I was told by another vet that my dog's cough was asthma was recommended that I use my puffer on him and get him some acupuncture in Carleton Place. Coughing got worse and our vet office cut me off after 12 years. Dr Michaud took us in and indicated that my dog wasn't asthmatic-- he was I'm the stages of congestive heart failure! Needless to say, Dr Michaud is now our vet!

I have a literal life and death matter with my.pug and waited all day for.this Dr. Michaud to call back. I tried to reach him 3 times in one day and kept getting the answer that he is busy! I get it but I needed 5 minutes of this doctors time! Disgusting, the lady vet that used to work there would always call back within the hour. Clearly this vet doesn't care and I will take my business elsewhere! I talked very highly of this clinic until today and will never recommend you to anyone one of.my.fur baby friends again! Microaggression Today I came in to get my kitten checked and I know things happen sometimes but this place is always 45 minutes behind appointments so that's something to consider if you're looking for a new vet. I was told Dr. Michaud was doing a surgery so I was pretty understanding & patient about the situation. Once admitted, I let him know I speak English to which he replied "Here in Quebec we speak French" Of course I'm not taking it personally, I'm aware that I have nothing to do with other people's ignorance and lack of self awareness. I only hope that in this field which calls for a lot of empathy and compassion, that our health professionals are encouraged to continually educate themselves. I have no doubt that all the positive reviews here are accurate and I'm truly happy for those who had a good experience. I am leaving this review to raise awareness and maybe even encourage self reflection. I have contacted other vets but unfortunately because of COVID-19, they can't accept new clients yet so we will keep our appointments to have our kitten vaccinated. I would like to mention though that their veterinary assistants and receptionists are lovely and efficient.

After spending 740$ at the emergency hospital in Ottawa and getting NO result or diagnostic on Saturday, I saw Dr. Michaud on Monday. He performed a life saving surgery (really bad uterine infection and loss of blood) on Tues morning. The compassion, professionalism and honesty shown by Dr. Michaud and the staff I met (Martine and Marguerite) helped us get through. Thank you!! You have restored my faith in people.

They want what's best for your pet, but also what's best for you and your family. I've never felt rushed in an appointment. On the contrary, I've often felt like I was the only client in the place. I take my dog here and receive amazing vet service when I do. They do thorough examinations and are reasonably priced. My difficulty is the inability to reach anyone most of the time. To book appointments is difficult. I often do not receive callbacks and have to call myself. Also, I once had an emergency with my dog and called the emergency phone number with no response. We have since moved to another vet for easier appointment booking and peace of mind for emergencies.

They do take good care of your animal and the prices are cheap. BUT they are always running behind (30 minutes minimum) and the old vet is also very abusive with his staff. Saw it happen multiple times but the worst was when he started yelling at a tech until she burst into tears, simply for forgetting to write down the body temperature on the sheet. In the past my experiences here were fine and I’ve never had any issues. So I decided to take my cat to get spayed. When I came to pick her up, they laid her on the table and there was blood gushing out of her everywhere and they had the audacity to tell me it was normal. They noticed it was too much blood for it to be normal, took her out and left for hours. Apparently they were too incompetent to perform what I assume to be a pretty routine type of surgery and left her with so much internal bleeding that she would’ve died. Luckily she didn’t and they fixed it but tried to charge me 1200$ because they had to perform a second surgery for their mistake. It’s safe to say that I’m never coming back.

I have known this vetenerian for over 15years. He was here to give my cat his first shots, and his last one. On my dear cats last hour I called Dr.Michaud at 7:30am, and he rushed through rush hour traffic to help me and my cat. Best vet! I've seen many comments about the wait time, which I don't understand the complaint...I wait for at least 1.5 - 2 hrs to see my own family doctor, this isn't any different. Things come up while working in the medical field, it is inevitable. He's very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He takes the time to properly inform us about any concerns we may have. they took us in when no one else could however they stuck us in a room for over an hour before the dr even came in. He didn’t introduce himself. Examined my cat for not even 5 minutes and said he had Tumours in his stomach. He decided to do tests to reassure us or himself (ex-ray and ultrasound) never once told us the cost or offered us a choice. In the end he handed me a bill for 545$ (Cost Did Not even include pain meds for him) while Suggesting to euthanize him for $150. We were in shock, hurt and truly not ready to leave our 19 year old fur baby there with a stranger so we took him home. He did pass 5 days later in my care. A personal choice that wasn’t easy but don’t regret. In general I think they are non professional and are there just for the money. There was no consideration for our feelings nor my cats. ????

