Just went to visit this clinic today with my pup. All the staff were very nice and helpful. I am not sure why this clinic doesn't have higher ratings. I did not at all feel that the vet was trying to make money off of me, in fact I felt that my bill was very fair and straightforward. We will definitely make this our primary vet.

We took our pride and joy into this veterinarian. They we're great to deal with and very well spoken. I found the prices are very competitive with the other veterinarians in town. Their check up was very thorough and my cat was very clam in their examining room. They sent us out with pamphlets on how to clean our Cats teeth, the gave us thorough instructions and sent us on our way. We had appointment for 4pm and they didn't get us in until 4:22 which is a long time for our pet to wait in their cage and it can cause a lot of unnecessary stress on your pet. Their parking at this complex in terrible, that's not their fault but I could foresee that being an issue if your pet is frequently going to this location. We plan on bringing our Cat back, I hope next time our appointment will be on time!

Very disappointed with this vet clinic. My dog got her duclaws removed over 8 days ago in Edmonton, and we went to Aurora because it was the only place with openings to get her stitches removed. Before removing them, we additmently asked if they were ready to be removed because we didn't want them out too early. They assured us that it was fine. Before leaving they said, "Make sure you pay, there's a fee." Woke up this morning and the site where her stitches were removed was completely ripped right open. clearly not ready to be removed. They were just too worried about the money.

Would rate 0 stars if I could. Cancelled my appointment without my permission and without letting me know and could not reschedule within a timely manner. Their prices are astronomical and needlessly high compared to the rest of the vet clinics in town. I settled with paying their prices because I needed to get my dogs in, but at this point I would rather drive across the country than deal with Aurora again. They really have the audacity to have the highest prices in town when they also have the worst service.

We had a great experience at this clinic. Its not our usual place, since ours couldn't do surgery after the flood, i called Aurora and they were very helpful and accommodating for us being new clients! My 13 year old yorkie needed dental surgery and they were able to get us in with only a few short weeks of wait (which was totally acceptable to me, especially being a new client) I had a few concerns, where our girl is older and she only weighs 6lbs, and when i called to talk to them about my concerns the receptionist was so nice and caring and really made me feel at ease. The day of the appointment, they were also great even though I was a nervous wreck. They called as soon as surgery was over, and kept her there on fluids to help her right til they closed. Then the next afternoon they called to check in!! So nice! Would recommend to anyone!

Awful vet clinic , they are nice and polite and professional at first just to get your money then the outcome is nothing but requiring more money and tests. This happened once many years ago with a family dog, then again recently after being forced to do business with them .. (another family pet that had gotten out and was dropped of here without our knowing) same experience hundreds of dollars spent with no definitive answers just more required test and more money to be spent ! Stay far away from this vet as many of our friends have experienced the same thing. Our best experiences have been with Thickwood Vet just down the road near subway.

Our dog was really sick a few days ago and aurora was able to get him in and stabilized. He needed IVs and a catheter and had to stay two nights. He was sent home with medicines and he seems to be doing well just in time for Christmas. Thank you beyond words for taking our boy in so sudden and helping him get better. It means the world to us. No complaints about cost. Every penny worth it to have him back home and on the mend. THANK YOU.

Aurora has treated our 4 pets for five years and every experience that we’ve had has been over and above. They’re kind, compassionate and professional. They remember our pets and treat them so kindly. We are always able to get in within a day or two and prices are comparable to other Fort Mac vets. Even the dogs are happy to come here.

Would not recommend. They screen clients, refuse to return calls, and misdiagnosed my pet. Took me going to another vet to fix their errors. I reached out to rectify situation with them and understand why they prescribed what they did. However, was met with attitude, and had to utilize other vets to get information from them. These other vets then informed me about the horrible behaviour of this particular clinic, and how they pick and choose who they want as clients based on appearance.... Bad first impression. I wish I had heard all the reviews and situations people had gone through prior to bringing pet here. AVOID IT!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. My dog is not the easiest when it comes to examining but the staff makes her feel comfortable enough to do what they need. They are very thorough and take the time to explain what they have found and why they are doing a particular treatment. We take all of our animals here and highly recommend this clinic.

Never had an issue with getting an appointment. The ladies at the desk were always smiling, pleasant and super helpful. Vets were good. I had to take my very sick cat frequently, and they never got frustrated even though his situation was complicated. They were empathetic and helpful when I had to put him down, even sent me a card. My Maltese is 10 years old and for the majority of his life I have brought him to the the Aurora vet clinic. The clinic is clean and I thought the service was reasonable. Early this year my dog got sick and as usual I consulted this clinic. After multiple vet visits there was still no improvement. At one point the vet clinic even called me and suggested I cancel my dogs appointment since they weren’t sure what they could really do. I finally took my dog to another vet and found very quickly his albumin level was critically low at 10. He has been diagnosed with PLE which we are struggling to get under control still. I am very happy I got a second opinion since this condition I am being told can be life threatening. If I didn’t go to another vet when I did perhaps my dog would be dead now which is really upsetting to me. I would not recommend this vet clinic based on my experience.

The moment you walk in through the doors, you are greeted with smiling faces. Very welcoming, knowledgeable, and all around great staff. My pets love coming to this clinic!

TERRIBLE. We were told to call when we got there due to the pandemic, yet they wouldn't answer the phone and when they finally did they put me on hold for 15 minutes. When we finally did get through to someone we were told we would be contacted when they were ready, this was all ready past our appt slot. 30 minutes passed and still nothing so I called again to be told there was several other animals to be seen prior to me and that they couldn't give me a time frame. Over an hour passed and they finally called....At this point we had all ready left. They had nothing to say for themselves either. My boyfriend and I Took serious time off work to bring our puppy in for this appt. Clearly this is how they do business. Plus after talking with some friends, I was also informed that this place gauges prices sometimes up to 3 x the amount of the cost at other vets. So if you feel like having your time wasted and your bank drained then go here.

