My senior dog ended up at an emergency clinic a little over 24h vomiting even water and with an inflated stomach after a routine exam there. The diagnosis at the other clinic was of very advanced kidney failure, which didn't develop overnight. They missed to diagnose it even though I had described several symptoms and behaviors that were abnormal to the vet, and my dog had to be euthanized when she could have received care to ease her suffering way earlier. The vet was incapable of emptying my dog's glands and she had to endure the procedure far too long until the vet finally called a technician who did it in less than 5 minutes. On top of this, the reaction I got from receptionists when I returned to inform them that my dog had died and close the file was cold at best. No sympathy was offered at all. To be fair, a technician there was amazing. He handled my dog with great care and expertise. @clinique Vétérinaire de Hull - actually I did inform you. I handed a letter adressed to the owner of the clinic a while ago. The vet who did the examination called me to apologize but offered no explanation for the missed diagnosis and why it happened. Simply put: because there was no explanation I'm concerned this might happen again to someone else. The fact remains: the diagnosis was incorrect; as a result my dog suffered more than should have; and the follow up afterwards was not adequate in addition to the admin staff who was cold. The reason why I'm posting this now is 1) I believe the public should know 2) similar stories from other pet owners have come to my attention.

This clinic is awesome! Brought my two cats here after an awful experience at another clinic last year. I was very happy with the service. My younger cat has a eye site problem, which has not been diagnosed. Dr. Kader was very honest about the cost and informative about the situation. I did not feel pressured into spending any money I didn’t want and he was honest about his opinion of what was/wasn’t needed regarding the situation. After spending over $1200 in two days on my kitten for a spay last year, it’s a relief finding a good and honest vet ☺️

I brought my healthy 11 month old pup to get spayed at the Hull Veterinary Clinic and she was returned to me sick. Five days post-op she continues to present with an eye infection that didn't exist prior to visiting the clinic and she has a serious cough that is clearly the result of careless intubation. I contacted the clinic and was able to speak to Gen, the manager, but she refused to take any responsibility in the matter. I also asked for a free follow-up but was told I would need to pay the regular fee; after spending over $550. Further, on the day of the surgery, I was informed I could pick her up between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. but received a call at 3 p.m. to tell me I wouldn't be able to come until 7 p.m. because their surgery schedule was running late. I had already arranged for transport and work to pick her up at 4 o'clock, so receiving only one hour's notice seems unreasonable to me. I was also told the morning of the surgery that she would be operated on in the a.m., so I don't understand why they didn't phone shortly after noon to advise that they were running late... Too logical, maybe. Once they get paid, they seem to have little value for their customers. Positive note: the front desk staff is friendly enough... but that's not any different from other veterinary offices I've been to.

This is the best veterinary clinic I’ve ever been too. They treat all of my pets and it is very obvious how much all the staff care for each animal that comes to the clinic. Friendly desk service, clean and nice facilities, and great treatment from the techs and vets.

Dr. Kader and staff were absolutely wonderful! They took their time to discuss with me and reassure me that I am doing the best I can. I took my cat there for the first time, as I just got her in the summer after moving to Gatineau/Hull! I have had cats previously but most were while I lived with my parents and had someone with more experience to rely on. I really liked my experience. We brought in our dog because he had a lump in his throat. They took him right away, and ran the necessary tests immediately. What I appreciated most was how knowledgeable they are. They really know whay they're doing. They are organized, and extremely clean. The only negative comment would be the price! This is the best veterinarian clinic in the Outaouais region bar none. My 11 year old German Shepherd was very sick and had to be euthanised. While no other vet in Gatineau/Hull/Aylmer would book an appointment for my dog despite the fact that she was suffering, the Clinique Veterinaire de Hull agreed to give her an emergency appointment and to end her suffering. I'm grateful the Veterinarian and the staff at this clinic were so professional and empathetic. Thank you for being there for Maggie Mae. May she rest in peace.

I've never had any problems here and have brought all of my pets throughout the years here to get fixed. **EDIT** I wanted to edit this review because recently, one of cats had a emergency and needed surgery and I brought her here. I was worried that because of the pandemic, it would not be possible. I could not of been more wrong, not only did the staff here take tremendous care of my animal but they quickly brought her in, reassured me, and helped me figure out everything I would need during the hard time of taking care of her. For days afterwards they called in the morning to ask how she was doing, if anything was wrong and I could not be more happy with the service offered here. They saved her life, and saved my own throughout one of the hardest times watching her recover. I would give this place ten stars if I could.

