This is a superb veterinary clinic; all the veterinarians and staff members are not only caring, compassionate and friendly, but also very professional and knowledgeable. The clinic itself has the latest technology, is well laid out, clean, and very welcoming. The vet we use for our two cats, Dr. Jennifer McConnell, has been exceptional in every way. The first time we met her was just after we moved to Prince George, after our female cat had been attacked by a husky. Dr. McConnell impressed us greatly with her very kind, gentle manner, and it was a relief to find such a dedicated vet to look after the well-being of our two cats. Every member of the clinic is always ready to assist in whatever way necessary, and always with a smile. Our questions are answered quickly and Dr. McConnell's expertise and advice is always appreciated. Wonderful clinic run by a devoted group of professionals. Kudos!

Very Helpful, with the online video chat (afterhours when your local Veterinarian is closed, typically.) They examine Your Pet via Video Chat and suggest that Emergency Care is Necessary and they will take care of everything.(Calling the Vet to make appt, filling them in,etc) & The other is Step by step at home advice. Our case was the 1st unfortunately, but You just receive the address and show up. No waiting, Very Clean, Kind Staff. We were in and out in no time. Highly Recommend To Anyone

Take your dogs here to get their teeth done! The veterinarians stick to their original quote, even if they find they have to do more work then planned for when they quoted your dental work. My terrier had 14 teeth removed here along with a thorough cleaning. I wouldn't have been able to afford the procedure anywhere else. The vets are very knowledgeable and kind.

Murdoch Vet Clinic has been our family veterinarians since 2008 and they have been with us through good times and the sad. The staff is always friendly & compassionate with every visit and our animals love them too! The vets truly love their jobs and do all that they can for our animals, when they are there I don't have to worry about them because I know there in the best of care. During one of my toughest times Dr. Murdoch was calling me on the weekends while she was at home to ask how I was doing as well as my sick horse which gave me a whole new appreciation as to how much they care about their patients. When anyone asks me if there is a vet I'd recommend it's always Murdoch Vet Clinic!

Did a beautiful job on my new dogs major surgery, but I was talked down to when I was told post-op checkup that the dog had gained a couple pounds. I had only owned her for 3 weeks and took her on during the surgery, and major post op healing. She was healing and I don't know the dog well so I was still figuring out her nutritional needs.

I had Dr. Machelle out and her assistant I believe her name is Jo Anne, (please correct me if I'm wrong) this last fall, 2014 to check our horses, float their teeth and check the general health as well as our one cat who resides in the home. Both were very kind, efficient and professional in their treatment of our furry friends. We plan to continue using Murdoch for our veterinary needs whether they come out to our place or we transport to them. As I am an immigrant from the U.S. had a bit of trepidation about vets up here but the Veterinarians and staff at Murdoch are as pleasant and competent as the vet I had in Idaho.

For the second time I have called about my dog who is their patient and has been since 2015 the first he was having an emergency and they refused to see him for 3 months I then was able to get him in to another vet and so I cancelled his appointment with this dr as this is his main vet office and then I called this morning to get his regular flea update and was told they won't help me because they haven't seen him in over a year not sure why it's ok to allow the animals to suffer instead of just issuing me an over the counter medication that he has been getting from them a couple times a year for the last 5 years of his life especially when I call the other vet office and it was issued 2with no questions asked absolutely ridiculous will definitely be changing vets from now on

I have over the past 2 years had ongoing services delivered by the Murdock Vet Clinic. I have been extremely fortunate to have accessed these services locally in the Burns Lake area as Murdocks have provided clinics here. Considering the costs associated with travel, etc. the fact that these services have been delivered locally, the costs for treatment has been very reasonable. The staff that we have dealt with including the Doctors themselves have been friendly and well trained/educated. I have complete faith in their abilities and recommendations. Another positive aspect is that the staff of Murdocks have been very willing and helpful in meeting the needs of my animals by customizing their treatment- this has helped my aged animals to get the required medical treatment that meets the individual animals needs. I have taken all of my pets to Murdoch's since moving to the area. With my hectic schedule they have never had a hard time squeezing in an appointment when my critters need it. They are always friendly and helpful. You can see the care, compassion and love they have for the pets. Years ago when I had to put my dog down unexpectedly, the staff had a paw print molded for me and I received it in the mail about a week later with the rainbow bridge poem. It was the most thoughtful and meaningful gesture and I truly appreciated it.

