I showed up for my appointment that i had only made on friday and they gave away my appointment time to other customers. They turned me away and asked if i wanted to reschedule.... That wasn'r going to happen! Last time I had a hefty cab fair there and back and this time I paied for a ride. Im out that cash now because they wanted to be greedy and overbook. I called and made amd agreement to be there at the appointment time and I did so whats the issue? Third Guelph Vet that I have used that are extremely unprofessional.

Me and my wife Jenny have been using Dr Basik and his team since we switched vets some years ago. We use the clinic for our personal and business needs as we are pet groomers. Since the pandemic has started they have become so busy and overwhelmed with work, they can hardly keep up. Please respect them while they try their best to accommodate you and your pets needs! Dr B is fantastic, hard to understand what he says sometimes due to his strong accent he will repeat himself if you ask nicely, he gets it. He is both a plp and pet person. Price comparison, they are better than most vets in the city and will give you the best care and treatment. We have used other vets in the past and they are more money orientated, you need this or that test. Dr B is not like that and will make suggestions that he thinks is best and will help you decide what is right for your pet. We now have 1 dog who we will be taking there to have her laid to rest as she is nearly 17 and has cancer, we wont let her suffer. When we do get another dog Dr B and his team will have our custom again with it.

This pet hospital used to be amazing, but now they fired all the good vets, and are in it for the money. The vets that are currently there gave us a prescription that was too weak for our dog’s UTI and now she has a horrible infection. We are gonna end up having to pay for the new strong medicine when it’s their fault the infection is still there! DO NOT GO HERE

They will play your heart strings and up talk you by saying they can save your pet and it's in good health, even if the best thing for your pet would be to put it down them down because it's old and suffering! Then a few weeks later and like 600$ and all this special stuff they sell you and your pet will still need to be put down and would of just suffered longer so they can get more money out of you, Save your money go else were!

This vet could care less about the animals in their care. I had to put our cat down and i could not afford the $2000 surgery AGAIN. He had been sick 6 months before and now his symptoms were back. He was suffering and needed immediate help. We had to make the choice to end his suffering. This vet turned us away in our time of need because of greed. They belittled me and told me to surrender him to the humane society. Worst vet. Completely unethical. Dont take your precious animals there.

Im so sad about the turn this pet hospital has taken. I have been with them since 2014. They have been taking care of my dog since she was little. I had her fixed there. All shots consistently. All yearly health checkups. Nails done 1x per month. Covid made the nails a bit difficult. Anyways i took my dog in because she didnt seem right. They are SUPER busy. Thats all i hear now. I NEVER see the vet anymore. My dog had to have surgery. Waited 3 weeks. Take my dog for surgery, still no contact with the vet. All contact is thru reception and everytime you speak to someone different. Each different person has something different to say and then deny what each other is saying. To be honest i feel they are currently having an in front of house issue. Its not just the lack of transparency and lack of knowledge they have about the pet you are calling about its about the attitude. Ive been treated like im annoying them. That im a bother. That they are doing me a HUGE favour and i should be happy that they even see my dog as they are so busy. Im owner shamed for my dog being sick even tho im getting everything they recommend. I was even told when i asked to be informed when surgery was over that they would try but they r so busy they might not be able to get an outside line. They messed up my dogs medication. Im still not entirely sure what all my dogs issues are. My dog is my world. I picked this vet and stayed with him because he was so caring and compassionate. His reception are now like guards. Im not even sure hes aware of how bad his customer service has become. He has zero communication with his pet parents to even know how his front of house is treating them. Im sure im not the only pet parent experiencing this. Im currently awaiting serious test results. Once i get them ill be taking my pet to a new vet. Its terrible i have to leave them. They are too busy anyways with case overload. My point in all of this is a once exceptional veterinarian clinic has become completely unprofessional and uncaring of pet parents emotional attachment to their pets. They are an assembly line pumping out work and profit. Depersonalized the clinic completely.

Please avoid this vet. My friend has been going here for 10 years and she took her dog recently and they did an X-ray and told her he has a tumour. She was heartbroken as they told her she'd most likely have to put him down. They told her to schedule an ultrasound so they could make sure. It ended up being a SHADOW and they still charged my friend $900! That is outrageous. Incredibly unprofessional and incompetent. I took my puppy here but will be switching after hearing about her experience.

I highly recommend Speedvale Pet Hospital. Dr. Basak is an excellent surgeon. He quickly saw my dog on an emergency basis and performed surgery right away to remove a foreign object from her stomach. The support staff were amazing as well. Their office is well equipped and very clean. My dog went in on Thursday very sick and came out on Friday happy and relieved. The price for these services was itemized and very reasonable. We will continue to bring our dog to this clinic.

