I just had my big man Smokey neutered and micro-chipped at Valley Veterinary Hospital today. It was the first time I have used their services. The staff were fantastic. They took wonderful care of my fur baby. They explained the procedure thoroughly, as well as all the after care instructions and sent him home with an extra 2 days of pain meds. They also provided him with a complimentary nail clipping and there is a complimentary post op exam any time within a two week period following his surgery. The pricing was fair for all that was done. I will be returning for all of my future veterinary needs. A huge thank you goes out to the staff there from Smokey and I for taking such wonderful care of my boy. ❤️

I took my dog to Valley Vet for blood work on Aug 12th, they call me Aug 23rd to tell me her liver enzymes were not looking good. We were told this could be a sign of cancer, so I booked an ultrasound as soon as they had an opening. Fast forward to Aug 27th, she has her ultrasound. I go to pick her up fully expecting to get the results and see what happens next. Well, the receptionist tells me my vet will call me the next time she is in, ok so when is that. She looks at her computer and says Tuesday. My dog was fasting since 10:00 the night before, I ask did she get anything to eat, the receptionist says I’m not sure, we usually give them a snack. She never told me if she was put to sleep, nothing whatsoever. I paid my bill of $340.00, got no information at all. I felt like here’s your dog, don’t let the door hit ya on the way out. It is now Tuesday, I waited until 1:00 for the Vet to call, heard nothing. I have called the office twice, left messages begging please have the doctor call today, I haven’t slept since Friday, and still have heard nothing. This Veterinary Hospital has no compassion whatsoever! All they want Is your money ???? Soooo frustrated!

Called early morning to ask for a second opinion about an emergency visit for my pup 2 days prior, they got me an appointment within 3 hours from my phone call. Very polite and professional, my pup is very timid of men but where it was urgent that did not matter to me, the vet was Dr. Dan Cartwright, and my pup absolutely loved him! He did not make me muzzle him the whole time, or keep him on leash, which helped my boy to relax and not be so scared. The visit was very anxiety free for both of us! Based on the description of my dogs symptoms and the results of his exam he thought it sounded like a gestational bleed, prescribed the correct medications, and upped the dose of his pain meds as the dose the previous vet gave him was not strong enough. The previous vet was no longer than 10 minutes from arrival to departure and blamed it on a belly ache. I felt very confident leaving the office today with the information and medication I had. I am very pleased with the service I receive here. I also take my baby chihuahua there for all checkups and needles, and he absolutely loves the staff there! During quarantine he would jump right out of my arms to the vet tech to go inside! Definitely recommend!

I was fortunate enough to have my cat neutered here at one point, haha. Him not so much I guess :p but nevertheless, they worked with me to make sure I fully understood the procedure and aftercare instructions. They were compassionate and gentle with my grumpy little guy. He healed really well, and, one of the girls even went out of her way to deliver his cone to me after her day had ended- since I had paid for it, but in a haste, I had left without one. That's some real dedication to their patients!

Fantastic. Went in to get a certificate of rabies vaccine for a dog I just took in, and he had not had the vaccine yet, but they squeezed me in right away to get him the vaccine so I would not have to wait. I'm a long haul truck driver and was just going out on the road the morning I stopped in. They will definitely be my vet for my dog for all time

My experience with this vet clinic has been good, until today. I first started going there when we adopted an older dog from the Oromocto SPCA in January 2016. I brought Dougal there for his regular shots, and for an ear infection that developed shortly after we got him. Last week, he showed signs of illness, so on Friday, I brought him in to get checked out. Dr Stone was very thorough, even running blood tests, but found nothing specifically wrong. I paid the bill for the consulation and the blood test, then collected Dougal to bring him home. As I was leaving with Dougal, Dr Stone prescribed a couple of different kinds of tablets as a further way of diagnosing or relieving Dougal's discomfort. I believed the tablets were already included in the bill I had just paid. When I got home, I received a call from the office staff, asking me to drop in an pay for the tablets. We agreed that I could come in Monday. Dougal passed away 24 hours later, on Saturday afternoon. On Monday, despite feeling shattered over the loss of my great little dog, I tried to return the unused medication and to settle the bill for these tablets. The Office Manager (not the vet) took fifteen minutes to decide to refuse to take back the medication, and did not even show the courtesy of speaking with me personally to explain his or her decision. This seemed like a cheap, penny-pinching way to end a business relationship. While vets are in a caring profession, office managers evidently are not. When we get another dog, we'll bear this experience in mind. UPDATE: The day after I posted this review, Andrea, the Business Manager, left a voicemail message at my home. In this message, she apologised for her failure to speak to me directly, she blamed the receptionist for not explaining Andrea's position fully, she rationalised her decision to charge me the full cost (including the built-in profit) for the medication I returned, and she expressed sympathy for the passing of Dougal. To her credit, Andrea is responsive to public criticism. To her discredit, she failed when it mattered to me. I am not interested in engaging in a debate with her.

Real Time Recoveries

Great place to bring your fur family members. They take the time, both when dropping off and picking up the patient, to explain what will or had happened that visit. The first time I've ever received such a thorough discharge report (in a private room to boot). Very friendly and full of humour to put you at ease.

I didn't get to see how they interacted with my dog, because of the whole "COVID" thing, but assume it was good as my dog came back out her usual goofy self. They came recommended by another vet whom they share "on-call" work with. Thanks for all your help.

The staff at Valley Veterinary Hospital are amazing! The doctors are very helpful and genuinely care about the animals they are working with. The technicians and assistants are extremely knowledgeable and put me at ease when I have concerns. They explained in detail how to properly give my cat medications and when to renew prescriptions. They are always attentive and listen to any concerns I may have. I brought my cat in for routine vaccinations and they were so gentle and caring with him. Plus they gave him some treats which he loved. They are always very accommodating with emergency situations and I can always get an appointment quickly. When I had to put down my cat they were very comforting and explained in great detail what the process would be like. They answered any questions I had and they were compassionate when I was emotional. We discussed all the options I had and they were very helpful in choosing the best decision for my cat. They even sent me a condolence card afterwards. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else as they are the best of the best!

After a relocation to NB, we were looking for a new Veterinary Hospital and are so glad we chose Valley Vet. Our first experience was for our 2 girls (3yr old Ridgeback X and 1.5yr old Mastiff X) for vaccinations earlier this year. We had now become used to curb-side practices for dropoff, phone consult, pickup so that was no problem. Things were efficient, friendly and professional for the girls and priced well, and had no problems receiving their histories from our previous AB Veterinarian. We then had a laceration on our boy (8.5yr old Catahoula) that he created while out on a walk/run off leash. They were able to fit us in that afternoon for a consult, and were able to stitch him up in no time but he did need to get sedated. For the better, while he was out they proactively found indicators of a tumor in his abdomen, and did a complimentary XRay of the area to confirm a spleen tumor (confirmed by a couple of attending veterinarians). Without their keen eye we may have run the risk of a sudden rupture and bleed in the future. With their detection we could proactively deal with, and scheduled the splenectomy to remove the large (estimated 8lb) mass and he is now in full recovery (minus a spleen). My complements to the surgeon as the stitch-work was amazing and healing very well. We just did the post-op visit today, and it was a nice change to be in the clinic with changes in Covid policies and be there with my boy. All told our visits have been awesome and even through we drive a bit to get there (most of the dogs love a ride) , we are all very happy in our choice of Valley Vet as our new fur-baby Hospital. Would definitely recommend.
