Until today, the clinic was not my regular vet but after today, I will not go anywhere else. My cat fell ill over the weekend. I had to ring around to nearly every vet in Gatineau including my regular vet, only to be told no appointments were available and to go to Ottawa's emergency. The Clinique Maloney gave me an emergency spot. The receptionist was very nice, and apparently knows the clients well given her engagement with people. The technician wasamazing, friendly and very on point to ask what was wrong along with a list of questions regarding shots, health etc... I sat waiting to hear the news, quite anxious as one would be. The vet, Dr. Sitti was very clear in what was wrong, what my cat needed in terms of medication and was so calm and even about it all, that I felt waves of relief when he filled me in. He said that although Marmite started off very friendly, purring etc... he suddenly switched moods and asked me if I thought that was that normal. Yes, said I, That is our Marmite. He is one of the most strong-willed cats I have ever owned. I add this because I like how he took note of the temperament to ensure that nothing was abnormal. Dr. Sitti ensured that the medication and routine was well explained in English after he asked me if I preferred English or French. I speak both but given that it is medical, I always prefer English to ensure that I really understand what is being said, just another small gesture that made me appreciate the service. And the receptionist called the taxi firm on my behalf. I add this for anyone who had to deal with a pet, pay and call a cab. My 'old' vet clinic would never do this for me. The receptionist even asked me twice if I was ok to get in the cab with Marmite or if I needed help. Given all of these gestures, I cannot fathom why on earth I would go anywhere else.

I have been here several times with my two parrots and must say Dr. Germain is outstanding. She is very considerate and personable, and handles the parrots (one of which is a macaw, not for the faint of heart, though she is a sweet bird) very well, and explains everything thoroughly. Very disappointed, been communicating with the receptionist and not once did she mention that I would need to drop my dog off to a staff member while I wait outside. I was extremely disappointed with this clinic. I was traveling from a distance and not familiar with the area - phoned to say I would be 5-10 minutes late - ushered into a room shortly after arrival ( greeting upon arrival for a new client left everything to be desired!) - immediately told this would be quick visit as I was late and she had another patient in 15 minutes so she would be rushing through the appointment ( it was a pre-surgery check up) no beside manner at all. Was quoted a price on the phone prior to my visit which is why I traveled to see them - once presented with the quote for surgery it was twice what I had been quoted - very very upset. Left after paying for an unnecessary visit. Would never go back and would never refer anyone to this clinic. Staff not friendly at all .

I've been taking my standard poodle here since he was a puppy (over 6 years now). It's true that the veterinarians here don't mince words. I don't think I've ever escaped an appointment without a lecture over some thing or another, but I do get the impression that they are acting in the best interest of my dog. I like that they usually give you several treatment options and tell you outright which tests need to be done now and which ones could wait until later. They also answer your questions very thoroughly.

First visit into this clinic with my two healthy parrots and I had to witness one of them die before my eyes. No staff intervened and no mention or risk with the procedure that took Kiki's life. I had to hold the oxcigen tube to her face and keep my feelings aside for her sake. Half way into the intervention the avian vet disapeared and left me balled up on the floor pumping her chest to keep her heart going. She came back with water and tissues then tried a different tactic, but I knew it was to late because she wasted precious time. When I realized that I tried all my options then I gave in. I Found her slow to act on the situation even though she presented herself as superior in the two hour conversation leading up to the whole mess. Very biased extreme views and quick to tell me at every turn that what I was doing with my parrots was wrong. When my mom left the room I tried to ask her about what might have happen. No explinaton from her witch is scary for a Doctor to say "I don't know."I got my other parrot ready to leave and they asked me who was paying !!! Had to pay for the chip that killed my Kiki!!! She asked to take it out but at that point I didn't want her touching Kiki. Also very quick after her passing wanted to have her back for an autopsy. I didn't trust Kiki in her hands because i knew she wanted to cover herself. Never once in that office did she open up. Make a long story short, I'm going to get to the bottom of this. I hope that before you ever put a finger on another parrot or bird that Kiki is in the back of your mind. There will forever be a hole in my heart. I wouldn't change a thing about the time I spent with Kiki or how I raised her. I only wish that I was a bad pet owner and never took her in to begin with. She would have lived a longer life otherwise.

