Dr. Parsons was amazing when my Golden Retriever's abdominal staples which were done at Kennedy Animal Hospital had totally let go - and Kennedy's refused to see her because they were closing. Then again this September Dr. Parsons treated our beloved Retriever just moments before she passed away. I have never encountered such warn, kind, and competent hands before and I'll never go to another vet so long as she's around. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Dr. Parsons and her staff are phenomenal.

Wonderful people who love animals and are very knowledgeable. They have a dog (animal?) behaviourist who is amazing. Appointments are recommended. There is a dirt parking lot that should be sufficient for any visitors. They also sell certain animal foods, treats etc. if you are in need.

The staff are so friendly and excellent with their patients. My 9 month old pup went in, had her vaccinations and came back out to the vehicle happy and tail wagging. Of course she had treats there. The vet then came out to see if we had any questions.

My partner and I went home to Cape Breton in early July to visit my parents. They love their “granddogs”. Shortly after arriving, our 10 year old Havanese suffered an unexpected injury and could not stably support himself with his hind legs or walk. I called all of the vet clinics in and around Sydney and the one in Baddeck; none of the clinics would see my dog. Thankfully, the team at the Northside Animal Hospital came to the rescue! Even though the clinic was at capacity and with only one veterinarian on duty on the day I called, they still managed to squeeze my dog in to see Dr. White. We are very grateful and forever indebted to everyone at the clinic for the care our dog received. I’d like to thank Dr. White and the entire team for their kind, compassionate ways and thorough clinical assessment. Dr. White spoke at great length with us about her findings and her recommendations for his care. Thanks to the NSAH team, we were able to enjoy our time at home knowing our dog was well looked after. The team at the Northside Animal Hospital sent the records to our veterinarian in Toronto, who referred him to a surgeon. If you want the very best in pet care in Cape Breton, I whole-heartedly recommend the compassionate, skilled, and friendly folks in North Sydney!

Honestly should be giving a one-star but I'm giving a five stars people can understand that this place is horrible they only care about the money, they literally told my friend that we needed to go to Sydney for her rats to get medical attention not just that her dog got stung by a wasp and they didn't even bother to help her or nothing so my friend ended up having to remove it herself and the dog could barely move her arm for days this place is horrible and only care about the money. It's a vet, it's you're job to help animals who are hurt

The staff are so knowledgeable and so wonderful to interact with!! I love our vet, she is so sweet!! Every visit is great! Except the day when we had to say goodbye to our basset hound, Katie, because of cancer. Our vet and her assistant were so kind!! My husband, our youngest daughter and myself were in the room with Katie for alone time and when they entered, it was so terrible for my family and the staff were beyond kind!! They made the transition so easy for Katie and when it became too hard for me and I run out, they were wonderful. They gave us a clay disc with Katie's paw print in it and had her wrapped up in a blanket so snug, it was as if she went to sleep. God bless them all here!!

I don't feel judged when I may be asking silly questions while worrying about my fur babies. It is very reasonably priced as well. They even called to check on my kitten a few days after I was in which showed me that they genuinely cared!

Brought my 18mth old dog there to get fixed. I had questions about what the detailed procedure would be the vet came out to my car already had her back up instead of explaining things it was more as if I offended her and asking questions. The other staff are very pleasant. However, my pup went in at 8:15 I got the call to come and get him that he was done at 11:30. I got him home his eyes were still rolling in the back of his head his breathing was labored I thought he was going to die I called the vet they said just keep an eye on him in my mind they released him way too early and they should have been observing him for longer I had a hand feed him water to make sure he didn't dehydrate.

Taking my cat to the vet has always been an uneasy experience for the two of us. Being our first time at Northside Animal Hospital, they had us in for an appointment within a timely manner compared to every where else in Sydney that wouldn’t take us at all, were booked until late august or would see us for an extra $120-$150 next day. They were great with my cat, gave me every option available for treatment and didn’t proceed until explaining everything and made it an over all great experience. With covid we aren’t aloud in with our animals which was worrisome but they made you feel comfortable and could tell she was in safe hands.I found the process of waiting outside and calling /texting to be a good alternative to being able to go in. I highly recommend Northside Animal Hospital, they are worth the drive from Sydney and I’m glad we now have a reliable place to go to that doesn’t have to be a scary experience.
