You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people like you who are consuming the services and products of South Paw Animal Hospital (Veterinarian) in Fredericton territory (Canada).
To this day this business has a score of 4.8 out of 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is basically the top, and it is based on a very large number of scores, so we can conclude that the assessment is very accurate. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

The staff here are fantastic! Shannon is so good with cats and Mia absolutely loved her.
These guys are professional and genuinely love what they do, it shows in the love they show your pet.
Best vets in the city. Mary Ellen saved our puppy's life. No exaggeration, we were a day or two from losing her and Mary Ellen was able to diagnose her with a rare auto-immune disease.
Dr. Shannon Lewis is incredible. My little guy Rocky gave us a good scare, and I feel incredibly lucky to have had Dr. Lewis be the one to see him. It was a last minute phone call when my cat suddenly took a turn, and although an appointment wasn’t available for another 5 hours, the staff were more than happy to take him in that minute so the technicians could keep an eye on him and make sure he was stable. He was sent home, after being examined, with an estimate of the costs associated with any diagnostic tools recommended. Dr. Lewis did not judge me for not being able to afford what was recommended, and I am incredibly thankful for that. She was able to prescribe him an affordable medication that I was able to go pick up the very same day. I did not feel rushed on any phone call I had with her, and even though I was unable to meet in person due to COVID, I felt as if the care received was not compromised in the slightest. She reassured me that I was doing an excellent job taking care of Rocky, and that meant more to me than anything. I would recommend Dr. Lewis to anyone who loves their cat. We are lucky to have her in the community. (She also wrote that Rocky was handsome on the prescription instructions, which I think he appreciated greatly.)
They know what they are doing and are real animals lover's. Price are pretty good too
Very friendly and always explain what needs or should be done before doing so. Very gentle as well
Great neighborhood vet office. The staff is very friendly and understanding of emotions in trying times. They also offer a 'Puppy Plan' that is definitely worth the money.
They are fantastic. They are well qualified to handle small animals, including rabbits which most vets deem "exotics." The cost of a rabbit spay and neuter was affordable and the vet was very knowledgeable. I've also had my pet mouse treated here. They have plenty of compassion and understanding. Highly recommend!
Absolutely wonderful, they always treat our guinea pigs with love, knowledge and care - even in an emergency.
My cats like Dr. Mike..it's weird in a good way.
Friendly staff that definitely have a love for your pets. Always great service and fast to appointment with.
I was there for an unfortunate reason, having accompanied my brother as he was getting his elderly (20yo) cat euthanized. The treatment and medication she had received from the vet here had given her a final year that was seizure free and comfortable. The staff were very professional but super compassionate, as we were very sad. I hope we didn't scare their other clients away with our teary faces and empty cat carrier as we left...
Caring, Compassionate and knowledgeable. Highly recommended
Friend just had her cats fixed here. They seemed to have done a great job, very friendly and caring service.
Very caring, informative and kind. I am confident that my cat is receiving the best care.
They are very good with our fur babies, excellent service
Great neighborhood vet office. The staff is very friendly and understanding of emotions in trying times. They also offer a 'Puppy Plan' that is definitely worth the money.
Dr. Shannon Lewis is our pet's greatest ally! She is an expert, a cat whisperer, a comic, an angel sent to brighten Walter's day even when he has to undergo an unpleasant exam or have some calculus cracked off his teeth. I've never seen our skittish cat behave better than when in the presence of Dr. Lewis! Happy & healthy 16 years and going strong. The whole staff at Southpaw is a pleasure to deal with.
Great staff and care!!
The staff is very nice and knowledgeable
Love South Paw. So does my little guy Rubin
Good info and care for our cats.
