Update, June 2021: I deeply appreciate Doctor Harris and his staff. They've been very good to us over the years. But I've become increasingly frustrated with this office with each visit lately. I don't understand how a pet whose appointment was scheduled for 4:00 can still be in there over an hour later. This hasn't been a one-time "we're running behind" type of deal, either, it's been a repeating problem with each appointment we've booked in the last 18 months. Previous review: Probably the warmest, most compassionate vet staff in the city. Doctor Harris will be our family's vet until the sad day he retires, and he'll be an impossible man to replace.

"Dr Paul" has got to be the kindest and most gentle vet I have ever met in my 50+years of animal guardianship. The clinic prices are reasonable and there is absolutely no 'up-selling'. Staff is personable and friendly to everyone who comes in the door. Follow up phone calls are a regular policy.

I am very thankful I found Victoria Road Animal Hospital. In May of this year, I lost my baby bunny while in the care of another vet just hours after she was spayed due to a lack of care and poor judgment. It was a traumatic experience that made it difficult (almost impossible) for me to trust another veterinarian to neuter my newest bunny. I spent weeks and weeks researching rabbit savvy vets, using a list of recommended vets on a rabbit Facebook group and reviews on Facebook, Google and VetRatingz. I compiled a list of potential veterinarians with high ratings, reviewed their websites, and made a few appointments with my top choices so I could meet the veterinarians in person (really helps with building trust). When I met Dr. Harris, I immediately knew I would be able to trust him. It was evident that he was knowledgeable, compassionate, trustworthy, and most importantly, understanding. Dr. Harris and his staff were aware of my previous experience and were amazing at keeping my worries at bay. They felt my pain and they loved my fur baby (Moufette) like their own. Dr. Harris performed the surgery with the assistance of Tara. The surgery went great and Moufette was back to being his crazy self within 24 hours. They allowed me to visit Moufette as soon as he woke up from surgery and take him home only a few hours after, which was extremely comforting for me as I knew he would recover better at home. On top of all this, I was able to send a picture of Moufette’s incision directly to Dr. Harris when I was worried that it looked abnormal (of course it was just me worrying). It’s very, very rare that a vet will acknowledge that you know your fur babies best, and they did just that. So, thank you Dr. Harris, Tara, Michelle and the rest of the staff. You guys are a phenomenal team and I am incredibly grateful. TL;DR: I 110% recommend them!

We have been going to this animal hospital for several years. We find the costs to be average, but the customer service is great. Our dogs see Dr. Harris every time they visit and we find him to be an excellent vet, both compassionate and knowledgeable.

A wonderful, caring and kind staff make this a great place to take your pet for treatment. Always clean, never a long wait. My Bulldog literally RUNS into the Vet office he gets SO excited to go and visit! If he is happy and comfortable then so am i. I do wish however, that they could offer some kind of payment plan at times. I am on disability and must live within very limited means. As a result i have not been able to get my dog the care or medicine he needs at times as they will not do a payment plan and want payment in full at the time of the visit. Many times i have had no other choice but to research holistic treatments online and try to treat his ailments as best i can at home on my own. It is unfortunate however, i do understand that most vet clinics seem to operate this way.

I have been to other vets and none can compare to this one. My mom's dog queeny loved it here. She loved going in and getting lots of love and attention from the girls at the front and she loved seeing Dr. Harris too. Very recently I had to take my moms dog here and have her put down. All the staff was incredibly sensitive and sympathetic. They made it as comfortable as they possibly could for our baby and for myself aswell. Dr. Harris is a very gentle, kind, compassionate doctor and queeny could sense that and is likely why she loved and trusted him so much. Dr Harris walked me through the entire procedure and made me aware of possible side effects so that i wasnt surprised or worried. It was a very hard day for me and my family but taking queeny to Victoria Road was the best decision we could have made. We know queeny was happy and at peace when she left our world for doggy heaven. Thank you so much Dr. Harris and staff!!!

Healthy cat vaccinations/first appointment at this vet office - Same price as most vets (half hour consultation, 3 vaccinations and deworming pill = $198), super friendly, no long waits, the vet was very thorough and not rushed at all, didn't force anything (ie deworming for my indoor/outdoor cat, brand name cat food) but just gave his opinion and let me decide what I wanted to do. Looking forward to dealing with them in the future.

Victoria Road Animal Hospital is amazing. Dr. Harris is great with dogs and rabbits. I started going there because I was looking for a great place in Guelph to bring my rabbits. I have been more than happy and have referred others with rabbits to him as well. Dr. Harris and staff are always so friendly and wonderful. He is the type of vet I want caring for my pets; I always feel like the health and happiness of them are his number one priority. He is patient, caring and thorough. The number of times he has gone above and beyond is so appreciated. I can't say enough about how wonderful he and his staff are. I trust him so much with my rabbits that, although I now live in Ottawa, I return to Guelph to bring them to him.