I had a very disappointing experience at this hospital. To start with, I was told that they were running 30 min late when I arrived for my appointment. When we did eventually see the doctor (who was very nice), our appointment seemed to take forever. We needed 2 forms to be filled out, that was it. We had already prepared a form so that the doctor could take the info from one form onto another. This SHOULD have taken 20 - 30 minutes, MAX, but it took well over an hour. Once we were finally done with our appointment, the rudest receptionist in the world proceeded to tell me that our fee had to go up significantly because of the fact that our appointment took 'forever'. She then blamed ME for the length of the appointment and expressed her displeasure that they were now ' running very behind' and that it was somehow my fault. Sorry, but how is that MY fault? The appointment was supposed to cost $60.00 plus tax, but she ended up charging me $168.00 plus tax... When I questioned her about the charges, she literally yelled at me and said that she had to charge me because it took so long. I looked her in the eye and told her that I was simply asking her a question and she then apologized for her behavior. She was, I kid you not, a very, very rude miserable woman with zero customer service skills who apparently hates her job. Horrible experience and would not recommend them to anyone. The vet himself was very nice.

J'ai entièrement confiance en eux et en leurs conseils en alimentation, dressage, comportement, exercices, trucs, etc. La technicienne a pris le temps de me faire un dessin de plusieurs angles et en coupe des griffes du chien afin que je comprenne comment les lui couper. Elle m'a montré physiquement comment le faire et recommandé un ciseau spécial puisqu'il est encore petit et que le gros coupe ongle que j'avais acheté ne sera bon que dans plus de 4-5 mois. Ils sont toujours disponibles pour répondre à toutes nos questions. Je les recommande vivement!

Very bad experience! I've even bringing my dog for over 2 years and used to love it there. I had an appointment today for an annual check up and was booked with Dr Michaud for the first time. First for all waited in the consult room for 30 minutes until I decide to ask the front desk if it was going to take long, 2 minutes later Dr Michaud opens the door halfway to tell me he was going to be late and will see me when he's done(this was alread I've waited for 30mins) closes the door behind him when I was asking how long it was going to take him, to which he answered (door closed) when I'm done. Very unprofessional, specially coming from the owner. Total dissapointment, I'm definitely never coming back!!

Called to inquire about pricing for neutering on behalf of a friend, and the male technician on the phone was incredibly rude, he rushed me through speaking in regards to the simple question I called to inquire about. All I asked for was a rough estimate, but instead of offering that information or providing any indication that he even understood my question, he said “uh, we cannot do it now, ok Bye” No it’s actually not okay, because that’s not why I called, I wasn’t asking for an appointment today. Honestly caught a vibe as though he was annoyed that 1. I called, and 2. I wasn’t speaking French, which is why my potential business with them was denied. I don’t know how their services are, but customer service speaks volumes. Absolutely no common mannerisms, niceties or direction whatsoever, tells me you’re not a clinic I would trust to perform surgeries on my animals. If you can’t even offer up 1 moment of undistracted time to answer a direct question, or even listen to the question for that matter, then I would say your ability to provide proper care to an animal is miniscule. If you’ve had a good experience with this vet then I’m glad for that, but first impressions are everything, and this one was incredibly poor. If you’re seeking a new veterinarian in the city of Quebec/surrounding areas, may I recommend Eardly or Lachute. Fantastic customer services!! - Again I was calling on behalf of a friend, so those options were not available to her, .org I would have sent her there. Good luck! ????????