This is long overdue- but we didn't want Dr. Krista & the team to go unnoticed. Our dog Remi shattered her pelvis- almost to the point of no return, after being ran over during our visit from Ontario. During the pandemic, nobody was taking on new clients and we were refused at every call. Southpaw was welcoming and willing to help us out in the interim, providing medical care for Remi for a few nights while we weighed our options- as Remi would need specialized surgery, costing upwards of $6k+ from a vet hours away. Dr. Krista and her team were extremely caring and patient- not to mention empathetic. They were able to provide us with a bit of a discount, knowing we'd have a substantial bill in the future- should we take the risk to save our beloved pooch. We are glad to announce Remi made a full recovery after a lengthy & costly surgery- elsewhere, but we would have potentially not had such a positive outcome if it weren't for the initial guidance, patience & care we received upfront from Dr. Krista and her team at Southpaw. Highly recommend this animal Hospital- they care about more than just the money- but your furry family members too!
Top Notch!!
All about the animals been going there for years
Good outing to Coco's favourite (only) place to go outside her own house. Safe distancing was well done. Fast visit, and back home before there was time for this senior cat to get too worried.
It was an emergency visit and they treated my furby like a king.
Ok, let me start off with saying I feel like I could write an entire blog about this vet’s office/animal hospital. I have two cats: one is coming up to 15 years old and has diabetes, and the other is about 7-9 years (we adopted her as a stray 5 years ago) and has the occasional health hiccup here and there. To be quick with this review: this vet establishment is amazing and wonderful; however, I am long winded so I will organize my reasons as to why. Knowledge/Resources: I have had to visit this vet’s office several times in the last two years I have lived in Fredericton. I have found that everyone on staff is very knowledgeable. I find the doctors do not spend too much time playing the “guessing game” which can often result in quite the large bill (testing the various theories). I find the Vet Techs and Assistants to be quite helpful too, gladly answering additional questions and adding extra tips for your situation. Also, this facility houses their own test lab. Ever go to another vet and need blood work for your pet only to find out that it will take a few days for the results to come back in? This is because most vet offices have to send away most of their “tests” to other labs across the province or sometimes to PEI (which, sometimes you just need to know the problem as soon as possible). Southpaw usually takes about 2 hours (give or take depending) to get back to you about the results. --Oh, and they also have a "pet hotel" for a good price, if you ever need care while you’re away for a few days on vacation. Prices: You know in “Bridesmaids” (the movie) when she is on the plane and says “…help me, I’m poor”? As a substitute teacher I feel this is the story of my life. However, that being said… Southpaw is very fair and manageable with their prices. They're not too expensive and the overall care and treatment is definitely worth what you pay. I once had an emergency with our cat and she needed care right away…in my mind I knew I was broke, so I told the doctor I couldn’t afford too much at the time. She was very kind and understanding and we worked on options that gave the most amount care and different treatments as we could within my allotted price limit. I’m not giving the full story here, but they are very understanding about prices and paydates, etc… if you have a concern it's really easy to ask what you’re options are- don't be shy, they're very welcoming and caring about your needs too. Commitment: Whenever I call with a question, either, the very knowledgeable vet techs/assistants/receptionists answer my question on the spot, or they write down my question- speak with the doctor on my behalf- then call me back usually within the hour. However, the standing ovation goes to the founder and doctor Dr. Krista Foreman for her extraordinary effort to help bring your pet to back to proper health (although all the doctors are great- Dr. Mary Ellen is pretty fantastic too). Two separate occasions Dr. Foreman has provided me with extra resources of help/contact if there were any concerns or emergencies (once while they were closed on Christmas break, when my cat had very bad health scare and was in new treatment, and the other after a surgery). I can honestly say this is the only health care provider, in any field, that has ever gone as far as they have, and to offer such commitment and mean it. They genuinely care about a full recovery and the overall health at Southpaw :) . Thank you Southpaw for being so wonderful to our extended family members and their caregivers.
The vet there is very passionate about animals. Great advice. They were able to order large bags of my dogs food.
I find this vet office professional and caring but the admin staff seems to change a lot and do not find the counter girls approachable nor knowledgeable. Twice I was misinformed; once about my dog menstrual cycle and secondly , about an appointment, therefore, having to speak to an experienced receptionist to fix these issues. Anyway, our pets need you and we as clients need your support and professionalism. Oh and one more thing.... You should update/renovate your examining rooms...
