Amazing experience! Just the other night our Green Cheek Conure was having some troubles. We observed him overnight to see if anything would change, when it didn't, we looked up animal hospitals that dealt with birds, and Briarwood was the top of the list, and for good reason! I am extremely pleased with how quick it was to book an appointment. I got an appointment the same morning, when my ride needed more time, I called back to re-book for the closer to the afternoon, and had No problems! The vet that saw him was amazing and very understanding, he nailed down a potential problem real quick, and we went home with just what we needed. My Bird's name was used despite it being our first time visiting. I will absolutely be going back there anytime my pet needs anything. 100% Recommend this place! Despite being booked solid today, they were still squeezing in walk in's and emergencies. I couldn't believe how dedicated everyone was. Thank-you Briarwood!

Best vet. I went for a second opinion on my senior cat who I was told was going to die, Briarwood gave me lots of treatment options which gave my senior over a year more to her life. I take now take my Kitten & Yard adoptee here they have been in great hands. I love that it is fear free, you do notice the difference and for being so much better than other popular Hamilton vets the prices are very very good. They truly do care.

I have four pets. I bounced around different vets in the area, and Briarwood is second to none. Everyone who works there is friendly and really cares about their fury patients. If you're looking for somewhere "cheap", then maybe this isn't the vet for you. But if you want the best quality care for your pet at a reasonable cost, there isn't a better vet in the GHA.

Briarwood has been my animal's vet for 4 years now. They are wonderful. They always try to make time for my pets in for last minute issues ( ear infections on a Friday afternoon). They were very helpful and sensitive when we recently lost our dog. The vets are all fantastic and more importantly front line staff are receptive and lovely to deal with. The staff was extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming! They made sure my bird Kiwi and I were taken care of promptly. Dr. Stirling was very gentle and completely understanding of my bird, who surprisingly did not even make an aggressive move at him! Our pets really can tell when a person is a true animal lover, and they show it. It was very obvious that Dr. Stirling loves what he does. I would go back in a heartbeat - was well worth the drive from Sarnia to get an expert's opinion to put my mind at ease on my bird's health! He even told me I could give him a call anytime I had questions and would openly and honestly let me know if he felt I needed to come back or not. What a stand up vet and office! You don't find that kind of honestly very often anymore. Thank you to all the staff there! Keep up the great work. You guys are awesome. :)

I can't imagine a veterinarian clinic better than Briarwood in Stoney Creek. The doctors there who have treated our pets over the past twenty years have been terrific ... kind and caring to both our cats and ourselves. And the rest of the staff have been no less caring. There are, no doubt, less expensive clinics around but, even on our limited budget, Briarwood's level of treatment is worth the price. There is a strange review elsewhere in this list from a "Mercedes Catwoman" that makes no sense at all. She must have clicked on the wrong "Briarwood." (Several show up in Google's match list.) Absolutely no one could see Briarwood in Stoney Creek (Hamilton) in the way she describes!

The staff is very friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your pets and their owners comfortable and well taken care of. Dr. Randy Sterling has taken care of my cockatiels and my blue-headed pionus from the very beginning and is #1 in my books for parrots. Dr. Morganti, Dr. Philips and many other doctors over the years treat the pets like their own, wonderful caring people. Thanks for the great service.

I LOVE Briarwood! I wouldn't even think of taking my guys anywhere else. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, and Dr. Phillips is amazing. She has been our vet for ten years now, and because a few of my pets have had some special needs and more involved care during that time, we have gotten to know her and have come to look forward to our regular visits; so much so that my cat Frank even gives her kisses every time we leave! Each time we visit, I know Dr. Phillips will be understanding, empathetic, and adept at treating just about anything that comes up. She has been extremely knowledgeable in the treatment of my rabbits, and was even able to prolong the life of my special needs rabbit Hoppie by an additional two years, after my previous vet clinic told me I should consider putting her down. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Briarwood, and highly recommend them to anyone who asks. They are truly a 'Pets First' clinic, and to me, that's what matters most.

Can't say enough great things about this place. My animals are constantly treated with utmost care and adoration, and it feels like it's a personalized experience. My fiancée and I love dealing with Dr. Larocque especially, and it is so obvious that she loves what she does. The best part is that she's receptive to any comments or concerns that we may have, never dismissing without good reason or reassurance. This place is definitely a mom-and-pop experience: slightly higher cost, but it comes with vastly superior service and knowledge. If you want to go to a chain store, go to Beattie. Compared to Briarwood... I'm thankful to be in close proximity to Briarwood Animal Hospital than Beattie on Upper Centennial. It's like night and day. If you want a personal, intimate, engaging experience, come to Briarwood.

If you have a sick bird bring it here. I cannot stress this enough, Dr. Stirling is a bird expert. Our bird has fully revived from the edge of death due to a respiratory infection and his prices were more than reasonable. Every time I have been I feel I learn a thousand new things about birds and how to care for them.

