This is the Second Review I have written on this place. The first review was very bad, I found the the particular Vet I had was very afraid to touch my little dogs. It looked like a magic show, he was just waving his hands over my dog….I ended up taking that review down as I was contacted by the manager and after a short conversation i decided to give them a second chance……I wish I hadn’t. This Office is the definition of greed, their prices are double or more of other vets in the city, I’ve called several since my last visit. I said it in my last review, “If you like watching hands touch your dog for 5 min and paying hundreds of dollars for it, then this is the place for you” price for blood work: 295$ not including tax price for X-ray: 372$!! also not including tax those prices don’t even include the exam….it is ridiculous Hope this helps people make an informed decision Will not be returning

To note that I am a very bad 'mom' of furry kids 'patient'. I probably am a vets worse nightmare, as I am not easily pleased (even though my childhood BF choose Veterinary Sciences as a career). I have jumped from many, many vets, in different countries actually, until finally and happily anding with Dr. Ally and her team, I do feel heard and attended, and provided with all shades ands options. No Black or White; and you can discuss. I feel safer for my furry kids knowing that I have finally found a clinic that I can trust to provide good service. They are always ready for the difficult times that have come, and also for regular scheduled appointments to keep the family pack healthy. I would recommend Fredericton Animal Hospital to people that want that extra care for their furry friends, where you are heard and not dismissed, where your pet is not just another animal. All of the staff remember my kids and I love that. I do wish they keep on being prosperous at Freddie.

Met with FAH re my very elderly dog's euthanasia. It was a matter of time, & I consulted with FAH to make sure they could do what I wanted, and to make sure all was understood & available. My wishes were not respected. Staff: "Well, there's nothing we can do about it now." The owner, Dr. Ali Candlemire-Reed, called me to empathize, but did not have a solution. When I found one, she refused to participate. After consulting the Vet Association, they, too, reached out to her & encouraged her to work with me. She has not repsonded, despite the advice of her Association. Be aware, the Association is powerless. Dr.Ali Crandelmire-Reed is not solutions-based & not willing to support her clients in the event of a mistake on her, or her staffs', part.The worst of it is,others had strongly advised me not to choose FAH but,based on my consultation, I did, & now have nothing but regrets.

From techs to vets, the entire team was full of warm, friendly, helpful people. My cat Dingbat had to have the tip of his tail amputated, which was a very stressful life event for both him and myself. The team kept costs as low as possible, even when Dingbat would use his claws to remove sutures they didn't charge out the wazoo for follow-ups. I had to use the after-hours phone line twice and recieved prompt, phenomenonal service both times. I will always come back for any health problems with my pets, and I would be remiss if I did not convey my full confidence in this facility & the staff that run it.

Went there twice for 2 different animals. Both times staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They even called back a few days after to see how they were doing. The building is clean and rooms have birds for cats to watch while check-up is in progress. One of the appointments was on short notice and they were able to arrange an appointment for the next day. I did not wait at all while there, excellent service. Why can’t normal people Dr offices get this system down? Would go there again (hopefully not soon). Definitely recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about FAH. The vets and techs are absolutely amazing. They have saved 2 of our furbabies in recent years. Our dog Boo in 2019. We were told by our old vet there was nothing more he could do. So we got a 2nd opinion. Turns out the vet just wasn't giving him long enough treatments. He has demodectic mange and food allergies. 2 years later he is thriving. This past week our furbaby/demon child :) Jerry ingested some carpet fibres that just wouldn't pass on their own. Dr. Reid and her team were so amazing with him. They got him in quickly and after some tests, x-rays, fluids,meds, and surgery he is now home where he belongs being loved and spoiled. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, I would never think about going to another vet. The team at FAH is the most caring and amazing team. They treat each pet like their own. Thank you so much to all of the team at FAH Tasha Finnamore. :)

I have a really good experience to this hospital as my two cats and dog are going here. When my dog had glaucoma and has to remove two of his eyes, the doctors and staff are very kind to me and provide all the information about how to take care for him. Strongly recommended! :)

Amazing staff. Competitive prices, but people think they overcharge... If you ask, they will work with you to find an arrangement that keeps both you and your pet are happy, but their interest is the best possible care for your pet, not your wallet. When my elderly cat needed to be euthanized, they took extra steps to make sure it was peaceful and dignified. One of the techs even cried a little bit. I take all of my pets there, and will continue to advise every pet owner to do the same. Amazing, amazing staff.

