolutely nothing. Its like being common law for 20 yrs then just getting married so your apouse officially can get your benefits. They do everything for the breeder nothing for the buyer. And if you are promised any guarantee for the animal for the first 2 yrs they dont abide by what they say. They will blame you for any issues that happen to the dog even if you have proof from multiple vets. I really liked this vet, hes straight to the point wants you to get all your questions out and he gives you all the answers he can if not will look into it and call you. Mostly is for prices for procedures you want done. Definitely going back

I normally don't write reviews, but now that we are animal owners, I find that I depend on reviews a lot. I waited to write this review until we had seen the vet 4 times, to ensure that all experiences were positive. I can definitely say that we have been very happy with Dr. Kojic and Janine. Dr. Kojic is very loving towards our pup. Even though our pup gets a little crazy when on the table, Dr. Kojic deals with him so well. You can tell that he wants the animals to stay healthy and live long and happy lives. Janine has also been fantastic. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she is also an animal lover. It is so scary trusting people to take care of your fur babies, but we are very happy with our choice. I have recommended them to many friends and will continue to do so. I agree with other posters on here, there is no pressure to switch to the food they sell or add additional vaccines that you may not need. The prices are reasonable and the establishment is very clean.

I got revolution vaccine for my Mastiff here. He died from lyme disease or some kind of "flea/tick" blood disease 6-8 months after being bit by a black legged deer tick. He was 3 years old. Another vet just told me not to get revolution because it doesn't cover black legged deer ticks!!! Wish someone told me this sooner. There is a strong lack of intelligence at most Hamilton vet clinics.

I can't say enough good things about this vet office. They treated our sick senior dog with a lot of compassion, even when he was a miserable and snarly patient. We had wanted to avoid surgery because of our dog's age (he's 16), so they deployed all the medical options available for us. The fees were very fair and the treatment was beyond diligent. In the end, our guy did not respond to meds as we hoped, so surgical treatment was recommended. Dr. Kojic, Janine the entire team provided wonderful pre and post-surgical care, and our dog is now back to his (old) happy self. :-)

I had to take my beautiful fur baby to see the vet. Raven is my cat. He needed to have a week of medicine to relax him, so the vet could put him under and administer immunization shots, and do a full examination on Raven. Raven does not like going to the office at all. They took very good care of him and it was a successful visit. The Animal Hospital staff are all very wonderful, caring people. ????????

The vet made me pay for a bunch of tests for my dogs skin condition and gave me a cream that was super expensive that was completely wrong for my dogs condition, nearly cost me an arm and a leg for. I found out from a pet store! What was wrong with his skin, seems like they knew a lot more information just from previous experiences with customers then the vet does.
