lovely experience, amazing staff. i was worried a little bit, because my dog is not too much friendly with strangers, but my fear gone from the moment the the two nice ladies deal with Cello (my dog). they took him and immediately they Secure him and give him relaxation. Also, i was surprised that my dog walk with them inside the clinic without going back. Moreover, I felt relief when the vet called me and started asking me questions about “Cello” when we still waiting in the curbside. I knew then that my dog well be in a good hands. one last thing, the prices were very fair. Thanks so much to all staff at Mountain Animal Hospital.

I have gone to multiple vets for my cat's issues with constipation. This was the first one that listened and did other tests and xrays to see what was going on. It was also discussed if we do it all at once or spread out. The vet (I know he told me his name but I was trying to absorb the information I was being given. I know it was not Dr. McKenzie for the initial appointment.) was fantastic. He told me what was going to be done, and gave me options. I'm hoping we can finally figure out what is going on with my cat and get him the best treatment.

Wen there in winter 2015 with my new puppy. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, GREAT with the pup, seemed to really care about hum, and gave me a lot of info on optional vaccines WITHOUT pushing me to get them to line their own pockets. Stayed past closing hours to chat with staff - so so friendly.

Took my 9 week old chihuahua there to see the best route for fleas... He didn't know what was best for the dog and ended up calling the supplier and asking if it would work. (Think about how companies want to make money and would most likely tell people lies to make a quick buck on the expense of other people) The company proceeds to tell him the 3-5lb dog flea treatment was good for my puppy. Almost within 6-8 hours my puppy had started vomiting, diahhrea and ended up getting very very sick. I had to end up taking him to an animal hospital and get charged a whole lot more than any flea treatment on the market. (Even if you multiply that number by 10) FORTUNATELY all that had happened was because of the treatment being too strong for such a small dog, he was very mildly poisoned. There's an article dating back to 2010 stating the flea treatment the vet used is known to poison dogs, in some cases causing death. IF I HAD NOT NOTICED THE SYMPTOMS AND HAD BEEN OVERLY ANXIOUS AND GOOGLED EVERYTHING THERE IS A DECENT CHANCE THIS VET COULD HAVE KILLED MY DOG (they're small, if they lose sugar and body heat it won't take long for them to start shutting down) I kept close watch on him for 48 hours, couldn't sleep and couldn't eat because of how worrysome I was. From my experience with this veterinary clinic, I wouldn't bring a small dog there. Just because the one guy vet just doesn't know how to deal with them (can't even get rid of fleas on them) I can't say much about other sizes or breeds or animals all together. Do your research before going to vets

My Cat had to get neutered here a few years ago and they advertised 24 hours care which is a lie. When I picked up my cat she had cuts and bruises along her face, was disheveled and scared! Looks like she may have been terrified and marks were from the cage (trying to escape as cuts and bruises were right by both sides of nose and eye). This excuse of an 'animal hospital' had NO explanations for me even though he was supposedly in their hands all night. I am beyond upset that I put my cat through this by trusting he was in good care at the Mountain Animal Hospital - but they only ever showed concern before they got their $ - disgusting establishment

I had a vet emergency and had never been to this clinic before. Staff were so lovely on the phone, they saw my two cats within two hours of phoning in and they were very kind, gentle and thorough during their check up.

A++ Highly recommend! Dr. Hanna Laidlaw was confident and knew how to deal with my dogs eye ulcer with debridement techniques. The original Hamilton Vet (Stonechurch and Upper Paradise) issued 3 different eye drops. When that didn't work, he immediately referred to a eye specialist in London with a projected cost of $1,500-3,000. Consultation alone for this specialist was $320! Dr. Hanna Laidlaw fixed the issue with one eye debridement, a simple enough procedure, that many veterinarians don't have the knowledge and skills to perform. Was able to cancel the London specialist appointment after eye fully healed 3 days later.