I used to love going to see my vet back before the merge, every time I've gone there since they merged the service I receive is horrible, the prices jacked right up, the communication is not there, and they don't have the compassion for animals as they used to. My animal has incredible anxiety to the point it makes every day incredibly difficult for him. I used to love my vet because they helped make him feel safe and make going to the vet not terrifying. The last few times I went they refused to let me be with him because of covid protocol. Before the merge they would make an exception because of the extremity of his anxieties and how badly it affects him after each visit. This time, I was told they would take him to the room and come get me in a few minutes. 30 Minutes later my dog is howling in fear in one of the rooms and no one is responding to my concerns and confusion. Finally, they bring my pet out and he's shaking, terrified and whining. They charged me for a extra service that I did not not request or receive. Then they refused to give me my pets medication without my paying for the extra fee. I told them they were being unprofessional and the response from the manager was quote "yes, we're unprofessional" and completely ignored my concerns about being lied to about going into the room and for charging me a random extra fee. Very disappointed

Was recommended this clinic...and it was absolutely the worst service iv ever gotten in my entire life. The veterinarian Sarah Nazir is so inexperienced and does not seem educated. She doesn't seem to know anything and unsure of what she was doing, she almost pumped air into my dog/hesitating to give him his shots, and was scared that he was nervous and shaky not even helpful, my husband and i kept on asking ourselves why do vets hire young unprofessional like this? One of the women at the front desk gave my dog a cat treat instead of dog treat! I would of sued her if anything went wrong with my dog and shut them down. Even the customer service and the front desk women were snobby and showed attitude towards everyone. I regret even paying them or even going there in the first place. Never ever going there again and will let everyone know how unprofessional this vet is. i rather pay the extra 70 bucks in Orleans for my puppies first vet visit, but no i cheapened out. Never again, i learnt my lesson. Unbelievable i am so angry.

This was by far the best vet visit we have ever had! The vet (and clinic owner) was extremely knowledgeable, got straight to the point, was very friendly and wasn't condescending. His priority clearly was our cat's well-being; it felt more like a doctor's appointment and not like a transaction (which is the experience I have had at other clinics). He answered all of our questions and was very accommodating, giving us different options in different price ranges to allow us to choose the best treatment for our cat without breaking our budget. We will definitely return and I highly recommend taking your pets there!

I had always had good service with this clinic and have always been to their homes for the lifetimes of all of my pets for over a decade, until yesterday the vet I saw with my dog , although very kind, take the exam, give 2 of the 3 vaccines my dog needed and view the file on his computer. After a few seconds, she gives me a mega pitch for the sale of products against fleas, heart glasses etc etc, telling me that I can make an appointment for free with a technician to obtain all these products. I said I would think about it, but I had the brilliance to remember that a vaccine was missing. Well, her sales pitch done, I can assure you that she made the conscious decision to omit that NOT to remind me that my dog's rabies vaccine is due in less than 6 months AND to omit that. 'she could give it at the same time. When I asked the question, she tried to convince me to come back in August so that I could pay for a full test instead of renewing the vaccine which costs $ 15.50! She even tried to make me believe that I would not get my money's worth for the vaccine, which is good for 3 years, whereas in return I should have paid another $ 75.50 in August (vs. an additional $ 15.50 now)!! I can understand that the clinic makes its money from the consultations and the exams, but this deliberate act of handing me a tree to make a little more $ 60 with me annoyed me to the utmost. What saddens me even more is that I even bothered to call so that I could speak to the manager of the who never returned my call. Lesson: take note of the vaccines your pets have and always ask for refills / boosters and ask all the questions because you are going to pass a tree! (Original) Hier je suis passé pour un rendez-vous annuel et un rappel de vaccin avec un de mes deux animaux. J'avais toujours eu un bon service avec cette clinique et je suis toujours allé chez eux pour toute la vies de tous mes animaux depuis plus d'une décennie, jusqu'à ce que hier, la vétérinaire que j'ai vu avec mon chien, bien que très gentille, fasse l'examen, donne 2 des 3 vaccins que mon chien avait besoin et consulte le dossier sur son ordinateur. Apres quelques secondes, elle me fait un méga pitch de vente de produits contre les puces, les verres du cœur etc etc en me disant que je peux prendre rendez-vous gratuitement avec une technicienne pour obtenir tous ces produits. J'ai répondu que j'y penserait mais j'ai eu la brillance d'esprit de me rappeler qu'il manquait un vaccin. Eh bien, son pitch de vente fait, je peux vous assurere qu'elle a délibérément volontairement pris la décision d’omettre que PAS me rappeler que le vaccin de la rage de mon chien est dû dans moins de 6 mois ET d’omettre qu’elle pouvait le donner en même temps. Quand j’ai posé la question, elle a essayé de me convaincre de revenir en aout pour que j'aille a repayer un examen complet au lieu de renouveler le vaccin qui coute 15.50$! Elle a même essayer de me faire croire que je n’en aurait pas pour mon argent pour le vaccin qui est bon pour 3 ans alors qu'en contrepartie j'aurais dû payer un autre 75.50$ en aout (vs. un 15.50$ additionnel maintenant)!! Je peux comprendre que la clinique fait son argent avec les consultations et les examens, mais cet acte délibéré de me passer un sapin pour faire un petit 60$ de plus avec moi m'a horripilé au plus haut point. Ce qui me désole encore plus est que j'ai même pris la peine d’appeler afin de pouvoir en parler à la gestionnaire de la qui n'a jamais retourné mon appel. Leçon: prenez note des vaccins que vos animaux ont et demandez toujours pour les renouvellements/boosters et posez toutes les questions car vous allez vous faire passer un sapin!