I’ve had my beautiful puppy for 9 months now. I’ve gone to this vet for everything. The workers seem to love their job and the atmosphere, they’re always kind and ensure they’ve given all of the necessary information needed. They have always done their best to accommodate my schedule, without making me wait for weeks on end. I’ve called on sundays and Saturday’s because of an emergency and realized they weren’t open AFTER the vet had me bring my pup in... My pup had a stomach issue, and they looked over everything and gave me the medicine for her, she was perfect and healthy 2 days later. I called around asking what other vets charge for the same issue, and it was just over double of what I was charged. When I brought her in, they didn’t charge me for a “check-up” and they have done her nails at no extra cost whenever we go in. I would pay everything I have for my dog to be healthy, but it makes me feel more comfortable knowing the staff here aren’t taking “advantage” of our animals wellbeing by over charging their services and products like other vets so they can make more money and exclude families who can’t afford to pay double, or triple the amount. I would recommend this vet office. My dog is never scared to go into the vet, and always happy when she sees all the nurses and the vet. They truly try their best to make sure your pets are healthy and happy!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. B and his vet techs/staff. I've taken both my French Bulldogs Opie and Olla to this clinic since they were puppies for 4+ years for both surgeries, emergencies, and annual wellness check-ups. Dr. B is not only a kind and compassionate vet, but also an amazing and highly skilled surgeon (he's done a tail amputation, nose jobs, spay/neuter, teeth removal, x-rays for back injury) without any complications. He is incredibly fair with his prices yet does not compromise the quality of care provided. He nor his staff have ever tried to upsell me on unnecessary tests or procedures, and you can tell they really do this for the love of animals. I don't even live in Guelph anymore, yet still travel a hour and a half to have my dogs taken care of by this amazing vet and clinic. I don't trust anyone else with my dogs!

My dog gets ear infections has been to see vet number of times and was there less then 6 mths ago . They have given me meds for dog in past without having an examine . Not this time they said I had to see vet ( seems to get more money from me ) can't afford examine and meds so had to leave my dog with infection. THEY ARE USING MY DOG TO GET MORE MONEY PLAN AND SIMPLE. DO NOT TRUST THEM ANYMORE. lucky I have a bit of meds left from last time for her.

Okay for regular checks ups and vaccines and their prices are fair, but I wouldn't take my pets back for more serious issues. Doctor misdiagnosed my dog after looking at an x-ray for one minute and said it was time to put her down, after checking with a few other vets this was totally not the case. Very disappointed with our last visit & would no longer recommend

Not too sure if it was bad timing. But I'm not sure how this place got 5 stars people. I went once this week, my wife spoke to them and agreed they'd get a vaccination shot, nails done and a 6 month flea and tick pill. In return my dog got three needles, two which they didn't need, no nails done and no 6 months flea and tick treatment. The price was suppose to be $160ish for the agreed work. Instead I paid $180, nails done poorly and no treatment. I also don't agree with the owners having to wait outside while they milk the owners for cash. We are past that stage now don't you think. Be careful though! UPDATE! Just wanted to follow up to our bad experience at Speedvale Pet store, cause it ain't a Hospital. My wife and I agreed we would give them another shot. At the end of the day we just want the best care for our dogs at a reasonable price where it's convienence When we pulled up and contacted them to let them know we are outside. The receptionist told us the doctor wanted to speak to us. When he came out he questioned us regarding the review we gave him. After trying to explain the situation with him. He wanted none of it, didn't apologize for what happened and turned us away. Now that's great and all, I tried to tell the unprofessional doctor he should be the one apologizing for the way my dog was handle and the lack of attention considering the money we ended up spending, that wasn't agreed on by the way. He pretty much said we were trouble for him. I guess I should have just said nothing and walked away while they rip us off. Any ways good luck if you continue to risk your animals life with this place. I would rather drive an hour to my old vet any day.

I will be forever grateful to Dr. Basak, Myrna. And all the staff at Speedvale Pet Hospital. If it weren't for them my beautiful cat wouldn't be with us anymore. These people really care about the animals that they attend to and their prices are very fair comparatively. The place is clean, well organized. Oh, and this all happened early Saturday morning through Monday and Dr. Basak came in to check on her and feed her on his day off and also a few times after hours on Saturday. Communication was fantastic as I got text updates that I requested so I could keep up to date on her condition. Thank you so much! I am so lucky to have gone here.

I took my syrian hamster here because I was worried he was sick. He was underweight and scratching a lot. The veterinarian told me that he was "very healthy" and only anxious. I lost my little guy three days later. So tell me how a "very healthy" hamster dies three days later. DO NOT TAKE HAMSTERS HERE!

I bring my bunny here and I trust they know what they are doing (It's hard to find a vet that actually has in depth knowledge on rabbits) - The receptionist actually runs a bunny sanctuary and was very helpful. VERY good prices too.. I called every vet in Guelph to inquire about prices for a general check up for rabbits and they had the best price.

Dr Basak and his team are nothing short of amazing,. Three weeks ago My dog Max was quickly diagnosed by Dr Basak and with a lot of explanation from him & it ultimately being my decision, with no pressure ,sent for further testing including an ultrasound and biopsy done at a Specialty hospital in Toronto. It could have been almost impossible due to Covid to even get an appointment as they were so backed up but his staff was very diligent and got the appt within a week. Max was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer and Dr B ensured that I totally understood what was going on & what to expect from the minute the dx was made. At this stage nothing can be done surgically. The most practical thing we can do for 7 yr old Max (Border Collie x ) now is provide Quality of life. Dr B has always been readily available to speak with me on the phone if I have concerns, and advised me if an emergency should arise with Max over the next few weeks that I could call him at any time. It’s not all about the money or pushing for unnecessary testing at this clinic as in comparison the prices are excellent. Dr B has not gotten a lot of money out of me at this point so it’s not the money. Dr B has shown me over & above the highest level of compassion , knowledge & professionalism . I would HIGHLY recommend Speedvale Pet Hospital.