I bring my cat to FAH for an annual check up and scheduled vaccinations. The operating hours are very flexible, location and parking is good and the facility is bright, modern and clean. Most importantly the staff are genuinely interested in your pet. Triage involves lots of dialogue as they get a full picture of my cat's regular routines and activity. The veterinarian is thorough and expert in handling my cat and making her as relaxed and comfortable as possible. The staff are excellent. Payment options are flexible. I would definitely recommend this business.

Super expensive compared to other vets. Also not very professional, the vet was terrified of my dog and made me muzzle him (this was our third time there and the first time a vet has done this). If you call after hours you speak to someone reading from a piece of paper who can offer you no help or answer any questions. 5 stars for Dr. Rinehart however, he was awesome! Also i am being sued for leaving a Facebook review, and this one as well ????‍♀️

Fredericton Animal Hospital is the best best ever I experienced. They are still so helpful even I moved to other city. I couldn't find good vet like here anymore. I needed to find vaccine certification paper for quick due to travel to oversea. so my pet insfector called them and asked them to send the certificate I need and they just send right certificate in 5 mins so I could get the stamp perfectly. and I don't have to go back to inspection agency again. In other word they have very good filing system :). It would be so nice in the future just in case ???? Thank you so much for your help Kate !!!

When we required an emergency appointment for our sick dog, the Vet at this location immediately came to the rescue. Even though the clinic was not opinion she made the time to meet us there at 7.30am. Our dog was well looked after by Ali our vet and the staff at this location. The service and care was second to none, Ali and her staff were simply the best. Even though our lovely beautiful dog had to be sadly put down we cannot praise Frederiction Animal Hosptial enough. We went to the Fredericton Animal Hospital May 6th to have our 13 year old shepherd-rottweiler mix euthanized. The Dr. Ali Crandlemire-Reid and her staff were excellent to deal with. They were very caring and professional. They fully explained the viable options for our dog, and what the expected outcome would be. They were up front and honest about prolonging our dog's life, and that it would only buy him a very short amount of time, and that even he responded to the powerful pain medication, his quality of life would not be very good.

It’s been my first experience with a vet, along with my first ever pet who fell ill in the first ever week of my life with a pet! So you’d imagine the level of stress and being immature. since the first visit, I've been back 4 times, one of which was for a surgery, which went super. I can't thank them enough for being so attending and caring. they will call you for a checkup after you take your pet home. They are patient enough to explain everything and to demonstrate any procedure if necessary. I felt that because of the location and the ”fanciness”, they would overcharge you. So I checked and did my research. Nope. the cost is fair and I was really really happy with what I got for my new friend: genuine care Would definitely be my first choice hopefully for years I'll have with Thea, my cat.

Today we had our 1.5 year old cat spayed. We had a poor experience taking an old roommate and animal abuser off of our account, we were told that she could have on her collar and harness that ends high on her chest but they were taken off, had trouble with setting up her microchip because they didn't take said ex roommate off, as they were the main contact on the account at the time the account was opened, and they induced a panic attack by shoving my cat in a carrier when they were told that she is terrified of them. This is the first bad experience we had there but if this type of service happens again we will not continue service there.

I called multiple other vet offices and everyone said they were booked for a month in advance and couldn’t help me. When I called Fredericton Animal Hospital the first thing they asked was my cats symptoms. Once they realized he needed care ASAP they made the room for him. I am absolutely so happy for the amazing service and fitting us in last minute!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and I feel like I can trust them with any of my animals needs. I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else! They always respond to my questions quickly. They helped walk us through the decision to put our 20 year old kitty cat to sleep, and are now supporting us with a heartworm positive rescue dog. I agree they’re a little more on the pricier side but I’m willing to pay the extra for the care and knowledge they have shown. Knowing they are AAHA accredited provides me with peace of mind.

Booked an exam due to a sore on my cats chest. She got too anxious and upset to have a good look at it, or do a proper exam. Told me she needed an $1100 surgery and charged me $90 for the “exam”. Really unimpressed, very easily could have said she’s too anxious to get a proper exam in and rescheduled it so we could give her medication to calm her down beforehand.

I highly highly recommend the Fredericton Animal Hospital. I lost my sweet cat Oscar on October 7, 2018. I took Oscar to TFAH on that day, which was thanksgiving, during a serious emergency and they were beyond amazing from the moment I walked threw the doors with a very sick cat in my arms. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could have been done to save my baby due to him having a fatal virus called Feline Infectious Peritonitis, but the vet who was working that day along with all of the staff, were beyond amazing. They were very helpful and they did everything they could for Oscar. They made his very sudden and tragic death very peaceful and couldn't have been more kind and caring toward me. As sad as it was and still is losing him the way that I did and so suddenly, I am beyond grateful for the peaceful death he had with me there able to say goodbye and how much a loved him. I credit this mainly to TFAH for how amazing they were through me losing him. I will be taking my pets here from now on, even though I live in Halifax now it will definitely be worth the four hour drive to come here and get this amazing service.