Worst experience I have ever had with a vet. She did not provide adequate care for my dog in her final hours and referred me back to my regular vet for the euthanasia she needed. They were not open to any refunds for the subpar care and customer service I received, insisting the vet was so wonderful and did not come to the decision lightly. I was there for less than 20 mins and was spoken to with nothing but disrespect and received numerous eye rolls. I would never recommend Dr. Murdoch to see animals even on an emergency basis.

I took my weanling Quarter horse stallion prospect here for an eye infection last year. Vet would not give me antibiotics for him as she said he had Uveitis because he was pure white with blue eyes. He had elevated white cells, swelling etc. all signs of infection but she knew he was an Appaloosa even though I told her over and over he was a registered Quarter horse. I also told her he had scraped his eye as I saw it happen. No use. She had her mind made up and for that reason, refused antibiotics for a horse that NEEDED them. Now, because of an untreated infection (HER OWN WORDS SIX MONTHS LATER) HE HAS UVEITIS!!!!! My beautiful REGISTERED QUARTER HORSE STALLION. I am afraid I do not understand the antibiotic refusal which has now harmed a horse!!! What stupidity!! After 50 years of animal husbandry, I believe I am capable of determining when my animals need antibiotics. Here is the unfortunate part. There are so few veterinarians in Prince George that you have to take what you can get.

I'd give 5/5 stars for all my visits with all my past animals. Dr.Merritt is absolutely amazing and caring and sweet and over the top amazing, she got to know my old dog Twizzle so well over the years. I would recommend Dr.Merritt at Murdoch!! Unfortunately my dog Twizzle wasn't doing too good and we went to the emergency vet and saw Dr.Bonnell. We arrived 4minutes after closing. Dr.Bonnell was extremely rude, rolling her eyes constantly, not listening to my concerns with my dog. I was happy to pay for and do whatever she though was best for Twizzle. We had to take her to another clinic the same week because she got worse and we had her euthanized because her suffering was hard to watch. I will recommend Murdoch to many but not Dr.Bonnell.

When we had to put of 14 years old dog down, Dr.Murdoch told me that it was the most selfless thing we do for our pets when they are suffering because we just don't want to let them go. I brought my dog in after a fall. Granted it was on a Sunday so I knew there would be emergency fees. I would not gave here had there been ANY other option given my experience tonight. I expected X-rays, which were suggested "just to be safe" after the physical exam. What I didn't expect was to be told to put my dog down and to be charged nearly $800 for the process. Taking advantage of pet owners in traumatic situations is definitely a priority for this vet. The suggestion to kill my dog aka my child, which should be a LAST RESORT not the first choice disgusts me. My dog will be getting seen elsewhere. I do not recommend this vet.

We love Murdoch vet. A couple years ago My dog had a torn ACL injury. At the time she went to see another vet. Our old vet told us surgery was our only option. We didn’t want to put our dog through surgery without getting a second opinion. We went to Murdoch for a second opinion and she gave us a treatment plan for our dog and she was able To avoid surgery. Since then I have been bringing my cats to the clinic for care as well. I’m always 100% satisfied and I feel like there making the best decisions for my animals. I would recommend them to anyone

I have found everyone in the Clinic to be very caring and helpful. On one occasion, I was camping out on the Blackwater and Molly got into something which caused one of her eyes to swell shut.I phoned the Clinic and they stayed open for me to drive into town and out to Gunn Road to have Molly examined. Not only that but someone from the Clinic phoned a few days later to my home to find out how she was. I rely on the Murdoch Clinic for yearly examinations and up to date info for my pet and companion.

We wanted to sincerely thank Murdoch Veterinary clinic. We are new to town. We became fully aware, upon moving, of the shortage for clinics, and were blown away with the speed, and care Murdoch took with our pet emergency, given the circumstances. Their receptionist was engaging, kind, quick acting, and so accommodating. She took quick facts, briefly put us on hold to secure a spot, and went further to help with directions for the shortest route possible. This was so greatly appreciated, because we were distressed about our little dog, and she made the entire process seamless, and was caring the entire time. Upon arrival, the entire staff we encountered was wonderful. Truly. They took great care with our dog, and updated as we waited. The Veterinarian, Dr Merritt, was not only so personable, kind, informative, and helpful, but educational. We are thankful our dog didn’t have anything life threatening, but we were so comforted that she was in good hands, and she was going to be okay. Our pets are completely family members. Murdoch is the best vet in town. They go above and beyond requirements for a good vet. Recently we had to put one of our many pets down due to crippling old age and the vet actually came out to our home with two assistants and helped him die with dignity on a blanket in his own yard. Then they took him away for cremation and spared me that additional stress. Personally, after dealing with Murdoch, I wouldn't even attempt to go anywhere else.