We lost our kitty and my Familly went through lots of Emotions and sadnes over the weekend. She never even call to apologize for the neglegted service she offered us. I came here as a child. The late 1980's I think. My Mom trusted Briarwood with both of our cats. We never went anywhere else. Present day, now I've had my own animals. I've been to multiple animal shelters and had bad experiences, been made to wait multiple times well over an hour for appointments, been left with feelings of having my love for my dog manipulated via guilt for money and even been given improper diagnosis which I think cheated us of 2 more years with our last Flora a Doberman. Briarwood feels more mom and pop shop. I've been given free advice over little things I was worried about due to lack of knowledge. Sure it's probably a little more expensive than some places in the short term. Long term it's cheaper because they aren't manipulators, the docs are well knowledged, giving proper diagnosis. Better on my stess levels, helping fast, quick appointments, not much wait time. Last and most important to me, better for the health of my animal. Hudson says thanks!

They are very clear with what we can do to make our old guy comfortable and for that we couldn't be more grateful. BRIARWOOD IS A GREAT ANIMAL HOSPITAL! I take our animals care very seriously and could not be happier with Briarwood! My sister is a very good vet in Toronto and so when we moved to Hamilton I knew it would be tough for find a vet and clinic as good as my sisters (Secord Animal Hospital). After trying two other clinics and being disappointed I happened upon Briarwood and Dr. Phillips. She is amazing! So are all the techs and support staff. They are knowledgeably, kind, caring and truly there for their clients. I cannot stress enough about how comfortable i feel putting my animals care in Briairwoods hands. Our late cat Jack and our house bunny Rocco always are at ease in Dr. Phillips gentle care. Our new kitten is now also a client and will be meeting the team next month!

My sweet Mr. Baggs came to see Dr. Morganti 2 years and was diagnosed with diabetes. The doctor and staff were always so great about getting him in for glucose tests whenever I called and following up later to see how he was. Dr. Morganti even came in early once to see him. When the poor old guy started getting seizures, Dr. Morganti let me know that it might be time to say goodbye. She walked us through what would happen and sat with us the entire time. She and the staff went above and beyond to help us through this difficult journey and there are not enough words to express our gratitude towards them. in my almost 16 years with my sweet boy this was hands down the best veterinarian clinic and staff I have dealt with.

Great people, for the most part good prices, unless your dog has reoccurring ear infections, then they want $700 for a test on the infection which their own vet told me was 60% of the time inaccurate... obviously I'm not going to pay for that... but they refuse to try a different treatment until the test is done

I have been going to Briarwood since I got my first bunny 10 years ago. Briarwood was recommended to me as it is one of the only ones in my area to have a rabbit savvy vet :) Everyone is so very friendly and helpful! Kathy and Susan at the front desk always relay my messages quickly and Dr. Philips does a great job caring for my bunnies. Dr. Philips also takes time out of her day to call and check in to see how my bunnies are doing and she returns my calls quickly when I have questions (even if it is after clinic hours). The rest of the staff has also contributed their time in caring for my bunnies when Dr. Philips is not in (even if it has been a last minute need). I highly recommend Briarwood especially if you have bunnies :)

Brought my kitten to Briarwood for his first visit on Friday, with Dr.Forbes. From the moment I walked in the staff was professional, friendly and amazing with myself and my kitten Finn. I was put in a cat room to wait for our doctor, where Erin(sorry about spelling!) weighed my kitten. Everyone made him and myself feel comfortable and non pressured. As a student, I don’t have a ton of money. Luckily briarwood has an amazing program. I pay monthly so that my vaccines, neuter and x amount of visits are covered. It allows me to spread out my payments to an affordable pace. Dr.Forbes was also amazing with myself and my pet. The front staff when I was leaving made the whole visit even better. I will be bringing my dog here as well. I highly recommend this clinic, as well as looking into the pet plans. Thank you to all the briarwood staff! 10/10, finn and I cannot wait to come back for our neuter :)

They are amazing as long as your paying their INSANE prices. They treat your pet like a pay cheque. Over priced. Changing vets was the best thing we have done for ourselves and our pets. Now they are treated like our children and not a bank machine. They wont even take a phone call when your worried to see if a vet visit is needed as they want that appointment fee. Rude front desk staff and the vet talks down to you as if your a lower then them. I have been bringing my three cats, Rusty, Jasmine and Angel to Briarwood for a few years. In July we had issues with all three of our babies. Dr. Phillips, Dr. Morganti and all of the staff were helpful with our numerous calls. Angel passed away in July at the clinic. Everyone was very compassionate and helpful and sent us a card afterwards. As for Rusty and Jasmine, we have had a few issues with them in January and thanks to Dr. Phillips, we are thankful that these issues have been resolved for now. I would recommend Briarwood Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a place to bring in your "babies".