Great service at this clinic. Our cat was in a fight last week and suffered a bite that quickly led to an infection. We took her to the Clinique Veterinaire de Hull for treatment. Rather than running a bunch of expensive and unnecessary tests, the vet recommended antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine, which we agreed seemed like the right course of treatment. Within two days, our cat was feeling great. The clinic even followed up with a courtesy call a few days later to see how she was doing -- much appreciated! This place will be our first choice from now on.

I took my cat to get spayed today and was instructed that drop off was at 8:00am-8:30am and pick up was between 4pm-5pm. I was also told that if my cat was ready to go prior to 4pm, I would receive a call to pick her up. 1hour before pickup time, I get a call and am told that because they had a lot of cats today, my cat won't be ready until 7pm!! I explained that I booked off work to make it and have to travel later today. I asked if it was possible to skip her before other cats as this is very last minute news and that I cannot cancel my trip. They repeated that they had many cats that day and that I can reschedule to another day if I prefer... The staff was very polite and professional but I find their times very inconvenient and I am disappointed that although they knew how many cats they had this morning, they weren't able to give me a realistic time for pickup. I may come back for services offered on the weekends, but I am disappointed with their spaying schedule and would suggest you go to a clinic that does not spay 16 cats in one day.

Very disappointed... Took the cat in without me because of covid, totally understandable. But then, they called the wrong telephone number and gave a family member the instructions instead of just talking to me while I was in the vet... Then they refused to give me back the instructions and information by telling me that they "don't have time to repeat themselves"...Kind of weird... Also, they charged me medications for my cat without even taking the time to tell me how to even apply it.... They were a good vet before... I am afraid that is no more the case...

We recently moved to Gatineau. We were looking to have a Vet for our buns. We understand that the clinic is not taking any new clients. However, the customer service experience of explaining to a customer that unfortunately no places are available for new customers. No smile. No friendly tone. Just a dry and unfriendly statement when you haven't finish to speak.... "we are not taking new clients." When I was googling about the clinic and the reviews, it was overall positive, but after this experience just with the first face that you see when you enter the clinic, I guess... So happy you don't want my business.

One morning I woke up to my kittens very sick and I was very desperate to seek advice and comfort from this local veterinary clinic only to be treated awfully by Dr. Kader. He was completely unsympathetic and made me feel like I'm wasting his time instead of being treated as a valued, PAYING client. It's my first time having pets, google was a scary place when reading about their symptoms, so I had hoped to receive factual information delivered in the way they doctors are taught, and not throwing a bunch of scary terms casually around like "it could be lethal, could be HIV, etc. etc.". When it came to making a decision about a procedure for my kitten, he didn't want to provide insight and he refused to give me his advice on what he would do in my situation, and instead told me "you have to take responsibility for your decisions". I even told him that I did not study animal medicine to be able to safely take a decision as such, whereas his knowledge and expertise should help with making the right choice. He literally walked out of the room for ten minutes or so. Honestly, terrible service in all. Hope you can be kinder and more informative to your other clients.

