I took my dog here for the first time after his nail was cracked from playing in the back yard. After having not the best of luck at another vet, Kortright was recommended to me by a friend. They were absolutely amazing and fixed my puppy's nail without him being in any pain. They treated him so well and they were very understanding about my budget. Dr. Tammy and Vet Tech Carly were amazing! would recommend them to anyone. Clyde is feeling much better after his visit.

My boyfriend and I recently got a puppy and were looking for the perfect veterinarian and clinic. When searching all the other clinics were very brief with me and didn’t really give me the details I needed to feel comfortable with putting my puppy’s health in their hands. I contacted Kortright Animal Hospital and they gave me all the information I requested in order to make me feel at ease as this was such a new experience. Our first appointment was great. They gave us a warm welcome, a tour of the facility and a great consult with Dr. Jones who is so kind. She was fantastic with our pup and gave us so information on everything we were questioning. Even after our appointment the vet techs followed up with me to see how she was doing and again answered all of my questions with things I was worried about. I couldn’t have picked a better clinic. Thank you guys for making us feel so welcome.

Great experience with Dr. Kraft, but they wanted to charge $25 for a printed report of my pet's visit and CBC results. I wanted it for my records to keep my pet's health file updated and track her progress with an ongoing problem. I've never heard of a clinic charging for a copy of blood results/ visit notes, especially after a $500 visit, the results are usually a given. It seems unreasonable to me to charge clients for a copy of their records. I'm still giving 3 stars because Dr. Kraft was attentive and I had a good experience with him, but as a vet student I'm disappointed in the service regarding charging for a copy of results. I offered to come to the clinic to pick up a print out or to have them emailed. All other clinics I've ever visited have e-mailed and forwarded results without cost.

Although I live in Waterloo I drive to Guelph so my animals can have the benefit of all the staff at Kortright Animal Hospital. Dr Kraft is as great to the animals as he is to their owners. The warmth and concern he has comes thru in every interaction and you know that your pet is in the best hands possible. He is also supported by a wonderful group of vet techs one of which is Michelle Fagel. To say that she loves hers job is an understatement. She will go over and above for any client. She has incredible knowledge and skills in how to care for your pet but it is her caring and compassion that stands out. She understands that as pet owners the love we have for our pets is limitless but we all have our own financial limitations. I am disabled and live on a limited income but my pets are everything to me, Michelle always understands this and never makes me feel like Im not doing enough she guides me to provide the absolute best medical care I can within the limitations I have. I've highlighted Dr. Kraft & Michelle as I've dealt with them the most but all the staff at Kortright is amazing. They care and love all animals but they also care about the people as well which is a hard quality to find. I couldn't recommend this Clinic more and as a testament of how I truly feel I take my new puppy there and have also moved my cat's medical care from a clinic here in waterloo to Kortright. They are worth the drive to Guelph!!!

We absolutely love Kortright Animal Hospital! We recently had BOAS surgery done on our 4 year old Frenchie, Mirabelle, and we could not have been more pleased with our experience and the outcome. Not only did the surgery go very well and our girl is finally starting to feel better, the way the staff treated us and our dog from our first consultation to our follow-up visit was more than worth the 90 minute drive each way to their clinic. The staff at Kortright are an incredibly friendly and compassionate group of people, but they are also very considerate and empathetic, and add little thoughtful touches throughout each visit to make their clients feel welcome and cared for. Surgery is a scary event no matter how routine, but Kortright made us feel as comfortable as was possible during the entire process. We were absolutely blown away by their accommodating attitude and their focus on customer service. They reassured us at every stage - pre, during and post surgery - answered all of our questions and invited us to ask more. They are very professional and knowledgeable, but are also considerate and respectful of how we choose to personally care for our dogs. Mirabelle doesn’t automatically like every vet she visits, but she absolutely loves everyone at Kortright - especially Dr. Kraft who performed her operation. We could tell that the staff treated Mirabelle as though she were their own, and it was clear that she was very well cared for while she was there. My husband and I are so grateful that a friend recommended we try Kortright Animal Hospital. Based on their excellent customer service and our wonderful experience with them, we will happily continue to take our animals there. If you are looking for a positive veterinary experience, I honestly cannot recommend them enough.

Kudos to Dr. Kraft and Carley, who made Emma's last visit less stressful for her. Lately she has become less-than-enamoured with being examined. I have been working to change this with training, and the staff were very amenable to making changes to their normal routine so as not to set this back. So I opened her mouth instead of Dr. Kraft, and she had her blood sample taken in the exam room with me there, instead of in the back room. I really appreciated this, as my dog's mental well-being is as important to me as her physical well-being.

Because of Covid-19 we had to change vets and started using Kortright. We will be sticking with them from now on. Tonight a wonderful member of their staff is taking time out of her night to drop medication off at our house for our Chinchilla. She is also letting us borrow a pet carrier. Such kindness, especially in this time, is really appreciated. I know our fur babies are in good hands.

