Absolutely would recommend small DOG OWNERS to not choose this clinic. Extremely disappointed and frankly insulted with the way things ended. I left a voice mail last night telling them I was uncomfortable with the doctor (dr.christy) performing the surgery (my dog was going to get spayed) and said i I wanted a full refund and to be removed from their system permanently, after having brought in my dog day of surgery and they cancelled due to her screaming when they touched her stomach and up-selling my dad into buying pills, charging for a consult, and for bloodwork. After many phone calls back and forth with the receptionist I finally drove in to talk to Dr. Crhisty. She made it clear I was not getting a refund, and would not give me the blood work results until I agreed to no refund. In the end I got my results and a partial refund ($80 from the originally $250) she prescribed my dog pills before getting the results back which is what I did not want to pay for and would never give my dog pills without a reasonable cause, she screamed because she was nervous and i've seen dr.christy years ago and she seems not confident around small dogs. She then terminated my relationship with the clinic as i asked many times in the voice mail and to the receptionist. She then wrote a letter attached to my dogs medical records saying I was fired as a client for leaving a rude message stating ALL the doctors there incompetent, and for not returning her calls. Which I clearly said JUST HER in the voicemail (I've delt with Dr.Nate before, he was amazing,but left the clinic. The receptionist is very nice and helpful and caring) Very unprofessional and immature. I did call back every single time and she was busy every single time. I asked to be removed due to feeling uncomfortable that Dr.Nate was no longer there. So the fact the paper work says I got fired was just the cherry on top of this horrible experience. !!!! Disgusted a vet "who loves animals" would act this immature and vindictive in the paper work.

Amidst covid it's as good as it can be, But Dr. Rachel Thomas is a welcome addition. she is an amazing veterinarian and they are very lucky to have her there as a member of their team. She brings a thoughtfulness and caring for her patients that you don't find in most doctors nowadays!

My dogs had been going to this vet for years. I loved the vet and the staff. One afternoon I noticed my one boy was not able to stand up well and immediately went to call them but they were closing within a few hours. I phoned another vet, which they recommended me to see when my cat was sick once and they weren't able to see her, since they were open much later and got an appointment asap. They saw my dog, prescribed pain meds, and sent us home. My dogs condition did not improve so I called mcloed a few days later and they denied me service because I had taken my dog elsewhere and therefore was no longer a client. I explained that both my dogs had been seeing them for years, along with my cat. They said that while my dog seems to be in an emergency, I needed to call around and take him elsewhere. Very upsetting and quite unprofessional. I'm disappointed that I'll have to be looking elsewhere for a new vet as I did like this one very much.

My mom came in with her cat who was in terrible shape, the vet is reporting her to the spca for animal abuse when he did not do any tests or bloodwork to prove there was any abuse (which is not the case, my mom loves her cat with her life and always had water and food left out) and did not listen to my mother who was in hysterics as her cat was dying in front of her, she would throw up after eating and drinking and they tried blaming it on my mom, do not recommend

I've been with this vet for over a year now and it's going to be the only vet I'll ever go to. Everyone there is so kind and caring, I know when I bring my cats in they are getting the best care. They've solved problems for my cats that my old vet didn't bother taking the time to look into. All of my cats are comfortable going in and being examined, no biting or hissing, freaking out. The doctors are so gentle and caring. Finding a vet that actually cares about your animals is incredible so I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone. The prices are decent too and you and your pet get the service and care you pay for. They're incredible and I can't stress that enough.

Three weeks ago, I called the animal clinic to make an appointment for my daughters dog to have her annual check up and vaccines updated. When I made the appointment, I told them we wanted the dog to have "all" of her vaccinations updated and I asked the total cost in advance because I would be paying for the fees for my daughter. On the phone they said that for a check up and the vaccines, the cost would be $150.00 plus tax. Sounded reasonable to me! We went to the appointment and there was no waiting and they took us right away. I sat in the waiting area and my daughter was in the front examination room with the doctor and her dog. The door was open and I could hear some of the conversation. He did a great job and seemed caring, however, he talked my daughter out of getting one of the vaccines and said if she needs it, she can come back. (Bordetella) We weren't quite sure why he did this but we thought he is the doctor and knows best. My daughter needs to go away for a weekend and put her dog in the kennel so when she booked the kennel she realized that the doctor had not given her dog one of the vaccines that is "mandatory" if you are going to put your dog in the kennel. This is 3 weeks since we saw the doctor.....so we booked another appointment with him and told him we need that vaccine done right away. Yesterday we went to the appointment and we were in there no longer than about 7 minutes. That was great!!!! When I went to pay the fees, my bill was $96.00 I asked why this one vaccine was so expensive and the receptionist said well, vaccines are expensive and that was the Bordetella vaccine. I paid the bill but then asked for a print out of the costs. It was then that I realized they charged me $20.00 for the Bordetella vaccine and $65.00 for another exam and tax. When I mentioned that we had just had an annual exam, they said, it doesn't really matter because anytime you come for anything you will be charged an exam fee. I challenged them on the cost of that because if the doctor had given the dog the Bordetella vaccine when we were there 3 weeks ago we wouldn't have had to come back. The receptionist went to the back and discussed it with the doctor. There were NO other people in the clinic and the doctor would NOT come out and show his face to us at all. The receptionist was back there for several minutes and when she came out, she said that all she can do is give us a $30.00 credit towards our next visit. This was TOTALLY unfair and TERRIBLE customer service. They have NO INTEGRITY at all to do this to someone! I told them I won't need my $30.00 credit for a next visit because I will NEVER be coming back!!!!! I appreciated they were nice to my daughters dog, but I don't appreciate being ripped off and being taken advantage of by someone who does it "ON PURPOSE!" They knew when we came the first time that we would be needing the Bordetella vaccine, however they talked my daughter out of it knowig she would have to come back and then they could make an extra $65.00 because of a second exam fee! I can not believe people get away with this stuff!! I have never written a review on anyone before but I felt that someone needs to speak up and let others know to be aware of this so you don't get caught off guard and end up in the same situation! Hope this helps someone! :)