I needed to get my dog spayed/neutered. I was told because of her size, weight and age, it would cost a bit more for her surgery. I was told by several clinics in Ottawa it would be in between 800$ - 1000$. Then I found this clinic! It only cost me around 630$ with blood work and iv fluids. They even clipped her nails for free!! There were no complications with my dogs surgery and her stitches are healing well. My cat had rotten teeth, I think he had gingivitis as well and the vet made us do tons of treatment and biopsy to see what was wrong with him since every time he would eat he would panic because it hurt too much and just run away and not eat. And all along his damm teeth were rotting ( it doesn't take a diploma to know what rotting teeth look like, I saw it) my mom payed over 2 000$ to help him and we were going broke and eventually it got too much he was loosing weight and it was heart breaking to see him suffer so we had to put him down. But if he vet would've just looked at his teeth in the first place instead of trying to make money he would still be here today. He was just a baby 2 years old and the first cat that was all mine! ????

CVH is an amazing veterinary clinic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate staff, a great location, and fair prices. I took my elderly cat there for renal problems and eventually took him back to be euthanized when his health took a turn for the worst. Everyone involved made a really hard day a whole lot easier. Edit: update to review. Our little guy has had bladder issues so we did a urine sample as requested by the vet. Dropped it off on April 15 2019 and they did the testing right away but said a vet would call with the results.... have been calling 2 times a week for the last 3.5 weeks and have not gotten any vet callback with our pups urine results. Finally got a callback but still upset with front admin staff. Took our Goldendoodle to the Vet last night for his 12 week vaccinations. Our first vet visit with our puppy as our breeder had done the 8 week shots at their own Vet. We live in Ontario and the parking lot of this vet was filled with Ontario plates. The front staff is extremely friendly and was interacting with our dog as we waited for our appointment. The vet tech and vet were also great and very friendly with our puppy. Happily going back in 4 weeks time for our puppies 16 week vaccinations.

I was a very loyal and happy customer up until recently. I lived in Ottawa and would visit regularly. I moved in from Ottawa and decided I would move close to them so I could continue to see their team with my dog. As of late, I have found the staff to be less than courteous and helpful, along with quite short. This, specific to having cancelled an appointment, and having explained why I was doing so. My concern was not acknowledged at all. This related to a poor diagnostic I was issued. The receptionist did not make my experience a positive one. I have not enjoyed being made to feel as though my loyalty is not valued.

We like our vet but the constant pushing to spay our dog was almost aggressive. Our dog is a breeder dog and have a contract with a good breeder. They kept asking me to schedule the operation over and over even if I told them that it won't happen until a while. I also request a progesterone test this year. They told me they will call me the next day since they need the vet to know which test to use and they never did. I called back the next day and my request was apparently closed. They did that twice without actually contacting me. We went to the breeder clinic instead and we will keep going there from now on. Sad because we like our vet!

We have been taking our adopted dog "Gibson" to see Doctor Kader and his wonderful staff for the past 8.0 years.. It was a pleasure dealing with this clinic. We had to put our dog down this past weekend (Feb 28 2015), and through doctor Kader our wonderful pet dog went calmly and peacefully. So I waited 2 weeks to write my review just to see if there was any kind of follow through from this place. There wasn’t. 2 weeks ago I took my dog in for teeth cleaning. I’ll admit it, this is not our regular vet. The cost is less on the Quebec side so after reading reviews we selected this clinic. First they call me to tell me the dog has many health problems and they need our approval to go ahead with anesthetic as it risky in such cases. The dog was suffering with an infection in his mouth so we needed to clean his mouth up. We worryingly gave our approval. Then after a couple of hours the vet calls and says 10 teeth NEED to come out as they are all rotten. This will require further 3 hours of anesthetic bringing us to the maximum 5 hours allowed. Was he asking out of concern for the dog’s health under anesthetic? No, just whether we wanted to pay or not. That should have been my first clue; first they tell me anesthetic is risky then they ask for the max! However, I trust the vet knows what he is doing and tell him to go ahead and get these rotten teeth out. Then the vet calls again 2 1/2 hours later to tell me that these “rotten” teeth were so strong he had to cut and drill and cut and drill just to get out only 4 teeth! He had reached the max time and had to sew up his work. He also told me to make a follow up appointment in 2 weeks and to see “only him”. Why would he continue to cut and drill to remove teeth that were so solid he had to spend nearly an hour per tooth? My conclusion? Hubris and greed. The vet was too proud to not take out any teeth after he told me there was at least 10 rotten teeth and if he had approval to go to the max, he might as well and get the money. The request to see “only him” for follow up was my second red flag. I am sure he doesn’t want anyone else to see what he did in my dog’s mouth. Did anyone from the clinic follow up in the few days after this invasive surgery to see how my dog was doing? No. Did anyone follow up to see why I hadn’t made the 2 week appointment? No. This clinic is expanding their building and probably their staff. All the good reviews seem to be before this expansion. To my mind this is a case of this clinic forgetting its roots. There were too many good reviews not to choose this clinic. Now, however, if you’re coming from Ontario for a good deal remember: You get what you pay for. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this clinic and I will not be brining my dog back to have 6+ solid teeth removed for thousands of dollars more just to help fund the new construction.

