I really regret having spent my money and time there. My cat has mammary tumors in two of her glands. Te consultation with te doctor was on Nov 17th and it was ok. She gave me just one solution and it was: removing just the tumor formations by surgery. After the consultation I got in touch with the administration by e mail, requesting some more information for extra prices and asking if there is a posibility to be removed all the mammary chains, as this is te most recommended procedure in all vet sites and consultation. If not the cancer comes back to another gland. I did not get any answer in two weeks. Then I decided to call them and I was told they haven´t received the e-mail. I was asked to send it again. The emploee that attended me asked me what I wanted to know, so I started explaining her. She found my profile and repeated the information about the surgery and prices I have already been told. Then again I started explaining what I actually want to know is if there is a possibility for another type of opeartion and if there are some extra costs for bloodwork , stay in the hosital that they did not mention before. I was interrupted with the words: ¨Could you stop please!¨..and then that she cannot attend me, because the consultation that day was full. Do not undestand why she insisted to know , when I was just going to resend the e-mail. I resent the e-mail and received a reply with the full information about the prices I had asked for, but not for the mammary chains removing surgery .Last week I sent a new e- mail and by now dec 9th here I am without an answer. Probably they haven´t received it again.... I do not have time to waste money and important time for my cat´s life. I also want adecuate solutions not temopral ones. Really disappointed the way they treated me. Now I have booked with another clinic. I will never come back there.

Let me tell you a story from 1996 or so. My wonderful cat, Grey Robert, was an intelligent, friendly, neutered, outdoor cat and good at catching mice. At about age 7, he got nicked by a vehicle. Still with great courage, he managed to drag himself from the roadside about 50 yards across the grass to the back steps of my house. I was home for lunch. When I went to go back to work, I found Gray Robert at the base of the steps, bleeding and pleading with me for help. I took him immediately to Debbie Sewell. The doctor and her wonderful techs cared for him right away. It was hard. It was complicated. There were internal injuries. Some they could mend. They did a great job. But I was due to go out of town on a business trip and didn't know what to do, to cancel it and stay home with Gray Robert, or to go. I was single. No one else was at home to care for Gray Robert. Debbie said to leave Gray Robert with them at the hospital. My sick cat stayed almost 2 weeks with them. They were so kind and careful. I expected to pay a huge bill since so many vets squeeze owners for money, kind of like emotional blackmail. But the bill was incredibly fair! Gray Robert was able to recover well...not perfectly, which no one could expect after the damage, but well. I have never ever forgotten the top notch professionalism and kindness that Debbie Sewell and her staff showed towards animals and people. Debbie is the best vet I've ever been to - and I've lived in Guelph, ON; Waterloo, ON; and Ottawa. Thanks so, so much!

I took my 2.5 year old American Bulldog to this clinic just last week for her first time. I did not enjoy my visit at all, I felt the vet was criticizing our choices of food, collar, not having our girl fixed yet, etc. In addition to her assuming I was from Alberta (as we had moved home from a Alberta in July and me having to explain that I am from Fredericton, born & raised!). So, After leaving extremely upset with how the visit had gone, second guessing the way I raise my dog and feeling like a failure as a pet owner! I decided I won’t go back to this vet. I spoke with the desk the next day and politely told them I wouldn’t be back and that I felt the vet gave me her own personal opinions not medical opinions. Just today Sept 13 I got a personalized card in the mail apologizing for the way our visit turned out. With a cheque for the cost of her trip (which I did not need, nor ask for!) I was in instant tears and am grateful for the Vet team for recognizing when a mistake is made. They have gone above and beyond to rectify the situation and I really appreciate that thoughtful approach. Everyone has bad days and I will chalk it up to that!

We called 11 animal hospitals in the area for urgent care for our cat. They were the only one who was willing to squeeze us in that day. The vet took the time to explain everything and was honest and didn't try to sell expensive options that would have only prolonged the inevitable for our old and sick cat. Euthanasia was the only option and they were exceptionally compassionate and caring. Even the cost of everything was really reasonable. Would highly recommend them.

Consistently impressed with how hard this team works. My 17-y-o cat has chronic renal failure and hyperthyroidism and they balance his medications so that he has an excellent, happy quality of life. From working overtime to taking every situation that walks through the door at face value. I Highly recommend City Animal hospital for everyone.
