I was given a quote of $900 then charged $500 more even though they did less dental work than expected. The reasoning given was that it didn't include certain tests, even though the sheet we scribbled on with what was included in the quote included it. I also didn't appreciate being pressured on the spot to do bloodwork two months later, when I came in for a nail trim, for something I was told would be tested and treated if need be in the previous testing/quote appointment. My pet also came out with a nail cut too short and bleeding each time. Nail trims have never been my pets favourite thing but I regret switching from Royal City, due to proximity, where she would never leave stressed and she didn't have to be forcefully restrained for a nail trim. This clinic has come off as very professional to the point where pets are pets, not family. Her stress levels were not a paramount priority but their bank account was.

I couldn't be more thankful for Nicole and Dr. Burrow. My dog/furchild randomly snapped one of her canines and I was in a total panic. Our regular vet was unable to see her, but recommended emergency services. After calling around, I came across Stonegate and Nicole, who is so lovely, reassured me and was able to get me an appointment in the next hour. Dr. Burrow was quick with the exam and let me know that unfortunately, the tooth would need to come out. They were able to schedule Delta in for the next morning, causing her to be in pain for less than 24 hours, which is amazing. They were so gentle and kind to her (she's nervous around strangers) and called me when she was out of surgery to update me. Not only did they treat my baby like their own, the pricing was about a third of what I thought it would be, which was obviously a huge plus. I am so grateful for the care that the staff at Stonegate provided; thank you ladies!!!

I did not feel that I was well served by Stonegate. I was with them for 4 yrs. Generally, I had no complaints about the care. There was a couple of times that I required urgent care for my dog and felt that they were not willing to try and accommodate my requests. I was sent to Campus Estates each time (who were excellent btw). Most recently, 2 mo ago, I had an emergency situation that they were unable to fit me in but said they would follow up to make sure we were taken care of. We ended up having to put our dog down that day. No follow up was ever done. I received a notice this week that my dog is due for shots....not good service.

About 2 weeks ago, I had come in for an emergency for my cat. The vet took her in and examined her, when the vet came out he told me she had an ear infection (cats hide pain really well so I had no idea) he was very rude explaining the information with me, I had asked if I could come back 2 days later to pay my balance. He made some kind of arrangement but leading up to that made me feel like a terrible cat mom. After handing my cat back, and medication they prescribed for her they said besides her ear everything was good to go. 4 days later my cat gave birth to 5 little babies. I called back the following Monday asking them to read the report to me from her last visit and it was written that everything was good with her and no sign of pregnancy. I do not recommend this vet for this reason. If I had known when I came that day I would’ve been prepared to have expected these little babies to come.

I so much appreciate Dr. Panesar and his way of working with my pets and with me as a client. He was very compassionate and personable. The rates at this animal hospital are also very competitive. They listened when I described my budget, and they were fully transparent about all of my options regarding their services and even went above and beyond by offering creative and affordable alternatives. They were very respectful of how I chose to care for my animals and did not push anything unnecessary on me at all. It isn't common (in my own experience) that a vet will practice in this way. It really made the experience just outstanding. They truly worked with me on my level, financially and values-wise. I appreciate that this vet will serve a population in Guelph that doesn't ordinarily have access to pet medical care. Such an important thing you are doing. THANK YOU! The reception staff was extremely pleasant, and the veterinarian was also extremely kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. The prices are very fair, and they are very good with accommodating visits on little notice. We will continue to bring our dog here for all of our needs.

My sister went in with her 16 year old cat that was dying, pleading to put her down. They normally go to rockwood veterinary hospital but it was a Sunday so they went here. The vet said she was too healthy and made her feel bad about putting her down. They proceeded to do xrays and a urine sample then gave antibiotics and pain killers (costing over $300). She was put down at my veterinary clinic (Southgate) without judgment two days later. No one should be made to feel guilty about putting a 16 year old cat down. Shame on them!

Absolutely the best Animal Hospital in all of Guelph. They go above and beyond to make sure that your pet is cared for and only do what has to be done. My dog suffers from Kidney Stones and no other vet would look at him Jennifer and the staff took him in right away told me what was going on and they did the surgery to fix him. I have two dogs and I wouldn't take them anywhere else but here.

I took my 14 week old rag doll kitten Indi here today after she had been showing signs of a cold for about 2 weeks. The administrative staff was very helpful on the phone and was able to get me in for the same day as my call. The office itself was very clean and inviting. Dr Panesar was great with my squirmy kitten and very informative in regards to what the best course of treatment was for her. I left feeling like all of my concerns were adequately addressed and I definitely feel more than comfortable bringing Indi back in the future.

The entire staff were wonderful with my sweet, sweet Gus (cat) and me. The care and compassion shown by the staff during some of the worst times of our lives, truly moved me. I feel they did all they could for Gus, but sadly, it was his time to go. After he was euthanized, I asked them to keep him for a few hours, as I felt I wasn't done saying goodbye. They were so kind thru all of this. When I came back, they had him laying on the softest, thickest blanket and words truly cannot express what that meant to me.