I have been coming there over for 2 years. However, in my last visit there for my cat, we were not able to get inside because of the COVID-19 restrictions. My cat is kind of hard to control and she stress too much if we are not around her. We vaccinated our cat there and we have no idea how they vaccinated her, and since that day, she has totally different attitude. Hiding, not eating well and etc. I was able to get inside in our last visits and doctors were more eligible to do the vaccine with me while I hold her. Right now, she changed a lot and its been a month that she is like this. I will not come there again! If you have a pet that scares from other people and scratches them, don’t let them to take in inside without you!

I have been with this clinic for 7 years with two pets, and generally everything was fine until recently. However, CVH is apparently merging with another clinic, which they appear to be completely unprepared for. There is no longer anyone answering the phone (ever), it takes a week or more to receive a call back, and good luck getting an appointment (I was told that the next available time is in a month and a half). I am now forced to switch clinics. This is completely unprofessional. Take your business elsewhere.

Incredibly professional and affordable! Our kitten needed surgery because of an intestinal blockage, and they took extremely good care of him. They didn't push for any unnecessary procedures and they thoroughly informed us of every step along the way, including a detailed run down of the cost (which was significantly lower than anywhere else). Worst customer service ever. They just want your money and then for you to leave until the next time they can take your money. Went to pay my bill and my credit card didn't work so I had to pay them something so I used my debit card. The next day I come in to get the debit card refunded and pay it back with a credit card. They say it's no problem then moments later flat out refuse. I said I'd cover the cost of the fees for interac and visa and they still refuse. It makes no sense they still get their money nothing changes it's just a different form of payment. I can't believe their attitude. They just didn't care once the deposit is made the money is gone. too bad so sad. I've never been treated so poorly. I said i'd never come back and they said "you don't have to do that". so you still want my future money good luck. Look for a clinic that cares about the customer.

I saw lots of recommendations online to come to this clinique to get my newly adopted, medium/large dog neutered at a more affordable price. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. But, before we left our dog we asked the nurse if we should take his harness off and put his leash on his actual collar. The nurse said, "No, you can leave him as he is," so I left it on him. Everyone was so pleasant... And like, it's a harness, they can handle it... apparently not. When we picked him up the nurse claimed my dog had chewed it up in his cage because he was nervous. I didn't think too much of it and took it home with me. When I examined it at home, it was a clean cut right next to the clasp. I had adopted my dog for less than 4 months and the harness was $70. So, in the end I didn't save much money and was lied to in the face. Never going back. If they lie about something as little as this I just cannot trust my dog being under their care.

This is a great veterinary clinic. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We have 5 companion animals and we have seen all four vets at this clinic and had excellent experiences with all of them, except for one. As a result of that particularly negative interaction, I was only able to give the clinic 4 stars. They were very supportive of my anxious dog and have great hours for drop-off and pick up, if you work full-time. I do not hold the clinic responsible for the one bad experience I had with Dr. Nazir. She was very critical and alarmist and was not successful in communicating health information about my dog in a proactive and/or cooperative way. In my view, she lacks professionalism and interpersonal skills and I will definitely request to not see her again. To end on a positive note, I brought in my son with me one day (he is on the Autism Spectrum) and he was having a bit of trouble adjusting to the noise/smells in the clinic. The front desk staff went out of their way to help support me by offering to hold my two large dogs so I could support his entry into the building. After we came in, they provided my son with fun things to play with, which helped make him feel comfortable. Their kindness and understanding that morning especially was so very appreciated. Thank you for your professionalism and compassion for our family!

