There’s a Betty dance for sure! When my dog got home from being groomed she was wheezing and reverse sneezing a lot. Unusual for my dog, with no idea in mind of why this could be. That’s normal for the little dogs, but not when she’s fully resting, usually only when she’s overly excited or if she drinks water too fast. So, I called back and they were so sweet and said being her back in right now, we can see her to make sure she’s ok! Great! Amazing, in fact!! Unfortunately, after waiting to get back in to see the doctor: quickly we were met by a rather agitated (probably just tired) doctor who, in short, made me so uncomfortable to the point that I picked up my bag and my little darling and walked out because I could feel the tears coming. I left very upset - for no reason. We had never had anything but a good experience here 100% of the time(s) we’ve been there. There was no good reason to make someone upset for a simple check over. I was informed I was not allowed back by this particular doctor and to enjoy my last time there? for what reason, I’m not sure? As I left, one of the other veterinarians overheard all of this at the front desk and thankfully and magically she came running out after us and OFFERED to HELP! Wow! Blown away. That is 5 star all the way! Dr. Marylisa Reynders who volunteered her time and examined my dog (who is my everything)found she did have a little respiratory issue and prescribed her a tiny medication, which she not only cut in half for me (!!!!) she also waived the fee for it! I was blown away! What a wonderful woman, Dr. Marylisa Reynders, is!! Highly recommend her! Dr. Souza is also excellent, as well as the staff and Betty, the wonderful and very sweet groomer. *We hope to return despite this 1 incident. *

We're extremely grateful for Dr. Reynders' professional services as our terrier (Bailey) completed her final stop in her life's journey. Given Bailey's heart condition, Bailey needed monthly prescription refill. Even during the middle of the pandemic, we didn't have any interruption of medication due to McClelland's responsiveness to changing their operations to ensure safety of the owners and the staff. Otherwise, the clinic is a full-service practice with both preventive visits and the ability to perform small surgical procedures. Despite having a parking lot, it's sometimes difficult to get a parking space.

Every experience I've had with this clinic has been excellent. Routine yearly checkups have been easy to book, and easy to readjust times. The employees answering the phone have always been pleasant (even when you annoyingly call back immediately to double check something small). One time last year my cat got sick for unknown causes. The vet was extremely accommodating, took my budget into account, and still went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this clinic.

About a year ago our dog developed a hot spot that was making him very uncomfortable. We called our regular vet and the only appointment they could offer us was 4 days out. Of course we didn't want our dog to be so uncomfortable for such a long period of time, so we called McClelland. Our dog wasn't even a client of theirs, but they understood the urgency and squeezed us in for an appointment later that day. We've been going to McClelland ever since, and the staff has continued to be just as friendly and accommodating as they were that first day. We are especially thankful for Dr. Souza and the time he takes to thoroughly look over our dogs at every appointment. He not only treats our dogs well, but he is wonderful with us, too. We never leave there with any questions or concerns about the quality of treatment our dogs received.

I adopted my first dog a few months ago during the pandemic and have been very pleased with McClelland Small Animal Hospital. I first brought my dog in for vaccines and a check up. I was very pleased with the doctor, as well as their honesty with which vaccines my dog needs and which aren’t necessary. They have made pick up and drop off very convenient during Covid. Another bonus is that they do grooming services here so I also bring my dog in for that. I’ve been very pleased with the services and the prices are very reasonable for such a good and thorough job. My dog gets separation anxiety but she does well here. Very pleased overall with the professionalism, expertise, and environment here.

They are awesome here. They work a lot with foster groups and help with low income families with pets. They also find homes for pets in need. I adore the staff, they're kind and patient, they took their time and were gentle with my foster dog who was a bit nervous. I recommend this vet. They even helped me w a surgery for a cat years ago that was emergency need and I could not afford it. They helped defer the cost just so I could keep my pet. This is vet my gram takes her dog to. So i took her dog for her this time due to covid. They do not let you in. My gram's pomeranian needed to get his shots updated, meds n was in desperate need of grooming to be done. They did a wonderful job for the price. I used to really love coming here with my pets. However, the last few times the vet took the liberty of giving my cats shots they did not need. They did not explain what they were doing nor ask permission. If they had asked, I could have shown them documentation that my cats had the vaccinations they forcing on us. In one case, the hospital had the records on file which leads me to believe they didn't read the information, didn't understand it or they were vaccinating for profit. I have made a decision not to return. Dr. Souza was always wonderful and Philip, the receptionist, was always great. I have neither the patience nor the pocketbook for the other vet.