Been our vet for many years! Friendly knowledgeable staff!
I have had only positive experiences at South Paw. The staff are all caring and compassionate and treat my puppy so well - she is excited every time we go. As a first time dog owner, I am happy to have a vet clinic like this where I know she is in the best hands. South Paw is on the expensive side, but worth it as they have been fantastic, quick to get her in for appointments, and are always caring and extremely informative.
Very friendly
Clean facility with very caring people looking after your sick pets.
Very knowledgable staff. They really care for your pet. My dog loves a visit to the vet. Wish I felt the same about going to the doctor!
Such nice people here!
Been there with two different animals now, they are friendly, don't push for unnecessary tests or procedure and really seem to treat pets like they are members of your family.
Awesome team, caring , compassionate, and true animal lovers.
Extremely caring. I hope I never have to find a new vet!
Took great care of our bunny, Milo.
Vets are all very caring and knowledge.
Amazing staff and care
I never have enough positive words for this vet. They are good with regular visits and critical. My boy Ash had crystals over new years, and they took amazing care of him and ensured he was comfortable. Even though the vet was closed for the holiday, they allowed me to visit while he was recovering. My boy Boba gets even more spoiled. When he got neutered, they kept him a little longer for extra snuggles. He is always excited to explore their office and loves it when they show him off. He has been struggling with his diet and issues, and they made it easy and inexpensive to keep his diet maintained. And when there are issues they are quick to suggest the most economically sound value. They are all skilled vets and every one is so excited and caring. Will never go to another vet while I am in the city.
Super friendly and compassionate staff, and very knowledgeable doctors. I know that my furry little friends are in good hands here.
The vet doc is amazing! Answers my quick questions via msgs. The front desk staff are very happy and excitable with all pets that walk/are carried in. Baylor is always excited to visit ALL the staff ????
Best team of Vets and Techs, I've ever taken my animals to. Mary Ellen is very professional and informative.
They were very understanding and listened to my concerns. I haven’t been for an appointment yet but set one up and they seem awesome.
This is a wonderful vet clinic. Dr. Shannon Lewis is probably the best rabbit vet in town. She is wonderful with our pet rabbits, and knows exactly how to handle them and treat them. If you're a bunny owner looking for a vet who knows their stuff (bunny-friendly antibiotics, dealing with GI stasis, etc.) - Dr. Lewis is the person to go see!
I couldn't be happier with all the services I have gotten here. Phenomenal place to bring your pets.
A few days after arriving from Toronto my dog refused to eat and was generally appearing to feel unwell. I was nervous about his well-being and about seeing a new vet. Enter Dr. Nicole Mann. Dr. Mann was understanding, patient, and provided recommendations that ultimately resolved the issue and left me feeling reassured. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Mann again if the need ever arises.
Would recommend to any animal owner
Friendly and caring staff!
I have encountered some truly great people in my shufflings across this rolling ball of dirt we call Earth. I have seen people go above and beyond for no other reason than because they know its the right thing to do. Most of these people are at South Paw. Thank you all so much for what it is you do. You have enriched my families lives almost as much as Marley did. You are all the personification of adjectives I look for when dealing with people. That of; wonderful, thoughtful and dedicated. Please dont ever change. Thank you!
Our dog loves going there to the Dr !!
Dr. Foreman is absolutely lovely. I found an injured cat on the road 10 years ago and she came in late at night and took care of it. She then kept the cat at her house for two weeks while they ensured it did not have an owner looking for it. I ended up adopting the cat through Southpaw after they took excellent care of him. We adopted a dog last year and they've taken wonderful care of him. He is a nervous rescue and Dr. Foreman takes her time with him to help get him comfortable with the clinic and vet care. She does not charge extra for the time this takes and is so patient and wonderful with him. He has gone from tail between his legs and shaking to wagging his tail when treat lady (Dr. Foreman) comes in the room. It is very clear the clinic is in it for the well-being of the animals and not the money.
Compassionate and caring
Treated my dog like it was their own
These people are the best ????