Poor service, unfriendly staff, quoted us for an all-included neuter(as I shopped around, called multiple places for the best price) but when we arrived we found out we'd be paying almost double what they had quoted us. Woman at the front desk suggested blood work on our 1 year old dog, which we agreed to. When we picked him up, another staff member asked us why we were doing blood work on a dog so young(under 5 they said). I also noticed my dog was shaved in 3 seperate spots, I'm not sure why as they only needed to use needles twice. They also managed to take a large chunk out of the hair on his left ear. Very unprofessional. Super unimpressed. They also could not tell us when our dog was due for his rabies shot, I've only ever brought him to this vet. One staff member told us he was due for his rabies shot in a week,then another staff member told us he wasn't due until July 2022. After a third check by another staff member, they decided he was in fact due for his rabies shot. How am I supposed to have any confidence in a vet like this? Their own staff members have no idea what's going on. I will be looking in to a refund, and other options. Please make sure you triple check everything with these people. They're trying to milk you out of as much money as possible. I do not recommend this vet to anyone. I will also note that we tried to express our concerns to the staff and they were not friendly in return.

They need to work on their customer service. Our favorite vet is now with this group, my friends have opted to go elsewhere since the merge due to the lack of customer care at the front desk and the difficulty in getting to see our own vet. I did have one of my dogs die while waiting to visit this clinic. In the past we could get in to see our vet within a day or two, since the merge with this place it's a week or two, enough time for your dog to die. This place seems to be all about making sure people pay the max allowable rather than saving pets in need. They need to change if they want to get good reviews. I will continue to see our vet here because he is the greatest however we hope to never have another emergency because this place clearly doesn't care about anything but money. The personal touch that we had and felt at Lac Lemey just isn't t present here.

I am changing my 5 star review to a 1 star review in hopes this will somehow convey the message to them that their phone booking system is unreasonable. I've been a client with them for approx. 5 years now and have always gotten a call back within 24 hours when leaving a message to book an appointment. I have been trying to make an appointment for weeks now and we are just playing phone tag. As soon as you miss their call back (i.e. you couldn't answer the phone while driving), you have to call back and leave another message and wait a few days for a call back. This is getting stressful as I've been watching my phone constantly for two weeks. We would rather book an appointment with our usual vet there (Dr. Legacy) who is great, lovely and knows our pet's history well, but I now have to find a brand new vet for my 14.5 year old dog because I just can't wait much longer for an appointment (we are looking at least at another month until there are availabilities). I would recommend anyone looking for a new vet clinic to save themselves some trouble and skip this one. Furthermore, I think current clients should start finding another clinic for their pet to save themselves the trouble and stress of booking an appointment when their pet really needs it.

But the receptionists some ones think we are going to beg for free assistance. You should see their faces and the way they talk to us the customers. If you want to have an appointment there they will give you one but don't think is going to be 2 days after, or 1 week after, at least 2 weeks after, will be 1 month and the half after. That's not professional. I won't back any more to Clinique Vétérinaire de Hull. They are not anymore nice for me or my pet. With my money I can go any other place. Good luck if you want to go there, better take care of your pet. Look for another clinic.

We got our dog fixed there and have to say i was satisfied with the procedure. They are a bit chaotic up front though, and seem a bit disorganized. We've been going there for about a year because we also have a cat that is diabetic. We have to go once a month to pick up insulin, we are never recognized, they always ask us the same questions (if we had used it before, even after bringing in a box of used syringes) etc etc. However this is not why I am giving them two stars. When our cat first go diagnosed the vet suggested pro zinc insulin because he has had the best results with it. We agreed, and it has been costing us about 140 dollars every 40 days. When we finally decided we had enough of their chaotic service, we brought our cat to another vet. He asked us which insulin we used, we said pro zinc. He said he usually goes with another one but it was a bit more expensive. We are like great, more money! And then he gives us the price.....40 freaking dollars. The pro zinc there was actually cheaper, like 37 dollars. I just feel gutted. Perhaps we were buying the name brand insulin, but we were never told there were cheaper alternatives. The fact that we were overpaying 100 dollars a vial for a year just makes me really upset. If your animal has any conditions that needs medicine, i would advise to call other vets and see what their prices are. Don't just take their advice blindly because they are obviously unconcerned about your wallet.

We brought 2 of our cats here. One for sterilization surgery and a displaced hip, and one who had been diagnosed with diabetes. The staff are bilingual and really understanding and takes the time to answer questions and propose various treatment or diagnostic test options for us to make an informed decision. We were in touch with the vet who diagnosed our diabetic cat for almost 2 years on a biweekly/monthly basis and almost daily for the first few weeks. It was amazing to see how much they care and want the best for the pets. Prices are much more affordable than vets in Ontario. Our female sterilization was $180 when we had received multiple quotes of $380+ in Ottawa. Highly recommended.