The vet was awful to me telling me that it was animal abuse because I didn't want to pay $657 for getting tubes shoved up my cats rear for being constipated. Took the $5 route and went to shoppers to get an animal friendly laxative for him and he's happier then ever now. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The vets here are very unprofessional. They led me to believe that Lepto vaccine is something that my dog should be given yearly.My dog had a terrible reaction to it - listless and in extreme pain 1.5H after the shot. I did my own research on it and found that many publications said that it should only be given to animals who are outdoors in watery areas OFTEN. We rarely go into the woods and my dog hates getting wet - won't go for a walk if its drizzly, walks around sprinkler spray, struggles in a bath. The lepto vaccine is known to have THE HIGHEST rate of bad reactions which can include DEATH. It is also KNOWN to protect animals for MAYBE a year, 2 WEEKS or NOT AT ALL. I confronted them about these facts and the female vet said that its important to have because lepto can be transmitted to humans too. I did my research - it is SO UNLIKELY for that to happen. I would have to be peed on a regular basis by my dog IF he had it which is also UNLIKELY. I wish they had told me the risks and benefits of the vaccine and told me that it was NOT A CORE VACCINE before treatment. I would not have paid them SO much money for something that was more likely to hurt my dog than help him. More recently I had to take my dog to emergency because it was a Sunday and he had diarrhea with a little blood in it and was in pain. The emergency clinic has a list of local vets who will give a complimentary check up 48H after an emergency visit - Mountain was on it. I called them regarding it (since they have his medical history and are the closest) and was told that since he hasn't been seen in a year - he will not look at my dog because he hasn't been given any money during that year and doesn't want to honor the complimentary visit. He then went on to complain how he stays past his NOON hour end time to talk to clients (I am talking to him around 10am) and he doesn't like talking to them because there is no money involved for him. Then he complained that he doesn't know why vets are not as respected as lawyers and should bill like them. I have no sympathy for him - if he doesn't want to talk or stay later he does have the CHOICE not to do so or to figure out a way to charge for it - and not inappropriately complain to me about his "problems" in a bitter, poor me, "how dare you ask me about something complimentary my clinic is involved in which I don't like". My dog has something going on with him right now that needs more tests and diagnostics - I will be taking him somewhere with much better professionalism and hopefully practise - This guy doesn't deserve my hard earned money.

Dr Mogaviro is hands down the most knowledgeable and caring vet I have ever had the pleasure of working with. After 9 years of my dog being misdiagnosed and mistreated for a collapsed trachea he has gone above and beyond for her! He has spent his own time listening to me over the phone and changing her medications previous vets had prescribed her. For the first time in YEARS my dog is breathing comfortably. He has given advice and shared his ideas for my dog over the phone where most vets would have me come in and charge me a visitation fee each time. If I could give 10 stars for him, I would!! Thank you Dr. M !!

The service was professional and caring. They really went above and beyond to provide great care and follow up. I left the clinic after one year. The vet there is still in ,my opinion , an excellent vet. However, the receptionist / costumer service is horrible, Use At Your Own Risk. Had a disagreement with the receptionist she elevated it, lied about it , then when I went to another clinic she even wrote misleading statements on the file to make me look bad to other veterinary hospitals. So warning to others. Use at your own risk. All because I wanted a prescription instead of buying the medication from them.

I have taken my pets to these vets for many years and have never had any problems or concerns. For the reviewers who have a bad experience, I don't believe this is the norm. I will continue to have my animals treated here. The vets are professional and caring, and the office staff members are very helpful. Don't believe everything you read in the Google reviews, or at least understand that a few bad reviews does not necessarily paint an accurate picture.

My dog was hit by a car on sunday night and our usual clinic that is open 24hrs did not have a vet on duty (no idea why they would be open 24hrs then). This clinic took care of my dog. He had a broken jaw, broken teeth and a puncture near his mouth. The staff were all very nice and Dr. Mogavero was professional and reasonable. I appreciate everything that was done for my dog. Thank you very much.