Dr. Grant and all of the staff epitomize what one can only hope their fur babies Veterinarian and co workers are. Kind, caring, compassionate, and truthful. Especialy since the furball had hidden it so well we thought he was just not feeling well and would be fine. But tests taken very shortly after we arrived and follow up other tests proved otherwise. They were all so caring and understanding of our shock and grief. I held him to the end. I will never forget their kindness. BTW contrary to what I read in a comment elsewhere their fees are very reasonable. Their compassion priceless.

I have nothing but good feelings for Fredericton Animal Hospital. They have seen us through new adoptions, chronic ear infections, surgeries for the adoptees, and the loss of beloved furry family members. They even came to our home so we could say goodbye to our almost 17 year old lab so she was happy and comfortable in her last moments. Not very happy with this vet. My dog went in with breathing issues, they misdiagnosed him, kept him overnight, filling him with medication that was not helping (as they misdiagnosed him). After their "treatment" didn't help, they suggested we just put him down. We decided to get a second opinion, luckily, and drove to the Riverview Animal Hospital (strongly recommend them) they properly diagnosed him and did a temporary fix that allowed us to take him home until a repair was done on equipment they needed and we could go through the process of doing what was needed to get him well again. 2 years later our dog is alive and thriving as if this issue had never happened but we wouldn't have him in our lives if we had've listened to the incorrect, insensitive, and uneducated diagnosis and suggestion from the vet there. Giving 1 star because I need to, but also because the vet techs are amazing, sweet, and genuinely seem to care.

Absolutely love this place (as much as one can love going to the vet). They are helpful, kind, understanding and they have some nice touches to make your pet's visit go smoothly (e.g. providing some wet food or treats to help calm/distract your cat). Possibly the biggest point in their favour apart from the quality of care is that they're open after hours. Regular hours are until 8:00 but even if you need after hours care, there isn't a huge after hours fee like at some vets. That can make the difference between an animal getting the care it needs or suffering until business hours or even having to be put to sleep. So this hospital has my loyalty forever on that basis alone. They're practical, and they don't push unnecessary tests but they'll explain the pros and cons of different approaches to your animal's care. I've never felt pressured to choose one option over another; they explain and help you find the decision that's right for your family.

My border collie/Australian shepherd mix has a chronic medical condition that requires bi-weekly visits to the vet and has caused her to be hospitalized at FAH twice. Throughout this ordeal, the staff at FAH have been consistently competent, compassionate, kind, and welcoming. They worked tirelessly to figure out her diagnosis (her illness is fairly uncommon) and a come up with a treatment plan that suits both of us. Each time I have had to leave my dog there during a relapse, I have felt some relief knowing she is in caring hands.

I won’t question the treatments or the facility but the reason for the review is the poor ethical way the owners run this place. You will bring your pet in, get a written quote that illistrates a low and high range. You’ll sign that and likly be told its more than double the higher price. When you ask why the changes you’ll be told legally they can do what they want and the dr or vet you met doesn’t understand complixity, but they are left to staff the facility. Owning multiple buisness myself, and seeing this is disgusting. If you do go here and sign the quote I would recomend writting on it that in no way do you accept charges above the quotes abd have the vet with you sign where you put that. I was given nothibg but verbal assurances at the time, and I even requested the quote for the vet association snd my lawyer to review and was told to pay in full to get that. When i researched the association you quickly learn somehow this women is on it and money over rides ethics and the animal. They work for today and I doubt care for tomorrow and their image. I feel terrible for the staff there as they will be the blammed for misleading the consumer and also have their professionalism in their designation questioned. A 600 treatment costed me almost 3000$ and I was so discusted I had a friend bring animal in for stitch removal.

Recently our Drahthaar had to have surgery to remove an obstruction in his bowel. We normally deal with the Florenceville Vet Clinic (we love them!!), but FAH were taking all their emergency weekend calls at the time. I must say, from start to finish, the FAH were AMAZING!!! They answered all questions and concerns we had and took such good care of Jase. We were so concerned about our boy and they had no problem with us coming down to visit him while he was hospitalized. Even after his release last week, they've called almost daily to check on him and we've emailed back & forth with questions and concerns. The staff are wonderful and the vets top notch. If we lived in Fredericton, the FAH would absolutely be our vet of choice. Thanks for saving our dog's life and being so caring and compassionate.