Brought my cat in for blood work and urine analysis. Was told it could take up 72 hours. 11 days later I am still calling trying to track down results. I finally get to speak to the vet and my cat is diagnosed with with diabetes. She tells me to schedule an appointment with a vet tech to go over how to give insulin etc. I schedule an appointment and show up .. I sit there for 20 minutes before I am even acknowledged. I get into the office where they tell me I was suppose to pick up my prescription before hand. I did check my messages afterward and had a message from the night before telling me to come pick up my prescription but I live in Kanata and they are in hull. They tell me if I have any questions do not hesitate to call. I call 9 days into treatment because my cats sugar is dangerously low and it's time for her insulin. Receptionist tells me to hold off on the insulin until I hear from the vet later that day. Well it's been 2.5 days and my husband gets a message on his phone , I call back 20 minutes later and the vet is gone and will be back in 3 days. Lol their compassion for animals and a worried Client truly shows. Switching to a vet closer to home that has better business etiquette. Good luck with your expansion.

Many of my friends and family have changed vets for this reason. Recently my aging dog had to be euthanized. I couldn't bring myself to go through an unknown vet. I decided to ask Dr Tounkara to accompany us in this difficult process. What a great decision. The reception staff were humane and professional. Olivier, the technician who received me and who accompanied the veterinarian, was professional, respectful and very human. We felt privileged to receive such good service. Thank you so much. Mes premiers contacts au téléphone comme en personne m’ont profondément déçus. J’ai trouvé le personnel à l’accueil tout sauf respectueux et professionnel. J’ai pris la décision de ne plus y retourner. Plusieurs de mes amies et membres de ma famille ont changé de vétérinaire pour cette raison. Récemment mon chien vieillissant devait être euthanasié. Je ne pouvais me résoudre à passer par un vétérinaire inconnu. J’ai décidé de demander à Dr Tounkara de nous accompagner dans cette difficile démarche. Quelle bonne décision. The longest wait of my life. I was running late to my appointment but I made sure to call the clinic and tell them I was running late due to picking up my sick child. No control over that. Came from south side Ottawa all the way here to wait 50 more mins to see a vet! Worst experience ever. Didn’t know that family emergencies were not tolerated as a valid excuse to late. VERY disappointed with their service. They are literally just sitting down in the back laughing and “having their lunch”. However there was ONE kind lady who were apologetic towards the situation even though they STILL didn’t not bother to come check up on me after leaving me in the room!

I have been a client at this clinic for almost 8 years. They used to have impeccable client service but over the last couple of years they have continued to grow and expand and their client relations have unforunately taken a head-dive. I have left 3 voicemails to renew my dog's medication and book an appointment for her ongoing health problems and have yet to get a call back. The policy is to place the order 48 hours in advance - I called on September 30th and left a message. I have left 2 other messages since then and have called multiple times. I called to book an appointment and they told me my account is closed and they cannot service me. I called 2 times in 2 weeks to get an update on my file, I NEVER closed my file. Then the vet comes into the room looking at my dog and immediately tells me OMG he should have his nose operated! I don't know how he breathes! I was so insulted! Not able to read the file before looking at the animal and asked me to do the surgery twice when I had it done at their clinic. We finally look at the bump, she does not want to tell me, tells me that she can take a sample and send it to the laboratory at a cost of $ 177 plus $ 45 for the needle !!! She never got me mentioned the price of the needle is at the cash register asking for an evaluation that I get an extra $ 45 !!! Worse, she told me about cancer when my puppy was 9 months old. But she's not what she knows she says, it's impossible for her to tell me what she knows, but talks to me about radio, chemo and all. I ask for the price of a biopsy they are not able to answer me they tell me that they will send me the estimate by email. 3 days later and no feedback received! Not only are we never able to reach the clinic we play I leave a message in your voicemail box. He's just thinking about making money! I brought my dog Abby in this afternoon for an exam of some discharge coming from her eye. She is usually very anxious, guarded and uncooperative at the vet. This time was different. The vet tech, I don't know her name, was GREAT. She spent the time establishing trust and rapport with Abby before doing anything. It was like they were best friends for years. When it came time to measure her heartbeat and read her temperature, Abby was very cooperative. I want to thank the vet tech for making the experience the most positive ever for Abby and myself. I'd also like to commend the vet, who explained everything and administered the tests flawlessly.