Took my dog to get spayed with friends of animals coupon. Did a 2 to 3 min exam on her. ( was only 2 blocks away) said she had heart arrhythmia and couldn't proceed with surgery. They recommended another dr to perform echo on her heart $400. Took her to see her regular vet. They said they didn't hear anything during there 20 min examine nor the multiple examines before this day. This is just my experience. Im just disappointed.

This vet was recommended by a family member. We brought our new kitten in for shots and to get spayed. The whole staff was wonderful!! The office and patient rooms were nice and clean. The staff took the time to get to know my little baby, as well as me! The doctor did a great job on the surgery as well. I had a few questions when we got home....a couple of times...and they answered ALL my questions and told me to call back any time. They made us feel like we were in very good hands. I recommend this office to everyone!!

Dr. Doyle was super compassionate and gentle concerning the eye issue I brought in my older best friend for initially, as well as the other issues that come with having an older dog. I cannot say enough positive things about this animal hospital. My cat needed to be brought in and they got me an appointment the day that I called. I wasn't able to go because of school so my boyfriend took her. They were extremely accommodating and the doctor was willing to talk to me at length about what was going on. He said they were very thorough and informative. We originally came here for a second opinion because I just felt like my former vet was missing something. I am completely satisfied with the service we received at McClelland and will be using them as my primary vet from now on. Also, they were very inexpensive which is a bonus!

The staff was friendly and we could tell they cared about our fur babies. We were a bit apprehensive at first because they had to go in without us due to the COVID-19 situation. Though we saw our dog pull back and look at us. We saw the vet tech stop and reassure her before continuing. The Dr. came outside and talked to us about them. It was a couple of dollars more than we were quoted,but at least a hundred dollars less than the other vet we called. I recommend this as a good clinic,.. They do shots, exams,surgery,and grooming.

I had an appointment for my rabbit to get spayed. Most vets do not spay rabbits due to them being exotic. When I found this vet for spaying I was very excited and I made an appointment but I had to wait about 2 months to actually get her in (which is totally fine and normal) my appointment was at 8am and I live about 35 minutes away PLUS I actually had to work at 10 am the day of the appointment. When I got to the vet I called them to let them know I was there just for them to tell my their vet that does the surgeries for rabbits no longer does surgery. I was told I got a call from them saying my appointment was canceled but I did not get any calls and I looked in my phone history. I not only wasted my morning driving her to the vet in traffic, but I am very disappointed because now I have to wait months to get her into another vet.

My animal rescue has been taking their cats here for years, and they even board cats and dog. A truly great place with caring knowledgeable staff.

I brought my dog to this facility because it was the only one relatively close to my house that accepts a certificate from Friends of Animals. I was more than grateful when the vet called and personally asked if he could shed some relief on a completely unrelated issue my dog was having while the certificate covered the anesthetic and medication. He saved us over $800 and my dog is better than ever! I believe I will be switching permanently to this vet!

The vets and other employees are knowledgeable, friendly and kind to animals. The also don't give you the hard sell on all the extra stuff that other vets offices seem to.

Poor treatment of animal patients and poor treatment of customers. Go anywhere else. You risk your pets health by going here. Strangely enough after posting the review I was contacted by someone who claimed to be a veterinarian at this animal hospital. Then I receive a response to my review asking me to contact them directly. Unfortunately for McClelland Small Animal Hospital my issues stem from contacting them directly. The staff stonewalled me when I needed help for my pet regarding a procedure that was performed at their animal hospital. Since I explained the situation to the veterinarian that called me it seems disingenuous to me to recommend that I contact them directly since that is exactly what I had done at the time and what I informed the man that called me before this response to my review of McClelland Small Animal Hospital was posted. I recommend that all be very wary of those that don't take responsibility for their actions. While at first the follow up call seemed positive, the response to my review leaves something to be desired.

