Dr. Huttges was very gentle and thorough during the exam and Vaccination of our Dogs and called the following day to check on his patients. the cost of vaccination / exam was a lot cheaper than our previous clinic in Fredericton. Quality Care and very reasonable Prices.

I cannot say enough good about the staff at Hometown Veterinary Hospital. You can tell that every person from the VA to the Vet cares about every animal they see. They were able to get me in promptly for my cat's ear hematoma, and were very flexible with my work schedule. The follow up process is immaculate. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend the staff, especially Dr. Christie to anyone who is having medical issues with their furry friend.

Love my dog more than air. Hometown is one of the best spots. (The other being Southpaw.) Dr. Bill is great. My dog loves him, she lets him pick her up and she doesn't let anyone (especially men) pick her up. Seriously shes known my sisters for 15 years as children and she doesn't trust them that much. If I think something's wrong, I'll come in any time and not feel like we're a waste of their time or an inconvience. I like feeling like my dog is the priority because she is to me. Always a call for a check in, always free to give me information. I like a straight up answer, not a beat around the bush.

Amazing service, I had to leave my cat overnight as he was quite sick and couldn’t have felt more at ease knowing he was in great hands. There were two different vets looking after him and I was continuously called and given updates on his condition, they even stayed late to make sure he was safe to go home. A dear friend of mine has been dealing with a sick dog for over 5 weeks now. Hometown has been slow to act and has made my friend feel unimportant. Her fur baby is only a little over a year old. It has taken days, many days and several times to get a call back with results. They are quick to take her money but slow to respond to help her fur baby. I see a lot of reviews of how compassionate and caring they are, but what I have witnessed is a woman worried to death, waiting and waiting for a call back which doesn't come. My opinion is if you don't have a lot of money to spend stay clear of Hometown Vet. I will never take my fur babies there. If you want to know what compassion and caring for fur babies and their family looks like, call Valley Vet in Lincoln NB. They are the best.

We have always had good service here when we can get in, but I feel that they have too many clients to handle. We are often told on the phone that we can't be seen for 2 or 3 weeks when our pet has an urgent issue and needs to be seen. We most recently were in the office for 2 hours for an exam because they were so busy - and that was with a pre-booked appointment. Our time is valuable too. With that said, when we can actually get in, we do receive good service. But we value our time as well and I think they need to focus on providing timely service to their existing clients before taking on new ones, or hire more vets/staff.

I took our ferret in for a mass removal and Dr Bill called me himself when the procedure was complete. This clinic offers excellent rates and the facility is immaculate. Separate waiting rooms for cats and dogs, ample parking, easy to find, evening and weekend hours. Front desk staff are very friendly. I can't recommend Hometown Veterinary enough.

I have a reactive cat who doesn’t tolerate my partner or close friends, so I am always nervous about taking her to a stranger. Dr Bill and his team are 10/10 in all areas. They are kind, professional, helpful, and so much more. Every experience here is beyond amazing and they are able to handle my cat with patience and care, something I’ve never experienced when taking her to other vets. Treatments and visits are also much more affordable. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I took my kitten in to have him checked. He was having some issues and just didn’t seem himself. We got him to the vet all good and they kept him overnight to be sure he was okay. They performed several procedures and tests to ensure he was okay, but told me they couldn’t get a sample of pee because he just wouldn’t. I live not even 2 minutes from their clinic and he peed in his crate on the way home, so I found this hard to believe. But, they sent me home with pills to crush up in his food and a liquid medication for him. After finishing the round of medication, I noticed the same behaviour in him, this time worse. I took him in in the morning, and they told me when I picked him up that had I left it until I got home from work, I would have found him dead. They treated him for a UTU when in reality he had crystals (similar to kidney stones). They treated him for this UTI and made his condition worse, almost to the point of death,which they admitted. They then told me I had to have him on a special vet recommended food that cost 150$ a bag, and told me he would be in danger of death if I fed him anything else. I bought the bag, and have since switched his food from the formula to a simple wet food, and he’s doing better then when I’m the recommended formula. After all of this, they made me pay for the procedures and tests they performed the first and second time, including paying for the medications both times, when the first time around they put my baby in danger. The nurses, however, are very generous and lovely women.

If you're looking for knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly and attentive vets, Dr Bill and Dr Chelsie are the creme de la creme! Our little Mia even got a personal invitation to their Grand Opening in the mail! The clinic itself is gorgeous, spacious, state of the art... And still has that new car smell! Mia gets ridiculously excited when we head over to see them, imagine that, a dog that wants to go to the vet. And we travel quite a ways for Mia to receive the quality service because the Hometown team is definitely worth it. They are wonderful people and even better veterinarians. A definite must for your pets who deserve the best there is!

Hometown vets discovered that our animal had long festering condition neglected by previous vets inability to diagnose. We were impressed by the follow up phone call to check how animal is reacting to meds and generally very informative and thorough service (calling to check if we are ok with extra tests and charges beforehand rather than springing nasty surprises on us). Highly recommend!

Dr.Bill was so loving with our Stella....and gave her a thorough check up and didnt rush doing it. Very personable gave us a plan to try and get some weight off our kitty. I expected him to try and push selling us their vet food but was ok with what we were already feeding her and left the room to look up the ingredients to be sure it was a good choice. The price was extremely reasonable compared to our previous vet.

If you're looking for a veterinary hospital in or around Fredericton, Hometown Vet is the best spot to go. Moving from PEI to Fredericton we were nervous on finding a reliable vet that we could trust, and we had one bad experience at another vet when we first moved here. We quickly needed to find another vet to rectify the issue that arose from a misdiagnosis at another vet and Hometown did it. Not only has Hometown provided the absolute best care for our dogs, they've walked us through the steps after and the recovery every step of the way. What is even better is how much they all genuinely care about your pets, with check up calls and after surgery we needed to e-mail the DR and he responded promptly to ensure our dog was OK. Our dog has now gone through 2 surgeries at Hometown Veterinary Clinic, our new Puppy has had all of her needles and the other dog has her 1st appointment coming up. Going to the vet doesn't have to make you nervous or anxious, not if you're at the right vet, one that you can trust that is honest and reliable but more importantly puts the pets first. So far we've dealt with Dr. John and Dr. Bill, and I imagine the other vets and staff there are just as phenomenal as they are.

Hometown exceeded my expectations and gave me the feels, didn't know that an experience at the Vet could give you the feels! I only took my dog for a dental consultation and vaccines. But Dr.Marsha, what an absolute sweetie! She sat on the floor with my dog and it was more like a visit then an appointment. From start to finish I was happy and at ease.