It was because of word of mouth, familiarity and location that I made the call. Pal, our "grand-dog" family member had unfortunately stepped on glass in the forest. I walked him home, figuring I would wash it, perhaps use some anti-biotic creme and bandage it myself. When I got home, the wound was far worse than I expected (his pad completely split open) and knew this needed professional help. Which brings me to the point of the story- professional help is exactly what I got: the response on the phone, the clean-up and sterilization of the mess on the floor (with no fuss), the careful explanation of proceedures, the sutchering, detailed explanation of medication and exactly what we needed to do in weeks ahead to get Pal back to normal. I wouldn't recommend anyone going near the forest we were in, but I would certainly recommend this clinic to anyone. Professional help is exactly what you will get.

The vets and staff at Kortright Animal Hospital have cared for my dog since 2008. I originally brought her to them seeking a vet who could answer my questions about vet medicine in terms I could understand. I stayed because I have seen visible improvements to my dog's health issues over the years. The vets at Kortright (I've seen them all over 11 years!) have treated Olivia for three chronic conditions: bad teeth, a liver disorder, and kneecaps that slip out of place. They successfully slowed the progress of all three conditions, giving her a great quality of life as she has aged. I am happy to give them 5 stars for their teamwork, professionalism and willingness to focus on my pet as if she were one of their own.

We took our very ill Edith, our nevertheless feisty guinea pig, in to meet the Kortright Animal Hospital crew for a fresh opinion just a few weeks ago. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in our little one. Dr. Jones even brushed aside the fact that her medical jacket was liberally covered in Edith .... "anointing" ... after she had spent time with her during her examination! Sorry again, Dr. Jones!! We took Dr. Jones' advice to seek medical assistance of Edith's condition at the UofG animal cancer centre where, unfortunately, her terminal condition was confirmed. In the future, I wouldn't hesitate to make Kortright Animal Hospital my first and only choice for vet care. I wish I had known about this group of vets far earlier.

Definitely the best veterinary clinic I've ever been to. They truly care for each and every pet and and are very knowledgeable about a wide range of animals. Even when I had to be referred to the OVC they check on me every few weeks to follow my pet's case and see if I need any help with anything. I would highly reccomend.

The Kortright team has been part of our lives since Abby Rose was 8 weeks old! Dr. Kraft, Dr. Hunter, Dr. Jones and staff, offer a preventative, multi-faceted approach to healthcare service that includes veterinary evaluation of your pet’s overall health and risk for disease. They provide recommendations specifically tailored to your pet’s needs, including nutrition, dental care, vaccinations, and heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Dr. Kraft is an empathetic vet who takes the time to design and explain a comprehensive plan of care to ensure my Bichon Frise has the best possible care as she enters her senior years. The team will listen to all your questions and concerns, and treat you with respect and patience (especially with an anxious mom like me!) Quality, compassionate care is what you find at Kortright Animal Hospital!

For a vet clinic that attempts to build their reputation off of care and compassion for both the pet and their owner, I was wildly disappointed with the level of service received. Not only was this the most expensive veterinary clinic I have been to I also received the most inconsistent care. I took my puppy in for a “non-regular” vet visit due to a skin irritation. The vet made me feel absolutely horrible as well as making shaming comments about the skin irritation. I was prescribed antibiotics. A week after the antibiotics were finished, the skin irritation resurfaced. I brought my puppy in again and was prescribed another round of the same antibiotics that had previously not worked on clearing the infection. At this time a different vet than the original stated that he didn’t want to assume allergies in such a young dog, and stated that the infection must not have been fully cleared up. At my third visit for the same problem, a differ vet again recommended pumping more antibiotics into my puppy. After pushing back as the antibiotics had failed to clear up the reoccurring skin irritation, the vet simply prescribed reactin to my puppy without ever discussing diet changes to aid in figuring out what exactly was causing the allergic reaction. I did my own research and initiated a diet change on my own accord, and the irritation has not occurred again. This should have been a big red flag, but since I purchased the puppy package, I continued with this veterinary service for my dogs neuter The actual procedure went well. However when I went for my follow up appointment, they gave my dog the all clear to proceed with normal life. The next day after letting my puppy go back to being a dog, I discovered blood dripping down his leg from where the surgery took place. Having enough of this vet, I took my dog to emergency, he had gone necrotic at the surgical site and could have died having not caught this - he should never have been given the all clear at his follow up appointment. This is by far the worst vet clinic I have ever been to. For a vet clinic that prides themselves on the customer experience, boarding on incessant, with continuous “check ins” on patients, my experience both over the phone and in person was nothing less than demeaning, unprofessional, dismissive and disheartening.

