Dr. Charlotte is a miracle worker. She delivered 10 puppies for my English Springer Spaniel and saved them all. Her stitch work is flawless. The small scar line is barely detectable on her abdomen. Her follow up with her clients is appreciated. So happy for my dog to have had such an incredible veterinarian in an emergency situation.

Updating my review. We did like this facility in the past, which is the reason for three stars despite an awful recent experience. One of the veterinarians suggested we let our cats roam outside to solve a behavioral issue. It’s my fault for taking this bad advice, but after one of my cats went missing they were hardly empathetic. I was really disappointed with their response. It even kind of felt like the vet who’d suggested it in the first place was avoiding talking to me after it happened. Also the wait times have been really awful lately. You end up sitting in your car for up to an hour. I understand being busy but it seems like the schedule could be better managed. I will be taking my cats elsewhere from now on.

But I’ve also seen them be very kind to pet owners not taking bad news well. A pet in distress can be an emotional roller coaster for the owner which they take in stride. I felt compelled to write this review after my visit to Nickel City Animal Hospital yesterday. Over the last 15 years of owning dogs I have gone to at least 7 different vets in the area; I could never find “the right one”. Due to the line of work I am in, I have gotten to know the staff at Nickel City over the years. They have always been kind, knowledgeable and honest. As time when on I became more comfortable with the staff there. Now that I own a dog that had issues with people, specifically being handled by people, I needed to find a vet committed to taking the time to deal with her, and deal with me. Nickel City was the place. I first worked with Dr. Alsford. She made each experience with Lila calm and simple. We would talk about any issues in great detail; go over treatments, and procedures if needed. Although, Lila never enjoy being handled, Dr. Alsford took great care in a calm, quick and thorough approach. She always went above and beyond for us; further researching, making things easier for Lila, and taking the time to talk over any new developments. Yesterday, I met with Dr. Lyden for an assessment/quote for a dental procedure. Yet again, another vet from the same facility blew me away! She took her time, never rushed and listened to what my concerns were. Dr. Lyden gave me her honest opinion on what needed to be done and why. If you are looking for an all-encompassing facility, from the receptionists to the veterinarians, this is the place to go.

All i have to say is THANK YOU to the staff at Nickel city animal Hospital. I brought my 8 and a half your old Great Pyrenees in with i thought was a broken front leg to find out it was broken,When they had taken xrays we found that all her bones had become very thin and brittle from Cancer they had given me a choice of amputation, or to have her euthanized. to amputate the leg would be cruel for her thin bones already having a hard time to hold her body weight with 4 legs i made the choice to have her put down .and to be cremated and bring her home they not only made it a lot easier to have done it but was amazingly supportive with the procedure. They gave my kids time to get there for the procedure and see her before she was euthanized and then the well finished urn was a work of care with her paw prints in a shiny finish and a card with all four paw prints . i would highly reccomend then to anyone that loves there animals

We found our new veterinary hospital! My pug had an eye injury and my OLD vet could get me an appointment in 2days! Unacceptable! My 3yr old pug was squinting and in pain. On a great tip from a fellow canine dad.... I called Nickel City Animal Hospital. I called at 11am, they fit us in at 2pm that day! They were even down a veterinarian and still fit us in. The staff was exceptional from the first call to the vet techs, Yoda was treated kindly and with compassion. Dr. Fletcher was welcoming, patient and very clear while explaining the entire exam and tests. It was easy to understand what I needed to do to help Yoda and how to administer his meds. When you receive such efficient, professional service with sincere integrity you must give thanks, spread the word and appreciate the people practicing it. Thank you Nickel City Animal Hospital, see you next week for Yoda's recheck.

Recently found this office as I was looking for a new vet for my dog. We saw dr lynden for a new patient exam and then went back for an annual dental visit. Immediate really good vibes with the doctor and the staff as well. Office is nicely laid out and it's the first time in a while that I can say that a really good doctor- patient connection was established. I'm really really happy to have found dr lynden; she is gentle and comfortable to talk to and very knowledgeable and she is very thorough. I left feeling very secure that my dog's health is in very good hands with her. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a vet.