They are always extremely friendly, helpful and I feel like they genuinely always remember me and my pet. The doctors unlike other vet clinics I feel are not pushy when it comes to services or products. I am a student and am on a budget but I feel like they really respect that when it comes to decision making for my animal. I have seen Dr. Larocque as my main vet and my puppy adores her! She is so kind and patient when answering questions and always takes time to explain herself if you don’t understand something. I've been taking my parrot to this vet for regular wing and nail trims for a couple years now, and every time it was difficult to get an appointment because Dr. Stirling is the only avian vet, and since he doesn't work every day, they don't always have appointments. Till now, I didn't see this as a big problem.. My parrot is sick and not eating or drinking as he normally does. There is no one available to see him, and there is no one available to talk to about him. I was referred to Burloak Animal Hospital. He has an appointment later today.

I didn't get effective care for my cockatiel here. My little guy and I were sent home and they said if he was still puffed up the next day to call back. They didn't weigh him, or take any time to really check him out before saying he was fine. The doc speculated that the anti biotics were causing his discomfort and he should be okay if I just stopped giving it to him. Well he wouldn't have made it thru the night last night and I wound up at the emerg vet in Guelph late at night. He was breathing so heavily all night and i waa so worried. Turns out, my little guys lungs were filled with fluid and the abdomen issue that the vet at Briarwood said was gone was actually still there. The Guelph vet thought it could be an egg. It was actually his organs because of so much fluid on the lungs pushing down. The poor little guy was in so much pain. I said my goodbyes before the last ditch drive to Guelph, that's how bad he was. Happy to say he is doing much better, second overnight at the vet tonight, but he is on the mend thanks to some amazing care from true bird specialists in Guelph. Take your bird elsewhere if you want a better chance at recovery.

I took my rescue baby Ceelo for the first time to Briarwood animal hospital today. I was very nervous from our past experiences, which were not pleasant. I heard many good things about this location and their staff. Calling to set up the appointment with Elizabeth was very easy and she was able to get my babies records from his other vet. Which was amazing that she did all that for us. From the moment we walked into Briarwood’s clinic, it was already great. Ceelo met Dr. Colette Larocque and I can’t say it enough. She was amazing! She took off her white coat, she got down on the floor with him and sat there for a bit. She had just met ceelo and she knew everything about him. She is very thorough and professional. It was nice to know she had actually read through his file, took the time to get to know him. Money isn’t number one for Briarwood, you can tell they want to put the dogs primary care first. I will be recommending them to everyone with a pet. Thank you so much to the staff.

I had an appointment with Dr Larocque, she was very patient with my very nervous cat and was extremely knowledgeable and genuine. I followed Dr. Colette Larocque here because she is a phenomenal vet and my dog loves her. She is very knowledgeable and the first time she met my dog she got on the floor and crawled under the bench to see her. She is kind and loves animals. She is never rough and she takes her time examining the dog. I love how softly she talks to my dog. Dr. Larocque takes the time to explain what is wrong with your pet, gives you vaccinations options and treatment options. This clinic was referred to me by a friend of my mothers. I was so happy with our visit. The vet (sorry I am not good with names) was so sweet and kind about our loss. She then examined my Toby and for the first time is over 20 years of having dogs and going to vets, she examined Toby down on the floor. Probably wouldn’t go to this vet if it wasn’t for Dr. Larocque. Anytime I’ve met with other vets at this office they’ve been robotic with the pets and kind of push treatments with vague explanations, the vet today suggested that my dog lose weight but didn’t go over tips on how to help after I explained we’ve been struggling for 2 years. Just showed me a chart of her weight gain over the years. Wasn’t asked what food she is on or how much I’m giving her. I will only see Dr. Larocque and usually only request her but because timing had to see another vet. Dr. Larocque is great with explanations and not pushy at all. She’s also great with my pets to the point where my one dog gets excited to go in and usually is nervous around people. The reception staff is also great because of them and Dr. Larocque I keep going back.

Recently I've bounced around a few different vets looking for an avian vet, but now I swear by Briarwood. Their rates are unbelievably affordable compared to other practices and the service is infinitely better. While other places I've gone to have overcharged when they haven't been able to give a proper diagnosis, Dr Stirling has always given me an accurate diagnosis very quickly. Also, almost every time I've ever gone I've called in the morning of with some emergency and his schedule has always been completely full, yet he has always found time to fit me in. Most practices would not make that extra effort, and it shows how much they care about their clients and the animals. Even though my apoointments have been last minute rush apoointments, the total cost for my appointments, including medicine and treatment and tests, always costs less than other vets have just for the initial appt. I wouldn't trust anyone but Dr Stirling with my birds. The president of the aviary where I volunteer recommended him to me, I recommended him to my sister, and we recommend him to everybody we know who has birds.
