There care towards animals was excellent. Very friendly staff. They are quite expensive though.They also said that The Farley Foundation would not cover tooth extractions but when we went to another Vet, they were able to apply for funding help from the Farley Foundation, so Heartland was clearly wrong. The Vet also told us that the Advantage flea and tick treatment was complimentary, we just needed to pay the tax, but we were charged $26 for it on our bill and given a rebate form that we had to mail away to reimburse us for only 10$. Meaning we paid $16 out of our pocket for something they told us was complimentary. So they lied. Wrong about getting funding and lying about complimentary treatment is totally unprofessional & untrustworthy. I would only recommend them if you have lots of money and don't mind being overcharged.

Heartland Niagara Hospital is the most amazing veterinary experience. They always ask if my kid wants a snack and if I would like something to drink. But aside from that. They treat my fur babies like they are their own. Top of the line veterinary care without price gauging. They really care about you. The front staff is organized and always so sweet and concerned. They always squeeze my fur baby in usually same day of call. Can't say enough about this place. Excellent service. Smart and sweet staff. They also have a reward system much like Shoppers and PC Plus. So if you buy products like food or meds, etc. and receive services you get points. My 2.5 year old German Shepard Jax was very lathargic and losing weight rapidly. Dr. Amanda was great in advising us the tests needed to make a proper diagnosis. He is now on the mend and it makes me so happy that my furbaby is In good hands. The staff are very helpful and love all the animals that come through the door. They help me with the dog food bags out to my car as I have a little one with me. So fast at emailing me back . I wouldn't my GSD anywhere else. I'd reccomend them to anyone! Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital is absolutely amazing! By far thee best veterinary hospital that our family has ever come across. Our 5 year old female Dogo Argentino named Oreo was having chronic issues with her ears. it was always a struggling trying to clean her ears and keep them clean. They had gotten so irritated that she wouldn't let anyone touch them. They had gotten really bad it started to spread into her nasal cavity and eyes. We strongly believed that she would need to be put under to have them cleaned. That was until she met Justin and the team at Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital. She fell in love right away. She also suffers from anxiety so this was a really big deal for her and him to connect like they did. She will be back in two weeks for a check up and we are really looking forward it. Pricing too wasn't bad at all! About the same price or less if a human were to go to a doctor and get medications that wouldn't be covered by OHIP or benefits. Same thing, different species. My children happen to have fur and their health and happiness is a big priority. Heartland doesn't add anything to the bill without discussing everything and they aren't pushy at all. They are informative, kind, caring and treat the animal owners just as good as they treat the animals. Exceptional service and experience. Our family has found the perfect "Pet Family Doctor" HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I went here because our previous vet was closed due to the pandemic. To me they just seem money hungry. Not at all caring about the animals first. They have their ways to make you come back. Our previous vet would've given us a break depending on the situation. Heartland could care less and will willlingly charge you over $2,500 for urinary tract infection treatment...which wasn't even fixed! My cat is still having issues! Thanks for nothing but sucking away our hard earn money! Never coming back!

Make an appointment 2 weeks out, come to said appointment to tell me "the receptionist remembers talking to you and taking your appointment, but it's not in our system and we're booked for the day. Just heard the most, depressing story about how this clinic treated a friend of mine. He brought his dog into this vet. They sent a dog home twice...Only checked it's temperature and charged $200 for eye drops and a check... my friend then took the pup to another clinic. The dog had a miscarriage and had rotten pups inside her. When my friend went back to the heartland establishment the vet on duty tried to encourage a fight with my friend. said lets take this outside... Later while in the parking lot two female assistants came out banging on my friends window saying " my boy friend is a cop you're going to jail... my advice. find a new VET. 1 star because you can't give them a negative review..

This is a great vet clinic. I would definitely get on their monthly payment plan if you have a dog as the Niagara region is so prone to ticks and things. It has saved us a ton of money over the years. My only complaint, if I had one, is that prices aren't oftentimes discussed until after we agree to purchase something, be it medication, an examination, etc. There is this assumption I guess that 'price doesn't matter'. For some pet owners, I certainly agree, it doesn't. For this pet owner though, it does. I would appreciate a more straightforward approach on cost. Otherwise though, things have always been good here.

On the two occasions that I have been to this clinic, I have found everyone to be understanding, patient, and willing to spend whatever time was necessary to explain anything that warranted elaboration. One of these times was unfortunately to say good-bye to one of our family dogs. I was made out to feel as though my dog was the only dog in the history of the world that was aggressive when around vets. He started fearing them after a long heartworm treatement at this clinic. I didn't know what to do and didn't want to sedate my dog every visit but pretty much had to. It was exhausting and expensive.. I told them I was thinking of switching and they emailed me asking why and seemed concerned, I responded honestly, and then they just didn't answer. I went there for 2 years and they have a LOT of my money so I expected a better response than that. Switched and my dog has been great with his new vets.