Initially I had given this vet a 4 star review, however after multiple visits I have decided to reduce my rating to 1 star. This is due to a few issues I have come across. First the staff are unprofessional and do not seem to care for the animals at all. After multiple trips over the course of 2 months, which turned out to be quite costly I was no closer to finding out what was causing my puppy to have diarrhea. Only after speaking with a friend who’s dog had the exact same symptoms did I learn that the tap water was the issue. Second depending on which staff member you talk to determines the information you receive, often most of which is quite conflicting. Such as “the special diet is great for the puppy and will give him the same nutrition as puppy chow so he can stay on it for an extended period.” To “The special diet is only meant for short term use and will not provide the puppy with the nutritional value to promote growth” Finally, after one visit which cost over $500.00 I returned to buy some dog food and found that they had entirely forgotten to even charge me for the tick guard I had purchased the previous time. Now I have no issue for paying for what I purchase, however they aren’t organized enough to correctly bill me it worries me in how organized they are to look after my dogs needs. I could go on all day but in short I’ve decided that the 4.5 hour drive to my old vet in Edmonton is well worth it and will only use the vets in town in case of extreme emergency, but I certainly will never return to Aurora Veterinary Clinic.

This vet sent me to Edmonton for surgery on my Mastiffs leg injury, I booked time off work and went through the stress and financial cost of taking her to Edmonton. When I got to Guardian clinic they told me my dog was fine and just needed to loss a few pounds, it was mentioned that the wrong X-rays may have been sent. I'm glad we didn't have to do the surgery, but the entire trip should have been avoided.

The Vet said our dog may loose his eye because of a scratch, but recommended a specialist in Calgary. After driving to Calgary for a specialist/ 2nd opinion, he said the dog was fine and the eye would heal naturally. I wasn't impressed with the vets lack of knowledge, all they did was take my money, and offer nothing constructive. Will not use them again at any cost.

Quick to get an appointment which has saved me a ton of money over the past year. Vet herself seemed knowledgeable, she answered questions with supporting information. My pet was cared for quickly, shots caught up. I thought there was something like a dark hair in her eye and the vet examined carefully to see that it was actually pigment. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 is one of the intake gals is a little rough on the customer service skills, she was firm and loud on the fact that raw food diets are NOT recommended. Her facial expression while telling me was very serious and her tone was commanding, telling me what to do instead of telling me her recommendations with reasoning. The vet herself agreed but was kind, informative, and offered a fact sheet with the cons and kind of said “we need you to know the risks”. The vet obviously knows her customer service, but the intake gal needs to work on it as their business partially depends on bedside manners. If you don’t know your reasons, then let the vet do the recommending. It’s just a small thing, but the bad taste in my mouth made me second guess whether to come back, so it reallly is a critical piece.

We had choosen Aurora vet to be our "family vet" had visited for shots for our little puppy. On Saturday May 16 our poor puppy had a fall and we were extremely concerned she broke her leg due to the level of pain she was in. We called the clinic because they prginally told us they were the only clinic that was "open on Saturdays". They did not have a vet in the clinic working, would not contact their vet when explained the severity situation they said they wouldn't be able to see us to WEDNESDAY of the following week. They then proceeded to tell me that there was no one in Fort McMurray was on call and we would have to go to Edmonton to get help. We loaded up and drove the four hours to Edmonton with our puppy in extreme pain - she ended up fracturing her leg in two places. We later found out that Northern Vet Clinic was in fact on call and would have seen us. I will NEVER attend this clinic again nor would I EVER suggest anyone going.

Needed to have my large breed put down. Was quoted $795.48 for procedure and private cremation with scatter box. Same services in Edmonton $300. I understand a premium for Fort McMurray but this is gouging at its finest at a time I don't need it. Thanks for nothing Aurora!!

Terrible we usually go to another vet but this one had an opening they handled the situation completely wrong and put a muzzle on my dog who has never been violent in his life, loves everyone and goes with the flow and would not let us in the room to keep him calm 3 nurses had him pinned they didn't even tell him the lay down command and the doctor could tell he was in pain and kept playing with it and poking the wound while talking to us when he was obviously uncomfortable and wanted to stand up again. It was a terrible experience and will now only go to our original vet.

Let’s start with They bribe good ratings with the promise of a free dog tag. We Went here for my dogs a couple times. This vet /the staff doesn’t remember your animals or their conditions, are not friendly, more interested in getting paid than the animal itself. Staff Always have conflicting opinions about the most simple things. Etc After my old vet in Edmonton knew every animal and was very kind and cared more about the animals than a paycheque, had reasonable prices.. I can’t do this vet. Need to look for a new one as they 1. Don’t even compare 2. Give me a bad feeling when it comes down to the care of the dogs. 3. They bribe good ratings with the promise of a free dog tag.

We have had nothing but quality care when bringing our animals to see Dr Powell and her staff at the Aurora Veterinary Clinic. We frequent the office quite a bit as one of our dogs has allergies that require long term management. Dr Powell is always very thorough and sensitive towards managing her comfort and care. I appreciate knowing when I go to the vet my animals are in a very clean and comfortable environment.

Absolutely love Aurora vet clinic. Extremely clean, with wonderful staff who truly care about my pets. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and do their best to accommodate you. I have had 3 dogs and a cat treated for basic care, plus one emergency which was handled with compassion and kindness. Highly recommend, Dr Powell is absolutely wonderful!

My boyfriend's cat was sent there twice and prescribed antibiotics for 2 weeks. Still no result and can't give us a better reason why our kitten is sick aside from the obvious. Spent lots of money here and 0% result.