The vets take the time to explain the issues my pets are experiencing and provide options of varying prices and complexities and allow us to make the decision on how to care for our pets. Thank you to all the staff at Clinique Veterinaire de Hull! We received great service and everyone was really welcoming. We had tried a number of different vets in the area and none of them "felt" right. We have a lab/pit bull mix puppy and we dealt with a lot of really ignorant veterinarians because of this, so we felt very reassured and comfortable once we found this place and realized how great the staff was. I will start by saying Dr. Tonkura has been fantastic from day one...….but then the merge happened! The service is sub par at best, every time I call to make an appointment I have to leave a message with no return phone call so I have to continue to call until I get someone on the phone. The person always tells me I'm not a client and we proceed for 10-15 minutes to find my file. Then we spend another 5-10 minutes looking for my dog's file because they tell me he is not a patient only my cat is. Once we get through that, I'm offered an appointment anywhere from 3 - 4 weeks away. My cats neutering was a disaster and I had to take him back within 12 hours because his wound was bleeding everywhere. Yes, they charged me for the process to repair the damage they caused. While challenging the charge, I find out my cat was not seen or operated on by Dr. Tonkura it was another vet. Of course this is unacceptable, you go to a vet for a reason and they should inform you if your vet is not available to see your animal. I asked when my dog's next appointment was for his shot and they told me they didn't know, check my records at home(thankfully I keep all of that together). I've been waiting since the middle of May to get my dog in...….still no appointment as of June 23rd! My animals are so important to me and I expect professional, compassionate, informative service from every level of a vet clinic. From the reception booking the appointment to the vet doing the exam and since the merge, this has completely vanished.

These guys are fraud. I just travelled an hour and waited 4 months for an appt for my cat who needs her vaccines and she has a nasal infection. My cat was obviously distressed like any other cat I’ve owned and taken to the vet. They wouldn’t let me hold her and insisted they do it. Dr Legacy and Dr Tounkara are both amazing and so kind, they offer amazing care. But the reception is god awful. If you'd like to take an appointment, you can either call non stop, or leave a message and expect a call back days later. Not to mention they are always booking 2 months in advance. If you'd like a same day appointment, good luck. You'll have to spam call first thing in the morning to get an answer, oh and if you do manage to get one, beware you'll get charged double for your visit. Their prices have gone up and their quality of service has gone down. This merge was honestly the worst thing to happen to all Lac Leamy clients. I was very disappointed with my services here. The prices were outrageous and the service was lacking. I brought my cat to get spayed and asked about the healing process. The vet said, “cats are like cows, she will heal the next day”. The well being of my cat was not in the vets best interest. He was trying to make fun of my serious inquiries. Due to covid, my appointment for the spay was canceled. They never followed up about making a new appointment. When restrictions were lifted, I would expect they’d contact their clients with canceled appointments as a proper service call... Since I was already feeling very uncomfortable with all my services there, I started contacting other vets. I found one where the price was HALF the price of this vet. I received impeccable service. They answered all questions and printed off helpful tips. I decided to use the same vet for my dog. My dog was experiencing some skin irritations so they prescribed me some medication and a week later called me to follow up on how the medication was working. This was amazing service. The vet actually noticed something that the previous vet at Hull ignored. I recall the vet committing on the issue but doing no further test. It had since worsen... if she had noticed something, she should have done her job better. It could have been dealt with before it got so bad... It seemed as though the vets at Hull want to finish their job and get on with the day. Much better vets out there. I would gladly suggest the vet I am with now (if anyone wishes)

Really disapointed in the service. I brought my two cats for their annual checkup and purchased a dewormer for both. However, I accidently left the prescription on the counter when I left the clinic. This has been almost a month ago and despite MANY MANY attempts to retrieve it - speaking with receptionist immidiately after (she confirmed she found the package on the counter), leaving countless voicemails and even showing up at the clinic to pick it up- I still dont have the prescription that I paid for almost 1 month ago. I am probably at about 10 unreturnered voicemails by now. I am at a loss... when I showed up at the clinic, the people on staff wouldnt even issue me a new prescription (they said hey couldnt deal with fact that it was already paid for etc etc). I hate to resort to posting bad reviews, but this level of service is not acceptable. You took my money... now please let me have the product. Update: shortly after posting this, I got a call back and was able to pick up the prescription immediatedly. I am not sure if its related to this review, or if my voicemails finally got through, but this issue was resolved by the clinic.