Our Great Dane, Lucy, has had her share of issues. Dr. Kraft, Dr. Hunter and Dr. Jones have worked as a team to try and find the best treatments for her and their team is constantly checking in to see if she is doing well. We appreciate how much effort and time they have contributed to helping keep her comfortable and happy. We can tell they have Lucy's best interests at heart. Very nice staff at the Kortright Animal Hospital! A couple days ago, we went in as an emergency; however, they were able to treat Murphy as soon as possible despite that they were booked in until probably 5 pm. Dr. Kraft was very thorough and made me feel assured about Murphy's status. I loved the picture of Murphy that was printed on the back of our instruction sheet to take home as it was very touching. What touched me the most was being able to see Murphy back up and happy the next morning I walked him, it was definitely a big relief, and therefore, I am very thankful to the Kortright Animal Hospital team!

We were looking for a new vet for our senior kitty, Boo Boo. From the wonderful reviews we knew Kortright Animal Hospital was our place. On our wellness/initial check the whole team treated Boo like she was part of their family. The tech’s Paige and Carley were so kind, sweet and gentle. Then we met Dr. Hunter who was nothing short of amazing. She was thorough and explained everything so well all while keeping Boo calm and happy. After reviewing some options we decided to proceed with further tests. The way the team explained the procedures and showed us pictures of what will actually happen put our worries right at ease. The day of the procedure Dr. Kraft and Dr. Hunter kept us updated before and after, even with a picture of her before she went in. From the tests we were given various options. We decided just to keep Boo comfortable as she was very grumpy post anesthesic post exam. A few months later Boo declined and stopped eating/drinking. In her final week, we met Dr. Jones through the phone (due to COVID-19). Dr. Jones was very kind and informative giving us options based on her presentation. Although the news was upsetting, Dr. Jones managed to comfort me from our conversation, understanding how difficult this was. When we decided to put her to sleep and set a date, the team checked on us every day leading up with a phone call. I want to thank Michelle who talked to me several times and managed to make me feel consoled and understood as this decision weighed hard on me. During a time like this I can’t explain how much that meant to me. Thank you Michelle! I want to thank the entire team at Kortright Animal Hospital. If you’re looking for someone to treat and care for your pet with dignity, care and compassion this is the right place. These people are truly guardian angels!

Dr. kraft and the crew at Kortright Animal Hospital are beyond amazing. While, I understand every animal and health situation is different, my example is purely attuned to the experience with my dog. My 4 year old chocolate lab has been suffering from hip and cruciate issues for some time and after only 3 sessions ( 1/week) of acupuncture and comprehensive counselling of proper diet and weight loss practices, Charlie is showing impressive improvement in his mobility but importantly has his happy personality back. He went from behaving like a senior dog to a vibrant puppy again! Plus, He loves the general vibes at KAH which means the world to me! I honestly can’t say enough about my appreciation to the staff at this facility. Your care for Charlie is so personalized; I’m in awe of his improvements. The professionalism and overall impressive operations of this animal hospital leave me feeling fully confident in the care my pup is receiving. The hospital has a diverse range of services (I’m using acupuncture right now) and the small but impactful touch of personalized service (ex. welcome signs on doors for animal patients) is a warm but authentic nod to the consistent experience you can expect. Lastly, I feel I’m better equipped to care for charlie’s well-being through the guidance and advice offered by Dr.Kraft and his team during each session. He takes time to discuss all my questions and concerns and I truly appreciate the honesty, transparency and most of all choice in making decisions about charlie’s long term health. If you’re looking for a trusted, professional and genuine experience, I highly recommend this clinic! Charlie and I are so grateful - THANK YOU.

I owe a big thanks to Dr. Hunter and all the other wonderful ladies who helped me at the clinic today. Long story short, my kitties munched on an unlabeled tropical plant. The plant turned out to be a peace lily, with no blooms. Not good for cats, but not on the same level of toxicity as genuine lily's. The potential for my pets being poisoned was taken very seriously, they began treatment soon after I walked in. And before the plant was identified one of my cats had already been induced to vomit. Though the vet cleverly chose a reversable method. Despite having begun to treat one of my cats, Dr. Hunter did not charge me any additional fee's upon the base emergency vet fee. Which I thought was incredibly kind. Throughout my whole experience everybody was extremely kind, accommodating and respectful. I feel very grateful that I have such a convenient and reliable clinic accessible to me. And I'm happy to report that my two little trouble makers are both contently lounging on their favourite chairs. My next plant will be plastic. Thanks again Kortright Animal Hospital!

The vet techs and Dr. Kraft were absolutely amazing, and extremely friendly with both me and my dog. However ever since they changed to VCA the pricing has gone way up. 600 dollars for a monthly wellness package that after doing some research other clinics were offering for around 300.

My experience with this animal hospital has never been anything less than excellent. The staff are great. They care and are very doting towards my ferret, Casey. Dr. Kraft carefully examines Casey and gives me reports. He always explains every procedure and recommendations for care/next steps. He also talks me through Casey's health status as he examines him.

The knowledge they share so we can make informed decisions on our dogs care together is always so helpful.