My very first introduction to this wonderful clinic, was nearly 3 years ago, when I had to put down my beloved 12 1/2 year old lab. She hadn't been to a vet in years as we had moved around a lot, and honestly, she was never sick a day in her life. When the time came to face reality, my husband called them and told them about her, and they asked us to bring her in. I was so torn as to whether I was doing the right thing, and all I wanted was a professional to tell me I was. I got more than I bargained for. Before, during and after this heartbreaking end, we were consoled by Dr. Christine ( at the time) and any doubts I had were answered, all concerns I had were met with the kindest and most genuine approach I could have ever asked for. We brought a new 4 legged canine fur baby into our world a few short months later, and I wouldn't bring him anywhere else. We've now just rescued another sweet girl from a kill shelter in Georgia, and I wouldn't have any other vet look at her than this terrific group of professionals who truly love what they do.

On our first visit, they were very good, answered all my questions and dealt with my kitten... Within 24 hours after our visit my kitten became very lethargic started throwing up and having constant diarrhea to the point where she was not in a good way at all. (Because I took her there the day prior ( not even 24 hrs later) I tried to take her back once I realized things were going downhill....I was told by the lady at the front desk, even though they're an animal hospital, that the doctor was busy and then they had an appointment.. to me and animal hospital should prioritize just like a regular hospital...if an animal comes in that is sick or is a needing immediate attention they should be prioritized before the pet that's coming in just for a regular appointment. After I was told this, I told them I will just go to my regular vet; as I only used them in the meantime because of Christmas my vet was closed. I went to my vet immediately!!! Took us right away! and they ended up keeping our kitten in hospital care ... When we picked her up they told us she still wasn't out of the woods and if it didn't stop the diarrhea and throwing up within 24 hours they recommended us putting her down as she was really not doing well. But in the end our vet thank goodness ended up helping us and she is a bouncy happy loving kitten with no more diarrhea or throwing up. If I didn't take my kitten to my regular vet she may not have survived the night. Huge thanks to Rockland vet!

Called looking for a price on Rayne Rabbit food for my dog. Was told they don't carry it (I doubt anyone does). I asked if they could order it. The woman responded by asking me why I don't get it at my own vet to which I answered "I'm just looking for the best price" to which she stated "it's an expensive food and the same price everywhere" 1) does this woman know the price of every prescription dog food at every vet within a reasonable distance? 2) regardless if it the exact same price, there is a markup and an opportunity to make money for your business 3) is it too much of a hassle for this woman to check a price from supplier list? It's not a big deal. It is an expensive food, I know that . That's why I want to find the cheapest price. I'll call the next place, maybe they will be more helpful

I brought my senior dog here last week on Wednesday because he was having a hard time walking, very dizzy and not eating much. After waiting an hour for the vet he came in to examine the dog. Quickly looked over him, check his ears and breathing. Told me my dog probably had vestibular disease and should be back to normal in a week or so. Sunday night I had to bring my dog in somewhere else because he was only getting worse. The vet checked him out and as soon as he saw his gums he said he was anemic. We did blood work and found out my dog was severely anemic. The vet recommended I euthanize on the spot but I brought my pooch home for one final night before he passed away at home with family. I feel if the vet would of done a thorough examination of my dog he would of seen the signs that were showing in my dog and we would of been able to start medication to up his red blood cell count. I'm so saddened writing this and I just wanted people to know my experience before they bring their pets to this place.

We recently moved to this practice and will now move elsewhere. This vet was very rigid and unwilling to listen to the family’s concerns over paying for very expensive tests. He refused to give medications that maintained an elderly dogs quality of life if we did not pay for these tests. He refused to listen to the history of the dog and our understanding of our dogs problems or discuss other options. He was pushy, and made us feel like we were irresponsible owners for not agreeing to his unfounded conclusions.