My fave part is hearing the whole team cheer her on when she’s about to have her vaccinations done and following the vaccinations ???? ???????? They also are one of the only Veterinary offices with plans that make your expenses feasible and ensure your pets are taken well care of! I would highly recommend this office specifically to anyone in search of a new vet or transitioning to a new vet. I recently moved to Toronto and still chose to stay with this Vet. Best vet around! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Dr Amanda explains procedures and treatment plans effectively, and is so kind to your animal. Our senior cat Loki is NOT a fan of ANY vet, it causes him a lot of stress, and he is often aggressive towards the staff. I love that this clinic understands his limitations - they take it VERY slow with him. He is given the breaks he needs and the staff understand when he's had enough of them! Although our kitty is grumpy, they provide the best care all while telling him how handsome he is. Although any vet care is expensive, this one is definetly worth the price for the compassion and quality they provide!

Our experience here has been nothing short of phenomenal. From reception to the vet techs right to the vets themselves they re friendly and warm to welcome you into their place. Our dog needed surgery to remove a growth on his eyelid and not knowing what it was was very concerning to my wife and I. Our dog was 12 years of age at the time and wanted to be informed of all the options we had so that we could make an educated decision regarding his future. Dr.Amanda was our vet and she laid out a detailed plan for us and provided us with a cost breakdown and various options. Nevertheless we decided to do the surgery and have never regretted doing it. We are very grateful to the Doctors and staff here....they care for your pets and they care about you also.

It's hard to find a great vet as a small animal owner, but all the vets I've had at Heartland are experienced with Guinea Pigs and genuinely seem to care about their welfare - which is VERY important to me. The support staff are all exceptional also. Me and the little piggies highly recommend!

My 5 and half year old husky had to have 1 tooth pulled I took her to my original vet on Lundy's lane and he was gonna charge me 500$ for the procedure... So I took her to heartland to get a second opinion... Heartland was gonna do dental x-rays, cleaning of the teeth, and trim her nails for 1300$... They did the x-rays and found 2 other small teeth that needed to be pulled along with the the main tooth that had 3 roots and did it... The other vet wasn't gonna do the x-rays which means my girl would have to go through it all over again...She also needed cleaning and they trim her nails for free.. I hate when I have to go through several surgeries so why would I want to put my girl through that if I don't have to... I did my research on all vets including running there names through the vets governing body... My original vet was suspended 2 times.. 1 time was because he was in a surgery and the dog got to much antistatic and died... The 2nd was because of medication for cats.... Heartland went above and beyond... My husky is much more hyper (thanks heartland) she eats like a horse now and loves to wait for us by the door.... The price means nothing to me when it comes to keeping my Husky happy and healthy... Vet bills are not cheap, but with owning a animal comes responsibility sometimes it's costly... If you don't want to pay vet bills then don't own an animal.. I suggest you to do your research for vets... Make sure you get what you are getting... My Husky (Sheba) is better then she was before.. The sad part was the first day she was whiny... I highly recommend this Vet and there staff... They are amazing, patient, and very informative... My girlfriend, Myself Brian and my husky "Sheba" says thank you... We will see you at the end of the month for a vet check up... This vet is awesome... Can't say that enough... I just had my first experience with Heartland and it was fantastic. It's unfortunate I wasn't able to properly meet with them due to the covid-19 restrictions, however, they were kind, patient and I had no doubts that they were going to take good care of my pooch. I had a bit of an emergency (that turned out to be not an emergency) and they slotted us in immediately even though I wasn't a previous client. Maverik is not an easy dog to handle. He shuts down, gets nervous and is very uncomfortable at the vet. Of late it seems there is always someone different tending to our dogs we are always having to explain each dog’s situation to a new person. There is no personal service. They are excessively covid cautious you are not able to enter with your pet which makes the experience very impersonal. To be fair I’m not sure if that is a provincial mandate. Even though we have a “plan” with them we take our dogs elsewhere for anything that is not covered by our plan. They are over priced and seem very focused selling unnecessary creams and pills. It just seems they are focused on the money and if they delivered awesome service I wouldn’t mind.

Being Senior citizens, my husband and I have had quite a few Vets over the years, but, in our opinion, Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital, is the best ever. Your pet will always feel loved and cared for and his/her treatment will always be topnotch. You and your pet will both be treated with utmost respect. The Staff are always professional, taking the time to listen to your concerns, to reassure you and, they spend time chatting with you, getting to know you as a person. It's this human connection, coupled with excellent care and facilities that makes Heartland superior to others.