We've had 3 vets in the 10 years I've had my cat and this is the best one by far. The staff is really friendly and gets to know our pets and show love and concern for their well being. There usually isn't a long wait even if you make an emergency appointment and are open on Saturdays. I love this place. :)

To the owner, just know I was told to take my pet to westside clinic instead of coming to your facility, when my dog is a "patient" to this hospital! I wonder how many people you lose to the ignorance of those handling your phone calls. This woman argued with me the whole time I was on the call with her and then slammed the phone down in my ear and hung up before I was even done speaking. If she can't handle her job GET RID OF HER before you lose more people.

I understand that you are choosing to not help new patients, but your menu offered an "if this is an emergency" option. What does that mean? I thought it meant you would help in an emergency. The woman who answered was so irritated. My cat is dying, can't keep in weight, and I just need help finding out where to go. She gets very frustrated and gives me the emergency services number. I admit, I began to cry. I have been calling so many people for help and no one has helped me and my cat has suffered for it. She hung up on me. She hung up on me as I was saying "thank to have a nice day" after she rudely blurted out the emergency phone number. I am leaving this review to remember to not use this place in the future. It's too bad.

Saved our dog. Avoided unnecessary surgery. Our 2yo shepherd mix was brought in very sick. Suspected some internal intestinal issue. With options being exploratory surgery or euthanasia. Vet took her in at last minute and in course of preparing her for surgery discoverd problem and treated with iv fluid and antibiotics. Was patient and undrstanding even though our dog fouled the OR when she released the pent up intestinal issue.

I called here to have my senior dog seen for pain relief for his arthritis. Hes 21 and doing great but limps every so often. The person that answered the phone put me on hold to look for openings for the next day. She came back and told me they have room for a euthanasia. I didnt even entertain the idea of euthanasia and was flabbergasted when she said that. I said no hes not being put down and she said they don't have time to be doing a full workup but can squeeze in a euthanasia. We won't be using them in the future. Only reason we were calling was our regular vet could not take us until 7 days later. Be careful with this place.

We love Nickel City! We started taking our cat, Elliott, when they first opened. Elliott is not the easiest cat in unfamiliar places at all, but they always make light of it and are so patient with him! We recently welcomed a new kitty into our home, Liv, and the vets and vet techs have been absolutely amazing in making sure that Elliott has been ok with Liv. Both cats were recently sick and the attention they gave the situation was superb. They called us so many times to check up on the cats...how wonderful is that? Reasonable rates, clean facility, and fantastic staff!

I have been with NIckel City Animal Hospital since they opened. I'd been with 2 other vets locally and NIckel City is, hands down, the best. The office staff, Sam and Claudia, are wonderful, knowledgeable, and compassionate. The veterinarians are excellent. I've meet all them over the years and have absolute confidence in there care recommendations. I seem to typically see Dr. Pletscher, she is wonderful. In an urgent situation, the Nickel City staff have always been there for me and my pets.

Really horrified to learn that the vet here referred my friend's poor dog for surgery in Toronto when there is a vet in Espanola who does THE EXACT SAME SURGERY FOR HALF THE PRICE!! This vet doesn't seem to understand that a) Toronto is a COVID hot spot - we're in the middle of a COVID outbreak and there is a TRAVEL BAN! b) WE AREN'T MILLIONAIRES, c) Posting for everyone else who is told to go to Toronto for $6000 for ACL surgery. There are other options!

I've been bringing my mastiff there for several years. He's big, and gets really nervous - which makes him a terrible patient. He's really not well behaved at the vet and is intimidating because of his size and aggression. With that in mind we've used sedation for check-ups and as much as it makes for an unpleasant experience for everyone (especially for him and my wallet) I've done it to make sure everyone is safe. He's now just under ten years old. He's due for his yearly check-up, but because of his recent drastic weight loss, vomiting, lethargy and general Ill health we've decided that we have no other choice but to put him down. I spoke to them about bringing him in and they immediately tried to have me bring him somewhere else knowing he'd be a new patient for whoever I called, or suggested we make an appointment with them 10 days from now knowing full well that he is sick. That seems a little insensitive to say the least. When I continued to pressure the receptionist she continued to make excuses about Covid, staff shortages, his previous behavior and so on and even said he was late for his annual (which was due in late December). I get it. Covid sucks. It's made businesses have to work twice as hard to stay alive, but I'm calling you to put my family member to sleep. Where is the compassion? I told them that I'd look for someone else to do it and they couldn't of been happier. My advise to anyone looking for a new vet is to look elsewhere. They're not going to be there when it really counts.