I called the hospital about a month ago to get a quote for low income spay for my puppy. I reminded them I am indeed low income and I'm furloughed and I needed to save up for her spaying. They quoted me in and out the door for 130ish. I come to the appointment and they bring out paperwork that I was able to choose add-ons for the surgery. (Very necessary add-ons to make sure she is safe and feeling her best after.) Feeling blindsided that this was not mentioned in my initial phone call (they should have at least educated me so I didn't have to make a split second or even give me a chance to save extra during this time) I felt completely pressured sold into the add-ons. I did have a choice of what I could've gotten for her and I opted out for multiple vaccinations cause I could not make that a priority. But if I did get swindled into the full price I wouldve been out 500 dollars worth of rent money. Again, if they told me during our first phone call I wouldve felt more confident but the upselling caught me off guard and left a sour taste in my mouth.

I went to McClelland's this morning for an 11a.m. appointment with a foster dog. By 11:15, I was still waiting. I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be , I told her I was on time for my appointment. There were no emergencies that came in to the hospital either. Every time that I have gone there for my foster dogs I always have to wait. I am always on time for my appointments. The longest I have ever waited was 45 minutes, again, no emergency case had walked into the hospital. When I scheduled a follow up appointment , I was told by the receptionist that I should "leave myself enough time." I understand things come up, but every time I am there? I wonder how the staff would react if I was 15, 30 or 40 minutes late every time that I had an appointment? They have no respect for my time. After I spoke up today , I was seen soon after, but if I did not say anything , I wonder how much longer I would have waited.

Had to bring my rat in for a respiratory infection. They were very accommodating after I took some wrong turns and was late. Only took about 20 minutes. They were very nice and gave us medication for her. Would recommend.

McClelland's is the absolute go-to for bunnies!!! My 8-year-old Daisy's back legs were failing her. My previous clinic had switched to a once-a-month rabbit tech so I had to find another. When I brought her in for Dr. Souza, intrinsically, he knew the problem was neurological - but due to a worming 'thing' that most bunnies are born with. Instead of ordering exotic tests, we started her off on worming meds. And she came roaring back as tho' she never had a problem. During that initial visit, he also cleaned her ears to help her balance. That created a noticeable improvement even before the meds kicked in. Another problem she had was beginning incontinence. Dr. Souza knew that estrogen would help. I decided not to use it because of the cancer aspect. I do have to 'get after' her a lot, but then, so would any parent with a two-year old. Fortunately, I just confine her to the kitchen and back room with lotsa plastic under her rugs. Throughout it all, Amy (the lead vet-tech) provided a lot of crisis counseling for me. lol About a year later, she just stopped eating. Dr. Carrig saw her and we discussed how, not just what, she was eating. He had me eyeball her when she ate and it turned out that she couldn't pick her food up any more due to two surgically removed teeth and one that just fell out. So, from the counter banter with Katie, Rachel, Chelsey and Judi, I now cook up a bunny smoothie of pellets, pulverized hay and greens mixed with critical care. She eats it like a little maniac, alternating between that and regular pellets. Ben, another tech, usually takes us into the examination room and is genuinely interested in her presenting symptoms. But then, so are Eric and Phil whenever they've escorted us! Betty Jean is such an inspiration, with her horses and kayaking. She's held my Daisy like a newborn. Dr. Souza once told me that bunnies have the fragility of birds. Don't we all. Life and health is celebrated at McClelland Small Animal Hospital.

The vet tec while lifting my dog off the examination table hit my dogs head on the door of the examination room, then when I noticed the blood mark on his head, they said it was just blood from the gloves he was using. Barely suitable people to be handling pets. He now has a giant lump on his his skull and I will be contacting management.

The good folks at McClelland saved my bunny’s life. She began exhibiting signs of GI stasis (life-threatening within hours) and I was lucky enough to get their number after calling seven different emergency vets in the area who couldn’t see her. I got her in that very afternoon and they were so caring toward her, as well as informative and helpful toward me. Sent us home with the meds we needed and the appropriate information. My sweet girl was feeling more like herself before the break of dawn, and I do believe it was thanks to the care over at McClelland’s. Clementine and I thank you!!!