We recently had to put our beloved big boy Tazzy to a peaceful rest, one of hardest decisions our family had to make. Dr. Panesar and Emma were very compassionate and professional. Leading up to Tazzys passing, Dr Panesar and staff always made time to recheck him and assured us to reach out to them any time of the day. Thank you Dr Panesar for your honesty and time, you always put the animals first without overcharging the owners which is huge when your pet is unhealthy. Dr P has been a blessing for our two cats. My husband and I travel from London so our cats get the best care. The front end staff are always so helpful. Best prices we have seen. Open 7 days a week and always get a same day appointment. Highly recommend Stonegate Animal Hospital!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this business. Unfortunately my cat became sick while I was out of the country. From the time my cat arrived, I felt confident that Dr. Panesar and everyone at Stonegate were doing everything they could for my best friend. Despite everyone's best efforts my cat passed away. When I returned home and met Dr. Panesar, I could immediately see the hurt and disappointment in his eyes that he couldn't save my cat. Following this, I received a sympathy card in the mail, personally signed by everyone at Stonegate with their condolences. I truly felt that these people cared about my pet as much as I did and could empathize with my loss. Aside from this, I was given good recommendations when it came to the cost of procedures and the necessity of them. I appreciate this as vet bills can become very costly very quickly. I would highly recommend Stonegate for anything your pets may need, pets are family and should be treated like it. Thank you Stonegate!!

Dr. P was amazing with our puppy. He had a severely swollen ear and our vet was not too worried about it but it kept getting worse. He was able to see what was wrong and provided us with medication to help him heal. His prices are reasonable as well. We will be going back to see Dr. P next week!

Our cat, Kiki, a 4-year old male, died here when Dr. Panesar and his staff were operating on him. We took Kiki there with what they diagnosed as urinary track blockage due to crystal formation. After doing an X-ray, Dr. Panesar gave us a price for the operation and a recovery time-frame and plan. The nurse assured us that this is a routine procedure and said her male cat has had this same condition a few times and was cured every time. *********************************** AT THIS STAGE THEY DID NOT SUGGEST THAT WE TAKE OUR CAT ELSEWHERE OR SEEK ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL'S OPINION AND ONLY TOOK OUR PERMISSION AND INITIAL PAYMENT. *********************************** We paid and left, with the hope of seeing Kiki soon in better health! Half an hour later Dr. Panesar called us in a state of panic and said Kiki has reacted badly to anaesthetic and his heart has stopped, but they recovered him. AT THIS POINT HE SUGGESTED THAT WE SHOULD BETTER TAKE KIKI TO THE OVC ANIMAL HOSPITAL! As he was talking to us on phone, we heard the alarm going off again. He rushed to Kiki, but within less than a minute came back to phone and told us that our Kiki was gone. When we immediately went back to the clinic to say goodbye to Kiki and learn about what happened, Dr. Panesar showed us two large tubes (syringes) full of urine that he had taken from Kiki's bladder before starting the operation. We have 3 main reasons to believe Dr. Panesar was incompetent in performing the proper medical procedure and/or was dishonest about his capability: 1- It is likely that Kiki experienced a potassium shock as a result of removal of urine (through a needle) from his bladder. Dr. Panesar did not tell us of any measure he could have taken to asses this or to prevent the shock. 2- If Kiki indeed reacted to the anaesthetic, the possibility of this reaction should have been considered prior to the operation, which apparently was not the case. 3- Suggesting that we take Kiki to the OVC animal hospital in the middle of a failed procedure (to put it mildly) and with that terrified tone, was beyond irresponsible and unprofessional. The scar Dr. Panesar left on our hearts will remain forever and we wish nobody experiences what we went through. We suggest you take your pets to better clinics for any serious procedure. For vaccinations and regular checks, this clinic is alright.

Very knowledgeable, helpful and kind staff. The doctors on site are great and take the time to go over everything with you. After having my dog at my original vet for 3 days with no signs of improvement, no explanation of what's wrong with her and a bill of a couple thousand dollars I knew I had to switch vets. I found stonegate animal hospital online and made an appointment. After a couple days there my dog was starting to show signs of improvement. She's now on the road to recovery, it goes without saying stonegate animal hospital and Dr. P. Saved my dogs life. Have and will continue to highly recommend this vet.

Checked Stonegate a year ago but no reason to go but was impressed by the facility and staff and the environment - very clean, friendly staff. This week had to take our dog to a vet due to a new symptom and decided it was time to try Stonegate out was so very impressed. From the phone call where they enquired to the nature of the ailment and was booked in for an appointment. Upon arrival the vet checked everything and made a diagnosis and gave very detailed info and instruction and took the time to explain things. The next day the clinic called to enquire how our pet was doing and if we needed to call for anything to do so. Had a lot of pets and never once has a clinic called to 'check in' post appointment! So impressed and the treatment given had our dog's symptoms subside dramatically within 8 hours. The fee was more than reasonable. I would recco Stonegate to friends and family based on my experience and definitely will return to Stonegate Animal Hospital.

Had a little emergency with our cat tonight.. and I called this vet 40 minutes before they closed on Saturday ON THE LONG WEEKEND. I wasn't expecting to be seen today. But the vet asked me some questions and told me to get my cat to him right away. He stayed open late to see our little cat. Didn't charge us extra and actually gave us a discount. He took his time cleaning and caring for the wound. I have found a new veterinarian. For my cats. I will definitely be going back. He's the type of vet you want to give your money to

I was not only impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of the physical exam, I thought Dr Panesar was exceptionally service-oriented to both our dog and to her concerned owner.