Botched our lab's euthanasia. She lost her vision and was crying, convulsing on the table. No one should have to watch their dog suffer a traumatic death. Also recommended that we euthanize our cat (since we didn't want to spend thousands on him sitting in a cage at the clinic hooked up to an IV drip) when he became jaundiced brought on by him not eating. Who knew the cure was force-feeding him back to health? Not this vet clinic. He's made a full recovery and living a happy life.

Worst Vet Ever! These positive reviews must be from friends and family and must be shill reviews because the clinic overcharges for every thing. My experience there was terrible. I brought my dog in to get a skin lump checked out. The vet told me that she should take a biopsy of it. She scared me into thinking it was something bad, so I agreed. The charge was outrageous. But they led me to believe that it was because they had to send it away to a lab. Well, I waited and waited for the result and still got no phone call and it had been a week. I finally called myself and they said that it was benign. I asked why they didn't call and that I was very worried all this time, and why did it take me to call them? They claimed because it took a while to get back from the lab. Well, I went in to their clinic to get a copy of the report and guess what? They never sent it to a lab. They just looked at it under their microscope in the office and it said on the paper that there wasn't enough cells to determine what it was. Horrible horrible service!! So I said I wanted to talk to the vet, the reception desk woman rudely told me I would have to wait and it could take all day. I told them that is ridiculous and that when she is finished with the pet she is in the room with, that she should have the courtesy to come out to talk with me. Then when the vet came out, I talked to her and she took me to another room and told me that they could take another sample and send it to a lab but that I'd have to pay another $130+ dollars!!! I was so upset and I told her that it was unfair and then she said she would give me a discount on their price of taking the sample. I ALREADY PAID THEM THE FULL PRICE TO TAKE THE FIRST SAMPLE!!!!! Needless to say, I was very upset when I left and I had to take my dog to another vet, one that actually is good, and he checked out the lump and right away from what it looked like, he knew it was a benign lump, it was just a wart!!! No way would I ever recommend anyone to come to Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital. All they care about is money and overcharging, and their fake attitude is not care for your dog, it's just manipulation for you to accept their outrageous charges. They are like used car salesmen. They will act friendly, but you will not get a good product in the end. Horrible! Don't go!

Because of the misdiagnosis given at this clinic, we nearly lost our beloved pet 10 years before the natural end of his lifespan. The doctor examined him and told me that he had lost his ability to eat and that treating him would be too long and likely unsuccessful process, and said he needed to be euthanized. No information on how he could be saved if I had wanted to was offered until I pressed for it. After they left me with him crying to say my goodbyes for a few minutes, they kept coming in to 'upsell' his death, such as with paw prints, etc. Thank goodness when looking into his eyes I saw that there was still a spark and will to live, and I asked the doctor where I could get a second opinion. They once again tried to tell me he couldn't be saved, and that it would require thousands of dollars for intervention, but reluctantly gave me the name of an emergency hospital. I drove him there, and was told by the expert doctors for my type of pet that he did not have the condition the Heartland doctor had told me he had, but rather another that they had missed, and showed me how to treat his illness at home. Yes, it was a lot of work giving him medicine every day and adjusting his diet until he got strong enough again to eat regular food, and he did end up needing surgery for his other problem, but the latter was only half the cost of what I had been warned, and he is healthier and happier than ever now. I am so relieved because we love him like a member of our family. Furthermore, when I went back to Heartland to get some medicine for him, the nurse gave it to me in needles that were four times bigger than they should have been, and whereas with the other hospital's tiny needles he wouldn't even wince when I injected him, with these he would twitch and fight and cry out because clearly they were hurting him. They also did not call me to ask how he was doing after his other hospital visit and treatments, and that was very hurtful given they knew he was very sick and that we were so broken hearted about nearly losing him. This hospital should be much more careful, and should not diagnose for species that are not in their area of expertise. ALWAYS ASK FOR A SECOND OPINION!

My senior cat almost died , my previous vet couldn't figure out whats wrong with her, after alot of expenses and stress I decided to give a try another place. So I came to heartland animal hospital , the best thing I ever did. Dr. Aron Bhan the best Veterinarian right away he figured out whats wrong with her and explained the what options I have for treatment for my cat. My cat is alive and pain free now, Dr. Aron Bhan is very reasonable and kind and the staff is awesome too. O by the way the cost is reasonable too. I highly recommend Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital to anyone who cares and loves their animal.

After purchasing a very sick rabbit from Paul Mac's Petstore in Niagara Falls Ontario on Morrison Rd we took him straight to Heartland Niagara Animal Hospital. The staff gave us an emergency appointment and explained his condition due to the neglect he endured at Paul Mac's. They gave us pain killers and antibiotics for him and even made another emergency visit for him at the partner clinic in Welland to have surgery on his mouth for that very same day. They have saved his life! Excellent care by the vets. The petstore, Paul Mac's on Morrison in Niagara Falls should be ashamed of themselves for letting a 14 week old bunny nearly die while in their care however!