My dog has gone here for almost eight years now-she has continued to be extremely active and very healthy. It is a very convenient location for downtown as well; we could walk there if need be.
Southpaw is such a wonderful place! The vets are so kind and trustworthy. I reccomend this office to anyone looking for a vet in the city.
Amazing service at South Paw. We've been going for 8 years.
Fantastic staff! They actually take the time to get to know you and your pet. They understand that your pet is part of the family and not just a thing that needs fixed. If I wasn't a human I would want to go here.
They took great care of my dog during his dental surgery which was very scary having lost a prior dog during the same procedure at another clinic. With our cat they were very attentive in listening to my concerns, still waiting for the treatment to help him
These are vets and vet techs that genuinely love animals and care about the health of your pet. They are accommodating to animals with anxiety. You can call ahead for pet food and they will have it ready when it show up. Great service all around!
Vet was always open to seeing are cats right away which was great as most vets would tell us 2 weeks or more. Unfortunately are experience hasn't been great. We brought are very sick cat to the vet 3 times over a course of a week. 1st visit she had a high temperature with stuff coming from her eyes and sneezing. We left with a herb and no anti biotic. So we had to take back two days later when she was worse obviously and got antibiotics then. The third visit she had a cloudy eye with blood in it. The vet said ITS NOT A CONCERN. I would not reccomend this vet unless it is your last choice.
Take our dog here, great staff.
Really friendly, they didn't really tell me much after my bunny's neuter though and I didn't even meet the vet who did the surgery. I know they're busy although I did have questions and wanted to chat with the vet but it didn't seem to be an option... Kind of disappointed with that. Other then that my little bun had a good stay
Southpaw is totally amazing. The staff are top notch in their field & 5 stars for Dr Nicole!! She helped figure out what was causing my sweet kitty Gracie. I am forever grateful for this team. Thank you all so much!! Your the best.
They made our visit very easy and quick got our shots for our baby . Very friendly staff. Ty
caring and compassionate. best vets in town.
As with most vets, the cost of a visit can be very high Friendly staff.
This hospital really loves animals. Our vet Shannon has kept our dog alive for more than a year due to medicine she found for her. Can't thank these people enough!
Best vets in town. Hands down. I would only take my pet somewhere else if it was after hours and an emergency.
wouldnt cut my dogs nails, they can't handle dogs that don't like having their nails cut. bizarre
My experience was with a vet named Mike and it was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely understanding(as was the entire staff) of the previous trauma our cat had been through caused by a vet. Mike gave our boy extra tender attention and our cat was so at ease he even still purred for the vet. HIGHLY recommend this office, the staff is *AMAZING*!!!
Great service from Dr. Mann. So patient and friendly with my anxious dog. Thank you!
Amazing staff! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional. Always.
For all pet issues and and questions, they are the kindest and most knowledgeable staff I have ever dealt with, I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Love this veterinary office, especially Dr. Etheridge. My foster kittens go there, as do my own cats. They always do an amazing job with spays/neuters, and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. The pictures below are some kitten tummies immediately post-spay at south paw. As you can see, they did a wonderful job and in some cases you can barely tell they were spayed, but for the shaved bellies!
I would highly recommend this vet. They were able to fix the UTI that my cat had for months that our other vet couldn't figure out and kept on throwing the same medicine at it. The staff are really friendly!
Smart and caring people, they treat your animals like their own. Highly recommend.
MOOSE LOVES THESE PEOPLE. great vets and support staff!!
Dr. Nicole is possibly the BEST addition to the team this place could have made. We had to make the very unfortunate decision to help our sweet cat "cross the rainbow bridge". She was absolutly amazing. She was sweet, gentle and handled our beloved pet with the utmost care. She was a great comfort in a difficult time and made our sweet Pepes last moments a time of peace. Thank you.
The care here is fantastic and the doctors are awesome with their patients the (enough that the dog is excited to go the vet). Really and truly, I can't say enough good things about SouthPaw. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Wonderful services????????
Nice staff