Went in for appointment and was taken back to hear the cost was double what other veterinarians charge in the Sudbury area. I cold called Cambrian Animal hospital and learned they would charge half so I went there and got fantastic service. I called Nickel City Animal hospital back to see how they can justify their prices and the response I got back was "they (Cambrian) are not up to the market pricing". I asked WHAT? Market pricing of ripping people off?? When I went to CAMBRIAN Animal Hospital I learned the vet there decided to ensure spaying and neutering was REASONABLY PRICED so people didn't break the bank for these procedures. AMAZING!!! Here is where it gets worse. Today I called Nickel City Animal Hospital for a vet appointment, booked it then got a call back from them telling me they "transferred" my pups file to Cambrian Animal Hospital since I got her spayed there. I called the other vet and my pups "file" was never transferred. It was clear that Nickel City (Vet/owner: Charlotte) is unhappy I got my pup spayed at half the cost so now they don't want my business. Very unprofessional. Chasing the money not the customers best interests. Compare prices before heading to Nickel City Animal Hospital.

Not good. Went here for a second opinion on the state of my cat but feel it wasn’t received as vet seemed to rely heavily on notes from previous vet. I don’t think there are good standards for the care of senior cats in Sudbury. I would avoid this place. Vet seemed compassionate but I now feel I was mislead on certain facts that unfortunately lead to me agreeing to euthanize my 16 year old cat who’d been quite healthy just a month ago, which I believe points more to untreated infection (kidney infection or UTI) rather than him dying from kidney disease in an unprecedented amount of time. I was in an extremely vulnerable state after dealing with a vet in Val Caron that offered no treatment or care path whatsoever. I was told I would be selfish not to put down my cat. Avoid this place. You may have to seek care in a city with better standards or an actual animal hospital.

not really much of a hospital more a clinic. They refuse walk-ins and are not accepting any new customers. hospital implies they take emergency's. dont come here if ur a new customer.

I got my 6 month old female bunnie spayed here. They were great with her, very wonderful people to deal with I have no complants at all. I was a little nervous as I didn't know what to expect with getting her spayed but they told me about the procedure and the after care and it calmed my nerves. She did amazing after the procedure she was back to her spunky self within 24 hours. So greatful that I found out about this place.also the price was great compared to all the other places I've checked out. Tks nickle city animal hospital for the great job on luna.

I had my dog spayed there. It was so clean and their employees are so sweet and so attentive to your needs as well as your family pets they gave me so much information it helped me so much and kept my worries to a minimum, her surgery was fast and she healed up perfectly! I thought with the size of the incision that there was going to be a huge scar ,but you can't even tell that she had it done. thank you for all your help and for caring for my dog like it was one of my children and shout out to fix all Bull for providing the funds to get my dog spayed. This wouldn't have been possible without either of them!

So glad I picked this clinic when we moved to Buffalo! Seriously, you should go here too. Dr. Sacks and her vet tech Amanda have been amazing. I absolutely love that they provide affordable but effective treatment options and clearly want what's best for our pets' health and our pocketbooks too. We had been to other vets that just ran lots and lots of expensive tests without ever successfully treating the issue. Without any expensive tests, Dr. Sacks identified the issue and a very easy treatment route.

My Fiance' Gina Contessa and I took our Puggle Sorella To see Dr. Sarah Poltis which we just followed her from City Creature Animal Hospital. Dr. Poltis is professional, easy to speak with, educational and most impotantly has a true love for what she does and that shows in how she treated Sorella and us. She took almost two hours with us to treat Sorella and educate us through the process, never leaving a step out, answering with great knowledge and confidence every question we had. Our dog needs follow up care and Dr. Poltis is going to be out of the country and she even set up an appointment for us to come in and just meet with Dr. Alissa Pletscher so that we can get aqainted with her before we have to bring Sorella back. This was above and beyond making us feel comfortable at her new practice. Her staff is wonderful as well. I would like to make a special comment about her Office Manager, Jeffrey Matthews. He is welcoming, warm, pleasent and always had a smile on his face. Thank you to both Dr. Poltis and Jeffrey Matthews for making us feel at home.