I brought my brand new French bulldog puppy in 2 weeks after we got him. He had a seizure and they did a great job keeping me calm in an extremely stressful situation. They told me to come and they took him instantly. He is now 5 months old and I would never think of bringing him anywhere but here. He has never had any more seizures and they knew exactly what to do. I love everyone that works at this vet, they all love my dog and make him feel so comfortable with all the snuggles and treats, awesome job you guys????

Awful experience. My dog got into a fight with another dog. He had about a 4 inch open wound (not actively bleeding)I called around the the closest offices to ensure I didn't waste my time; as I just bought a house here and am not familiar with the vets around here. They told me to come in immediately and they would assess him and if the doctor didnt have time that i would be sent to the emergency clinic. Which was fine with me. just wanted him checked out. Turns out i got there; waited 45 minutes to be seen while my dog had a 4 inch open wound on his neck. They were babbling about how her dog keeps pooping in the same spot and its "so easy" for you to pick up his mess. Waited another 10 mins until I interrupted and said "hey; this is kind of a big deal." Anyways; turns out the doctor isn't even in today. at all. so I sat there for 45 minutes for literally nothing. They should have just directed me to the Welland clinic. %100 waste of my time and putting my dogs health at risk with carelessness. Then she told me i could just collect the whole bill at the emerg clinic in welland. Ok. She prints me out the WRONG directions to the emergency clinic and told me I owed $90 for looking at him but all they did was open the wound more. They didn't take his temperature. They didn't inspect for infection. They also made me rewrap his wound with the bandage I came in with after she crumpled it up and nearly threw it out. I actually had to ASK for new gauze so I could transport him and the vet tech looked at me like I had 10 heads. I can't even deal with this clinic. I will NOT be recommending it to ANYBODY I know. I work at a pet friendly hotel; will NOT be directing any guests here. In fact will tell them to avoid it at all costs.

I've had to move a few times, so I have had experience with a few different vet clinics and have never had any problems until I came here. I took my puppy here to get his shots. They have you park and wait in the car while they take your pet in which is totally fine but you would think they would go over things with you first before they do anything. All the vet clinics i've been to, the vet themselves go over exactly what vaccines they will be giving and ask if you want the optional ones ie leptospirosis or bordatella. Well at this place the vet calls you AFTER they have already given the shots so my puppy ended up getting 2 shots that had i known would have said no. I called to inquire and the lady said they have new employees and that the person coming out to get the pet should be asking/going over things. Im sorry but that should not be an excuse. We are trusting you with our pets, if you have new employees, you should be training them properly. Although I'm not even sure why the vet themselves here are not doing this and are delegating this to other staff. As a health care professional myself, I would not be asking my assistants to be discussing medical info on my behalf. That is just completely unprofessional. If I cant even trust them with giving my puppy vaccines which is such a routine thing, how can I trust them with anythimg else. Will not be coming back here.

My senior dog fell and the fall caused him to have a seizure . With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a blanket and rushed him to the nearest vet. When I arrived to the vet office the front desk lady was helping another lady choose dog food. I waited patiently as my dog cried in pain in my arms. The front desk lady did not acknowledge me or my dog she just went about discussing dog food with her other costumer. Finally I spoke up and said “I have an emergency” and explained my situation. The lady told me that the vet had two appointments and I needed to go elsewhere. At this point my dog was crying in pain and I didn’t even know if he was going to live. I was so surprised and disappointed at the same time I just rushed out of there because I needed to get him help. How disgusting! The customer she was helping was in shock. And the other two customers waiting in the sitting area couldn’t believe it either, I could tell by their facial expressions!! To top it off this lady just continued on discussing the dog food like nothing happened!!! How can someone who works at a veterinarian clinic turn away an animal in such desperate need of care.

I have had great experiences here, but one terrible one that has resulted in switching vets. My oldest cat was very sick and, contrary to many of the reviews I have read, I received no information on his disease, and no instructions on the food and medications they gave me, I was handed a box in a parking lot. I begged for help and advice, crying on the phone and got none. It did not seem to bother them when I said I would have to go to a different vet to get some help. So that is what I did. My cat & I had a personal over 1 hour appointment (we are in stage 3 after all) with an alternate clinic and I knew that I had made the right decision. I have written to Heartland setting out my experience, but have received no substantive reply. Very disappointing. No clinic is perfect, and at the end of the day, no one cares more for your pet than you do. If you cannot get the answers you deserve from one clinic, you will from another.

This clinic is truly superb. Our dog had surgery here last year and the care for her was outstanding. We recently had to take her for her last trip to Heartland. It was heartbreaking. The staff there was so compassionate and supportive. Big shout out to those special special people. They are truly unique. Not only do they have to deal with our pets at these worst moments, but they also deal with the owners. Which, from my perspective, couldn't have been easy for them.