Dès que je change pour la clinic inc de Maloney il me charge et repousse mes rendez vous a chaque fois que je me présente en disant qu’ils ne peuvent rien faire et me donne de nouveau médicament a payer pour son anxiété. Très mal gérer. Éviter se vétérinaire il vont traumatiser et vous charger des médicament. Essayer d’autre solution de lui donner des traites ou quel que chose pour la calmer et non toute de suite paniquer et mettre une muselière. Ces un chiot en plus très gentil mais qui est un peu anxieux et il utilise ca comme excuse pour te charger plus. ÉVITER.

During this 2020 Covid -19 time I was impressed on the safety process. I arrived with my cat and dog for their annual checkups after receiving a call the week before to fix a date. I called the receptionist from outside the parking lot in my vehicle to let them know I arrived. She told me that a technician would call me back when it was my turn. Once I received the call, I entered the waiting room (No other person was in that room). I sanitized my hands. Hand the cat carrier to the tech and she brought another leash to replace mine. (I keep the leash with me). Then I return to my vehicle and wait for a call. The vet called and then walks me through all the details I need to know for both pets. I make decisions as to what I would like done (I.e. tests, vaccine, etc). She also lets me know the costs of each item so I know what to decide. Sadly, yesterday we had to make a difficult decision for our dog. The vet proceeded with the tests needed for our cat and was understanding on waiting for me to call home to discuss with my husband as to the difficult decision we made concerning our dog. Her quality of life would quickly decline, there was nothing more that could be done. Once the hard decision was made, I called the vet back and spoke to the technician as to our decision. I was then granted permission to come in, pay the bill and then she brought our dog out and our cat in the carrier. I spent a few minutes (mask on) said my good byes, gave her 2 kisses on the snout from her mommy and daddy, scratches behind the ears and spoke softly that I understood what she was telling me with her eyes. She wanted the pain to stop. The technician came and took her collar off so I could keep it. I picked up the cat carrier with tears in my eyes and waved at her as she disappeared through the door never to be seen again. R.I.P. sweetie. (You gave us so much love during your 11 years) We gave her an extra year after her 2019 appointment and conversation with the vet (Dr. Mallette). Thank you, we are so glad to have found your clinic. It makes me feel like family. I await the pawprint plaque with her name as a memory we will treasure.

Very disappointed with this place. We took 1 of our dogs here a few months ago which was fine. However, today we had an emergency with our other dog and he was bleeding with an open gash. They searched for our file, put us on hold, couldn’t locate any information for us and then told us they were too busy to have us come in with our dog. Definitely taking both our dogs elsewhere, and would recommend anyone else carefully researches this place before committing to them.

Et la secrétaire est très très bêtes. Manque de professionnels et charge pour des chose inutile sans vous demander votre opinion. Très dommage.

We've brought our cat for some minor issues twice, and both times we've been treated well and professionally. First time we were given an appointment the next day, and the second time we were given an appointment the same day. After bringing him the second time, we had several question and Nathaelle (the vet tec we think? - awesome person) Took all the time we needed to answer our questions over the phone. Another thing is that we pride ourselves on the care and food we give to our cat - no expenses spared. We give him wet food for dinner, but dry for breakfast so we can sleep (automatic dispenser). When I told the tec I gave our cat Orijen grain free, she gave me a pamphlet on the risks of grain free - encouraged me to do research. Turns out that she was right, and after more research, we'll be switching to a much better option that is higher and protein, and lower in carbs (carbs of any kind, including those that they use instead of grains in grain-free formulas). Food made for obligate carnivore (like cats) with an even smaller amount of carbs. We're very satisfied with this clinic - and the staff particularly. They're patient and will make sure all your questions are answered. Oh and Covid wise, they have a good system that limits interactions with staff and other customers. Well done there. Highly recommend.