Very expensive, spent hundreds of dollars and still never ended up finding what the problem was with my cat who constantly chews on his paw and has sores that flare up around his nose. Also didn't care much for the female doctor's attitude. Another time I took the cat in with urinary problems and they kept insisting he had a blockage yet his bladder was empty, spent hundreds on those tests as well. Ended up taking him to emergency clinic and it turned out to be a urinary tract infection, took the doc there 5 mins to figure that out. Would not recommend McLeod Rd Animal clinic.

But first, she left no stone unturned in her diagnosis and treatment before we came to the end of the road. She cared for our girl like she was her own. I will not hesitate to bring all my animals into her care <3

I have had cats my whole life and have taken them to vets in st.catharines fonthill and Niagara falls. I can honestly say that I have never been treated better than by dr.Christy. She explains everything to me and makes sure I know what is going on. When she recommends something it is because she cares about the well being of my cat. She is a doctor who cares about animals and does everything she can (and I can afford) to help me and my pet.

First time visit for cat with "head cold" symptoms that were starting to get worse after a couple of weeks. Went weekday afternoon (same day appt). All staff very nice, compassionate, professional and informative.

Wouldn’t recommend!!!!! My dog went in for a dog fight the vet quickly looked over him didn’t clean him up didn’t shave around the bite wounds. Didn’t do anything except treat for shock. He told me so many times nothing was life threatening and he will be fine. Gave us a bottle of soup so we could clean the wounds ourselves at home. Well 15 min after we walked through the door he died. It was close to there closing time so I guess he rushed to get us out of there and did not do his due diligence. If we had any idea he could die we would have rushed him to the emergency clinic we would have spent and done just about anything to save his life. The vet told us repeatedly nothing was life threatening and why would we not believe him. Please keep your beloved pets away from this vet.

They're always friendly and the vets are very caring and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating to my terrified puppy (he's s a rescue and very untrusting of people), the vet did the examination in the waiting room since there was no one else there. Pricing is average, not super cheap or overly expensive. They don't try to sell you dog food like some vets, or upsell unnecessary things.

They do not know very much about diabetic dogs . They believe all dogs fit into the same mold but they do not. They have no experience with different diabetic dog foods but the ones they sell which are full of bad cheap ingredients and very expensive. It was pushed in me. They do not have experience using other insulins other than Caninsulin which doesn't work well for every dog and is harsh for smaller dogs. Year later struggling to regulate my dog still ! They way over charge on syringes, insulin and food ( if you can call Corn, corn ,soy , powdered cellulose and more corn healthy ? ) Discouraged and scolded me from home testing , discouraged me from using any other food but the ones they sell . I cannot work with a Vet like that ! Other people use store bought foods, use other insulins and home test and their dogs are regulated... I am still struggling under this vets care . Over a year now. Also my dog was almost overdosed on insulin by a vet there. Cost me emergency vet costs because of it. If BG is really low at peak insulin and high the rest of the day you NEVER INCREASE INSULIN ! Increase is based on the lowest number ! Not the highest .They should know that !! If a dog is having really low BG at peak insulin and crashing and high the rest of the day on 3 units you DO NOT increase to 4 units !!! OMG ! I know better now as I learned everything I know online and from support groups and not from the vet.

My regular Veterinarian is an hour drive away but I needed a pain prescription re-filled for my Doodle, so, being local, I came here and was gouged paying $40.59 MORE! ( Almost double ) for the EXACT same brand and size Metacam... Nothing like taking advantage of people and/or pets in need... Only way to fight back is spread the word...

So I called and made sure they had a certified avian vet. I was reassured that they do. So I called again to make the appointment and asked again to make sure was a certified avian vet. Oh yes. Yes we have a certified avian vet. Got estimates for what needed done. Get there and turns out isn't a certified avian vet. And to top it all off. They couldn't even do what needed to be done! Because they aren't certified. Have to go to Guelph Ontario. So save your time and just go there people. I took time off of work and drove from St. Catherine's. And was all for a big waste of time. And it stressed my poor bird out. Not happy with people who lie. Especially when it comes to my fids. So thanks for wasting my time and the money it cost me to drive there.
